After numerous attempts to address my concerns about a used car that one of the mechanics who goes by various names Kevin, Steve, on Facebook Group etc... claimed was his niece's sold me, I am now posting this to say that there is something very shady about this auto shop. The only person I would consider giving any trust to is the manager Julio who was stuck in the middle of Kevin/ Steve's lies. I went in to ask if they had the maintenance record for the car that was sold me to, Kevins/ Steve said they didn't. Again, I asked to speak to the managers/ owners whose names show up on BBB as Business Management: Thomas Wong Ms. Min Huynh, Manager I keep being told they are out of town or traveling every time I go. I forked out over $14, 000 cash for the car. While it seems to run ok after a few months of having it, I have no record of the car. I don't know when maintenace is due, what the car may have gone through in the past, etc... . So with that said, and after my numerous attempts, I am filing a complaint with BBB so these business owners can take cusotmer requests more seriously. No ok. read more

This is my second review here. My car was rear-ended and pushed into the car in front so there was damage to both ends. After my first experience, I decided to bring my ca back to T & H. Once again, they did an awesome job with the body work. The car, honestly, looks like it came right off the showroom lot, which is why they are supposed to do. While they worked with the insurance company, they kept me informed all along the way. They also had the repairs done earlier than usual. My car sustained some damage from a hit and run and T&H was on the list of preferred body shops from my insurance company. They were extremely helpfuland made the whole process easy. I am extremely satisfied with the work they did and received great service. Clay and his team were quite helpful in getting my car restored to like new condition. T&H Auto Service is a family owned & I love to support local businesses. They always take a lot of time and care in any issue that I have with my car. I've been needing an oil change for the past week or so and have been waiting until they have been free to see my car. They specialize in both engine work AND body work. I highly recommend this place. Being a woman going to an auto shop, it always comes with its headache as most mechanics think that women have no idea about any car issue and try to take advantage of them. I brought my Toyota Yaris to this place spoke this guy called Steve. I explained to him that I have Evap gross leak and l have check engine light on. Initially I told him I would like to do smoke leak test. He agreed and to told me that he is going to take care of everything and the engine light won't come back. After everything,l collected the car drove 42 miles and the engine light turned off. I after couple of days the engine came back and he gave me warranty for 90 days. I got back to him that the engine light is back. He told me I have to pay him another me for the Evap . I will recommend, please don't take your car to this place. They will take your money and don't fix the problem. Please note, this guy don't know what they are doing. read more

Do not take your car here. Car was to be towed from their place after being there for 3 hours. They would not release the vehicle, and then kept it for 4 days, charging $125 / day storage. I will be taking them to court. AGAIN.. STAY AWAY FROM HERE. read more

I moved to Chicago 6 years ago and was sure I'd never find the kind of auto repair place I had back home. Since I lived in Edgewater and T & H Auto was around the corner, I went there to have a side mirror replaced. 6 years later (and more mirrors/dings/bumpers than I'd like to mention) and I'm still going back. I really can't say enough good things about these guys. They are honest and kind and REALLY well-priced. I never second-guess what they say and have never felt like they were trying to take advantage of me. Being a young female in a car shop can be difficult, they make it easy. These guys are great. I first went to them after I sustained decent body damage after an accident. Within 4 days they fixed the car up like new. It was a super smooth process and they made the claim with the insurance company as easy as I could have hoped. Recently I went to them to simply repair a broken head light and they ended up catching a very dangerous situation with a battery that was improperly installed by a AAA technician. Insurance sent us to T&H after a mishap. They were fast and the car came back looking great and shiny clean.

Short version: At first glance, Uptown Auto Service at 5745 North Broadway next door looks like a continuation of T&H. It is not. Even with a bit of confusion at Uptown, I would still recommend it over T&H. They rope people in with cheaper pricing, but the customer service sucks. Go next door where the Uptown owner is good at both! Long version: It always amazes me when companies have especially horrendous customer service and act like they're doing you a favor by accepting your money. I'd been to this location two years ago when someone rear-ended my car. I don't recall who worked on the car, but I do remember it was in the winter and incredibly slippery. I fell on my knees and the older guy laughed. I STILL let them fix my car. Hey, sometimes people laugh at falls. I thought it was a bit weird to do, but I only had a mild limp. I'm a tomboy. No big deal to me, but on a snowy and icy day like that, they could at least attempt to mop every once in while. I did find it a bit bizarre that when I came to pick up my car, the floors were still not mopped but I was prepared to toddler walk my way in. Lawsuit-happy people would've sued them for their floor being this dangerous on two occasions, but that's not my thing. The car looked great when I came back to get it. I brushed off the fall and the laughter. This time around, the older guy was in rare form on two separate occasions. I went there on Monday to get an estimate. I was curious if it was the same amount I'd paid the last time. But as soon as I drove my car into the driveway area, the older guy asked me to move my car up so another car could get in. No problem. I did so. On the phone he told me it would take 20 minutes to get an estimate. I got ready to leave and he seemed frustrated and told me to stay. I thought it was odd, but I shrugged it off and returned within 20 minutes. He gave me the estimate and walked away. No "Thank you." No "Hope to see you soon." Nothing. Just walked away. I go in today to drop my car off. As soon as I pull into the driveway, he starts shouting about me moving my car and asks for my keys. I reach in my purse to unloop the key ring, and he yells it again. Now I'm just staring at him like, "Are you serious?" Unless someone is trying to get their getaway car out of the lot, it can wait long enough for me to unhook two circle keychains. He moves my car out of the driveway. The other car leaves. Then he drives my car back again with the butt of it out so anyone on the right-hand lane could easily bump it. I go outside to ask him to move my car up a little. He says, "Nobody's going to hit it." I ask, "Why is it out so far?" He said "So people can walk by." I thought that made sense and shrugged. He left enough room for four people to walk hand-in-hand on a sidewalk, but to each his own. But when I came back in, he answered the phone with an attitude. Then after he finished his call, he said, "Give me the paperwork." I told him flat out he was being rude. I do not work for him. That "Give me this!" and "Move your car!" in the tone you talk to an unruly toddler just doesn't work on grown-ups. I told him he needed to bring it down a notch and stop being rude to customers. He told me I was rude for telling him to move MY OWN CAR up in the driveway. I explained to him that no one leaves the entire butt of a car out on a busy street that people drive on. He waved his hand and said, "I don't want to be bothered with you. The phones are ringing! People are coming in!" My response was, "Are you serious? You're literally complaining to me that you have too many customers?" I closed the folder with my auto insurance estimate on it and the one he'd given me on Monday and walked out the door. I will never in this lifetime or the next lifetime recommend nor revisit T&H again. read more

Spring 2016. I met Ming as a referral. T & H Auto. My VOLVO got rear ended. Ming did a wonderful job working with the car insurance people and have fixed my car as scheduled. My recent visit was 4 weeks ago July 2017. Another rear ended repair. Ming ,as always is friendly ,but he talks so fast, that other people thinks he's rude. But, he is HONEST and does a good job.While he was working on my car , he called me about the car battery. It's true. I haven't change the car battery since I bought my car.( that I recall ). I picked up my car and looked brand new. If Ming did not change my car battery .My car will not last, as soon as I pulled out from the repair shop , the car will die on the road , and it will cost me a towing expense. What I am trying to convey is that ,Ming is mindful of this things.I arrived 10 minutes late to pick up my car and the shop was already closed . I could see my beautiful car through the glass door. But , out of no where , I saw Ming running back to the shop. He said , He saw me and drove back. I was so thankful, He cares about his customers. He knows how the customers loved their car. ( Well, I can only speak for myself). It's hard to find an honest mechanic and I found Ming. I will continue bringing my car to him and refer him to my relatives and friends. I was referred to T&H by another mechanic. It was the first time in 9 years that my car ever had needed substantial work. I was very pleased with the repairs and the price. I literally know nothing about how cars run, so an unscrupulous shop could have charged me a lot more money than this place did. I would have never known the difference. It wasn't cheap, but it was a fair price, and completely in line with what another friend told me it would cost. I will be going back in a few weeks for my car's tune-up. read more

Be careful guys! This place will charge you for an oil change and won't actually do it. I've caught these guys doing it on more than one occasion. They'll also suggest other maintenance items, like a transmission flush, but won't actually do it. Then you'll be thinking that everything is all fine and dandy until your transmission goes out. And where do you go??? Back to this place to give them some more of your money! It's a great setup they got there. Think you're getting a good price on your repair? Think again! They'll skimp on the insides. One of my friends had bodywork done at this place and it looked great on the outside, but once you got on the highway, it was noisy. And when you pushed it, it was bending in - unlike the other side. Why? Because they skimped on the soundproofing and other materials to reinforce the body work. I've been going to this mechanic shop for a long time, and I'd have to say that their service is great, the owner is fair and also very honest, it's hard to find a mechanic shop like theirs, for instance at other mechanic shops you bring your car in for a simple repair, but they tell you that you have 500 other things wrong with your car, at T&H Auto I would bring in my car and yes, there might be some slight things that need to be tweaked but nothing to the extent of what other shops would tell me. My car is still working fine and I will continue to go to T&H Auto to have my car fixed. read more

After being sideswipped my insurance company gave me a list of places to take my car to get the repairs done and I chose T & H because it was convenient to my home and because of the reviews on Yelp. From now on I plan to bring my car to T & H for any work! Tom at the front desk was very helpful in getting all of the paperwork done with the insurance company. He helped me get a rental car arranged which I was also very happy with. He called me as soon as the repairs were completed and the repairs were done when he promised. When I came to pick up the car, he reduced my portion of insurance bill and then he gave me a box of Christmas goodies! Being Christmas time the bills are adding up, so to get a discount on the repair bill was soooo appreciated. He always had a smile and pleasant manner.
