I stopped by today to get an estimate on a rear bumper repair. Someone assisted me right away and called for a tech. The technician, Kevin, came out to assess the damage. My bumper had come slightly misaligned. He said the damage was light, but did make several times to get my bumper to snap back into place. Although he was not able to do so, he said that he thought the bumper would be fine and need no repair at this time. He did not charge me anything, although he tried to fix it for about 10 minutes. He was friendly, courteous, and saved me alot of money and stress. I highly recommend this place for the knowledge, kindness, and honesty. read more

The Acura dealer make a dent in my car so they send it to the location in Bensenville for repair, they did terrible job painted trims and moldings and after couple weeks I took the car for a touch less car wash and the clear coat started peeling, BEWARE PEOPLE read more

These guys USED to do FANTASTIC work. I have taken five of my vehicles here over the years for varying states of repairs and touch-ups and the results were usually always tops, not this time. Was just there for very likely the last time. Incompetent and rushed-through work this time. Body guy ripped out clips from a bumper to remove when he was supposed to UNBOLT from a different part next to the riveted piece. I even saw the process myself in the car's service manual. Extremely sloppy and very expensive for the shoddy work done. Did not perform scope of work WRITTEN DOWN ON THEIR OWN WORK ORDER! I could've done what they did myself for FREE. Very sad and disappointing. The least they could have done is offer my poor wife her money back for the s*it work done. The old Carnica is gone forever. read more

A+++++++++ place & David comes through again!!! Brought our car here a several times in the past for touch-ups, dent repair, etc and they have always done an excellent job. Well, this year I had damage on the top of the car & antenna post (my mistake of coming in garage as it was coming down - ugh!). My husband (who knows quite a bit about cars/repairs/etc went to a few repair shops & he was not happy with the "upselling" on how to repair it (they all had such different approaches - from total replacement to Bondo). My husband thought - why not try Carnica, now known as Dent Wizard, in Des Plaines where we always had good service at reasonable prices. He talked to David - who has always been honest and reasonable with his pricing and approach - he explained how they could fix so there would be no leaks (our biggest concern) without any unnecessary fanciness for a super-reasonable price. I have not yet written a post on Yelp, but after the service and generosity I have received today, I couldn't help but share my opinion. I have been to Carnica on two separate occasions, and each time came out a happy customer. Today, I took my one month old car in with a small scratch. I expected quality, but what I received was beyond that. David was not only extremely professional and honest, but extremely generous in his work. Since the scratch was not major but rather quite minor, he devoted his work to offer a New Year's gift to me, and did not charge me a penny. I was stunned. I knew that the repair would not cost me much, but not in a million years would I expect such generosity from anyone. I must admit that David showed me that honest, and most importantly, good hearted people still exist. I will refer Carnica to ALL my friends and family, and definitely encourage anyone who needs a great car body repair to visit them. DO NOT GET YOUR CAR DETAILED HERE! I took in my car for a full interior detail and they quaility was horrible. It looked like a 5 minute job. When I came to pick up my car I found so many spots they missed. Spots on my gauges, center console, stains on my seats not cleaned, dirt on inner panels, pet hair on head rests. Thy charged me for a seat shampoo but they didn't even shampoo, they only sprayed spot cleaner on the seats. I was not happy and to top it off they damaged my leather wrapped steering wheel with a huge 6 inch scratch . I had a better interior cleaning job from a $15 car wash place called Snappy in Edge Water. If you are going to go to this place you are better off cleaning your car yourself and save the money and hassle. This place is nowhere near professional quality. read more

I have a 2002 Acura RSX and recently took my car in to have a dent taken out of the drivers side door and have the drivers side mirror replaced. Today I went to this shop. A person on a very comfortable chair asked me if he could help. I asked for an electrical estimate, without standing up, he replied "we don't do After Market! These guys take the word "detail" literally. So many shops are selling basic car washing, charging more and calling it a detail job. Not these folks. A toddler had trashed my interior -- thrown Cheetos ground down into the carpet, spilled milk staining the seats, Disney stickers everywhere, just everywhere! It was scary. It was a filthy wreck, accumulated over 24 months. These guys got that clean. AND they got the crevices in the console under the armrest clean, by jiminy! They also do fantastic compounding, getting major scratches out of the side of the SUV, saving me from having to get a paint job. Now my car is as clean as it has ever been, inside and out. Looks new! They were polite, prompt and they stood by the phone estimate, too. I will be back! read more

About 3 months ago a friend referred me to his place for high quality light bodywork and detailing. I brought in an older model Camry that I intended to let me 17 year old drive. It had the usual scratches, and bruises as well as a pretty cracked rear bumper. One of the managers, Jason, personally went over the car with me explaining what could be done and what he recommend . He was not pushy nor did he try to oversell their services. He gave me a quote and said it would be done in three days. Instead of repairing the bumper cover they suggested replacement. Two days later I got a call saying that things went better than expected and the car was finished and detailed. When I went to pick it up, I was blown away. They had done a fabulous job! The car looked great and the price was exactly what he quoted. I was so impressed that I have brought 4 other cars/trucks there since. The cars have varied in age, type and extent of damage (think 3 teenage kids and a wife who parks by sound). They all turned out excellent, were done on time and at or below the quoted price. In particular, my wife's new BMW lower bumper valence had a run in with a drive-thru retaining wall. I was nervous because it is a tough color to match - charcoal metallic. And, the damage included a hole and significant road rash. A new bumper would have easily cost $1000+. They looked at it and said they could repair it without the need of replacement. I trusted them and was not disappointed. You would never know it had been damaged. It was done in two days and at a fraction of the cost of what other shops were quoting. Without hesitation, I recommend this place to everyone. Honest, fair pricing, professional, and on-time. I have read the 2 negative reviews on Yelp. Frankly they sound nothing like the 5 experiences I have had. I have no way to compare their descriptions to what I have consistently experienced. I took my car with a few scratches from irresponsible people who opened their door so hard, leaving a dent and scratching paint. There was also a blob of bad touch up job I had attempted. Jason, the manager, did an amazing job - it was like magic - the white spots and scratches were gone and then he even buffed the areas - and not a trace of the scratch! I took my car there for an estimate on some small dings that I had on my door from my neighbor hitting my car with his car door. I met David and he told me what I had heard from other auto body shops about the cost of painting my entire door, which proved to be too costly for me. He noticed that I wasn't interested and gave me a second option that I could afford. I took my car in on a Friday and he had it done within a few hours! From start to finish I had the best possible experience ever! David is such a great guy and honestly did everything he could to fix my car! I will tell everyone I know to go here to fix your car. I took my S U V in for a minor repair on the rear hatch, got the vehical back on Thursday 15 June 2017. The work was fine not the best but acceptable for the price I paid. Actually the price could have been a bit lower. Anyway someone there likes to screw around with shifters. When I sat in to drive out I found the shifter knob very loose. Luckely I know how to repair this and did not make a big deal of this, but this should not have happened. I take pride in my cars and like to take care of them, and not have some asshat mess with my stuff. I expect to get things back the way I left them and this was definitely not the case. Carnica was recommended by a co-worker, and I am so glad I came here. I had a couple of door dents, and one had a small chip in the paint. They gave me a very reasonable estimate and were honest about what they could accomplish (one dent was quite deep for paintless dent removal). They did a great touch up job, got out the small dent, and worked the deep dent to the best of their ability. Again, they were honest and upfront the entire time, and the deep dent looks much better than before. The customer service was wonderful, my car was done quickly, and the price could not be beat! I just purchased a 2012 Camry two weeks before we got deep scratches on our lower bumper. The body shop said $500 and Carnica said $200. I went with Carnica not expecting to be perfect but I was proved wrong. Not only did they remove the deep scratches but they match the color to my car perfectly which is what I was also worried about. These guys were nice and professional. If I could give negative stars, I would. I dropped off a new bumper to be painted, came to pick it up when I was told it would be done, and the staff told me "they forgot to paint it." I was obviously not going to trust them to paint it again, so I took it back. As I left the staff were making fun of me and insulting me. Seriously, my worst experience as a customer ever, anywhere. I own a limousine company and have been bringing all 9 of my fleet cars and also my personal cars to Carnica for years. They not only do impeccable work, they are incredibly fast. They know that limo's loose money if not on the road and many times, get them in and out in a day. From the scratched up bumper to the marks from dragging luggage over the bumper to hail damage to scratches to door edge chips-you name it, they will repair it and the repair is undetectable.
