I brought my vehicle to Chicago Wheel Express to repair four bent wheels. The quality of the actual work was excellent. After picking up the vehicle and driving it, the vibration I had been experiencing was completely gone, so I am very happy with the repair itself. There were some frustrations with communication and pricing. My appointment had previously been changed over the phone but apparently wasn't entered into the system, which required additional calls. I was also initially told the vehicle would be ready the same day, but that timeline wasn't met. I also think the fee structure could be more customer-friendly. There is a 3% shop fee for general administrative/service overhead in addition to a separate 3% credit-card convenience fee. I personally think these costs should be clearer upfront, particularly when you're already paying for the service itself. That said, when the vehicle wasn't completed when originally promised, I asked if they could provide a discount, and they did. Most importantly, they did what I brought the car there to have done. All four wheels were repaired and the vibration is gone. Despite the communication issues and additional fees, I am very satisfied with the quality of the actual wheel repair and appreciated them working with me on the final price. read more

This Company is the Worse I have ever delt with. These Guys powder coated over my Hardware and was the worse thing you can do. they lost bolts. striped the chrome off my hardware. later the Powder started chipping away From the wheels cracking like egg shells.. highly suggest staying away from this place. they are the yes we can deliver type of talk then sell you crap. surprised they are still around. I just had the strangest interaction at this place. I called ahead and was told to drop in. I had some curb rash and rough grinding on the edge of a wheel. The rep there let me know they'd be able to do a "quick refinish" to repair the damage. He was clear that they painted it with a silver that is 90% color matched to my wheel. He showed me an example and I agreed to the work for $100. About an hour later, he let me know the work was complete. I went to Inspect the wheel. Immediately I could see that silver paint spray had bled into the black painted part of the wheel and that there was excess paint that had a dripping look to it. I pointed it out and he said that is why he told me it was an "express refinish". I said I understood that the paint would be unmatched, but I was pointing out carelessness in the actual painting. He said if I wanted it fixed he'd have to repaint. I don't think he expected me to accept this. I said something had to be done. It either needed to be redone or I wasn't going to pay. Then he said "just take it". I said I'd prefer he fix it and he said starting over wouldnt be worth his time. I emphasized I'd be willing to pay, but he insisted. Terrible service. Received the car with a broken TPMS sensor loose inside the wheel. Tire was completely flat the next day. And two tires were unbalanced by more than 1oz causing vibrations. Of course they said non of their workers there were responsible. And they only apply a small coat of powder coat. Not worth the money and headache. Owner said he would reimburse half the price of a new TPMS sensor once I got it replaced. I never got the reimbursement. This was 1 day after pick up. read more

I recently got some curb rash on my new black gloss rims. I researched some places and was able to make an appointment here for the next day. They called me in the morning to confirm. When I got there, the staff was very friendly and let me know that I could wait for the repair. It only took around 20-30 minutes to complete the work which was incredible. Also the cost of the repair was $80. The work was excellent and I couldn't even tell where the original damage was. Had a couple wheels on my Subaru that were slightly bent, and I heard about this place from a friend. Decided to take a 10 mile drive up from the south side . The finish on the repaired wheels is good but not perfect , but I'm still happy with the wheel versus how it was before as it was bent before . Slight clear coat overspray on the 2 silver spokes where there was no repair which surround the grey black part that was repaired ,but it's minor. With these types of repairs, it's never perfect .also, They had it ready the day they said they would. Something rare in the mechanic world. Shop is nice and clean. At the same time, I do know these are two tone wheels so they aren't as easy as a plain Jane one tone color which I understand . For the record, shop owner did offer to repair . However it's not really noticeable unless you hold a flash light to it or really stare at it. Regardless, im satisfied for the price and quality of how the bend of the wheel was fixed. honestly very very disappointed! came here with my nismos v2 rims in chrome for curb rash on the edges near my tire I was referred by a friend that had a good experience. unfortunately mines was different. they had a worker grind off more chrome then what he was suppose to fix. as for the curb rash they put silver like coating to fix the curb rash which was honestly decent but they added more damage by touching my spokes and more of the inner ram that had no curb rash/ damage whats . they called me right when they were about to close to get my car I went they wouldn't show me the car inside but once they brought it out I noticed all the damage they added! the girl in the front desk was nice and respectful as for the Hispanic guy at the front desk I don't know if he's the owner but I asked for a refund and right away he said that they did what they could when they guaranteed me it was going to be "as good as new" I would honestly just say if you do go here take pictures of the damage before and after so you can have proof of the work they do. they called me the next day telling me they would give me half my refund.
