I don't know much about tints other than I knew I wanted them (within legal limit of 35%). I messaged Mr. Yoon on Yelp requesting a quote and his response was prompt and straightforward. I called him the next day to request an appointment and he was able to squeeze me in. During our phone call, I asked him to quote me how much it would be to get the top 6 inches of my windshield tinted. Mr. Yoon said it would be $40 extra but he advised against it and said it wouldn't look nice. As a female that is wary of being taken advantage of when visiting car shops, I very much appreciated his honest feedback in this regard. One of the best assets of this place was that Mr. Yoon was very hospitable and nice to me! I set up an appointment with him through email but apparently he forgot to put me down and told me he was very sorry and was very apologetic. He told me to come back next week and offered me a $20 discount off the total price. I came back the next week but this time it was from DeKalb (~70mile commute) and he took my car in and started working right away. Overall it took around two hours and he was nice enough to give me another discount on top of the $20 discount he gave me the week before because of my long commute. I told him he was a very nice man and he thanked me and told me that his customer's satisfaction was his #1 concern. What a great man! The tint job was pretty good as well, he told me what I needed to know about the tint but the only thing i'd comment on is that it was a little dirty after he was done with everything. I'm not sure if its always supposed to be like that but it's nothing that I can't fix. Got my side and rear windows tinted to the legal limit @ 35%. Great place to tint you car! Satisfied. My Acura MDX came with tints on the rear/back windows, so was looking to get the front-side windows done to match. Over the phone, Paul Yoon told me he has 40 tint shades and would be able to match whatever I had without a problem. So I made the appointment and went in the next day. I pull into the garage and Paul measures my rear tints with his meter, and he says that he CANNOT match what I already have. I'm disappointed... but I tell him to go with whatever he thinks will offer the closest match. It's not ideal, but he was quick and did a good job applying the film. Minus 1 star. I pull out my credit card to pay the $80 for 2 windows, and Paul says he doesn't accept plastic. It's 2016, Paul. Ok here it goes... Made an appointment for window tint on my 2012 Volvo S60 that I just purchased a few days ago with 1 mile on it. The appointment was for 12:30PM, and wasn't spoken to by anyone in the shop for 35 minutes. Finally, Mr. Yoon greats me and informs me it's going to be another 10 minutes until he can get to my car... Ok fine, I can live with the timing...you get the same service at the dentist. He tells me come back in 1 1/2 hours and the car will be done. So I went down the street, got some food, read a little and came back. Car still not done, in fact I sat another 1 1/2 hours, which was fine. I figured they are doing quality work and it is worth the wait. I took delivery of the car and the entire inside (leather) was splashed with water marks and whatever else gunk they use for the tint process. Thank god everything wiped off the leather ok with some Armor All. Now this is where I start to get pissed. 1. I noticed that there are a few small punctures in the leather door panel obviously due to some sort of blunt object, force, the dudes belt or watch, I don't know...or care. Either way, the door panel is ruined. 2. The front doors have small, flush-mount tweeters wrapped in leather that are separate from the door panel. They are attached to the car door by trim fasteners that can be removed. Well, I noticed once I got home that they were very loose, almost hanging on by a thread. I proceeded to pop off the tweeter(s) and sure enough the clips were broken because the installer did not know how to remove them or did not due so carefully. Pissed. -I went to Volvo and asked if they had some extra clips for the tweeters and explained the situation. I was informed that those specific clips only come with new tweeters and are not sold separately. Pissed. I have yet to contact Gold Window Tint / Mr. Yoon because I was busy at work all day and want to talk in person, not over the phone. I will be glad to revise my review just as soon as this issue is resolved. If it is not I will take further action. On a positive note, the tint is actually starting to look ok now that the bubbles, haze, etc are fading. read more

This place is a bit overrated. The result of tinting 2012 Kia Optima were lines in the tint (from irregularities in the tint film), scratches from the sharp tool used to smooth out the air bubbles and the inability to tint over the back windshield brake light. Of all these things the last one bothers me the most. I have seen Optimas out there with a fully tinted back windshield. Mr. Yoon said that removing the plastic housing around brake light would be too complicated so he ended up cutting a hole and tinted around it instead. And to make matters worse, the hole he cut was not even symmetric, more of a trapezoid shape. Mr. Yoon is a very nice and courteous fellow to deal with but the quality of his work is not up to par. Fortunately, he was willing to redo the windows that had problems but it ended up being a very long day. A few tips if you do end up going here: 1. Ask if he's done your type of car before (because of my back windshield issue) 2. Do a thorough inspection of all the windows before you leave 3. Payment is expected in cash read more

Mr. Yoon IS DAT DUDE! I emailed him via his website about a week and a half prior to set the appointment. My appt. was for Noon on April 18th. I was running late so I called him to let him know I would be 10 min late, he was totally cool with it. I got there at 12:10 pm and he was very welcoming and accommodating. He explained what the process will entail. He showed me some sample tints to get an idea of how dark it'll be. And he said it will be about a 2.5 hour job and he wasn't lying. I was driving off the lot at 2:30 pm. He let me know upfront that he only accepts cash, so I had more than enough time to hit up chase down the street. OH...the tints you ask? Freaking AMAZING!
