These guys are criminals. Omar is the contact that I dealt with. They powder coated my wheels and calipers on my Porsche 911. After picking up the car it went flat that night in my garage. I took the car to the tore shop where they checked the tire to find two holes and the tire filled with fix a flat. These tires are run flat tires with the foam run flat liner. These fix a flat ate the foam liner causing it to delaminate from the tire and ruin it. When I contacted Omar about this he denied it and everything short of told me to kick rocks. Repaired my rim which is great and i was charged 80 which l thought was fair. They charge a fee if you use a credit card and they charged an additional $25 to mount the tire to the wheel. Mmm....ok that seems somewhat reasonable. The kicker is they charged me $50 to put the wheel back on the car. Totally unreasonable. I had Crown Customs paint all of the emblems on my Tesla. 2/3 emblems have the paint chipping off, the front looks horrible. Management said they would replace 1/2 of the badges claiming that this chipping was due to "physical damage", which is out of their control. Pretty weird there are no dents but the paint is all missing? I could have done the same job for $20 or less. Management was extremely petty and wanted to save a dollar over helping a customer. Would not recommend this place, overpriced, poor workmanship and don't understand the basics of making a customer satisfied with their purchase. Stay far away. read more

I cannot say enough great things about the folks at Crown Customs & Coatings, as they are simply the best! This year I noticed that I had some scratches on my wheels so I started looking for someone that could repair the scratches and then refinish the wheels for me. When I searched online, I was amazed that Crown Customs & Coatings had an incredible number of reviews which were all 5 Stars. There are other services out there, but they had far fewer reviews which were all 4 Stars or less. I figured there must be a reason why Crown has such stellar ratings, so I emailed them to arrange a visit. Crown's top-notch staff answered all my questions and we set up a meeting. I was pretty amazed at what I saw when I arrived at their facility. Their waiting room has a couple dozen wheels on display that are finished in all sorts of colors and finishes to give you an idea of how things could look on your vehicle. I also met another customer who was waiting to pick up his car and he said that he has worked with Crown in the past and he had high praise for the work that they do. Next, I met with the owner who listened to what I was trying to accomplish, took a look at my car and then stepped me through the various options explaining their pros and cons based on my car and my goals. He provided great guidance and we were quickly able to lock onto a color for my wheels. We took a tour of the shop which for me was just like going to the Chicago Auto Show. There were so many high-end cars in the shop that I thought to myself that if all of these owners trusted Crown to work on their cars, it would be pointless for me to consider going anywhere else. It was also cool to see that there was another car in the shop that already had their wheels done in the same color that I had just chosen for my wheels. On the day that I brought my car in, the entire staff was so friendly and everyone that I came in contact with acknowledged me and said 'Hi' as if we were old friends. They really do focus on taking care of their customers. When I picked up my car, I was stunned to see how great it looked with the new wheels. The work that was done was outstanding and it exceeded my expectations. I am so very pleased with the results and I would absolutely work with Crown again. On my initial visit to the shop the crew was very informative on their craft and they provided me with a tour of the facility which is really impressive. Had some wheels put on. They did a great job balancing my wheels. Its perfect! Do you know how hard that is to find? It's like hit or miss out there I swear. They also had to deal with run flats and they are much harder to do since they are stiffer. No scratches on my wheels. Kudos to whoever did the work. The only negative is the wheel lug nuts were not torqued to specs. I checked when I got home and they were around 140-150 ft lbs and spec is 80 ft lbs. A lot of shops are guilty of zipping them on with the impact gun, myself included when I did this work. Doesn't pose a hazard, just makes it a little harder to take the lug nuts off next time. I did arrive early and maybe they felt rushed. ‍ You have to drop off the car and let them call you when done. It's not your typical tire shop as they mainly do powder coat service. Just trust your car is in good hands. Overall very pleased. This will be my spot. read more

Price was $900 compared to the next lowest quote I got from a competitor at $1500. Scheduled a drop off date. Was told work would be done on specific day. Received call informing me work was done as promised. When I arrived to pick up my vehicle I inspected it and everything I was looking to have done was not done. I discussed with Rich and he handled the situation much better than I was expecting. Some miscommunication over the phone was the reason for things not being done as I wanted. I was shopping around for a permeant performance shop to take my car to, and came across this place. Despite many of my highly knowledgeable car friends and acquaintances, and people online warning me of the place, all in relation to their quality of work and sketchy practices, and reviews that are mostly fake and made by friends or family, I gave them the benefit of a doubt and scheduled a relatively small set of tasks for my first visit that needed to get done and to see how good and reliable they are. I drove an hour and 20mins to their shop the day of the appointment and just down the street my PCV fitting on top of my intake created a tiny fire due to a bit of oil coming out of it and it being next to some wiring wrapped in a heat shield, I was alarmed and immediately blew the small fire out and called Crown to update them on what had happened and that I was figuring out how to go about it and that it was only a small highly fixable issue and that it i'd get to them as soon as I could and felt bad, I prepared super well for the appointment, had important data written down for them related to the car, it was a super low miles corvette with only 20k miles on it, the work done to it was pristine except the small pcv hang up, Crown rejected doing my service even though I explained everything to them, left me hanging over a pathetically small issue after over an hour drive to them. If they're that uneducated about cars and are that quick to abandon you over something so basic there's no telling what type of work they'd do to your vehicle. Take it somewhere else is highly suggested, the endless pictures I was showed of their paint work was a horror story too and that form of work is THEIR SPECIALTY. I threw a plastic cap on my PCV after I got rejected and drove it to another shop another hour away who accepted my car as is and I am now going to throw another $30k into my car through that other shop so it worked out in that sense. read more

I don't know how their powder coat holds up on alloy or chrome rims, but if you have bumpers, fenders, or any other ferrous automotive parts, don't take it here! I brought my steel fender flares to be powder coated; they said that with a zinc primer I won't have any issues. Not even a year goes by and I notice the powder coat bubbling up on all four flares- it got so bad that the ends felt brittle. After they sandblasted them I actually saw how corroded they'd become- the powder coat offered no protection whatsoever. If you have doubts or issues with rust, powder coating, especially here, will not be a good option for you. These people will tell you anything as long as they get your money. Their lifetime warranty means nothing, as they will just re powder coat what had already failed, and you'll most likely be dealing with the same problem again in a few months. I've since got my flares coated with bed liner, and I'm happy with the result. Stay away from this place. read more

So, I got my wheels on one of my m5s done, and the hood wrapped. I was satisfied. However, my wheels started dulling as they were gloss black. I sent email photos and they said it was due to chemicals being used on the wheels. So, I said, ok no one ever one time told me that certain chemicals couldn't be used on the finish. I was then told that basically I should know and so should car washes that I take my car to and that even wheels that aren't powdered get ruined using some chemicals. I highly doubt car washes use chemicals that ruin rims. Smh...then, I was offered a $100 discount to come back in and get them done again. I was NEVER given any instruction whatsoever as to what you can/cant use. I also waited for an answer for weeks. Too bad because I collect cars and was going to give them a good amount of business.
