It's currently all decorated for Christmas and is such a warm and exciting vibe! The service here is always great and the food comes out quick. My favorite section to sit in is by the bar are the two person high top booths that are so romantic and cozy for date night. The food is always great here but they got rid of my favorite appetizer which was the meatballs. Tried the fried mozzarella instead and it was better than the average mozzarella stick would definitely order it again. The only thing to be careful about here is for some reason the silverware is always dirty, no clue why but we always have to ask for a new set or a new steak knife. I don't just mean water spots, this last time the steak knife that came out had someone else's food still on it. Nice little spot came to while visiting my dad in Poughkeepsie. Food was good. We ordered the sampler tray for appetizer and everything was good on the plate. Had a little bit of everything. My step mom ordered some pasta. Her sister ordered a sandwich. My dad had a roast beef sandwich. My daughter had the mussels and fries which to me was a weird combo. Mussels were tasty. She didn't bother to eat the fries. And I chose the filet mignon. Melted in my mouth. Garlic mash were yummy. Loved it here. Would definitely return and try other things on the menu. Met family for lunch and was surprised to learn that Double O had a brunch buffet. The buffet was run great and the there was a nice variety of breakfast and lunch items, including an omelet station for made to order omelets. There is an additional charge for bloody Mary's, and had a stations with add-ons like olives and shrimp. I made 2 drinks out of it. Haven't been at this Resturant in a very long time and now I remembered why. Food is not the same. The dipping oil doesn't taste as good as before. There was no favor at all , you can usually taste some salt, bit of garlic and basil, but not this time. We ordered fried calamari and the marinara sauce tasted like tomato paste out of a can, absolutely no flavor or salt. They skimmed on the fried calamari. There were a lot of broken pieces of fried dough, not much meaty part of calamari. We ordered chicken and waffles. The only thing good was the waffles. The chicken was just dipped in batter and fried, no flavor, plain and bland. We ordered the beef stroganoff and the chicken sorrentino. The stroganoff was bland . I had to keep adding salt and pepper. No flavor whatsoever. Beef wasn't tasty at all. The chicken dish was also bland red sauce tasted like plain tomatoe paste. This will be our last visit. Not worth the money or 45 minute wait. 2 stars is for the waiter or I would have rated 0 stars. read more

Upscale diner food, quality is hit or miss. Skirt steak was cooked to order a perfect medium rare and the portion was generous for the price, but I don't think it was seasoned prior to being cooked. The staff were great. The service was good. Food was good, but it is a rather noisy restaurant. We picked this restaurant as a midway point to meet with another couple. It was perfect for the occasion. Us two girls ordered the vegetarian curry. It came with edamame peas and was quite good, but not great. I wouldn't order it again. Hubby had roast beef with brie on ciabatta bread. The roast beef wasn't as warm as he would have liked. He said it was good, but not great and like me, wouldn't order it again. I believe the other hubby had a burger but he didn't comment on it. For dessert the other couple ordered the death by chocolate which was ginormous! Hubby and I ordered the apple caramel crisp, which was absolutely delicious. We all had decaf cappuccinos and they were very good. We were actually really impressed by this place- no one in my party went expecting much but by the time we left we were blown away. The spicy rigatoni was incredibly flavorful and rich. I was spending the night in Poughkeepsie and spotted Double O Grill. So I figured why not. First if you know Poughkeepsie you know that there are a multitude of restaurants along Route 9, so you have a choice of any kind of food you're feeling. Ok so a large parking area in the rear so that was easy. Inside they have a large bar area and a number of dining areas. I was alone so I sat at a high top table near the bar. My server Chris was there immediately with a bruschetta which was excellent. He took my order and as busy as it was for a Thursday night, my meal was delivered promptly. I ordered pasta Jumbalya which was pretty spicy but perfect for me. I was working during dinner but Chris was making sure I had everything I needed and was there to refill my drink before I realized I needed a refill. My boyfriend and I come here pretty often and things usually go great, except tonight when we brought a guest from out of town. Our server Alexandria was pretty inattentive. There were two tables nearby of larger groups and she literally took her time with them, engaging in conversation and laughed with them, while avoiding even making eye contact with us when she was at our table. It seemed as if she was prioritizing the other tables and consistently took her time getting us everything we asked for (butter for bread, a water refill and even lemon). While we were eating she quickly looked to see if our table was fine as she was entertaining the other table then quickly walked away without actually asking. We waited more more than five minutes after our food came out to ask her for ketchup (like hello you see there's a burger and fries here miss). And, we still had to ask her for a refill on my guests drink which was CLEARLY empty. To end the night we literally had to ask another server and a bus boy if they could get our check for us because she blatantly looked at my boyfriend as he was about to ask for it and walked away. I've never had an experience like this before, usually things are really pleasant. I will probably wait some time before I come again and will even go out of my way to ask for a different server if it it Alexandria again. read more

I am usually pleased with the selections on the menu. I went for a quick appetizer and a drink. The pear martini was perfect, but the Baked Shrimp Cargot, which includes baked shrimp with garlic, mushrooms, spinach, gruyere cheese, and bread crumbs, should be removed from the menu. It had no taste. I tried to avoid putting salt on food, but I had to. Another issue is its soup-like consistency, which should be accompanied with toasted banquettes. The waitress did toast the bread they provided on the table, but it wasn't enough. Provide garlic banquettes to make up for the lack of flavor. I took the dish home and fixed it with more salt and garlic---it was okay. Just take it off the menu. I will be back to taste something different. Oh yea, service was great. read more

If I could leave a 0 star review, I would. My family have been regular customers for over 10 years, and I can confirm we will never spend another dime at this trash establishment. Abraham is hands down the worst restaurant manager I have ever had the experience to know. He enjoys the likes of talking down to his customers, when the orders for take-out are rarely ever correct on the first try. Abraham had the audacity to tell my grandmother, who is 70 years old, that all she does is complain when we eat their, or take out food. If the order was correct, who would need to complain? But when you're paying for over-priced diner food you expect your order to be correct, especially as a customer who has spent north of $20,000 at this restaurant over the past decade. At one point we ate their 5 times a week because it was hard to cook at home. Abraham is a MANAGER whose job is to remedy customer complaints and make sure his customers leave satisfied. Instead, he told my grandmother to never come back to the restaurant, with extreme attitude during one of her roughest times in life. I sincerely hope this review finds you Abraham, or the owners, because if you are this unhappy in life that you feel the need to talk down to a 70 year old customer, after serving incorrect orders, you should probably find a new job. As I pulled up to the Double O Grill, I was impressed by the exterior. Upon entering, my initial impression was favorable. All of my good first impressions gradually disappeared as the unprofessional staff appeared. First, the young lady who had to end her phone call to seat us. When I informed her that the gentleman was waiting before us, she ignored it. We were seated in a booth to the right. Oh joyful day. The group towards the back of the room were very loud. Management was doing nothing to silence them. In fact, our waitress was LOUD when she spoke. She had a terrible habit of referring to customers as deary, love...and other inappropriate terms. This place was a surprisingly nice spot. I loved the outside which had a nice sitting area, and when we came in, the lighting inside was nicely dimmed which gave it a intimate feel. It is, what it is!!!! So I went ahead and got my usual a classic mojito! Super good! I Loved it, so I ordered 2 more after. Wish I knew the waiters name (he was also very patient) because he kept having to come back and ask if we were ready to order appetizer or food. We all just kept ordering drinks (Appetizers) Finally we ordered!!! I started with the mussels. And OMG! The portion was more than enough it came in a cask iron big pan all marinated in a nice broth, it was so refreshing with an slight earthy taste like it came straight from the sea, also the macaroni cheese balls was a plus packed with cheese with a nice crunch cooked perfect. (Entre) Then for my main course I ordered the streak frite that came with truffle garlic fries with a side salad, The steak was nicely made, the temperature of my steak was correct med-well just needed a bit more flavor, the fries was delicious, my favorite. Lets focus on...THE YARD. It's a massive beer, ok not that massive but biggest i have seen, in this ridic, beaker lookin lava lamp tube glass. It's a pain to drink out of but it makes you feel like a friggin viking so that's worth it. But watch out for the dreaded Das Boot bubble that sure as hell gets you from the bottom.. ROTATE!! Overall food wasn't bad, nice portions, i had a shrimp wrap, others has burgers and a calamari salad that had a too sweet dressing for my taste. New to the area and tried this place for the first time on Friday. We were excited to see that that the parking lot was packed. Must mean the food was good, we figured. It wasn't. Night started with some drinks at the bar. They were good and bartenders were fast, even juggling multiple orders. I had a cucumber cosmo and my husband had some kind of mule. Place looked nice! Was definitely packed. When we got to our table, it was very wiggly and unbalanced. I was spilling my drink all over the place. Waitress, who was very sweet, tried a lot to fix it. We were ok when it was about 80 percent fixed, which took a lot of back and forth and time. Apparently moving us to another similar sizes empty table nearby was out of the question. App was salt and pepper calamari. Garlic sauce was ok. Calamari was inedible. Super chewy and overcooked. Waitress saw we hardly had any and asked it we wanted it taken away after we said it was bad. Wish she would have asked a manager to take it off the bill. But she was quick with a second round of drinks and seemed nice. About 5 minutes after we got the app, our entrees arrived. Bad timing. We got seafood paella. The scallops and mussels seemed fresh but the dish was overwhelmingly smoked sausage and I doubt that the tiniest pinch of saffron was used. Also the dish came out super hot. Not hot as in it was just in a pan a few minutes ago. Hot as if the rice portion was microwaved. The broth/sauce didn't have much flavor. It was overwhelming just smoked taste from the sausage. It was New Year's Eve 2022 and we wanted dinner. We placed our order online and when I went to pick it up- it wasn't ready. They were having issues with the system- online orders weren't making it to the kitchen. But Manager Abraham was on top of it. He had the kitchen expedite my order even though it wasn't ready when I arrived and he comped us 2 desserts. It was crazy & hectic & busy since it was New Years Eve- but his attentiveness to our order made up for the problems with the online ordering system. Delicious! Just enjoyed scallops, six, Cooked/seared to absolute perfection over a corn risotto, Broccoli rabe. After enjoying some delicious fresh bread and dipping sauce. Chef even bought scallops to our table. I am extremely picky about seafood. These were so fresh and delicious I will have to go back again for more! As was risotto & Broccoli rabe.
