Yuck I remedied this by asking for a cup of hot water and soaking them before using them

Monday 9AM : In the area with a little time to spare. A very pleasant greeting and I was seated immediately in an expensive dining room with clean tables. A few other diners were already enjoying their breakfast. I have not been to a Perkins in a decade so it's almost felt brand new to me. The menu has changed a lot from what I recall. There's a whole section for 55 and over specials which cater to smaller appetites if not lower prices. I had already enjoyed my morning tea, so I opted for water with lemon which came to the table very promptly. One small downside was that the flatware did not look sparkling clean so I ordered some hot water and let it soak. This is a common problem at mini restaurants that use commercial dishwashers. The dishwashers are fantastic when set properly. My order: from the senior section lol egg over easy, two slices of well-done bacon, well done hash browns, and rye toast. Everything out quickly and cooked to perfection. That was impressive! I was also very intrigued by a special promotion going on. A fruity eggroll type of concoction. Diced apples, cream cheese, sugar, and cinnamon rolled in an egg roll and fried to crispy perfection then tossed in cinnamon sugar, and served with a caramel dipping sauce. Oh my goodness it was delicious I couldn't finish most of the meal so they graciously afforded me of travel box to take everything home. It's not inexpensive to eat here, but overall, I think the value is good and you're not rushed in and out. If you just want to catch up with a friend or take the family out for a bite and not be rushed, I think it would be a great spot I wish they had crêpes. I feel like I remember them having crêpes decades ago. Parking is very simple with lots of spaces that meet ADA compliance. The restaurants easy to get into and out of and I think they serve breakfast all day, which is right up my alley. Would I return? If I run the area and craving breakfast, I would consider it. Honorable mention that they have pies to take out entire pies. I suspect you can order one for the holidays

Waited 10 minutes to be seated

My last visit was perfect; this one was not. We waited 10 minutes to be seated. The table was not clean. The waitress was absolutely stellar: friendly, polite and personable. The pancakes were perfect. My eggs were over easy, but Ai asked for over medium. The steak was OK and the breakfast potatoes were delicious. I am a fan of Perkins. I would return; maybe today was just a one off.‍

We had a great lunch in a clean and spacious setting. The menu was huge and had tons of options. Service was friendly and timely. Loved this place.

2/21/2021 Perkins offers a nice variety of dishes along with a bakery for a plus, hence the name. We came during lunchtime and there was a 20 minute wait when we arrived. They asked to write our number so we'd be called, which I've never encountered before. There wasn't enough space to wait inside, so we waited in our car until time passed. Service was a bit slow until our waitress came. Our waitress did a great job answering the questions we had and checking in with us. Getting our food was no issue, but it took a little longer than expected. Someone in my group wanted to order a muffin and did, which didn't come out at all. It took at least a couple of minutes of waiting for our waitress to return. She asked for it again and the waitress took off and didn't come back for several minutes. We then asked for it at the end and took it as take-out. Take note of what's missing if that happens. I hope our experience next time will be better all around.

Note this was received at 12:48 pacific, so really nearly 4pm in ny which was after I expected it delivered and 12 minutes to their closing

It's unbelievable how this place could ruin a holiday from its lack of accountability and general not giving a f*ck. We ordered a meal for my elderly mother who lives alone in Poughkeepsie and doesn't drive much these days. I was so delighted to see they were open on thanksgiving until 4. I ordered a fairly simple meal to be delivered at 3:50. First I was asked in Doordash to adjust the time to 330. Fine. Order set up, all good. I even got a confirmation text about 45 minutes before the delivery time saying the order was confirmed by Perkins. By 3:46 I get a message saying the order is getting canceled. What?!? Basically sounds to me like these people wanted to close up early with total disregard for their guests. As much as I empathize with wanting to leave for the holiday, I absolutely don't remember the last time I had the audacity to tell my boss i was gonna bail because I didn't feel like doing the last 2% of my work. This was completely broken down in communication. Of course by the time I get this message, I frantically call other places for delivery but most are closed by now and pickings are slim on a holiday to start. This was an absolutely aggravating and disappointing experience, and I'm sad for not being able to get dinner to my mom. It would have been the least we could do since we can't be together from the pandemic still. Very upset at how unreliable this business was.

I have no complaints! Breakfast was just as good as the diners in the area, and more convenient than Cracker Barrel. We waited about 5 minutes before being sat and service was quick. Good value for the $$.

    Enjoying a cup of joe.

Restaurant is in a space…read morethat's had a lot of turnover through the years, but reviews were good and it looked updated. Sat at the bar and ordered a strawberry mojito. Fresh strawberries and mint were nice to see, but there was hardly any alcohol in the drink and the straw was far too narrow to be able to take a sip without it becoming obstructed. Poured woefully short as well, topped with even more ice and seltzer. Had the tempura shrimp to start. Generous portion, well seasoned. Slightly rubbery but not detracting from the dish. Aioli was great, but could have used a little more. Chili sauce was also good, but could barely get any in the ramekin it was in. Bacon cheeseburger with mushroom for my main followed. Looking back, there was actually NO bacon on the burger. Not sure if the kitchen overlooked it, or what. $4 for added mushrooms seemed a bit exorbitant at first, but they were oyster mushrooms. Fries were crisp and wonderfully seasoned. Ordered the burger medium - came out medium and juicy.... But absolutely flavorless. If their head chef loved salt like their fry cook, this burger would have been spectacular. The mushrooms never got to drive off extra water because of the lack of salt, and the meat just fell flat without seasoning. I wanted to love this burger, but I just couldn't no matter how hard I tried. Had the crack pie, advertised to be similar to Monofuku Milk Bar... for someone who had crack pie multiple times before it became the phenomena it is now, this falls short, by a lot. The chess pie filling is far too dense, lacking caramelization. The pie crust was undercooked and anemic. Sugar decoration on top added zero value to the dessert, and coconut ice cream is far too competitive a flavor to put against this dessert. Sauces on the plate were weak and boring eye service. Paid my $80 bill, tipped (even though the bartender was rarely seen or asking how things were), and headed out. For a quiet weekday, the service and quality of food were severely underwhelming.

I'm close enough that it's a short drive, but far enough that it still feels like an escape. My perfect summer afternoon starts with grabbing a pizza from Stone's down the road, then wandering over here for a couple of beers while the day slows down. The beer program is exactly what I want from a neighborhood brewery. They nail the flagship beers, sprinkle in enough thoughtfully crafted seasonal releases to keep things interesting, and never try to overwhelm you with a tap list full of gimmicks. It's clear they care more about brewing great beer than chasing trends. If you've got kids, bring them. The co-op gardens are fun to wander through, there are usually a few well-loved toys scattered around, and they'll inevitably end up exploring, getting a little dirty, and having the kind of unstructured afternoon that's getting harder to find. Part of me wants to keep this place a secret, because spots like this don't come around often. But places this good deserve to be supported. Unfortunately, the appetizers were a rough start. The lobster bisque was very watery/liquidy, and the lobster itself was tough. The Brussels sprouts were also overcooked. That said, the staff handled the situation very well and were extremely attentive and accommodating when we sent the soup back. The main entrées were much better and really saved the experience. I had the sea bass, my husband ordered the ribeye, and my sister-in-law had the veal -- all were hot, flavorful, and cooked very well. The veal was especially tender. Service throughout the evening was excellent, and you can tell the team is trying hard to make this newer restaurant successful. Overall, while the appetizers and overall execution didn't quite match the upscale price point yet, the entrées and attentive staff gave us enough reason to come back and give them another try. Hopefully, with a little refinement, especially on the starters, they can grow into the fine dining experience they're aiming for.
