They have a bright and airy space, although the fake plants at the entrance make you wonder if this really is an upscale place. They also have an outdoor patio where we saw a group dining with one of their furry friends. For appetizers, we ordered the Kerala chicken fry - well seasoned and crispy with a delicious dipping sauce. For the entrees, we got a potlam goat biryani - a delicious biryani wrapped in a banana leaf served table side. We also got the Fish Pollichathu, a fish grilled with a tomato based topping that was wrapped in a banana leaf and served with a tapioca mash and rice. All the dishes were delicious. The portions are generous and we ended up with leftovers to take back home. We also received a complimentary gulab jamun creme brulee since I was part of their mailing list and a pistachio tiramisu to celebrate our special occasion. A truly wonderful experience that made our evening special. We will look forward to returning to sample more of their offerings.

I made a reservation for 5 and we were seated immediately. They are a stroller friendly restaurant and were able to accommodate a newborns stroller. We ordered a lot of food. The portions are large and well worth it. - Karuvepilai Shrimp (6 pieces) - this was delicious, juicy and came with a nice chutney - Thattukada Chicken Fry - huge quantity and we loved sharing this - thali non veg came with lamb, special Chola biriyani, white rice, among other curries. This was a great way to try different some of the different dishes they offer, and is a huge serving. It had some veg sides that came with it and some of these dishes are unique and not available to order otherwise - chicken curry and 3 Malabar parottas - this was a curry leaf based curry that was pretty tasty. I'm not sure I would reorder this because I felt it lacked some salt and was very oily. - Chicken Biriyani - This is a huge serving and came with bone-in chicken as well as fried chicken, wrapped in a banana leaf. We ordered too much food but it was nice to have some leftover to take home! One thing to note was gratuity of 18% was automatically charged for us, but I wasn't aware that they do that for a party of 5.

Thanks to fellow Yelpers for helping me find my new favorite Indian spot…read more Fremont has absolutely no shortage of solid Indian restaurants, but Masala Republic still outshines them. I love their version of butter chicken and the Hyderabad mixed vegetable korma (a dish I always order if I can find it). Garlic naan was also delicious. Will be back to try more of the breads and dishes. I've gotten takeout a few times and when I have more time, will be sure to dine in. Update: Dined in a week later for lunch and tried the tandoori chicken and bagara baingan. Excellent!

Reached almost closing time around 2.45 pm..took our order right away and warned for any orders to be placed as kitchen would close at 3. Ordered chili paneer appetizer followed with vegetarian items(dal tadka, Jeera rice, butter naan, chili paneer) and our guest had goat biryani. Food was fresh and tasted good. Our guest enjoyed the goat biryani and was very happy there were sufficient meat pieces. Since it was closing time and a weekday not much crowd in fact we were the only ones around and they waited for us to finish. Hope they match up to their San Diego spice level and authentic hyd fare..and will give stiff competition in Fremont.

But the manner in which the order is taken and the way in which they bring out the sides, especially the salan for the biryani is definitely disappointing. We ordered two biryani's - an egg biryani and a chicken biryani and they brought a tiny bowl of salan, which all put together is 5 teaspoons for a table of four adults. Really!! Check 3 points: the food is tasty definitely!!! However, the only downside is that the paneer starter is not well marinated; so the masala was only on the top. The insides of the paneer was just flat and insipid!! Cleanliness is lacking, the dirty dishes are in a cart right by the booth that we sat at. So the stench was emanating. We had to ask for water twice when the jug was empty, so the keen sense of observation and customer service is lacking! Overall, a place you can go to perhaps once or twice, but don't expect good service. The food is definitely Yum.

Interestingly, although OpenTable showed no reservation availability after our time slot, we noticed several vacant tables about 15-20 minutes after we arrived around 7:20 PM. The restaurant makes a strong first impression with its attractive décor and inviting ambiance. The menu appears to span multiple cuisines, offering a wide range of choices for diners with varied tastes. Despite the size of the restaurant, there were plenty of attentive waitstaff, and service was prompt throughout our visit. Most importantly, the food was flavorful and well prepared. Combined with the pleasant atmosphere and efficient service, it made for an enjoyable dining experience. We would certainly consider returning.

We ordered three dosas and, given that the restaurant was empty, expected the service to be relatively quick. Unfortunately, it took at least 30 minutes for the dosas to arrive. The dosas tasted good, but I didn't find them exceptional enough to justify the long wait, especially considering there were no other customers at the time. Overall, it was an okay experience, but I'd probably go to other places for dosa where the service is much quicker and the taste is at least as good, if not better. The ambiance however was pretty nice !

They now have a restaurant (was previously a food truck at a different location) so went there last…read moreFriday evening to check it out. The place was packed. But luckily we got a table in 5 mins. The menu was almost the same as the truck but they have other items and cocktails as well. We stuck to familiar items. Roomali roti: very authentic but insanely expensive at $6 for two small rotis! Mutton seekh kabab: the absolute best in the bay area and spiciest but ridiculously expensive at $18. Steep increase from $11 (food truck) to $18. I get it that a sit-in place will be more expensive than truck but this is a huge jump for ground meat kabab. Lamb chops for example would be ok at this price point not ground meat kababs. Chicken Egg Roll and Paneer Egg roll: both were delicious but expensive. Kids loved them. Overall, I love the food but it is too expensive for the quantity. It is high time the owners either reduce prices or increase quantity of the portions.

Finally tried this place that came highly recommended from friends as a top Indian restaurant…read more It is a new restaurant with around 10 tables so quite small. Being small, it is a bit crowded and noisy. The best time to go in the evening is 8pm or before. Most Indians in US still eat their dinner after 8 pm, closer to 9pm so Indian restaurants will packed around 8:30pm. We ordered veg hakka noodles, Delhi dhaba chicken, butter naan, goat tawa, mango lassi and spiced nimbu paani. Veg hakka noodles was spicy but tangy and delicious. Large quantity. Kid loved it. Goat was very fresh, melt in mouth kind, and goat tawa was easily one of the best dishes. Delhi Dhaba chicken was authentic dhaba style that you get in India. Absolutely great. Butter naan very soft and crispy and goes well with dhaba chicken. Mango lassi and Nimbu paani very good as well. Menu pricing is great. Not too expensive and they give enough quantity that one entree and 1 naan is filling for an average adult. Kudos to the owner. This restaurant will be packed very soon when the word gets out. It is fairly new.

Maybe the best in the Bay Area (though I'd like a few more onions ;) The Pathar ka Gosht and accompanying Rumali were delicious as well. Finally, I enjoyed the Zafrani Mutton Dum Biryani, but I'll note it's not quite the spicy "Hyderabadi dum biryani" that you may expect. The drinks were fine but not as good as the food. The Saudi Champagne is a curious mocktail, and other restaurants make better Irani chai. The service was adequate. It took about 25 minutes for our full order to be brought out, which felt a tad slow given the relative quiet. The building looks nicely-decorated, but it could use a clean-up, including the restrooms. I'm overall happy with my experience and plan to try some of the other recommended dishes.

I actually said, "Wow!out loud when I tasted the chicken curry, even though I was dining solo. I can't wait to come back to try fish and goat curries and biriyani. I always told myself that if a place smells this good, the food had to be amazing too. I am so glad I finally tried it, because the food wasn't just good, it was great! I will definitely be coming back. Here is a breakdown of everything we ordered during our visit: Appetizers Chicken Lollipop (Dry): Flavorful, well-cooked, and wonderfully moist. Best of all, it had more meat and less batter than most other places, paired with a delicious dipping sauce. It has a slight, pleasant heat without burning your tongue, which is great for focusing on pure flavor. Naga's Special Apollo Fish: This was the absolute standout of the meal! It was packed with incredible flavor, featuring a fantastic mix of yogurt, curry leaves, and green chillies that hit the perfect balance of tangy, cool, and spicy. Main Entrée & Breads Butter Chicken: A wonderful, harmonious blend of sweetness and spice, leaning slightly on the sweeter side. It paired like a dream with our garlic naan. (Tip: If you prefer more heat, you can always check with the staff about customization!) Garlic Naan: Soft, perfectly cooked, and completely free of that dreaded rubbery texture. It had a generous amount of garlic, a slight crunch, and was the ideal vehicle for the butter chicken. Drinks Fresh Lime Soda (Sweet): Refreshing and crisp. You can choose between salty or sweet, and we went with sweet. Pro-tip: Make sure to stir it thoroughly before drinking, as the sweetness settles at the bottom! Service, Ambience & Practical Details Service & Ambience: There are plenty of tables, though it can get busy during peak hours. Even when crowded, the staff is exceptionally quick, attentive, and prompt with their service. Parking: The complex has plenty of parking spots, though it can get challenging on busy days, and some spots are a bit narrow. Keep in mind that the spots directly in front of the restaurant are mostly 10 to 30 minute parking zones, so it is best to park a little further back in the lot. Final Fun Note: Because the restaurant has such a wonderfully strong food aroma, be prepared to leave smelling deliciously like your meal! It is a small price to pay for such fantastic food and service. Highly recommended!

Unless you are specifically coming here to eat, I do not think you would normally cross this place. [[ Service ]] Since it's currently not very busy (very surprised since the food is good), the owner and the chef come around often to make sure everything is alright and tasting delicious. They were both very friendly and very easy to talk to. Service was very good! [[ Food ]] I'm always on the lookout for good deals and already came back twice for their lunch menu which starts at $14.99 and comes with Dal, Rice, & Plain Naan. I think its spectacular value and quite filling as well. Menu items I have already tried: 1.) Chicken Tikka Masala 2.) Methi Malai Chikcien 3.) Chicken Korma (they just updated their menu so this is no longer on there) 4.) Mango Lassi Their Naan is quite good and I recommend upgrading to the Garlic Naan which made it even better! [[ Conclusion ]] I really hope they stick around longer because I'm happy i found a new place to eat that is not too far away for me. They also have a second location in Newark so if you live there, feel free to try it!
