The ambience is neat and tidy a bit congested but nothing that's not expected of a quick serve south Indian joint. I've been coming to Dosa Hut for a long time now, and it's easily one of my favorite places around. The food's always fresh, tasty, and feels truly authentic. Went here for dinner after long time with my wife. Had kara dosa, mysor dosa & meduwada sambar. This is a small place, food is good, tasty. If item listed as spicy then it is spicy. Sambar & chatneys tasted good and authentic. I like when Indian food has original & and not modified taste. This is one of those restaurants. Filter coffee was good to top after the dinner.. Sitting place is clean but getting older, to keep up the competitive advantage inspite being small with the neighboring new restaurants, some cleanliness need maintained with modified lighting.. Food was served within 5 mins of order, this I think is a plus point, chef is good to fulfil the order. Cleanup lady and food serving person should be kept separate if possible although serving had no other issues. All in all good experience and I will try other dishes here in near future. read more

It's literally tucked into an alley across from the boutique multiplex that mostly plays Indian movies, and it delivers big on authentic South Indian flavor without the upscale price tag. A lot of people head to the more polished Mylapore a few doors down and miss out, this place may be smaller, but the taste is the real draw. The only real negative: the space is small and feels a bit cramped. That's pretty much it. Once the food hits the table, everything clicks. Service is excellent, and most items taste freshly made, exactly what you want from a South Indian spot. The $9.90 full thali is a standout, and a small detail impressed me: they actually give extra plates for the papad and chapathi, which many places don't bother with. Dosas, vadas, and rice dishes all land well on both taste and portion size. The salt level is slightly lower than typical Indian restaurants, which makes the food feel cleaner and easier to enjoy. Filter coffee is legitimately competitive with the nearby spot, only downside is it's served in paper cups instead of the classic steel tumbler-and-dabara setup. We usually like dosa from here, and so our movie night we decided to come early and have dosa. This place is following all the covid protocols and the tables are cleaned frequently. Went for brunch on a Friday morning. The service was fast and we got our food within fifteen minutes of ordering. This is our favorite spot to get dosa and poori. Ive been eating at Dosa Hut since I was a kid. It might actually be the best dosa and generally breakfast food experience in the bay. Anyone that says otherwise in my opinion is just wrong. I wish they grew their restaurant and opened more chains but alas one can only hope. Their Sambar is probably the best I have ever had in any South Indian restaurant. Cocunut Chutney is amazing and the Parotta Korma is soo good. But most of all the Dosas are on a different level. Nothing even comes close. Restaurants in the bay try to make dosas but i seriously think they are incapable of replicating the Dosas of Karnataka. That or they actively choose to stray away from it. But Dosa Hut hasn't disappointed me yet. You might call it nostalgia or whatever but my family and I keep coming back for a taste of real Dosas and we always leave satisfied. read more

We got bad experience in dosa hut. We ordered combo and there is a hair in Vada and they didn't even apologize for the incident and simply they said "we will change it". They replaced the plater after 15 to 20 mins and this time sambar is salty and not able to complete it. More over chef don't wear apron or cap to avoid this type of incidents. Management, please check the quality and service that you are providing and do necessary changes. Check in time 9:00 am 08/13/2022. Small restaurant and line to order was until outside the door - raised my hopes on that hot Indian breakfast! But soon after we entered the door, we saw the chaos in serving food. I observed some of the stuffed dosas were squishy and not crunchy like it should have been. So I changed my order, from Paneer dosa to veg utthapa. For the table we had medu vada order, my husband got Mysore masala dosa and my friend got Madurai Malik Dosa. None of the dosa, uthapa or vada were tasty enough for me to be back again here. It was okay - liked the fact that we could have hot vadas but that's that - nothing exhilarating about the taste. Place overall looked tight, too close of tables for my comfort. Our usual go to dosa joint is closed for renovations so we decided to try this one nearby. Took a bit to find it from the parking lot as it's tucked off the main strip in one of the side alleyways. Lots of good dosa choices. I got my usual rava dosa. Large size and the sauces were awesome! She got the paratha but I mis-ordered and it was the vege paratha which is basically paratha torn up and cooked with a nice mix of veg and a side of korma. This was a nice surprise and the portion was huge! The boss man came over to check on us when he saw our puzzled look on our faces, and explained the order. Nice touch. The only one minor downside is that her order took forever to come out. So we had to scoff as much as possible and then take the rest to go. 3 stars totally describes the vibe of this place. I've been here twice and really liked my meal both times. There seem to be a ton of regulars, as the place was pretty busy both times I went. There were quite a few parties dining in (during June & July 2021, while I'm still getting takeout only). I tried a few different items, but so far liked the masala dosa and paneer dosa best. The sambar is really good too! Maybe I have Americanized taste, but I've liked everything I've had here. Service is ok, nothing special but also nothing to complain about. Has the best dosa , coconut chutney and bisibelli baat in the Bay! I used to come here first almost 5 years ago and even at the time I had been impressed with the taste of food. Really good coffee and tea! And even after five years, the taste is unparalleled to other places I've gone to for Dosa! I recommend this place for those who want to be transported back to India with the smell and taste of the authentic South Indian food! P.S. Forgot to take the picture because we are too quickly.
