Finally tried this place that came highly recommended from friends as a top Indian restaurant. It is a new restaurant with around 10 tables so quite small. Being small, it is a bit crowded and noisy. The best time to go in the evening is 8pm or before. Most Indians in US still eat their dinner after 8 pm, closer to 9pm so Indian restaurants will packed around 8:30pm. We ordered veg hakka noodles, Delhi dhaba chicken, butter naan, goat tawa, mango lassi and spiced nimbu paani. Veg hakka noodles was spicy but tangy and delicious. Large quantity. Kid loved it. Goat was very fresh, melt in mouth kind, and goat tawa was easily one of the best dishes. Delhi Dhaba chicken was authentic dhaba style that you get in India. Absolutely great. Butter naan very soft and crispy and goes well with dhaba chicken. Mango lassi and Nimbu paani very good as well. Menu pricing is great. Not too expensive and they give enough quantity that one entree and 1 naan is filling for an average adult. Kudos to the owner. This restaurant will be packed very soon when the word gets out. Always excited to try North Indian restaurant, not that many that I re-order from.. randomly ordered to-go from here on Doordash. Tried their dhaba chicken and chicken boti kebab. The boti kebab was dry and I didn't enjoy it at all. But the reason for my 4 stars is the dhaba chicken - the curry hit the spot and it will make me a repeat customer. VEGETARIAN MENU: We had a guest visiting us who was vegetarian, so we ordered a full vegetarian meal. It was nice to try new dishes instead of our usual butter chicken every time. As usual, the food was full of flavor, and the curries were rich and creamy without being too oily. What we ordered: + Punjabi Kadhi with Pakora - the curry had a tangy flavor and the pakora were like dumplings. Very delicious. + Malai Kofta - these were like "meatballs" made of paneer and potatoes in a creamy tomato-y gravy. Yum. + Shahi Navratan Korma - cauliflower, peas, and cubes of cheese in a creamy, tomato-y gravy. One of our favorites. + Jadhpuri Onion Kachori - spicy, crispy, pastry stuffed with a delicious mixture of onions and potatoes. It was about the size of a donut. Great as an appetizer. + Lachcha Paratha - buttery flat bread with a spiral shape. + Roti (whole wheat) - a nice alternative to our usual naan. It's similar to naan but not as fluffy. I was craving some Indian food and not many Indian restaurants are open by the time I'm off work. I checked on Yelp and saw that this spot was open. I came inside and like many Indian places, there's usually no happy greeting or a smile. Which is what I was expecting. So I went and ordered chicken tikka masala, naan & Chana masala to go. I waited about 10-15 min and my food came out packed well. The restaurant is small and cozy. There's a few TVs and it was warm inside, but they had a fan running. First time here and everything was really tasty! We ordered boneless chicken biryani, chicken legs quarters, egg curry, butter chicken, malai paneer, and plain naans. My favorite was the malai paneer it was very velvety smooth and for me it had a really nice subtle sweetness to it. Portions were great and prices were reasonable, I will say the chicken leg quarters didn't have a lot of meat on them but very well cooked and tasty. Yummy! I got a bunch of dishes to try from this place. Food ~~ Chilli Soya Chaap: First time trying it and pleasantly surprised. The texture is good the sauce is like chilli paneer a little tangy and sweet and salty. It's definitely heavy on the taste palate and need rice or something to balance it. Malai Kofta + Plain Naan: One of the better malai kofta I have had in the bay! Very flavorful and the kofta was so soft and fluffy. The gravy was nutty and had a great consistency. Def want to get it again. Naan was fresh too and soft. Chole Kulcha: Kulcha was good they stuffed it to the brim. Chole was not bad but nothing really stood out. Mango Lassi: 10/10 mango lassi never misses Vibe~~ Very family friendly. Saw lots of big parties and families dining in. The decor is quite nice not luxury but also not too casual. read more

What a hidden gem this place is. The ambience is average for an Indian joint and while it's no hole-in-the-wall kinda place, it's not swanky like Khaati Peeti just across the parking lot either. Service was polite and courteous. The server checked in with us a couple of times which is always a plus for me. But food is where this place really stood out for me. We ordered a couple different things and they almost all got a high rating from me: Daal Makhani (4/5) came with Lachha Paratha. Perfect blend of creaminess and not overly spicy. Lachha paratha was huge and nicely flaky, though perhaps it could have been a wee bit thinner. Amritsari Chhole (4/5) - came with a stuffed Kulchha. The kulchha in itself was delish! My only feedback, a little less dhaniya seeds please. The chhole was also authentic tasting, thought the punjabis would disagree with me on the spice levels. Masala Papad (4/5) - who puts peanuts on masala papad was our first thought. When we had a bite, my wife and I both said, why the hell not!! Nicely crisp with peanuts onions and tomatoes. I would have like a few more tomatoes, but still great as is too. Masala neembu paani (2.5/5) a bit sweet and have had better elsewhere. read more

We ordered an appetizer of full chicken which we asked for it to come with everything else: side of rice; chicken platter; and one order of tikka masala with a side of garlic & mint naan. It was enough for all of us! (4). Service was a little slow. Waitress serving us was not that enthusiastic; however food was authentic and delicious. Asli Purani Dilli ka taste, right here in Fremont. We rolled in hungry and ordered chole kulcha, poori aloo, samosa chaat, chai, and mango lassi. Every dish was on point -- chole tangy and rich, kulchas soft and pillowy, poori aloo straight out of a Chandni Chowk Sunday morning. Best part? Not oily, not heavy. I tried takeout from here on a rainy weekend. I had the aloo tikki chat and the soya chap. Both were so well made . The tikkis were crispy and the chat was very well spiced . The sweet and little hotness from the spicy chutneys was really good. The soya chap was done well as well. The chaap stir fried with the veggies and the sort of indo Chinese food was good. Oh gosh, this dinner was absolutely delicious. We had some amazing food with great portions at a very very good price point. The Amritsari kulcha was perfect & hot with a blob of butter just like how I remember having it in Amritsar. The malai Chaap was one of the best I've had in the bay & their naans were yummy too. Perfectly seasoned & cooked! The shahi paneer was a bit tooo sweet for me but rest of my family did enjoy it so that's a personal preference. I must admit the smell of a particular aloo dish from the nearby table was irresistible & I really wanna come back to try it ;) I noticed they also had some $5 menu items (changes everyday I think) so that's another excuse to come back for sure. Newer place 4.5. My new go to favorite place for Indian food in Fremont. I tried the butter chicken, tandoori chicken, garlic naan and basmati rice. All dishes were executed well and super reasonable prices. Went well with the green chutney and tamarind sauce. The dining space is cafe esque and nicely done. This restaurant is one of the most delicious North Indian restaurants outside of India! I have been frequenting this place for a while now and this review is long overdue. This is the real deal- the closest you can get to an authentic Punjabi dhaba outside of Punjab. In particular their Amritsari Chana Masala is to die for! This is a complex flavored dish that most Indian restaurants don't get right. You had to go to Amritsar to experience the real taste - until now you can get it in this small unassuming little place in Fremont, California! They import their spices directly from Amritsar and the owner is also from there and they have mastered it. Don't miss this! All their other dishes are also excellent like the Paneer Tika Masala, Alu Gobi, Biryani etc but the Chana Masala is a must have! read more

New restaurant at the spot where The Nawab's Kitchen was earlier. The interiors are nice, reflecting the growing trend of casual Indian eateries in the Bay Area with modern, minimalistic decor. Food and service were okay. I ordered butter chicken. Gravy was good. Chicken lacked flavor and had too much fat. Giving a 3 star because we ordered a chicken noodle non spicy because my 7 year old was going to eat it. All they did was cooked it with ketchup and no chicken. They were giving out samples of their Chicken Tikka Masala with beautiful smiles during Pizza My Heart's grand opening, and I'm so glad they did because I finally found an Indian place I really like. The dal makhni here is to die for!! Reminds me of India! Buttery delicious goodness. You can get it as a combo with laccha paratha or just as an entree. We get it with the kulcha which also great! Food is excellent. It's typical North Indian which I love. Reminds me of New Delhi. We keep coming back because of their consistent taste. Best thing I like is they don't overpower food with excessive red chili which just ruins the taste. The service is good. I have tried their fish and chicken in curry and tandoori. Was my favorite place. The food is really good. I used to frequent twice a week either for dine in or take out. Knew the staff very well since the time it was Nawabs Kitchen. One evening I went there very hungry. The place was not very crowded when I entered. I kept waiting for an hour, requesting multiple times to the 2 ladies (Anju + 1) who work there to come and take my order. But they simply ignored me. Then the place started getting crowded and people who came 45 minutes later than me were relishing their food. I could not hold my hunger any longer, felt ignored and humiliated and left with an empty stomach. Since then, I never visited them again and will never ever. Running an Indian restaurant in Fremont does not mean that you staff inexperienced people for guest relations. Customer service is a key ingredient. read more

Tucked next to Safeway on Mowry, Delhi 6 (that is exactly the same name of a Hindi movie in 2009), is a small but comfy Indian restaurant. Although the wall art is kind of tone deaf to Indian culture, like the movie that failed in box office, the food was very compelling in its taste and flavor in most part. Drawing parallels to the movie, the street food items like saunf paneer tikka and largely popular biriyani steal the show like the Bhor bhaye song while Chole lacks the traditional Punjabi taste. We are long time Fremont residents and we were excited to try this place! To start we enjoyed the masala fries and the samosas. Can recommend the butter chicken and the chicken tikka masala - all was a great spice level and so flavorful. The owner was so kind and offered us dessert to go with a well spiced, delicious chai to end the meal.
