I would have given them 10 out of 5 if I could . Can't praise their gurer Rosogolla enough . Absolutely the best . In fact I think theirs is better than most of the gurer Rosogolla I had in Kolkata . Lil on the pricy side but totally worth it because of the taste and the size of each Rosogolla. I have ordered the sorshe ( mustard) fish curry and it was scrumptious too . It is not an upscale place but it definitely beats lots of upscale place when it comes to taste . Absolutely recommended!!!

Our review for Bongo's Bangladeshi restaurant in Fremont - Price point: $ (~$15-20 pp) ***Pro tip: On Fridays, they serve Kachhi goat biriyani! - : Bangladeshi (Bengali) - : Interior is small and can accommodate upto 4 ppl per table. It is clean and service is good. They have Bengali folk music on most of the time, which really elevates the experience. We prefer to generally order to-go and eat at the comfort of our home! - : 1. : Try this if you are a Kolkata biriyani fan. Honestly we think this is better than most Kolkata biriyani (Arsalan, Aminia, Shiraj, Dada Boudi, etc). The goat is super tender, juicy and perfectly cooked. The portion size is huge (comes with an egg) and can be easily shared by 2 ppl (10/10). 2. : This is very similar to Kolkata chicken biriyani, but has a unique taste. It comes with a huge chicken leg piece and egg. This is the closest to Kolkata chicken biriyani you will get in bay area (9.5/10) 3. : A very specialized Bengali dessert, the rosogollas (cheeseballs soaked in sugar syrup) are soft, sweetness is perfectly well balanced and the flavor of gur (jaggery) is strong (9.5/10) 4. : Another classic Bengali dessert, mishti doi (caramelized yogurt) is not as good as rest of the items we have tried here, but if you are really craving for it, this is the one of the only options we know in bay area (9/10). Give them a try, if you are local and love Bengali Cuisine! OF COURSE, WE WILL BE BACK (Overall, 10/10)! Recommended for: Bengalis, Biriyani lovers

Sadly not many Bengali, bangladeshi restaurants in the Bay area. This one is definitely one of the consistent Bangladeshi food restaurants. We have probably been here 20 times in the last 5 years (if not more). There is a difference between west Bengal and Bangladeshi food and this one embodies bangladeshi food. If you want to explore new food and want genuine, flavorful food- this is your spot! Give it a try. In door dining is very limited and can get crowded depending on the time of the day and weekend. Other items to try are moghlai porotta, fish or mutton chop, chicken roast, any fish dish. You will not be disappointed, Put those knives, forks and spoons away and enjoy it with your hands. You will thank me later!

Food: Authentic Bangladeshi food in the Bay Area. You find items like "Kacchi biryani", "Chicken Roast", and "Goat Rezala" which are very uncommon. IMO, Bangladeshi cuisine is more meat-heavy and somewhat less spicy compared to Indian cuisine. If that sounds good to you, you must check it out! Ambiance: You don't come here for the ambiance. The setup is very ad-hoc with 2-3 tables only. If that's not your vibe, order takeout. Service: Very fast, contactless payments. If you are ordering takeout, you will be in and out within a few minutes. Parking: Huge parking lot outside!

TLDR: Good food but really greasy! Chanced upon this Bengali food joint in Fremont. Known for their sweets Bengali fish is famous for their curries made in mustard oil. Not the fanciest joint and we decided to take the food to go. Tried their Fish in mustard oil -Sorshe Illish, Goat Rezalla and misthi doi! Absolutely loved the flavors and had the right amount of spice. Only concern was the amount of grease in the curries! Had to drain a good amount of grease before digging in.

A super chill spot with delicious + authentic dishes and great staff! Everything was a hit for me, including dessert!

Must visit for Bengali food lovers. Go there for the food not for service or ambiance. Tight place with good bengali food We ordered: 1. Fish chop 2. Fish cutlet 3. Chicken Kathi roll 4. Chicken biryani Fish chop, fish cutlet were good apps with mustard and tamarind sauce. Chicken biryani Bengali style was great, don't expect spicy Hyderabadi flavor. It's a mild but flavorful Bengali style. Chicken Kathi roll was disappointing with very dry chicken filling. Overall a good experience.

5 star for the rosogollas and 4 star for Chicken kosha. The fish fry and mughlai paratha however, was thoroughly disappointing.

It's a fully self-serve setup--you order and pay at the counter, pick up paper plates, plastic cutlery (which I'm personally not a fan of), and napkins from the front, and once you're done eating, you're expected to clear your table as well. Given all of this, the expectation of tipping feels a bit confusing. That said, we came here for the food--and it truly delivered. My husband is Bengali and was craving authentic Bengali food, so we decided to try this place over the weekend, and we absolutely loved it. We started with the mutton (goat) cutlet and Mughlai paratha. The mutton cutlet was adequately stuffed, fried crispy to perfection, and tasted really good. The Mughlai paratha by itself was just okay, but when paired with the aloo tarkari (potato curry) it became an instant hit. For the main course, we ordered chicken chow mein and Katla fish curry with white rice, and both dishes truly transported us straight to Kolkata. The flavors were incredibly authentic, homely, and comforting--exactly the kind of food you crave when you miss home. I really wanted to try rasgulla, but I was so full that I had to skip it this time. Definitely going back to try more items from the menu--purely for the food. If you're looking for authentic Kolkata flavors and can overlook the basic setup, this place is absolutely worth a visit.

They use paper plates, bowls etc which I am not fond of . We have ordered Kolkata mutton biryani from here before and they served it on paper plates which killed my appetite to some extent. They have special buffet menu during jamai sosthi for which price was $25.99 and again I was not impressed by the presentation. Regarding taste, I am most fond of their mutton biryani and vegetable chop. Mishti doi and gurer Rosogolla were not as good as I had from some other places . The outside of the restaurant is also not appealing. It looks like you are getting inside some kinda grocery store. There isn't ample parking but to be fair I didn't have issues in finding one ever . The stars are all for food taste and the owner who is friendly. I would rather get a pick up order and have it in my home than sitting and having the food there.

So when my friend (a regular) decided to take me to her favorite restaurant, I was eager--and glad I wasn't disappointed. Being a foodie myself, and accompanied by another foodie, we didn't hold back and tried quite a few items . We started our meal with seasoned fries (5/5), chicken kebab (5/5), chicken lollipop (4/5), and samosas (3/5). I prefer traditional dough wrappings for samosas, but the potato filling here was really flavorful. We ordered three entrées to share, and everything was 5/5. Chicken tikka masala with garlic naan is one of my favorite meals and my staple when visiting any Indian restaurant, so I know a good one when I try it. I wouldn't say this was the best I've ever had, but I was definitely not disappointed--both of us enjoyed it. The creamy goat rezala curry was a dish I hadn't tried before. As a goat meat lover, it's rare to find diverse goat dishes in restaurants beyond the usual curry or biryani. The meat was super tender, and the creamy, flavorful sauce paired perfectly with polao rice. And last but not least--my favorite item from the menu--chicken biryani. (Mind you, Bangladeshi biryanis are totally different in flavor and texture compared to Indian or Pakistani versions.) The generous amount of well-seasoned, tender chicken with flavorful rice was like happiness in every bite. I was especially impressed with the rice--it could've been my favorite part of the meal even without the chicken. When we arrived at the restaurant, there were three other groups dining. We visited on a Tuesday afternoon around 2 p.m., so I imagine it gets busier during peak lunch or dinner hours. The service was friendly and quick--we were well cared for and attended to throughout our visit. It's a small, family-owned restaurant focused on delivering authentic meals, so don't expect flashy interiors for Instagram. Just go for the food--and you won't be disappointed. The price was reasonable considering the quality and portion of each items. I'm really thankful my friend brought me here. If I lived nearby (I live in the Peninsula), I'd probably be a regular too. But I'll definitely visit again whenever I'm in the area.

Apparently their ticketing system is down and they aren't answering their phone. They are understaffed and only have two people managing the whole restaurant and can't handle The GrubHub orders, walk-ins, and reservations along with the online orders. After an hour waiting for my pick up order, I learned that they don't even have the food that I ordered. And, even though I ordered it online, because I ordered directly through the restaurant there is no way for me to cancel my order and get my money back. So I had to pick something else on the menu. My confirmation said my food would be ready at 7:20 and my substitute food will be ready at 8:30. I highly recommend that you don't order anything from here unless you have at least two hours, you're not attached to getting what you actually ordered, and you're willing to come in and find out that they never got your order.
