Was in the area craving some pani puri and found this venue via Yelp search. Glad I did. It's a no frills quick, counter ordering venue that seems to be known for this Indian street snack and a few other dishes. I chose the regular pani puri and a mango lassi. You can choose self-service, to make the pani puri yourself, or to stand and "eat at the counter" where they will make it for you one by one, as you imbibe them - just like if you would be getting them at a street hawker. There's about 10+ tables with seating for 4 each inside. After you order at the counter, they call your name to pickup your food/drinks. Service turnaround time was very quick and prompt.

Food, service, ambience 5/5. I loved their pani puri and plain samosa which was great with the chai. Raj kachori also had a good crunch. I am looking forward to trying other things on their menu

I am unsure of the reviews from more than one year ago as this is a pretty good place for Indian street food. The service was outstanding. The restaurant made pani puri customized to your liking of sauces and filling. The atmosphere is very casual. They ask you to bus your own tables and not too onerous. Overall the tastes were great and we will be back! Highly recommended.

It was an amazing experience at Chatpatta Corner, run by a hardworking and welcoming family serving delicious vegetarian Indian food. The vibe and ambience is very family-friendly and makes you crave more for the typical desi street food. We enjoyed Pani Puri, Aloo Paratha, Tikki Choley, Dahi Papdi Sev Puri, Kachori with Chutney and Aloo Sabji, and the super-special Kulfi with Gulab Jamun! The variety they offer is truly amazing, and I have to come again to try the other delicacies! Check out more on my Instagram food page @veggie_central

If you're craving homemade, authentic North Indian vegetarian cuisine, this place is for you. An experienced, super duper kind aunty cooks everything herself to ensure the highest quality. And when it comes to live pani puri stalls, they are the OG, serving for over two decades! Their kadhi chawal stood out for me- it felt like my mom had just made it fresh. Every bite was absolutely delicious. I absolutely loved the cute decor. The host as I said was super super kind and welcoming. Don't miss their 10% Mother's Day discount. Use the code "mothersdayspecial" when you visit them.

The gentlemen helping were kind and helpful -- Upon entering, we asked to dine in and were invited to a table by the TVs. The waiter took our orders and helped with recommendations, quick to bring extra items we requested, and even brought out my water bottle that I forgot at the end of dinner. Extremely kind, inviting and created a welcoming ambiance and experience. The butter chicken and goat curry were fire but the best dish was... The lamb biryani. 40% of the dish was of lamb. Very rare for a restaurant to provide such a big proportion of meat to carb ratio. The garlic naan was perfect, tasted fresh and steamed as I pulled it apart. Other places I've been to recently, I drank so much water due to the saltiness but not here. Overall, amazing experience and I want to come back to try the chicken tikka noodles.

Appetizers: samosas and mixed veg pakora -- these dishes were pretty salty for me so I didn't eat much! Entrees: chicken tikka masala, goat curry, saag paneer with garlic naan, plain naan and tandoori roti. The curry was solid and breads went great with them. Service: pretty slow as I mentioned. Took a bit to take our orders, although the food came in a timely manner. We initially ordered appetizers, and the waitress did not return for a while to take our order for our entrees. We had already finished all the appetizers by the time she came back. The table was full with our finished plates when the entrees arrived too so we struggled to make room for them -- wish they could have been cleared out prior to avoid the mess.

Until tonight that is , when I went to dine in with a couple friends. If you walk into a place on a Wednesday night, and all the tables are taken, that's a sign. You walk in and it smells incredible, that's a sign. You see people laughing and chatting while partaking from varied dishes, then that's a sign! We ordered the Naga special chicken curry, the brinjal curry and the shrimp mango curry( that comes with rice), and roti and naan. Portions are ample , place is clean and service is satisfactory. Our sever Gopal took care of us in a timely and friendly fashion. The food itself, I mean , the flavors are all there. Each dish tastes unique and you get a sense you are eating out. No home style simple cooking here, the spices are intense and each dish has a bite. Isn't that why you go out to eat? Prices are really good, if you consider what other places charge for entrees. And everything comes out piping hot and fresh. So don't wait till the weekend to try it out, go today!

Never quite experienced an Indian restaurant with so much attentiveness and kindness. Server kept asking how our food is and if everything is alright :) We ORDERED the special goat curry, butter naan and butter roti (we went to another restaurant before this haha). I appreciate how descriptive their MENU is as they do list the ingredients. The goat was tender, juicy and delicious. Server warned us that medium is super spicy so we went with mild which we did not think it was spicy at all. Naan and roti were good. Roti is a bit more dry than the naan. Would order the naan again. VIBEZ: Lots of take out orders. Lots of different cultures and ages dining in. Love the modern and clean decor. Located in a plaza with tight parking. Would I come back? Yes! Why the 4 stars? I wish they'd leave a tray of napkins on the table instead of the need to repeatedly ask for more napkins (because some of us/some cultures can't stand the oiliness on their hands...). I also wish there was more variety on their menu especially regarding the veggie curries... what happened to palak paneer? :( ...also found it to be strange that their online menu was different especially regarding the apps portion. Plus I always order rice and when I saw multiple tables ordering rice, it was just a bowl of white basmati rice...wished they'd flavor it like multiple other establishments.

It's just a little cold in there for some reason. We started with a watermelon spritz and the inji-puli lotus appetizer since we'd never tried anything like that, and it was very yummy and had such a nice crispy but soft texture. It was also a good portion for all four of us. We got the goat curry and the chettinad spice vegetables, and a few parathas to share. We were afraid it wouldn't be enough but the parathas are actually very filling, and also have a really great texture of both crispy and soft, and delicious flavor. The curries were good, could have used a bit more salt but good spice. The stars of the show were the desserts - this deserves its own section because omg I'm still thinking about the desserts!!! We got the gulab jamun brûlée - an amazingly well done take on creme brûlée with a perfect top, easy to crack and beautifully flavored. The filling was amazing and sweet and so so yummy. They also were kind enough to give us a complimentary chocolate cake which was absolutely amazing. I'm generally not too impressed by chocolate but the quality of this cake was phenomenal with perfect sweetness and richness. I need these two again !! Definitely recommend coming here for an occasion.

The space is absolutely beautiful, which explains why reservations are so hard to come by. I somehow snagged a last-minute outdoor reservation for four, but three more people joined us at the last minute. When we arrived, I asked a gentleman who looked like the manager if we could move indoors because it was cold. Even though they were very busy, he found us indoor seats in a perfect spot -- we definitely got lucky. We were a party of seven, half of us vegetarian. We ordered a bunch of dishes to share, and everything was great, but the vegetable biryani stole the show for me. I don't come from India, so take this from a non-native -- it was hands down the best veggie biryani I've ever had. The flavors were incredible, and it came with raita and a chutney that paired perfectly. I kept thinking about it even after trying everything else. Other highlights: the gunpowder idli was mind-blowing, and the lotus root appetizer (my first time trying lotus root) was a delightful surprise -- great texture and flavor. The dosa was soft and exactly how I like it (I'm not into crispy dosa), and the paratha with the vegetable curry was delicious too. The meat dishes my friends ordered got rave reviews from them as well, but I was still daydreaming about that biryani. Service was excellent -- the staff were kind, patient, and especially attentive to the kids in our party. When the restaurant is busy there can be a wait for food, but trust me: every bite is worth the wait. Highly recommend Anantara if you want a beautiful dining experience with outstanding food.

The Thattu Idli is still very good -- soft, consistent, and honestly one of the best I've had in Fremont/Newark. The three varieties of chutney are usually a plus, and this idli is the main reason I keep coming back. Unfortunately, apart from the idli, everything else was quite disappointing compared to how it used to be. The sambar was extremely watery with very little flavor, the vada tasted frozen, and the rasam felt like plain tamarind water. The chutneys were served straight from the refrigerator, very cold. At the very least, they could have been brought to room temperature, which is how most restaurants usually serve chutney for dine-in. We didn't complain at the restaurant because dishes like sambar and rasam can't really be fixed instantly, even if they are replaced. We also noticed that another couple dining there was complaining about the taste, which confirmed that we weren't the only ones feeling this way. The Kothu Parotta didn't taste authentic -- it felt more like chilli parotta and wasn't done well. This experience was especially disappointing because we used to order from this restaurant quite often last year through DoorDash when my in-laws were visiting from India, and they absolutely loved the food. Earlier this year as well, we continued ordering, but over time the quality seemed to go down, so we stopped. That's why I really wanted to dine in again -- mainly for the Thattu Idli, which I still truly enjoy. From what I've read in other reviews, this appears to be a Gen Z, woman-led business. I genuinely want to support women-owned businesses, so I will definitely come back again and hope to see the food quality return to its original standard, especially the sambar, chutney, and rasam. I really hope Dosa Express takes this feedback in the right spirit and works on improving the taste, because this place used to be one of our favorites and has so much potential.

It's simple and efficient, but not a full-service setup. Food: Urban Kitchen thrives on fusion. The menu revolves around three base curries, and from there, it's a choose-your-own-adventure: * Wrap the protein and curry in a tortilla with cheese and Indian spices for a quesadilla * Swap for small tortillas to make tacos * Add saffron basmati rice and roll it up for a burrito * Put it on bread with cheese for an Indian-fusion pizza * Or sandwich it in a bun for a burger There's even a Chinese-inspired section built on similar fusion principles.
