The three varieties of chutney are usually a plus, and this idli is the main reason I keep coming back. Unfortunately, apart from the idli, everything else was quite disappointing compared to how it used to be. The sambar was extremely watery with very little flavor, the vada tasted frozen, and the rasam felt like plain tamarind water. The chutneys were served straight from the refrigerator, very cold. At the very least, they could have been brought to room temperature, which is how most restaurants usually serve chutney for dine-in. We didn't complain at the restaurant because dishes like sambar and rasam can't really be fixed instantly, even if they are replaced. We also noticed that another couple dining there was complaining about the taste, which confirmed that we weren't the only ones feeling this way. The Kothu Parotta didn't taste authentic -- it felt more like chilli parotta and wasn't done well. This experience was especially disappointing because we used to order from this restaurant quite often last year through DoorDash when my in-laws were visiting from India, and they absolutely loved the food. Earlier this year as well, we continued ordering, but over time the quality seemed to go down, so we stopped. That's why I really wanted to dine in again -- mainly for the Thattu Idli, which I still truly enjoy. From what I've read in other reviews, this appears to be a Gen Z, woman-led business. I genuinely want to support women-owned businesses, so I will definitely come back again and hope to see the food quality return to its original standard, especially the sambar, chutney, and rasam.
