    Burnt naan

I arrived 12:30 pm, they take away the chai and said it's empty. The buffet is until 2:45 pm and the guy refused to make more chai! He said I need to pay extra. Crazy. Then I asked a refill on the Naan and he gave me 2 burnt pieces. $18 with tax, don't waste money here.

    Chicken Kathi roll.

Chicken kaathi roll had thick parantha, with omelette inside and a chicken sheekh kabab in the the center. No spice, no onions, no vegetables .... Nothing . Just bland. I could taste each of the 3 ingredients separately. Struggled to finish half of it. Keema parantha was dry. Chicken tikka kabab had no tikka in it, just burnt, dry chicken cubes on a some onion slices. Butter chicken was too tangy. Not going back. Do not recommend. Server was polite. Ambience was ok.

I'm sick and was craving Indian food and we decided to order from here. First off, the naan was so burnt that it wasn't even edible. It was the worst naan I've ever seen (obviously couldn't eat it because it was so burnt). Chicken tikka was burnt on some areas, pretty dried, and could be more flavorful. Everything else was okay (butter chicken, lamb biryani, etc). I hope they are able to step up their game. Otherwise, customers will NOT be returning.

great indian food in a casual atmosphere at a pretty decently affordable price. the mixed vegetable korma was delicious with lots of yummy veggies in there. the chicken tikka masala was also scrumptious and had huge pieces of chicken. the naan was okay, i have had better to be honest. however, the curries definitely made up for it. the service was very friendly - the restaurant was a bit empty when we were there so the server was pretty much just tending to us. i would definitely go back to try other dishes and i highly recommend samraat curry hut if you're in the area!

Yelpers If you like Indian food, go try SCH! Their weekday buffet is absolutely fantastic. But go early as they can be pack quickly for the lunch crowd. For $16, you cannot find another Buffet with the quantity you get here. I would give it a 5 star if the items are filled quicker but they do fill them as they run out. Here is a sampling of my lunch

    Their best-seller: Cholle Bhatura.

A friend originally from South India suggested we visited this place while visiting Fremont from SoCal, we were blown away by the delicious food and amazing service. We didn't know how to read the menu, but the gentleman assisting us was super helpful in breaking everything down for us. My colleague had their vegetarian version of Chicken Tikka Masala: Shaki Paneer. I had their best-seller: Cholle Bhatura. Everything is delicious and unfortunately I couldn't finish it. I def recommend their rose yogurt drink to break a bit of the spiciness from the garbanzo beans soup that comes with the dish.

Finally got around to trying this place. It doesn't exactly stand out in the plaza of other options but I was craving Indian food near me and wanted it to be close to Safeway to pickup things so here I am. Spice levels can be different at each place so I opted to be safer than sorry, and ordered a mild lamb biryani. Initially I was a little put off by the styrofoam packaging, but man, that's a mountain of a biryani. There are chunky pieces of lamb here and there, but the mild turned to be not spicy. I've tried other biryanis that were more spiced up and flavorful so I'd say 4/5. Portion wise, it'll be day 3 by the time I finish it. Great when you don't wanna cook wfh lunch! The butter chicken is just an entree in the small container. Doesn't come with rice. Thankfully ordered a garlic naan which was flavorful but wish there were more pieces to the order. Butter chicken was a lot more flavorful and I ended up mixing some of that sauce with the biryani. Will be back to try some other items on the menu.

Came here when I got a craving for some Indian food and was slightly disappointed Butter chicken: this was really lacking in flavor, I like that the tomato soup wasn't overpowering but it tasted almost flavorless/blandish after a few bites. I'm not sure if there was tooo much butter that made this happen Chicken tikka masala: actually better than I had expected it to be, spice level medium was perfect and had good flavor. Garlic naan: can't go wrong with pairing this with any kind of food!

The group was 22 people. There is no reservation so one of us had to come at 4PM to be on the list for 6PM. The line is so long and people are patiently waiting for good food. The price on this special day is $35/person. Yes, it's a $900 meal. There are quite a few dishes for everyone to enjoy, the nice thing is every dish is actually tasty, not bland at all. I started with some sashimi, salmon, tuna and yellow tail. The rolls are soggy and not crunchy due to being out so long or the seaweed wraps not too crunchy. The chicken wings are my favorite, very hot and tasty. The oysters in sauce are great too. I'm sure there are something good for everyone regardless how picky they are. The hot and sour soup I like. The fruit and dessert bar has plenty of things to choose from. The ice cream station is crowded with kids and adults too. There's a cook to order station like in many Mongolian buffet, you choose your noodles, meats, seafood, veggies and they will stir fry for you which is excellent. There are clams, shrimps, snow crab legs which are gone very quickly but refilled fast too. Anyhow, for a few people the $35 is good if you all like these food, but for 20-22 people, $900 can order many excellent dishes in a good Chinese restaurant. We may not be back here for another fee years although the food is great the service is very attentive and fast.

Lots of tables available, place is clean. Won't dine here anymore. I like world gourmet because of the oysters and king crab legs on a regular weekday lunch for $19.99. Lesson learned, at least I tried them. Also, their chicken wings were kinda tasted old, not fresh. They have chicken feet but it had no taste and It was hard. They have a nice sushi section.

For the BBQ, I noticed that the marinades and flavors were more bold and intense compared to other places I've been to. It's definitely a bit different from the typical KBBQ spots, but in a good way if you're looking to try something new. Overall, I left very full and satisfied. I'm surprised it isn't talked about more because I was honestly really impressed during my visit! The biggest standout for me was the barbecue. The meats tasted noticeably different from other AYCE spots I've tried, and I'm almost certain it comes down to the marinade. The flavor was deeper and more balanced, and it didn't have that overly salty or generic taste that some AYCE places can have. Everything felt well seasoned and intentional, and you can really taste the difference. The meats were tender and cooked beautifully on the grill! The hot pot was also enjoyable and added another layer to the meal. We ordered both the tom yum and miso soup bases, which paired well with the ingredients we chose. There was also a good selection of sides and add ons that helped round out the whole experience so it didn't feel repetitive. It's on a conveyor belt too! Another thing I appreciated was the service. The employees were very nice and attentive, always checking in to make sure we had what we needed and clearing plates quickly so the table never felt crowded. Overall this was a really solid experience and definitely a place I would come back to if I'm craving both hot pot and barbecue in one meal.

For the AYCE sushi restaurant, it was good but not exactly mind-blowing. The fish and seafood variety didn't taste like the freshest quality, and after a while, a lot of the rolls started tasting the same. For around $45 AYCE, I personally think there are better options out there. Some of the skewers came out burnt. Takoyaki was 1/5, you can skip on taht. But that being said, the service was really good. The lady serving us was super friendly and attentive, and overall the staff was kind and welcoming. However, there was only one other table besides ours at the time, so I'm not sure how service would be during peak hours. Now the cafe side, I loved it. The vibe made me feel like I wasn't even in Hayward. The sandos were really good, and the matcha looked amazing. I'd definitely come back for the cafe experience alone. My biggest concern though is the elevator situation. It wasn't working during our visit, and I heard it hasn't been working for quite a while. It honestly made me wonder how elderly or mobility-impaired guests are supposed to dine there. That definitely seems like something that needs attention.

LENT 2026: GOOD FRIDAY LUNCH…read more The first time I ate at Toro Sushi Stone Grill & Bar was the last Saturday of February for my mom's birthday. We had a private room for the party. Out of food that was served I really enjoyed eating the sashimi, which was presented on a platter. I also liked grilled salmon. During Lent I wanted to come back to Toro for lunch. I thought about getting sashimi or grilled salmon when I came back. A couple days before coming to Toro for Good Friday lunch I looked at the menu online. Why pay for the dishes I ate before? One of the dishes that intrigued me was the baked unagi fried rice. However the baked salmon fried rice sounded enticing. Also one of the appetizers sounded interesting was the sashimi pizza. My plan was to order an appetizer and an entree for Good Friday lunch. On Friday when I got a table I looked at the menu. The lunch special listed unagi don. Then I started thinking to myself. Why do I have to eat only fish on Fridays during Lent? Vegetables are permitted during Lent Fridays. I looked at the salad menu and one item intrigued me was the avocado salad. Instead of getting a sashimi pizza for an appetizer I choose avocado salad. Knowing a salad would not be filling I ordered the crispy salmon skin roll. For entree I ordered the unagi don. I'll start with the crispy salmon. A lot of people don't like to eat crispy skin of a fish. I love it. The crispy salmon skin roll is a filling roll due to the sauce, which adds flavor to the rice. Instead of a roll I would like to see crispy skin salmon as an appetizer as it would be similar to a chicharron. Regarding the avocado salad I liked how avocado wasn't skimpy in portion. There's one thing I don't like in salad and that is water. I understand cleaning the lettuce to get rid of the dirt, but the lettuce better be dry instead of water dripping at the bottom on the bowl. I came here for the unagi don. I felt I made a right decision of ordering the unagi don instead of the baked unagi fried rice. With the steamed rice I could taste the eel whereas the fried rice would've overpowered the eel. The unagi don was a filling dish and I believe if I ordered a baked unagi fried rice I would have felt bloated. On this last Friday during Lent I enjoyed my lunch at Toro Sushi Stone Grill and Bar. I liked the sashimi that was served for my mom's birthday party than what I ordered during Good Friday. I can see myself coming here again. Maybe next time I try the stone grill items.
