Came here on a sleepy midweek afternoon looking for pick me up coffee and a place to do some work. Glad I stumbled in at Dooby's. Casual cafe style eatery with Asian fusion flavors and American favorites, this is a good spot to sit and do some work or catch up with friends. Atmosphere: casual, bench seating with stools and tables in a upper level. Outdoor patio along the streets available. No parking I could see. Plenty of metered parking outside. Food: sandwiches, bowls, coffees, other caffeinated drinks and juices. I got the Korean beef bowl and it was delicious. Bowls are customizable and you can choose base, protein, sauce and add on any extras. We didn't try it this time, but they also have deserts and it look delicious. While Dooby's offers a bunch of awesomely flavored lattes: Miso Caramel, Chai, Banana Caramel, Gingerbread, Rosemary Thyme; can I just fan girl over the vanilla lavender latte for a second!??? The coffee itself shone through with balanced acidity, a strong lavender aroma, and a clean smooth finish. I'm already craving another cup. For breakfast, I chose the avocado toast which was generously served on perfectly toasted sourdough bread drizzled with premium olive oil and sprinkled with red pepper flakes for a little bit of a kick. So yummy. My boyfriend got the bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich. Although the eggs were a bit overcooked, the white cheddar and pepper jelly really brought all the flavors together. Dooby's is currently open for take out only or outdoor dining. They require you to order via their website. I saw this place on Yelp and wanted to try it out for brunch. To drink, I had an Iced Latte ($4.50 for a 12 oz.) with Maple-Browned Butter Caramel, a seasonal flavor for an extra $1, which was worth it. To eat, I had one of their popular items, the Brown Rice & Chopped Super Greens Bowl ($11), with Spicy-Garlic Chicken (extra $2), Spicy Sesame sauce, & Ghost Chili. I have to say, despite all the spicy additions, the bowl was not spicy at all (but to be fair, I do have a higher than average spicy tolerance). I did not like the texture of brown rice. I'm not sure if it was undercooked or old? For me, the beets were chopped too big. I would enjoy it more if it was chopped up into smaller cubes or even thin slices so I can have it with a little bit of the other veggies, rather than just a mouthful of one large beet cube. I also had the Korean BBQ cheesesteak ($13.50), which was more on the heavier end. It lacked some acidity to offset the greasiness. There wasn't enough in the sandwich to differentiate it from other cheesesteaks. I am unsure if the meat in the sub was supposed to be bulgogi, but if it was, it was lacking the sweet caramelization typically associated with bulgogi. If not, the use of bulgogi would be more true to the Korean-inspired flavor. The Cheesesteak came with a free side. I had the kimchi potato salad, which was a downer. The potato salad itself was bland, so the addition of the kimchi, which was incredibly subtle, did not have much of an effect to better the dish. It may be that the potato salad mutes the acidity and spiciness of the kimchi, requiring the addition of more kimchi to have an actual prominent, distinct flavor. Dooby's has good coffee, however, in the dishes I had, the Asian flavors were muted. Overall, for the price, there are other Asian fusion places that better deliver than Dooby's. read more

The reason Dooby's is my go-to are the options. They have a range of light breakfast options up to a full homestyle breakfast (HSB). The HSB while big isn't excessive. I find it to be the right size as an occasional treat on my long run days. Their potatoes are always perfect! Over easy eggs executed skillfully. I am not sure if the kudos go to the restaurant for properly packaging the food or the driver for delivering my order in record speed, either way, I was a happy girl! The food at Dooby's is amazing! The burrito was fat and filled to the brim! There wasn't excessive bread, just tons of egg and chorizo. The breakfast potatoes were also equally amazing, I snuck a few from my son, which really made me wish I had my own order! Dooby's is my go to breakfast when I'm in the city. Their steak egg and cheese is legendary and has just the right amount of spice in the sauce. Honorable mention, the sausage egg and cheese. Not sure where they buy the sausage from or if they make it in house but it was so good Bae ordered one of each just for himself. Inside the cafe is cozy and inviting while maximizing space. I always opt for the high top chairs as I'm usually enjoying my coffee while waiting for carry out. There are windows seats and average night tables as well. I often see people studying or reading a paper in the back section as well. I can't say enough about how friendly and energetic the staff is. I usually come on a Sunday morning and each time everyone is very...awake lol. I notice because I usually am not and they brighten me right up. Don't leave here without trying whatever specialty latte syrup they have that day. They are divine. I want to eat local, I really do, but this place tries my patience. Dooby's positions itself as a Korean fusion cafe, equally showing off their breakfast, lunch, and coffee inside an unassuming, yet modern decorated room, boasting a full house even in the dead heat of mid-August. I went for lunch, which is a decision I question in retrospect. Surely, though, it wouldn't be that easy to mess up a rice bowl, would it? My food was brought to the table with not even a passing word. Sure, fine; I don't care how rude or quiet you are as long as you don't insult me or spit in my food, but this isn't the place where they'll offer you water, much less check on you, and they even ask that you bus your own table. I can expect that out of IKEA, where the prices are lower because of that, but I paid $14.50 for my build-a-bowl. More offensively, it wasn't great. The ghost chili sauce is an overly salty, overly reduced, pulpy affair that brings to mind mole sauce, if mole had none of its chocolate notes. It's also not as spicy as the name sounds. Don't get me wrong: The quality of the ingredients is top-notch, with fresh foods feeling fresh and pickled foods being funky, but by making the vegetables swim in this pool of sauce, you've thrown the whole balance off. Less is more sometimes. On that note, while the pork belly was fried to a golden crisp, this may be the first time I'll complain about receiving too much of something. It's like why you don't want to eat more than 4 ounces of wagyu at a time. Remarkably dissatisfied with my experience, I wanted to give Dooby's one more shot, so I ordered a strawberry and cream scone to take with me. I couldn't stop myself from taking a bite before getting a picture, and while I was taking the picture, I wanted more. That scone changed my idea of scones. I have never seen one so fluffy and crumbly in the mouth, almost cake-like while still holding firm, and with a rich strawberry cream inside every bite, too. It had enough sugar to make all of England revolt, but you'll not find me asking what I care of the English's opinion. If, and I do mean if you go to Dooby's, stick with the pastries. I'm told the coffee's good, too, but I don't drink the stuff. read more

I went there for a quick bite an hour before closing on a Tuesday. It was quiet and pretty empty but the overall vibe and atmosphere was very nice and intimate. They had so many great menu items but I decided on the pork buns. I was VERY happy with my choice. It was the perfect portion, each bite was delicious. I'll definitely be going back for the pork bun and to try other items. I'd give it 5 stars but I ordered a green tea that was scalding hot and tasted like the plastic from coffee cup lid. I had that cookie at an event in Harbor East in 2018 and was able to track it to Dooby's the following year. Since then I've gone to Dooby's a bunch of times and have thoroughly enjoyed that cookie. I have never really been on the inside because I started going during Covid and in that situation you could order from the outside and they would bring the order to you at the door. I actually love the wings which are Korean style wings more than the coffee. My sister loves the coffee though, which tastes like a darker roast to me. I was a visiting tourist in Baltimore, and Dooby's came up as a recommended spot. Since my time was limited and Dooby's was a bit out of my way en route between airport and hotel, I decided to order to go. Placed my order an hour before estimated arrival, and the process was very straightforward and smooth online. When I arrived, I was greeted warmly and amazed by the efficiency of the people at the counter. The place was very spacious and it was a Sunday morning packed with customers, but I was given ample priority so that I can hop in and hop out with my order quickly. The folks at Dooby's were very considerate and the drinks are made when you arrive so it keeps flavor and is guaranteed fresh. I ordered the matcha latte and the tumeric ginger latte, and they even did latte art for me then put on the to go caps. It was definitely a nice and memorable touch of excellent customer service. Aside from the drinks, I also ordered their spicy Korean street style noodles and a matcha white chocolate cookie, both were great, but I definitely would have enjoyed the noodles much more if I ate in store. Sadly it sogged by the time I sat down to enjoy it it in the hotel. Overall, I would definitely revisit if I'm back in the city and recommend it to others! read more

It didn't start well and ended even worse. We were sitting in the upstairs dining room and I placed our order which totaled 36. and returned to our table. My lunch companion picked up her iced tea when she got the key required to use the restroom and we sat and we waited. And waited. Then I heard my name being called which I found odd, but I go to the counter and they hand me our lunch order packed in a to go bag. I responded that we had been seated in the upstairs dining room and I didn't understand what implied it was to go when I never said it was to go. They looked at me. I proceed to ask if our food could be put on actual plates and they took the bag and I stood there for 7 minutes when the person came out with our food on a tray, asked where we were seated and I once again indicated we seated in the upstairs dining room and literally had to lead the way to our table. Then came the food and the real disappointment began. I ordered bacon extra crispy and I was asked if I was fine with there only being three strips and I said yes. They didn't have the gruyere and caramelized onion scones - again - so I got some dumpling type things filled with what had been tofu, oyster mushrooms and other stuff was a mealy mess that didn't stick together and the sauce tasted like bottled hoisin. The bacon which was specifically ordered extra crispy came out chewy and undercooked and my friend's noodle bowl ended up being underwhelming, too. I've had disappointing experiences here before, but this one will keep me away for good. A waste of money and a staff that obviously doesn't care. read more

Asian fusion serving breakfast items all day also & focus on lunch/earlier dinner given they close at 8. (Except Sun.-3 pm) Breakfast items looked good for next time as it was dinner time. We ordered the Spicy Korean Street Noodles. Liked the light straight noodles with a few veggies & Dumplings. I was expecting spicier but it was spicy enough for others who tried the dish. We got it with Pork Belly which was thick and cubed vs flat and took this broth-less noodle dish over the top! As lovers of Cheesesteaks we had to try Dooby's take. The Korean BBQ version was excellent. Marinated meat (soy maybe) with provolone (traditional) & spicy Gochujang made for a "I'm ordering that next time" sandwich! Their Banh Mi with Pork Belly was also excellent! Pickled veggies, Kimchi cucumbers and jalapeños with their soft sub roll-can't go wrong here! A suggestion would be to have more protein options and include egg add option (Egg and Banh Mi go together like PbJ)-didn't see it online but maybe they would accommodate for phone order? For sides, the Kimchi potato salad was a revelation and must try! The Hash/diced potatoes were very good & a nice alternative to fries. I saw Scones when I picked up our order & looks like they sell out of some of the popular items early. Service was friendly and our online order was ready as promised. Hipster coffee shop meets Korean noodle joint! I can't believe this combination actually works, but it totally does. I got the spicy Korean noodles and they were amazing. It was full of broccoli, noodles, and your choice of meat, I got pork belly, and my friend got bulgogi. We both enjoyed the bulgogi more. There were also these little bubble like blobs in the mix, they reminded me of boba tea gummies, a very good and unique addition. I got a gingerbread latte as well, and the coffee was delicious. There is seating in the front on high tables and low tables in the back in a little room full of beautiful photos. I am excited to go back and try their breakfast. I was sad they stopped serving it at 11am, but that just means I have to go again. read more

I went outside, ordered my green tea latte online and per the instructions, "your order will be ready in 20 minutes". 20 mins later I walk back inside and inquire on my latte.
