Dooby's has become a Baltimore staple. And all for a great reason. I really, really love this space. It's the perfect place for a coffee meet up or to sit at the counter for a while to get some work done. The food is good. The Korean coffeeshop concept is something that Baltimore needs and deserves. If you're having more than just coffee and plan on dining here, the breakfast sandwiches are all amazing and the pork buns are also pretty darn good. I was not too impressed with the ramen or dumplings however, likely because I was hoping for something more traditional and Dooby's is in all it's glory a fusion cafe. My friend and I had just visited the George Peabody Library and were really hungry. Dooby's was within a 5 minute walk and super busy once we made it in. One of the servers advised me that we could sit anywhere we wanted to. We could choose from sitting at the bar, high-top tables in the middle of the cafe or sit-down area further back in the cafe. No matter where you sit, everyone has to order and pay at the register prior to receiving their drinks/ meals. My friend and I shared the Pork Belly Eggs Benedict and the Pork Buns. My pork belly eggs benedict were pretty good, but I've had way better. I ordered them because of the scallion hollandaise sauce, which ended up tasting weird. The pork buns unfortunately, weren't as good as expected. The pork slices were way too fatty to have a real taste, but the Gochujang aioli sauce was quite tasty. The staff was friendly but not too attentive. They were super busy, but in that case management should have more people working the floor so the service doesn't have to suffer. As a Baltimore newbie, all I ever heard was Dooby's, so of course I had to check it out! My science experiment is complete and the results are in: it did in fact live up to the hype! Parking was a bit tough, but thankfully my oh-so-patient friend was kind enough to wait as I tried to find a spot a few streets over. Dooby's requires you to order online and then pick up at the counter once you receive the email that it's ready. I personally really enjoy this system: easy, efficient, contactless, and thorough enough to allow for modifications. I came to Dooby's at the beginning of October when the weather was warmer, and sat outside for lunch. It was not crowded and there were not very many people around. The staff follows social distancing protocols and they all wear masks! Alright my fellow vegans, tofu-lovers, plant-based people: this place has many options! The only thing that threw me about this menu was the offerings, which were rather eclectic and not specific to a particular cuisine, but Dooby's does it well! I ordered my #1 favorite: a large oat milk latte (not pictured), which was incredibly smooth. I highly recommend! The waiter forgot a few times so I had to go back up to the counter to ask about it. For actual lunch, I customized a brown rice bowl with tofu. This baked tofu was to die for (in fact, my eyes are widening as I look at this picture). The order was packaged well and the combination of protein, sauce, and grains in this bowl was excellent! The portions are large and definitely worth the price! I ordered delivery via GrubHub on 08/07/2023. I got the Sausage, Egg, and Cheese breakfast sandwich; and the Bacon, Egg, and Cheese breakfast sandwich. I got both exactly as they come (the SEC has mustard on it; the BEG had a jelly). These sandwiches were amazing. First off, don't let the extra ingredients turn you off. They elevate the sandwich a lot. Secondly, these sandwiches were pretty big as far as breakfast sandwiches go, and will keep you full. You only need one. The Sausage was so juicy and good, and the mustard (which I thought I would hate) went amazingly well. The egg was just the right doneness, and the brioche bun was good. The Bacon was also good (I liked the sausage more), and the BEC was way messier due to the jelly. The egg actually exploded out the side on this one too, so be careful when you eat these. Both sandwiches were phenomenal and the delivery was extremely quick. 5 stars. Will definitely order again. read more

Dooby's has my heart. It's an east-meets-west combo coffee shop and restaurant, with both Korean-inspired and Western cuisine. Where else can you get a hot fresh bowl of Korean noodles AND a lavender goat cheese scone? Their entrees are delicious, and they always have a tantalizing selection of unique baked goods too. Their coffee and drinks are lovely as well. The service is friendly, the location is great, and Dooby's was always a fun place to dine in and hang out before the pandemic. I saw lots of people studying there too, if you're looking for future study spots. Hopefully we can get back to that life soon, but in the meantime let's all keep ordering carry-out and supporting this awesome business! read more

Dooby's sits right next to the Washington Monument in the Mt. Vernon area of Baltimore. A very historic setting which is suitable since it set a very historic memory in my Baltimore food experience. The Korean BBQ Cheesesteak was outright delicious! Since I've never experienced this flavor profile before it may just be my favorite dish I've had all week in this wonderful city. The beef was tender, juicy and contained a nice balance of spice. The bread had a perfect crunchy outside and a soft inside which paired extremely well with all the melted cheese entirely surrounding the inside of the bread. A perfect fusion of the classic cheesesteak with the korean beef flavor. The Kimchi Potato Salad was also tasty. It didn't blow me away since it tasted like any potato salad but it had a slight hint of kimchi flavor. That simple addition was enough to make it very unique and more enjoyable than the norm. As for the bowls, I tried the korean beef bowl with brown rice which was very enjoyable as well. The chunks of beef was really tender and it was lightly seasoned to provide just enough of that korean flavor. However, if you had a choice to stuff yourself with the Korean Cheesesteak or the bowl, hands down go with the Cheesesteak! read more

It was a rainy and cold fall day in September. Not fair for this time of year, but so it goes. We were seeking a place that was interesting and efficient. My brother called them to see if they had seating or if we needed a reservation. They Indicated our party of five should be easily accommodated. The reviews and the menu sounded promising and so we gave it a whirl. Let me tell you, we were not disappointed! The highlight was the pork belly sandwich. That was a solid meal --in addition to the pork belly, it was laced with interesting and spicy garnishes, including fresh jalapeños! Love it love it love it. I ordered the Chesapeake dumplings, which were good, but I did not realize it was a small bite :-) Fortunately, someone in our party had trouble finishing their pork belly sandwich. I eagerly obliged to help with that problem. The person who ordered avocado toast, was not so much a fan of spicy things, so they were disappointed to see it sprinkled with red chili flakes. Dooby's is sooo good! It's our favorite place when we visit friends in Baltimore. Most of the photos are pre-Covid, and now they have outdoor seating after you pick up at their counter. Vegans and carnivore will find something they like! All their brunchy food is divine. We loved the bao, like the Pork Belly Eggs Benedict Bun and Tofu-mushroom Buns! The scones are also yummy and unique - the Goat Lavender Scone was nice and flavorful and the goat made it kind of softer than most scones. The Avocado Toast is creamy and has a light punch with some chili flakes! I also LOVE their Honey lavender latte - it was aromatic and sweet. Just right for a cozy day. You also can't go wrong with their chai latte or their hot chocolate (hint - ask for a lavender hot chocolate for the best experience!) Their service is always great! Ordered the Korean BBQ Cheesesteak for delivery. The cheesesteak had cooled down a little by the time it arrived, but it was still warm. The bread was nice and buttered on the inside and the cheesesteak filling had a great fusion flavor to it. I think it would have tasted better if I had ordered it in person, but that's the price you pay to get the food delivered. Would order from here again. I'm so glad we tried Dooby's! There were several options that sounded amazing on the menu, so it took quite a while for me to narrow down to getting the Spicy Korean Noodles with pork belly. The noodles were perfectly done and had a good flavor. I enjoyed the soft boiled egg, rice cakes and the veggies. The pork belly was too fatty for me, so when I get it again I'll likely go with tofu or no protein. The vibe in this place is great! The local artwork features diversity and is very creates a welcoming environment. The tables in the upper area are limited for laptop use to specific hours (to allow for more guests who are eating lunch / dinner to have access to the space). The hightop tables / bar areas seem to be open for people to do work from. There is a bar with draft beer (may be other options but I didn't pay close attention). 1-visit-review. I was in the area and stopped by for breakfast. Selected their mushroom omelette ($15?) which comes with potatoes and "kimchi ketchup". I think the place provides nice cafe vibes with plenty of young people coming in and out, borderline hipster, so the items on the menu were on the pricier side. Interestingly Dooby's seems to offer something along the lines of Asian-fusion food. I would say my one-time visit isn't an accurate assessment but I thought food was standard quality although the cheese layered on top of the omelette was toooo much for me! Did someone say pork belly bao? Never heard of a pork belly bao Benedict, but it was delicious. I'm always up for trying something new and this didn't disappoint me. My only advice is to add a little more salt for the pork belly and order the potatoes fried hard. Otherwise a cute little place with a cool menu. My only wish is that we came a little later for lunch and could try other dishes. As soon as you walk in the decor is nice and modern and very cool. Dooby's: to start we needed to find a place to grab lunch with our three kids that was within walking distance of Peabody Second, it needed to offer Gluten Free Food Third, it needed to be affordable....ehhh it was on the pricey side for a family of 5 but not outrageous. And ideally, fourth, it needed to be accommodating for a younger family....for a busy time it was interesting. It has a small cafeteria layout - high tops mainly for those working (on laptops) and seated tables for those there to eat and chat. We got there just after 12:30 on a Saturday and it was full but not overwhelming. It was apparent we would not all find a table together so we put the kids at one end of a hightop and I sat with my husband close by at a separate table. We ordered the kids French toast which looked amazing! They said it was yummy. It was definitely a plate two of them could have split. My husband and I got a pork belly bowl which was ok. The pork didn't necessarily smell off, it just smelled gamy. The coffee checked the box. They offer various coffee drinks and mixed drinks but we kept it simple with drip coffee (and free refills). Had a Tofu Banh Mi sandwich plus a salad off a catering platter from Dooby's a couple days ago and was mostly satisfied. The Sandwich was quite tasty and not too spicy. I'm not a big tofu eater but would choose this one again. The salad was a bit disappointing, the greens were good and fresh but I was quite turned off by the dressing. Not sure what it was but it tasted like cold medicine! Even though the salad dressing was not something I'd ever want to have again I'd still recommend Dooby's for catering. The platter was easily enough to feed 15-20 people and even though I only had the tofu sandwich everyone else seemed very satisfied with the other sandwich types. The stars are for the food not the service. For it being my first time here I had very high hopes as I watched an episode of burgers, brew & que. When we walked in the staff did not acknowledge us. The guy behind the register didn't help explain to us how everything worked even though we told him it was our first time. Also I found it strange that everything but getting the food and coffee was all self service (i.e. sugar,cream for coffee, napkins, water even Togo boxes and silver wear was only on request). The buns for the pork bun was super good/chewy and taste homemade instead of store-brought. However, the pork was very tough, barely chewable. It'll probably be better cooked in a pressure cooker like instant pot. The lavender goat cheese scone-- can't get the lavender or goat cheese flavor at all. This is the kinda neighborhood eatery that dreams are made of. Delicious and forward thinking offerings, relaxed environment, chill and friendly staff. I love coming here for breakfast and a glass of wine after a long night shift at the hospital, for a to go latte on my way to run errands, or for a bite in the afternoon. The lattes and coffee are great, a rare find for Baltimore. I'm excited to try their other concepts, but it's hard to pass up a consistent and reliable standby! Each of these options were a pleasure to look at and to eat. Delightful Baltimore weather allowed for enjoyable outdoor seating, but when we went into the cafe after busing our tables (The team there apparently does that, but I've always been a consolidator and self busser) I did get to see the charm of the interior. If I could give Dooby's 10 stars I would. After seeing a re-run of Burgers Brew & Que last week, my husband and I made a bee line to Dooby's to experience it ourselves. BOY we were not disappointed. The hubs and I decided (since we really wanted to try 1 of everything) to each get a starter and each get a sandwich.....that we would then each share half of. Starter #1: Pan-Fried Chesapeake Dumplings I don't think I've ever met a dumpling I didn't like. The crab/shrimp/scallop filling? OH MY GOD!! The "spicy-g aioli" that topped each dumpling was amazing. I could bathe in that sauce. MUST GET!! I don't even need to talk about the meat. It was seasoned, marinated and cooked with nothing but pure love. Each sandwich comes with a choice of 1 of their 4 sides. I chose the Super Greens Salad and the hubby got the Kimchi Potato Salad. The Super Greens Salad was good, but nothing that made me go WOW. That Kimchi Potato Salad on the other hand......HOT DAMN!!! Ok I have been sleeping in this place for too long - the spicy noodles with tofu were absolutely amazing . Delicious flavor, crispy tofu, and plenty of food for the price (enough for two dinners for me). Just beware they they are actually really spicy - I have a decent spice tolerance and really enjoyed them but wouldn't have been able to handle any spicier. The inside of the restaurant is nice and clean, and the staff were all nice. Just know that you have to order at the counter, and the line to order can be long. But the food was really quick to come out! Outdoor dining is available, and street parking is available nearby. I'll definitely be coming back soon! read more

I see great Yelp reviews of this place, so I would not mind coming back to try their other menu items. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing when I visited! My friend had a dog with her, which is not allowed inside the cafe, but the atmosphere looks amazing to study and do work here! If I'm ever back in Mt.
