The second time I came in to use the balance left on the gift certificate, the manager acted suspicious and was reluctant to let me use it. This is a frequent stop whenever I'm looking to pickup donuts for my staff before finishing off the work week. Every time I bring them in, someone asks me where I got them and comments on how fresh and yummy they taste! The service is always great even though it is always so busy. I will say though that if you're in a rush, you may want to go elsewhere because you will usually have to wait at least a little bit. We recently went to the Donut Den and our experience was very disappointing. Overall, the quality was low, selection limited, and price unusually high. We got 7 regular, non-filled donuts with no fillings, and a dozen doughnut holes, and it was $16, surprisingly high. That could have been all right if the doughnuts were good, but they weren't. We got these a little after 7 am, before 7:30, and ate them right away. They all seemed hard, giving the impression that they were stale but probably they were just poorly made. The doughnut holes were hard with a terrible texture,not light or crispy. The glaze was also hard and too thick, heavily encasing them. The glaze was also yellowish and characterless other than being sweet. There was no good fried flavour or anything else. Glazed old fashioned was similar, hard, bland, with far too much thick, bland glaze, giving it an impression of being stale also. Raised doughnuts were no better, just like the doughnut holes (logically). Barely 2 stars for the quality. Selection was limited with no glaze/icing choices other than simply plain glazed or chocolate. 2 stars. Service was decent - neither good nor bad (3 stars). Otherwise, in feel and ambience, it's a standard doughnut shop. We'll likely avoid this place, but unfortunately these days there are few decent choices for doughnuts in our area. read more

Their crumb donut was crispy and crunchy. Great flavor. They made my iced coffee fresh and it was busy there. I recommend bringing cash unless you are getting something over $5. They do charge for using your card. I had cash so it was fine. This donut shop is only a walk from my office! I might go and try their Asian food that they serve for lunch. I am a doughnut kind of sore. I am very, very, very serious about my donuts. Every city that I visit I try to find a local donut spot. Do not offend me with Duncan, krispy, or duck, etc. These are not real donuts. Donut den is a level one donut place. Pretty basic, relatively tasty, nothing special. Not horrible but not amazing. I needed to score something to treat my work people and options are limited at 6:30 in the morning but the Donut Den was ready to go. In the west, southwest and southern regions of the US one can find donut shops run by business owners of the SE Asian community. I was once told by a Cambodian donut proprietor (in Chicago) that his country people are great at frying foods. I have heard similar statements from Chinese and Vietnamese donut proprietors as well. Out here in NorCal the "catch-all" donut shop is becoming a thing. Some years ago, I remember hitting a couple donut shops alike Donut den. Imagine getting your favorite donuts with a plate of Teriyaki chicken, rice and a filled bao. Funny that it's called Donut Den and it's located next door to a shady looking massage parlour. I imagine after one enjoys a depleting rub and tug session they can fill up on sweet treats and Chinese eats! (buh dum tss) During the recent holiday I decided to check out the den. This based on reviews and proximity to a barber shop I was trying to visit. I got a box of various donuts and baked treats. I also ordered a large bun filled with pork and vegetables (char siu bao). I wanted to try their Chinese food offerings but it was too early in the day and the entrees were not prepared yet. Bottom line. Donuts and treats are decent. Nothing out of this world. Their custard style donut that us Midwesterners would call Boston creme was a hit. I've had hardly filled and overfilled custard donuts. This was perfect and the custard wasn't overly sweet. The bao was steamed and just a mere okay in flavor. Those that love pillowy dough will enjoy the amount of dough you must bite through before reaching the stuffed center. Even then, there's not much treatment done to the pork & veggies that warrants the purchase. (imo) As a local donut shop with coffee and some Chinese food items, it's A-okay. I would choose them over a chain any day ie Dunkin' Donuts. Five stars for efforts and comforts, sure. But it's not a donut that can compare against anything gourmet. read more

Their bacon cheddar croissant breakfast sandwich is the best I've ever had. The croissant is massive, fluffy, and buttery. The eggs are perfectly cooked. There are several thick strips of bacon. The cheddar pulls apart like the cheese in a pizza commercial. It's incredible. And the donuts are always fresh and delicious. We first discovered this little place when we were moving and needed some morning sustenance. They sent me to pick up some food. So I, of course, thought of donuts! But when I got there, I saw that they had croissant sandwiches too. I thought maybe that's better, with a little protein for our long upcoming day. So I ordered four for our four people. Well, we could have gotten by with two of them. They were huge! And so delicious. Picked out a few donuts as well, and they were also yummy! A few days later when we were moved in and working on unpacking and settling in, we decided to try their Chinese food for lunch, and we quite enjoyed that as well! Mmm! This review is for the chicken noodle soup. The broth was really good, not overly salted, and had lots of small delicious pieces of garlic in it. There was also an ample amount of rice noodles along with dark meat chicken, parsley, and scallions. The broth was so soothing I feel better after eating it. I haven't tried the donuts yet as I am very full. They have a good selection, but you can tell the regulars hit it early (no maple bars left). There are photos on the wall of the very affordable Chinese food, as well as photos of breakfast sandwiches and other breakfasts they serve. All entrees are under $8.00 each. There are a few tables inside and they were all full. The two men that served me were very welcoming and friendly. I have been coming to this shop for as long as I can remember? About 12 years and have been nothing but Loyal to this place as much as to travel from Santa rosa to get me ham,egg& cheese on a croissant and I have them add bacon for $1.80 upcharge NO PROBLEM.
