Sophie the owner is a sweet lady. Great spot for your classic donut run. I'm an old fashioned chocolate donut fan and it hit the spot. She also has drip coffee, milk for the kiddos. Accepts card. She helped me walk out my extra coffee bc my hands were full. Very sweet! read more

If you want good doughnuts sold by the absolute nicest human selling doughnuts in three counties, this is the place. Sophie makes this place somewhere we remember just by her genuine warmth and kindness- she is a gem. The doughnuts are good too, and they are better than average even before factoring in her excellence. Location is easy to get to in the southwest side of Petaluma, and the business has lots of free parking in their shared parking lot. Prices for the doughnuts are on par with other shops in the county, but the quality is higher than most, and definitely better overall experience than everyone else. The store itself has seen better days, with muted, sun-bleached wall art, and molded seating, but everyone I've seen just orders and runs back out to their cars or to walk back to their places. I definitely want to continue giving this location business because they embody the experience I'd love to see more of in terms of personal care. Sophie remembers almost everyone and greets most people we've seen by name. She also sneaks in extra doughnuts with a wink and is just an overall delightful person. We will definitely be back for the fresh and fluffy fritters, the perfectly crispy old fashioned buttermilk doughnuts, and especially for wonderful Sophie. read more

What a sweet little donut shop. Its vibe is a throwback to the no-frills donut shops I grew up with- sun-faded stock photos of donuts on the walls, gentle paint colors, sturdy and comfy Formica tables, hot coffee dispensers that you fill your own cup with, and a glass case full of delicious donuts. They had cakes, raiseds, old-fashioneds, glazeds, and others. The owner is a warm and friendly woman who chatted with everyone who came in, whether a regular or a newcomer. Cash and card are accepted. It's tucked away in a little corner of Petaluma that is off the main roads and commerce centers, but so worth a visit. read more

$5 apple fritter, looks good, taste day-old. Ridiculous price gouging. 1st & last time I'll stop in. read more

This place is like stepping into a time machine!! I had a craving for doughnuts so bad one day so I started searching for the best spot. Thank god I found this place, I met the owner and she was sooo sweet. She makes her doughnuts in small batches, they were so good. I got like half a dozen lol. My fav was the plain glazed surprisingly but they were all amazing, esp the bearclaw. Best place in town for doughnuts no doubt plus I love supporting small local businesses. I promise you wont be disappointed! * take note her hours are a bit limited but open everyday until 1pm I think. read more

I've been going to Keny's from the days when it was still Winchell's Donuts (the west coast donut chain), and next to Hagstrom's Supermarket (now the schools office). As other reviewers have written, it is like a trip in the Wayback Machine to 50 years ago. I usually go later in the morning, but the remaining selection always has something I want. Great retro vibe, great parking. read more

Originally the home of Keny's diner from 1961. Now the sweetest little donut shop run by the sweetest lady, Sophie! Beautiful, fluffy donuts in all of the classics, with plenty of fancy sprinkles for the kids! Coffee, tea, Yerba mate and assorted cold drinks. Breakfast sandwiches (call ahead). She has lost business due to past shut downs. Next door to the School district office with plenty of parking. Support local small shops! read more

I was just reminded by the owner how long I've been coming here, even after a long hiatus, moved out of the area she smiles and remembers all my kids, now grown. The donuts remain as delicious today as 30 years ago. Yikes/ support this place but most of all enjoy the great donuts. Cash only. read more

Donut lover that I am, I somehow managed to live a mere 4 minute walk from this little gem and not even know it! Needless to say, I intend to make up for lost time- I love the buttermilk bars- and the ship has a pleasant old fashioned feel to it- the couple who run it are friendly and If not for COVID, I would love to stay and visit- but I run home to eat my donuts instead . Please go so we can be sure this sweet spot survives the pandemic! Go now! read more

I'm absolutely never disappointed going here! Sophie and Ray are some of the nicest people I've ever met and really take the time to interact with their customers. The doughnut are by far the best I've ever had! I've tried every donut in there in my 17 years of going. Even their egg sandwiches are awesome!! The doughnuts are consistent and each has its own distinct flavor, they don't taste like different doughnuts in the same grease! The location is absolutely perfect because of the high school down the block. As a recently graduated high schooler (not from the school down the street, sadly) I know there is nothing better than an affordable delicious breakfast hear campus!! I don't go anywhere else for my doughnut needs!!! read more

Keny's Donuts - Glazed old fashioned - Donuts Near Me - Petaluma, California

Best donuts in Sonoma imho. They have all the standbys and drip coffee. That's it. That's the review.

Best donuts in town, from by the nicest, sweetest woman. They always go fast, so the earlier you go, the more selection they'll have.

A true classic! Tucked away in a quiet neighborhood, you will find amazing donuts and even more amazing customer service!

Best doughnuts in town and the sweetest people ever. Can't say enough about how much I love this place!

Woke up with a craving for donuts this morning and saw this place on yelp. The reviews are true. Literally the sweetest lady ever and the donuts definitely look good and homemade. Very reasonably priced and she will fight you on accepting a tip lol. Would definitely recommend. A nice hometown spot. read more

Cake- The crust had a good firmness. Good consistency throughout. The dough lacked sweetness. It had to lean on the frosting for flavor. Yeast- Soft overall, with a soft crust. Mild to bland on the sweetness scale. It needed the glaze to give it some life. The moisture was adequate. Glaze was good, not too heavy, but was the only thing that made it worthwhile. Overal, I was not impressed. The old fashioned was good. Mild dough sweetness, somewhat firm crust and the glaze was a good accent. Recomended. The buttermilk was phenominal. The crust was firm, the dough was fairly consistent and the glaze was light and gentle on the tongue. The real impact, though, was the bold and wholesome buttermilk flavor; there was no subtlety- it took the center stage and combined with the glaze, crust and dough- very recommended. read more

This place has been around as long as I can remember! We used to go get donuts from Sophie before school! And during high school in my yearbook class we went to keny's for donuts and milk! Love this place. I hope they stay here forever! read more

There are just those days when you need and old school donut. This place has been here well over 40 years, for sure for as long as I can remember. I want to say that waaaay back when I was a kid, this was actually a little diner. The woman behind the counter is super nice, welcoming and very friendly. You can tell she has her regulars the come in every day, and the students of course. The donuts are fresh and the maple glaze is solid. There is a good variety of all the usual suspects-raised glaze, old fashions, maple and buttermilk bars. Good strong coffee and ice cold milk. What more could you ask for? read more

These are the best donuts in town, if your craving a donut don't settle, go in buy any flavor you like and something you have never tried but always wanted to. Odd location. You think. Your GPS is off because you are driving through a residential area and then there's a tiny shopping center tp that houses the little donut shop. Good selection. Super nice owner with a lovely twinkle about her. We could all use her robust enthusiasm for the break of a new day! Old fashions and maple bars were the best. A little above average. read more

A great little place. They are generous to us at PHS, which is one of their biggest customers through out the week. I'd give them a 5 star if they weren't a $1 a donut. Just a bit too much read more

How in the world can any small business in this day and age not accept credit/debit cards? Rather than having a sign that lights up on the door that says "open" they should have a sign on the door that says "cash only" to save you and your kid the time of going in choosing your selection and then being told that they don't take cards! They don't have an ATM machine, and there are no banks nearby... so they are just losing tons of business! makes no sense to me. read more

I can't believe I've neglected to write a review of Keny's, after more than a decade of enjoying their hospitality and outstanding doughnuts!! So ashamed of myself! I used to live across the street from Keny's, and often went over with my kids for a special treat. Sophie greets us with a smile, asks after any family members who isn't with us, and actually remembers us in spite of visiting less frequently since moving out of petaluma. I have never had better doughnuts. Anywhere. Ever. Fresh, delicious, not greasy. Extraordinary. The maple glaze tastes like MAPLE, not just a tan version of the vanilla. The chocolate glAze is chocolaty, but doesn't overpower the light doughnuts. My favorite is the buttermilk: moist, tangy, and just the right amount of light glAze. And Sophie always remembers, and starts to get one ready when she sees me walk in. This wonderful family definitely deserves your business! If you are in petaluma, or just passing through, do make an effort to grab some of their doughnuts. You won't regret it!! read more
