Do not order the tenders. We ordered the chicken tenders in soy garlic and the very spicy tenders. Both came out super crispy on the outside. But then the meat is dry and flavorless. The problem? I should have known ordering white meat was a bad idea. Should have stuck to boned-in chicken. The chicken tenders are huge--the size of half a chicken breast. So, to cook the outside to a good crisp, the meat has to cook longer, yielding dry dry meat. The sauces were also bleh. The hot donkey mo's sauce was not really that spicy, but it was one note--spice with no umami. And the soy garlic was hardly detectable. Brussels sprouts are over sauced, radishes had little crunch. The only thing worth ordering again were the very crispy fries. I might come back if I'm on a desperate need for chicken in the neighborhood and to try some of their other flavors, but Austin has better options in town. read more

So good! Crispy seasoned batter and juicy fresh chicken. The quality of the ingredients are really good and you can tell they use fresh clean oil. Everything tasted great and the service was great as well. It's a no frills no table service joint that appears to do a lot of takeout/delivery service but we dined in and enjoyed having freshly fried hot and delicious crunchy chicken. The unassuming retail front of Donkey Mo's on Airport betrays a top quality fried chicken restaurant. The batter fried birds are moist and tender and as far as I can tell, are always cooked to order. The Korean style batter is crunchy but never heavy and pairs well with the variety of soy and chili spice sauces offered with the various options. The chicken sandwich comes in a tender bun sauced and dressed thoughtfully making it a perfect option if you like a generous meal in the hand. Chicken tenders and nuggets are served in a manner that makes the Colonel and the Clown , Peri-peri expensive and Chemical fil-AY utterly forgettable. Besides the perfect fried chicken the onion rings and fries are highly gratifying and the fried Brussel sprouts will change your belief system. The place is immaculately clean, uncluttered, and seating is very reasonable for couples and small groups. The counter service is kind, patient, and the menu is filled with only great options (although I still have many new things to try - I see churros in my future!) *Warning! I recommend if you order the very spicy Holy Donkey sauce, and can't handle heat, ask for it on the side since most dishes come already sauced from the kitchen and Holy Donkey is delicious but is FIRE. IMO this is the best Korean fried chicken in ATX (and I've tried nearly all of them)! The chicken is always juicy and tender and there's a good ratio of meat to coating. They don't skimp on the sauce like some other places do. I'm also a fan of the blistered shishito peppers--simple and flavorful with just the right amount of char. I've ordered takeout in store and online and both times the orders were fast and packaged well. The interior is a little small, but perfect for groups of 4 or less. Recently had Donkey Mo's Korean fried chicken at the Austin Asian American Film Festival. The broiled brussel sprouts and French fries were delicious and crispy perfection . The sauces are a great accompaniment to the crispy chicken. The chicken was juicy and the food was fresh. I had a Stella Artois with my chicken and veggies. I don't have pics of the food because it was so delicious! Will definitely come back with a my friends. The restaurant is cozy social space and the servers are friendly but also attentive. This was really tasty and lived up to the hype! Split a ten piece combo with my partner, which was the perfect amount of food. Half sweet & spicy and half spicy. I preferred the spicy sauce, the sweet & spicy was a little too sweet for me. But my partner preferred the sweet & spicy so it's all up to preference! Can't go wrong! Next time I'll try the soy garlic. Breading was immaculate and chicken was juicy. Only complaint is I would prefer them to be tossed in sauce rather than drizzled with sauce. I'm not a sweet potato fry fan, but these were actually pretty good. They were seasoned well and crispy, which isn't usually the case for sweet potato fries. Dining area is small so I would anticipate it being busy in the evening, but we easily found a table for lunch! Front of house staff was great too. We'll be back to try more! read more

Moving from SoCal, I've had a bit of a harder time finding delicious Asian food in Austin and a good Korean fried chicken spot that isn't a huge chain. I'm so thrilled that we now can say we have Donkey Mo's! It's been roughly two weeks since I visited here and I am STILL DAYDREAMING about this chicken!!! My husband and I visited with a big group of friends and found it to be the perfect place for socializing plus delicious bites. The chicken was fried perfectly but still super juicy, and the sauces were so complimentary and didn't make the chicken soggy at all. My favorite of the sauces was soy garlic, which was surprising because I typically go for the spicier options but the soy garlic was so perfectly balanced and flavorful that I kept going back to it. Plus, they are really great sized pieces - even the tenders are HUGE! As for sides, I really enjoyed the Brussels sprouts and the onion rings. The service was super quick and really kind. I hope to come back often, and I definitely would recommend them to anyone curious. Donkey Mo's is worth the visit. Pre-pandemic, they were my favorite chicken wing place in town. They are still great but the Austin wing game has since ballooned--the number and variety of good wings places now makes for a crowded field. This was our first visit to their new location which was super clean and fresh. The staff were friendly and the wings were delicious, though I remember them being crispier back in the day. In order, I prefer their soy garlic, sweet & spicy, and sweet & sour sauces. Their onion rings were great and fries were salted great and above average. The prices feel like what you would expect in this inflationary climate and I wish the prices were 10-15% lower. I did prefer when they were at H-Mart as that gave you the opportunity to eat non-wing food as well. However, we'll be back! read more
