Food was okay until I found a giant hair! They need to wear hairnets while prepping food. It will be a long time before I head back. read more

Finally trying donkey mo, after I heard lots of good things about them! It's a super casual, order at the counter type deal, with a good amount of parking outside. Staff were nice but food took awhile to come even though there weren't too many people. The chicken was good as it was crispy and not too oily. But the sauces were a little too salty for my liking. I also wished they had white rice as a side dish. If you're looking for a more fusion type experience, this is the place for you, but I prefer the traditional Korean fried chicken instead. read more

The BEST fried chicken tenders - large, savory and CRISPY! My mouth is watering just writing this review! The have a wonderful assortment of sauces, but i prefer them Naked! They go to great lengths SUSTAINABLY packaging to go orders to be VENTILATED so the chicken doesn't get soggy. There are several unique side choices that are delicious & brussels that I order again and again! Shishito peppers, onion rings, sweet potato & bacon-kimchi fries, fried pickles, cream corn, pot stickers.... The SERVICE is EXCEPTIONAL - they want to make it right for their customer! The ambiance is modern, the inside inside on the smaller side, a good place to grab a quick bite. The only things I would want to suggest adding is serving soju and a covered outdoor deck/seating area ( with plants). Pleeeeeeease stick around Donkey Mo's!!! Salanghaeyo !!! read more

So good! Crispy seasoned batter and juicy fresh chicken. The quality of the ingredients are really good and you can tell they use fresh clean oil. Everything tasted great and the service was great as well. It's a no frills no table service joint that appears to do a lot of takeout/delivery service but we dined in and enjoyed having freshly fried hot and delicious crunchy chicken. The pickled radish recipe they use is accurate af, chefs kiss! read more

Best Korean chicken place in Austin!!! We got the 12 piece nuggets (soy), spicy fried rice cakes, and the hot dog. Everything was delicious!!!! Definitely try out the hot dog! The workers are also very kind. The place has a Korean pub bar vibe to it. A fun and affordable place to go with your friends. read more

We ordered 10 jumbo wings with the soy garlic and the sweet n spicy sauces. We also had the holy donkey sauce on the side. The wings were HUGE and perfectly cooked, plus the sauces were amazing as well! I highly recommend to anyone who enjoys wings! Not pictured, but their cream corn was to die for and I'd gladly go back just for the corn. The service was also incredible, and the staff were really kind! read more

It was, aite. More catered towards Western palette I think-- sauce was sweeter than it was spicy. I liked the chicken breading and crunch/crispiness, but the sauce was more so layered on top of chicken instead of tossed. Clean, smaller area, and good service. read more

Do not order the tenders. We ordered the chicken tenders in soy garlic and the very spicy tenders. Both came out super crispy on the outside. But then the meat is dry and flavorless. The problem? I should have known ordering white meat was a bad idea. Should have stuck to boned-in chicken. The chicken tenders are huge--the size of half a chicken breast. So, to cook the outside to a good crisp, the meat has to cook longer, yielding dry dry meat. The sauces were also bleh. The hot donkey mo's sauce was not really that spicy, but it was one note--spice with no umami. And the soy garlic was hardly detectable. Brussels sprouts are over sauced, radishes had little crunch. The only thing worth ordering again were the very crispy fries. I might come back if I'm on a desperate need for chicken in the neighborhood and to try some of their other flavors, but Austin has better options in town. read more

We ate at Donkey Mo's for the first time today. All I have to say is AMAZING! The food was spectacular. Best food we've had in Austin thus far. Highly recommend! The customer service was amazing. josh took our order and took great care of us. VERY friendly and had great recommendations. Iliana also took fantastic care of us she was very sweet and personable. If you haven't been to Donkey Mo's don't want, RUN! What we ordered - Chicken nuggets with soy garlic sauce (SO GOOD!) and sweet and spicy sauce. Shishito peppers (pleasantly surprised with these!), bacon kimchi fries, fried pickles, chicken dumplings read more

Had an awesome experience having lunch here. Spicy, crispy, well priced, and great customer service!! I will be back!!

IMO this is the best Korean fried chicken in ATX (and I've tried nearly all of them)! The chicken is always juicy and tender and there's a good ratio of meat to coating. They don't skimp on the sauce like some other places do. I'm also a fan of the blistered shishito peppers--simple and flavorful with just the right amount of char. I've ordered takeout in store and online and both times the orders were fast and packaged well. The interior is a little small, but perfect for groups of 4 or less. Every time I've gone in, they have been busy, which is great! read more

Best Korean style chicken in Austin! Just two chicken tenders (with honey spice sauce) is enough food for a meal. I also love their onion rings as they are both greasy but rather have a perfect crust. read more

Tried Donkey MO's for the first time today and it exceeded my expectations! The soy garlic chicken wings were super crispy and delicious. My only complaint are the fries. They cost $3.50 and there weren't that many and they just tasted okay. I went at 5:30pm and there was no wait. Can't wait to try more flavors! read more

This was really tasty and lived up to the hype! Split a ten piece combo with my partner, which was the perfect amount of food. Half sweet & spicy and half spicy. I preferred the spicy sauce, the sweet & spicy was a little too sweet for me. But my partner preferred the sweet & spicy so it's all up to preference! Can't go wrong! Next time I'll try the soy garlic. Breading was immaculate and chicken was juicy. Only complaint is I would prefer them to be tossed in sauce rather than drizzled with sauce. I'm not a sweet potato fry fan, but these were actually pretty good. They were seasoned well and crispy, which isn't usually the case for sweet potato fries. Dining area is small so I would anticipate it being busy in the evening, but we easily found a table for lunch! Front of house staff was great too. We'll be back to try more! read more

Food: 4.9 / 5 - VERY juicy AND crunchy Korean Fried chicken. I didn't try other flavors or items on the menu which is why I'm docking 0.1 points Service: 5 / 5 - No complaints at all! Everyone was nice Cleanliness: 5 / 5 - VERY clean as it's a brand new location! Parking: 4.95 / 5 - We went during dinner time and the parking was pretty easy. Kind of funky but it's not the restaurants fault. Price: 4.6 / 5 - 10 jumbo wings for $18.99 is a little more on the pricey end but it's still worth it. Docking some points because the pickled radish wasn't included at all and it usually is -- gillynova read more

The chicken was not seasoned or even marinated in any kind of flavor. Basically fried chicken with sauce on it-pass! Will not order again. The Brussels sprouts I did not know they came smothered in whatever kind of sauce that was. I threw them in the garbage. Very disappointed. read more

Best Korean Chicken wings around! visited for eat in, and asked for suggestions, sauce type, sauce on side , also wings or tenders wings were very good visited again for takeout ( as it was lines were long to pickup first time, so must be good ) . ordered hottest sauce ( they gave me ON SIDE without asking, this was the BEST decision, as when I added sauce home, wings retained their crispyness and were THE BEST, hot, crispy and spicy ordered takeout 2nd time ( did not ask for sauce on the side, as I thought this was default) mistake, as wings were GOOD, but little soggy from the ride home. order on side for take out and you will be rewarded ;) read more

Recently had Donkey Mo's Korean fried chicken at the Austin Asian American Film Festival. The broiled brussel sprouts and French fries were delicious and crispy perfection . The sauces are a great accompaniment to the crispy chicken. The chicken was juicy and the food was fresh. I had a Stella Artois with my chicken and veggies. I don't have pics of the food because it was so delicious! Will definitely come back with a my friends. The restaurant is cozy social space and the servers are friendly but also attentive. The manager was attentive at the AAAFF event. read more

Donkey Mo's was a solid spot for Korean fried chicken! They have a good variety of different sauces and sides-- I went with the spicy and sweet and the soy garlic. The wings were pretty tender and were cooked well. The ambiance was a little bare; you can tell they just opened recently so there's not much decoration on the walls or anything. Not my favorite KFC place necessarily but I would go back here again. read more

Donkey Mo’s - 10 piece wing combo with spicy & sweet and soy garlic, with a side of fries - Korean Near Me - Austin, Texas

Moving from SoCal, I've had a bit of a harder time finding delicious Asian food in Austin and a good Korean fried chicken spot that isn't a huge chain. I'm so thrilled that we now can say we have Donkey Mo's! It's been roughly two weeks since I visited here and I am STILL DAYDREAMING about this chicken!!! My husband and I visited with a big group of friends and found it to be the perfect place for socializing plus delicious bites. The chicken was fried perfectly but still super juicy, and the sauces were so complimentary and didn't make the chicken soggy at all. My favorite of the sauces was soy garlic, which was surprising because I typically go for the spicier options but the soy garlic was so perfectly balanced and flavorful that I kept going back to it. Plus, they are really great sized pieces - even the tenders are HUGE! As for sides, I really enjoyed the Brussels sprouts and the onion rings. The service was super quick and really kind. I hope to come back often, and I definitely would recommend them to anyone curious. I can't wait to bring our family to visit them when they visit from abroad, it's so good that I think it's a must visit! read more

Donkey Mo's is worth the visit. Pre-pandemic, they were my favorite chicken wing place in town. They are still great but the Austin wing game has since ballooned--the number and variety of good wings places now makes for a crowded field. This was our first visit to their new location which was super clean and fresh. The staff were friendly and the wings were delicious, though I remember them being crispier back in the day. In order, I prefer their soy garlic, sweet & spicy, and sweet & sour sauces. Their onion rings were great and fries were salted great and above average. The prices feel like what you would expect in this inflationary climate and I wish the prices were 10-15% lower. I did prefer when they were at H-Mart as that gave you the opportunity to eat non-wing food as well. However, we'll be back! read more

The unassuming retail front of Donkey Mo's on Airport betrays a top quality fried chicken restaurant. The batter fried birds are moist and tender and as far as I can tell, are always cooked to order. The Korean style batter is crunchy but never heavy and pairs well with the variety of soy and chili spice sauces offered with the various options. The chicken sandwich comes in a tender bun sauced and dressed thoughtfully making it a perfect option if you like a generous meal in the hand. Chicken tenders and nuggets are served in a manner that makes the Colonel and the Clown , Peri-peri expensive and Chemical fil-AY utterly forgettable. Besides the perfect fried chicken the onion rings and fries are highly gratifying and the fried Brussel sprouts will change your belief system. The place is immaculately clean, uncluttered, and seating is very reasonable for couples and small groups. The counter service is kind, patient, and the menu is filled with only great options (although I still have many new things to try - I see churros in my future!) *Warning! I recommend if you order the very spicy Holy Donkey sauce, and can't handle heat, ask for it on the side since most dishes come already sauced from the kitchen and Holy Donkey is delicious but is FIRE. If you find hot and spicy unappetizing simply order any other sauce and you will find them delicious and mild. You won't want your tongue going numb as you will need it to heap thanks & gratitude on the cooks and staff for an extremely memorable Korean chicken experience! Not near Hyde Park? Order delivery from your fave service and get sauce on the side to keep the bird crispy(7 days a week, open until 9!! Why is no one ever open past 6?) Eat at Donkey Mo's! read more
