Soy Garlic and holy donkey flavors : 10 Wings combo with French fries
Scarlett T.

I ordered an UBerEats from Donkey MO's for the first time because after watching Netflix Korean cooking shows ... the craving of Korean fried wings was real. First time trying Donkey MO's and I was so surprised how good it was... even for take out delivery! I ordered the 10 Wings combo with French fries . The wings was super crispy and still hot! The plain French fries was good but nothing special. It paired well with the wings and to dip it in the wing sauces. Flavors Soy Garlic: super delicious! Highly recommend! and holy donkey : my gawdddddd I died eating this! It was so freaking spicy I couldn't feel my mouth, started sweating immediately, and my stomach was turning. Somehow it was addictive and I was able to eat 2 before surrendering. This wing sauce is definitely for those who love spicy. it's hot! And that is coming from a person that can eat somewhat medium spicy. Do I recommend this place? I definitely want to try this place in person instead of take out. It was really good and I feel the wings were good size and the perfect amount of crispy even being coated with sauce. It's good! I definitely recommend this place ! If take out was great .. I'm sure sitting down at the restaurant and eating will be even greater!

Sweet & SPICY & Soy Garlic 10 Wings

I recently tried Donkey Mo's Korean Wings and ordered the 10-piece with soy garlic and sweet & spicy flavors. Overall, I really enjoyed it. The wings were cooked well and had a nice texture, and the sauces stood out in a good way--they weren't overly heavy or drenched, just a light, balanced coating that let the flavor come through without being too much. The soy garlic had a nice savory touch, while the sweet and spicy added a little kick without being overpowering. It's not the absolute best wings I've ever had, but they're definitely solid and satisfying. For a small spot, it really hits the spot when you're craving something flavorful and different. The store was small inside but it was dimly lit and had a vibe to it not bad a for a date night if i say so myself, the customer service was great and the food comes out quick ! Highly reccomend and will be back soon.

Although the sauce for the wings was pretty good and spicy, the chicken itself was just okay quality under the breading. $7 for a can of beer is more expensive than a fine dining restaurant in downtown. You can't be serious? Chimaek is a whole point of getting Korean fried chicken, and this pricing is insane. Also up-charge for a side of a dipping sauce is unheard of for a fried chicken establishment. It's. Base-line item. Coleslaw and fries were average. You have to come to a counter to ask for a soft drink refill, you can't just do it yourself. What was a complete killer is an entitled mom who decided to change the diaper on a DINING in the dining area RIGHT IN FRONT OF OTHER COUPLE EATING. Literally. Photo attached lol. I'm concerned as of why employees didn't say anything? This is so disrespectful to the other guests that had to see and smell this whole ordeal. This must be a major health-code violation too.

12 KJ Thigh Nugget and Chicken Sandwich

I know Donkey Mo is on the list of one of the best Korean Fried Chicken in town but since I'm rooting so hard for BBQ chicken lol, I just havent make my way here yet until recently Ordered the KJ thigh nuggets and chicken sandwich. Pros: All their chicken is fried fresh, oil doesnt taste old, chicken is moist and juicy inside. Chicken sandwich has a homemade Thousand -like sauce that I like. Cons: Their fried chicken sauces options are limited and taste more or less the same (The sweet sauce is very similar to Donkey Mo, just not spicy) Also I feel like their chicken taste a bit bland, more like American style fried chicken than Korean imo. Anyway, it was overall good. Place is nice and clean, good for a casual meal. We didnt have to wait on Thursday night but it got more crowded around 8:30pm.

The chicken here is pretty good and crispy. The sweet and sour spicy sauce is very manageable while the 7/10 donkey sauce was very spicy. The bone in wings are quite large. Fries and coleslaw was average. They ran out of cream corn, I really wanted to try that. Prices here are a bit above average especially at $7 a beer for an order at the counter type place. The employees here are very on top of cleaning. Especially when a mom decided to change her baby right on top of a table in front of another table that's eating.... The employees wiped it down right away. I would like to try the nuggets next time.

Holy Donkey (top), Soy Garlic (bottom), Shishito Peppers

Solid spot for Korean fried chicken! I'd say this spot is more of a 4.4/5. The 10-piece jumbo wings and an item from the snacks portion of the menu is the perfect amount of food for two people. The holy donkey sauce was the perfect amount of spiciness, which I'd rate as a 5/10 spice level--not too spicy if you're a spice lover like me. The classic soy garlic was also delicious! The wings themselves were so juicy and perfectly tender, with the breading crunchy and even. The shishito peppers were freshly blistered--they could've used a bit more cooking (personal preference), but the seasoning was just right. You also get a very generous amount of peppers for the price. Order at the counter, and pick a spot at one of the many tables. Your name will be called when the order is ready. Ambiance is causal but the decor/music is vibey.

Food was very tasty! They served our order pretty quickly. Thd environment felt intimate. Everyone in the group enjoyed their order. I can see Donkey Mo's being a regular spot for us :)

Decided to try this place instead of going to BBQ chicken, and tbh I kinda prefer it over Donkey Mo's! The wings are big but the batter felt quite greasy. We got the holy donkey sauce and sweet and spicy. Holy donkey was actually pretty spicy, but not that much flavor besides that. Sweet and spicy was pretty decent! We also got the tteokbokki and it was...unique? The tteok was fried and it was topped with gochugang sauce, ranch (???), and fried onion. It was very different than traditional tteokbokki. We had a hard time deciding if we liked it or not lol.

Beer, korean fried chicken, fried sides. All perfect after a long day of work. This place is pretty solid compared to the other korean chicken places in Austin. The 6-piece wing combo is more than enough for a person and there are a lot great sides like the fried pickles and sweet potato fries that are perfect complements to the crispy chicken. It's definitely on the heavier side but I know what I'm getting into when I come here. The workers are helpful even though it's not a full-service establishment which I appreciate. I'm also a fan of the decor and R&B vibe. The spiciness isn't too crazy unless you had the chili flake rub which elevates the taste. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the bacon kimchi fries but I'm generally not a fan of loaded fries anyway since all the ones in the middle and the bottom become soggy.

The wings even with the sauce drenched were still so crispy and the chicken was juicy and tender! And the fries were the best! No left overs!

6 Wings, Spicy Fried Rice Cake

We've been waiting for another Korean Fried Chicken spot to open up since there aren't many options in the area, and this one did not disappoint. It's a bit tucked away and not surrounded by many other restaurants, but it's absolutely worth the trip. We ordered the 6 jumbo tenders with both the sweet and spicy and soy garlic sauces. Both were packed with flavor and delicious. We also tried the rice cakes; they weren't super authentic, but still really tasty. Prices were reasonable, which was a nice bonus. The vibe is somewhere between quick-serve and sit-down, and the person at the counter was super friendly and helpful. If your only experience with Korean Fried Chicken is BBQ Chicken, this place is a must-try. Highly recommended.

Food was great and so was the service. My only critique is that I wish it would close a little later and that it was bigger.

What I love about Hi wings is first and foremost the consistency of their wings. Their wings are always large size and consistently the same size every time unlike Donkey Mo's. Their wings are always juicy, crispy, and the flavor is consistently the same. You really don't get inconsistent wings at Hi wings. What you expect is what you get. I've eaten here over 6 years and never had a bad experience whether it's dine in or often take out. My favorite flavors and go to is the Parmesan garlic and the Peach habanero. The peach habanero is spicy but it's not going to kill you. It's addicting good and gets spicy but the heat quickly goes away once you stop. I always get blue cheese with the wings. Best wings in town! Do I recommend this place? Yes! If you love Korean wings, honestly this is my go to hot place! It's not sugar sauces and more savory which I love! Even with UBerEATS and it takes 1 hr to get delivered the wings are still hot and crispy every time!

Upon entering, I was paired with THEE LOVELIEST SERVER Sanhya, and she was just the best. Ironically, I came on "National Wing Day", so they were running some pretty good specials: $1 Wings (min. 10 wings per order) and $2.50 pints of Dos Equiis. For my sauce, I chose a spicy garlic parmesan (yes, you can mix 2 sauces together) and paired it with dill pickle dusted tater-tots. Wings: they weren't "piping hot " on arrival which was a bit sketchy -- some were even cold to touch (YIKES!). However, most of them were at least a bit warm. Flavor-wise, do I need to go out of my way for wings at Pluckers?? NAH. These wings are decent, but nothing to write home about. Tater Tots came out dill pickle dusted, but they were either fried at a low temperature that they retained oil, or were not properly drained. Either way, they weren't very crunchy, light in color, and all the seasoning was wet and fell off the tots. Overall, unimpressed but still came out somewhat satisfied as I only paid $20 and some change for the whole meal. Not a 3. More like a 3.5. Inside was clean and could probably fit 75pp.

All they had left was the bone-in chicken. The guy took our number and said it would be about 20 minutes and we took a stroll around the street. We came back and still didn't get a text, we asked the worker about our order and he took it out of the heater and gave it to us. Turns out, the food was ready way before 20 minutes, he put mistyped the 1 wrong number. The bone-in chicken was really good. We got tater tots, one classic and one tingly-I usually love spicy things, but I preferred the classic in this case. The tingly was still good, but it tasted over seasoned. The papaya salad was good, but nothing crazy. There are some patio tables outside, but the bar next door had the tables reserved. It's okay though, sometimes an eating session in the car is great too. I would definitely come back! The bone-in chicken was a hit, so hopefully one day, I will be able to try the chicken sandwich and the nuggets next time and I would also make sure to see if they put down my number right, so I wouldn't have to wait any longer.
