Normally, I don't review "fast food", but stay with me. We were going to visit Arby's, but their…read moreclassic Arby's Sandwich is now $5!!! When I was a teenager, in the early '80s, Arby's had "5 for $5"! I know, times have changed, but $5 for ONE tiny Arby's Roast Beef sandwich is stupid, so we went to Quiznos down the street. Sandwich: Lobster Classic. I ordered the Large ($11.90) with Rosemary Parmesan bread (not white). Let's be honest: This sandwich has lobster and seafood salad, so it's not a "true" lobster roll. Note: Quiznos defines a standard as an 8" bread length and a large as a 12" bread length. I ordered the large, so I could review 1/2 of the sandwich the next day as a "hangover food". Taste: I've eaten Lobster Rolls in Boston and Maine. The Quiznos version will certainly satisfy your craving--at 1/2 the cost and double the size! No joke. I ate half right after ordering, and the other half re-heated the next day. Fresh or re-heated, the sandwich was great. Mild spices and meaty combination of lobster and seafood salad. Actually, I think I prefer the lobster/seafood salad combo because it gives the sandwich more depth and flavor complexity. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Service: The two guys were "flying blind" because their Manager had recently quit. Regardless, they both had great positive energy, worked quickly, and we enjoyed talking with them! Overall: The ONLY reason I'm deducting a star, and I'm nitpicking, is they were out of melted butter for my sandwich. If I could deduct only 1/2 star, I would. Regardless, we will be visiting again--OFTEN!!!!

Immediately, you can tell this place doesn't get much traffic. Some of the tables had dust on them. Their soda machine was also out of comission, so what was left was abysmally overpriced bottled stuff. So a drink was already out of the question. So now, not only did I not have a drink, but the dude's made the wrong sandwich to top it off. It wasn't something I wouldn't enjoy, but now I had a dry steak sandwich with no dip or drink. My mouth was drier than the sand dunes.

The large seating area is clean, and the ordering area is modern, with large menu screens. The food is formatted so that you select your protein variation and then a presentation, which could be a quesadilla, nachos, taco, sandwich, or bowl. If you really want more, you can select a side dish. We decided to try pork nachos and a birria quesadilla. The service was top-notch, and the staff was super friendly. Unfortunately, it was a big letdown. $15 nachos had very little pork but lots of convenience store nacho cheese sauce, which was not at all what I expected. They also were missing a mess of normal nacho toppings, and those that were on it were scarce. More than half the chips were dry. The quesadilla was unremarkable. The cheese used was not high quality, and it seemed average at best. Overall, I am disappointed as I would have loved to have found another option in Brighton. With the fun atmosphere and lots of TV, it would have been a good place to grab a bite, a beer, and watch the game or meet with friends. Hopefully, they get it dialed in or lower their prices to reflect the actual product.

That being said this being food truck, I still had to pay with a leg and half an arm for simple food to go, $17 an item. Simple service and not much else besides a snack. Food choices were chicken, pork or veggie. Bowl, tacos or quesadilla. We opted for a chicken bowl and pork tacos. Chicken bowl was small, basic, and topped with geen Chile's not really a a green chile. Food had an interesting citrus profile topped with cabbage, not a slaw. The pork tacos were a better of the two, being full of flavor and moist but drenching the single corn tortilla it was served in. By the end of the first taco, the other two were falling apart. Tacos were topped with cabbage again but all together, a very small portion filling for the tortilla being used. Overall food was edible. Not a coleslaw like labeled. Green chile was in fact just diced up green chile almost canned like. Small portions for the amount of paid. Would eat if I was hungry enough.

We had a great time on the hayride, collecting both blackberries and raspberries, seeing the chickens, lots of honey bees, and sheep, hanging out with a sweet farm dog, etc. It was well worth the drive and a very relaxing experience for all of us.

I only get to visit at most, once a year and I really need to find a way to change that. The owner,…read moreClaudia, is the most beautiful and kind person and treats everyone like family. You may even get to see the farm doggo if you're lucky! If you are like me and enjoy finding unique fruits and veggies that you don't see in any grocery store or even at your summer farmer's markets, this is the place for you! The drive is a quick one from Denver and once you are there on the farm, you kind of forget where you are! The store will take you back in time with it's simple set up with vintage coolers that store all of those beautiful veggies, and old tables stacked with baskets filled with even more veggies and fruits. There are heirloom options and the choices vary throughout the season as new things come in. On one of my visits this past summer, I picked up a huge bunch of home-grown Edamame that was far better than anything I have gotten anywhere else. It was actually quite fun to remove them from the stems to wash and cook up. I also was able to find beautiful Italian green beans - my absolute favorite and never-able-to-find option. The tomatoes are always a go-to and are so flavorful. I found out how the heirloom options are grown in the greenhouse and how that has provided the sweetest results and can confirm, they are very sweet and delicious. Along with the veggies and fruits, you will also find some locally made goodies sold in a brown paper bag that are a great treat to take for the ride home. Also, don't miss the dried pepper selection! There is also a cooler/freezer with meats and fresh eggs. When I was there, it was golden raspberry picking time and there were many families out for the tractor ride to the bushes to pick their own. Be sure to check out their website for hours - the opening is limited and you want to avoid making a trip unnecessarily and you can find out about special events, picking times for the fruits, cakes, and flowers and CSA share options. Claudia and Tim operate a farm that is certified organic and you can be sure their offerings are truly fresh, truly local, and truly organic as their motto says.

Holy cow that was a horrible diner…read more The owners were very non-chalant about seating us. We originally sat near the service door to the kitchen and heard a lot of complaining when people went in and out of the door. Had to ask to be reseated. We were not quickly attended to, never received our water in a timely manner, but we did get our coffee which was incredibly watered down and flavorless. (Granted, we got our coffee quickly.) Had two different dishes: one was their "sampler" of sorts, and another was an omelette smothered in gravy. The sampler had decent eggs - the hashbrowns were food service hashbrowns that were stale and not very crispy and chewy - typical food service grade: "acceptable". Ham and sausage were incredibly bland, bacon was just salted bacon with zero flavor. Had a waffle that disintegrated as soon as I put butter and syrup on it - completely turned to mush, had a raw consistency. The pancakes were the only decent thing on the plate, and it's clear they were Bisquick. Omelette didn't have layered meat and cheese, it was all whipped together - very very lazy. Overall, very disappointing. Cost was only thing decent about the restaurant. Lots of older people in the diner, which tells me "salty and bland". The clientelle of the restaurant usually represents how the food will be, and for hospital level service food, this was spot on. Now, I realize restaurants are struggling to survive. But if you're struggling and you simply don't care, that's a different story. Hit up Moonlight Diner off of Tower. Longer drive, but worth the trip. If you're really hungry, stop by McDonald's instead.
