The steak is flavorful and perfectly cooked, and I especially love the peppers and onions--they add just the right amount of sweetness and bite to make the sandwich shine. First off I'm not from Philly, so my review of a cheesesteak is based on how much I enjoyed it, not its authenticity. I found the cheesesteaks from Taste of Philly to be really good, just not quite a 5. I got one 8 inch "The Works" and one 8 inch "Pepper" to split with my SIL. He fancies himself to be some sort of homegrown food critic, but the reality is he puts ketchup on a hotdog and wears crocs with socks. His somewhat spurious review was "fine" but not overwhelmingly good. The wings however were a 5 star hit. We got 4 naked and 4 garlic parmesan, really nice plump wings cooked perfectly. Underwhelming but hey, I ordered it. It may have been a little tastier if the cheese had been that nacho flavor, or may be on the side. Meh. I ordered it. I should have known what it would be like. I've been in twice now, but this is the first time I actually got a sandwich and I must say I was not disappointed! I swear this place is a little hidden gem tucked away in an area of Larkridge that sees less foot traffic than the surrounding shops. Both times we've visited, lots were full of cars and people were all over the place, but the dining room of Taste of Philly was nearly empty on a weekend during lunch. It may just be a coincidence though because this place is pretty bomb. The menu is surprisingly large and diverse for a cheesesteak shop, which is awesome since it would be a good place to bring a couple of friends to or have a quick lunch date at and could easily satisfy really any taste; there are lots of sandwich options, salads, and even chicken wings. This time I ordered the Buffalo chicken Philly, which comes with your choose of ranch or blue cheese. Making it a meal gets you a side of fries and a fountain drink, and I'm almost certain that you have the option of upgrading the side for an additional charge if you wanted to. For two regular sized sandwich meal combos, the total came out to right around $30; for the size of the sandwich I think it's a decent deal but in the slightly pricier side. You give your name for the order and it's all brought out to the table when ready. If it's really busy and loud it might be a bit tougher for food running, but that's kind of a moot point for now lol. We waited for about five minutes before our food was brought out, and the sandwiches were steaming hot, which I seriously love, and they were absolutely massive - I swear I could have been served half of what I got and it'd be more than enough. The fries were hot and perfectly crispy as well. The overall quality of ingredients was excellent and everything tasted very fresh. The restaurant is very clean and organized and the staff is so friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience all the better. The only downside I can think of is the lack of availability of any sauces or condiments in the dining area itself or near the drink station; having self serve ketchup or hot sauces, etc. would be excellent rather than having to go back and ask, which takes attention away from the folks in the kitchen or at the register. Overall super yummy, not too expensive, and pretty quick lunch if you don't want to go to a sit down place. read more

Working on a Saturday and this was supposed to be my "treat". What I walked out with was a cheesesteak that had ZERO green chili and enough cheese to gag 12'000 mice (not sure if it had extra meat because it was invisible inside the monolith of cheese). This place was NOT busy. It was me and another walk in customer. I should have opened the wrap and checked it before I walked out but I was working and in a rush. Especially after it was 20 minutes later than promised. I'm giving 2 stars (could be 2.5) because this place has potential. First time having cheesesteak in Colorado, understanding this is a chain - the hoagie was tender but chewy, the cheesesteak was flavorful. The gentleman taking our order loves the Hot Popper. We ordered the Hot Popper and The Works. The mushroom was nicely done in the works one too. French fries and onion rings are fried to perfection. Wish they have more sauce options sitting out by the drink station but the staff are friendly and helpful. They carry coke products. Well, my sandwich came and I asked if they happened to have any Frank's, and the guy answered affirmatively and said he would bring me some. I waited about 5 minutes and decided to start eating. It's a good thing I did, 'cuz the Frank's never came. This was a perfect example of why I am against tipping before anything has happened, which this restaurant asks you to do. Average ish everything. Average sandwiches at slightly above average prices. Pretty much what I expected. I might have had a better experience if I was a cheesesteak fan. I wouldn't come back again unless I was really close by. $28 for 2 smallish BLTs, an average sized basket of fries, and about 8 onion rings. The BLTs don't come with anything but the sandwich, and at $8 each, to me was not a good value. At local diners in this town, a BLT is around $9 or $10 and always comes with fries or salad or something. This meal should have been around $22. I didn't try the cheesesteaks, so maybe the other sandwiches are bigger or a better value. The quality of the BLTs was good, just smallish in size. The large fries were average in price for a typical frozen french fry basket. Nothing special. The large onion rings were not a good value. Too greasy and not what I expected for $6. Pros: Friendly staff. Easy parking. Big menu. Cons: Slightly overpriced making it not the best value. I don't know if it's just the bad luck in this specific spot or the pool of candidates, but this place may not last long. I've eaten here 5 times and 4 of those I've gotten the wrong food. Tuesday I needed a quick bite so I ran in and got a Works Philly without onion and with chicken. Jumped in my car and got about 10 minutes down the road, opened the sandwich to find only chicken and cheese. Now I will say this is my fault for not checking before I left after having bad experiences in the past, but I was in a hurry so I trusted that maybe this time it was correct. Who would order "the works" and than take all of the veggies off? The receipt had it correct, the grill man just totally F'd this one up.
