The ribs were good- served with a thin bbq sauce that was heavy on the pepper, most of the ribs were nice and meaty. The sweet potato fries were good as well- they serve Kensington ketchup, which is a little more peppery and has a different texture than the usual, I do recommend that over the honey mustard as a dipping sauce. The honey mustard was pretty heavy on the horseradish. My husband got the slider variety. The burger had a thousand island based sauce on it that made it a little different from the usual burger. The regular chicken sandwich had a lemony flavor to it. I preferred the hot chicken sandwich- the heat creeped up on you but it was good! Their chicken was super thick and juicy- probably my favorite part of the meal. The fry portions were huge. Service at the counter and at the table was very sweet and helpful. She even brought us some ketchup packets to take home so we could see what kind of ketchup they served. Loved the giant pickleballs in the stairwell- what a cute decor choice! We didn't get to play any games since it was snowing, but I would absolutely recommend this place for an event. I am definitely coming back for a newbie pickleball night!

I don't…read morethink we had been back since pre-COVID times, but we decided to make the extra drive because we remembered the great BBQ and food we used to get there. Boy, has this place changed. We knew the routine that this was a walk up to the bar to order food/drinks but we loved the idea of being able to order from a QR code on the table and have food and drinks delivered directly to our table. Unfortunately, the execution completely missed the mark. After placing our food & drink order, we waited several minutes with no drinks. We were about to just go to the bar ourselves when our food arrived. When we asked the food runner about the drinks, we were told, "They're busy, you might have to go to the bar to get them." That completely defeats the purpose of ordering ahead through the QR system. My husband ended up standing in a very long bar line, and just as he was finally reaching the counter, our drinks finally showed up -- probably 10 minutes after the food arrived which was about 25ish minutes after placing the initial order. By then, our food was cold. The brisket sandwich had barely any actual meat on it (maybe 2oz of meat max) and was mostly inedible fat. The wings were dried out, cold, and tasted like they'd been reheated multiple times and drenched in buffalo sauce to cover it up. No one ever checked on us to see if things were okay. (They used to come around all the time) We also had to get our own utensils and condiments which we knew from previous visits, but the guy that dropped off the food made sure to tell us to bus our own table, afterwards, scrape food off dishes into the trash, and return trays and dishes to busstubs they had set out. Like I said, from our previous visits we knew this is more of a bar-service style restaurant and not full table service, but the expectation of any sort of a tip much less the 25% gratuity that was automatically generated/expected on our e-bill before actually finalizing our bill is honestly ridiculous. Other than someone dropping food at the table and a bartender opening a can of beer, there was essentially zero customer service. We ordered our own food, got our own utensils and condiments, cleaned up our own table, and still somehow were expected to tip at a level you'd expect from a full-service restaurant!? I can get the same level of service at a fast food restaurant and no one expects a 25% tip there. To top it off, the live band felt more suited for a retirement community social hour than a lively Saturday night crowd. Needless to say... in the six years it's been since we have been to the old man, we clearly have missed nothing other than its decline.

The Old Man Bar - Costco has better chicken strips than these. Runny ranch dressing that took me back to middle school.
