    Buffalo wings
    Aaron H.

Considering the current pandemic going on, I am happy that food trucks are still going. My friends were in town and we decided one night was wing night. With that being said I ordered buffalo wings with fries and my wife ordered chicken tenders with their buttered potatoes. Onto the food! As always, we must first get the bad out of the way! Or more like not what I was expecting. This being the buttered potatoes. They were well done, but the extreme amount of butter was astonishing. I understand their name, but simply the butter overpowered me and my wife. Overall, a very well done potato but a pinch less butter and it would be perfect! At least for us. Now the wings. This was an amazing set of wings. Crunchy and crispy to the bone. The buffalo sauce was your standard sauce, but the wing it paired with was the absolute star. The chicken tenders were well done, I wish some were a tad bit thicker but overall worth the buy. I would recommend their BBQ sauce with these. The fries were also well done as they were not soggy and had a perfect amount of seasoning. Not too salty and a good amount. Overall, ShaWING does an excellent job at their wings. They are a tad bit on the high side so watch out if you're on a budget. They are worth the try and I hope I find them soon!

Elevated! Your normal brewery bites but even tastier. My first experience with ShaWING was at Our Mutual Friend. Saw the truck before but this time food really jumped out at me. Fairly simple menu but it's all priced well and substantially portioned. No pretzels or hot dogs for seven bucks here! I gravitate towards the veggie/vegan options so fries hit the spot. Large basket crisp and chewy. Cheese on top was light and airy. Not the cheese fries that initially come to mind but that's a good thing. The fries went excellent with all my beer and left my partner and I satisfied. Plenty to share. Expertly seasoned. Don't want to eat too heavy and take away from your beer. Likewise pay a pretty penny and feel shorted. Previous reviews complain about the wings mostly but everyone else that day seemed satisfied with the purchase. Came out quickly but of course depending on truck workers and orders ahead of you that varies. Of the handful of locks food trucks I'll always be happy to see ShaWING pulling up nearby.

The Beef on Weck with a side of parmesan fries.

As I approached Epic Brewing Company this past Saturday to kick off a brewery crawl with some friends it struck me; I had not eaten. What a rookie mistake! But I was in luck! ShaWING truck to save the day! I browsed the menu and settled on the beef on weck sandwich and a side of the parmesan fries. Def happy with my choices! The sandwich was tasty tasty roast beef piled on a kummelweck roll with beef jus, mayo, and horseradish. It had some salt and herbs on the top bun that really made more of a mess than added to the meal in my opinion. Still good though none the less! I'm apparently on a roast beef sandwich kick lately and this was def a contender for the top ten! The parmesan fries were fried up perfectly and, while I only ordered a side of them, I got what seemed like a huge basket. Totally what I needed before an afternoon brewery hopping through RiNo/Five Points with my friends. So grateful for ShaWING truck being right there when I needed it! Def going to try some of their other offerings on my next brewery outing!

One of the rudest encounters I've had with a business, and mediocre food. You couldn't pay me to eat there again.

The space feels very Root Down in the best way. Funky, artsy, a little mid century, but still comfortable and not trying too hard. Then the food starts showing up and suddenly the whole table is passing plates around because everyone keeps saying "wait, try this." We ordered a bunch of things and the smoked carrots were probably the biggest surprise for me. I would absolutely go back just to eat those again. The masa birria, diver scallops, and grilled artichokes and asparagus were all great too. The hanger steak was cooked perfectly and came with duck fat potatoes, which immediately puts me in a good mood. Dessert also fully delivered. The banana cream pie with black sesame whip was one of those desserts where you keep going back for another bite even when you're already full. After reading other reviews and checking out photos beforehand, I knew the Colorado lamb was a must-order. It's not something I usually go for, but it ended up being my favorite dish of the night. Absolutely worth the hype. We also ordered the birria short rib and hickory smoked picanha, and both were solid choices. The shrimp and corn grits were amazing, and I really loved the aged cheddar mac and cheese. Other dishes like the chickpea croquettes and the chili relleno were also pretty good and rounded out the meal nicely. The wait staff was fantastic. Super friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. The restaurant itself has a cool, lively vibe. The only minor downside was that the outdoor heaters were a bit too hot, but that's a very small nitpick. Overall, an easy 5 out of 5 stars. We didn't take advantage of the patio vibes or rooftop deck with a fire pit, but this is still on our list! While waiting for a table, we cozied up to the bar and ordered drinks. One of the bartenders noticed I ordered the hibiscus margarita and asked me, offhandedly, if I was a fan of spice. Yes, please. With that, he cancelled my order and made me something "not on the menu" but what I called the "Patrick special." So good. Thanks, sir! We ordered burgers and shared their buffalo cauliflower starter. This, my friend, was absolutely amazing. Loved the buffalo spice paired with the bleu cheese. Easy way to enjoy some veggies. And along the same theme, I ordered the Buff and Bleu burger. This was so good, so flavorful and so messy. Don't judge me, but I resorted to using my fork, lol! It was so well balanced. Great location, relaxed vibes, especially on a Sunday evening. The beer was solid, but the food stole the show (mostly across the board). Most of our group was happy with their dishes. I had the steak sandwich with a side salad, and the sandwich was top tier. I'm a sucker for a good sandwich, and this one absolutely hit the spot. It was also pretty large, which made it more of a fork-and-knife situation than a handheld one, but no complaints there. A few people in our party upgraded their sides to the sweet potato fries, which were next level. Perfect balance of crispiness with a hint of sweetness that made them stand out. One miss in the group was the mac and cheese; my sister ordered it and wasn't a fan, felt it was too liquidy/runny and underwhelming compared to everything else we tried. Only minor knock overall was that the kitchen was pretty slow, especially considering it wasn't very busy late on a Sunday evening. Not a dealbreaker, but something worth noting if you're in a hurry. Overall, great first Denver meal; good beer, mostly good food, and a relaxed spot that made for a solid welcome to the city.
