I love Chicken Katsu and I am happy to say I think I found my new go to sports for a chicken katsu! Until now, the katsu I have eaten waa always pretty saucy so I was a little hesitant when I saw that this katsu wasn't as saucy. But that doesn't stop the mral from being full of flavor. In fact, the flavor is in the breading that was coated well and generously! It was a very unique katsu but very tasty. The dish itself came with a side of fries and mac salad, and the katsu was served over fried rice. I'm not one for Mac salads but this one wasnt too bad. The fries were a little boring and bland. The rice was surprisingly tasty! The interior of the restaurant is small and thwre isnt a whole lot of room for seating. It is definitely geared to more of a fast casual kind of flare. The staff was very nice and helpful with my ordering, especially with this being my first visit!. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience and this will become a new lunch staple for me!
Kickin Chicken makes some good chicken and sauce. We both got the medium spice chicken tenders - one with fries, kickin sauce, buffalo ranch and one with mexican corn, kickin sauce, jalapeno honey mustard. The tenders are huge and totally worth the price. The chicken tasted rather mild even though we ordered medium spice. I didn't catch even a hint of spice. The mexican corn was delicious, but a lot of corn for a meal, perfect for corn lovers. I think their slaw or fries is the way to go, a perfect companion for the chicken. The jalapeno honey mustard was the best sauce - just a little zing (not too spicy) and well balanced with the sweetness of honey mustard.
The chicken and waffles is so good! The bubble waffle was tasty and the mac salad on the side was a good contrast for the spice. Will be ordering again. (:
We ordered to-go from kickin chicken at 12 pm on a Tuesday. They told us it'd be a 10 minute wait and it was a 10 minute wait, even with their lunch rush. The chicken katsu was very crispy and the meat was moist. The sauce on top was tasty. It was interesting paired with the macaroni salad and fried rice; the macaroni was nothing special, something you'd find at a grocery store, the fried rice was also pretty average. Mixed together, they make a nice bed of carbs for the crispy, saucy chicken. The rum raisin bread pudding was good, however it lacked raisins. It would be 10/10 if they added some raisins in the pudding itself instead of on just on top. $31 pre-tip got us two large, filling meals and the bread pudding, which is pretty great. I'll be back to try the chicken waffle.

It's a very small restaurant and I found it very pleasant and especially personable. The young woman at the counter with purple and yellow hair was as friendly as friendly could be. She helped decide on what level of spice and which sides we may choose to go with. Ultimately, I ordered the chicken sandwich on Texas toast with medium sauce. It came with pickles and coleslaw on it as well. I ordered street corn as my dude and my sister ordered the identical sandwich but she got French fries instead of street corn. This may have been the very best fast food fried chicken sandwich I've ever had. I am not exaggerating. It's a huge piece of chicken and the sauce is mouthwatering. I had to mash it down just to be able to get a good bite into it. I love their little kickin chicken mascot and next time I go I'm going to buy a t shirt. If you see this tiny chicken place, I highly suggest you stop in and give them a try. I was absolutely impressed. Yummy yummy yummy.

We happened to catch them after normal lunch hours so it wasn't really busy. There were about 10 other people eating lunch and a few open tables. I can imagine that their lunch rush fills a lot of the chairs. The tenders are big, juicy, and packed full of flavor. Fries were cooked to a good crisp, just the way that I like it. Food took about 10 minutes to come out after we ordered and that's pretty good knowing that everything is made to order here and they bring it to your table. Next time I'm in the area, I want to come back and give a few other items on the menu a try. It was the charm and hospitality of the staff that drives me to support this business. Keep doing your thing Kickin Chicken!
Kickin Chicken was recommended by a friend to try out in the Lakewood area, and as someone who loves fried chicken in all it's forms - I definitely wanted to check this place out! We went on a Thursday around noon, where it wasn't too busy and we were able to get our orders placed immediately. To note, parking is quite difficult at the restaurant - spaces are very limited and fill up fast, as Kickin Chicken shares parking spaces with other small business in the area. I personally had some trouble finding a place to park when I visited, and I would try and get there a little bit earlier to find a spot. Ambiance is fast casual, as the restaurant is self-service, you order at the cashier and you can pick any available table to sit at, and you also bus your own table after you are finished. I got the chicken kastsu for $13.25, which I thought was an alright deal for the amount of food you get, as I personally would have preferred a bigger portion. I noticed that chicken tenders or the chicken and waffles looked a bit more generous with the same price, so I'll probably give those a try the next time I'm in Lakewood. But otherwise, the flavor is pretty solid! Each of the components of this entree is tasty. The chicken is sauced and seasoned well, and the texture is nice and crispy. The fried rice has a complex flavor, sort of like a garlic and smoked flavor that is pleasing. The corn is soft and the sauce is slightly tangy and provides a nice acidity to the decadent chicken. I like that the menu at Kickin Chicken is pretty straightforward and you come to this restaurant knowing exactly what to expect. The flavors are pretty solid and I would try and order a bit more the next time I come around. But I would definitely revisit Kickin Chicken to try their other interesting options!
Awesome deal for some awesome chicken! $12 for 3 tenders, 2 dips, and 1 side. The chicken was incredibly juicy with crispy breading. I ordered the hot level, but didn't find it spicy at all. The buffalo ranch was good, but the jalapeño mustard sauce was my favorite of the two. Mexican corn was decent. read more

Legit some of the best damn food in Denver. Easily worth the $20 I spent. The only thing I was on the fence about was the cream cheese in the waffles, or whatever it was, but it was still good. Chicken was crispy and tasty with the syrup / mild sauce, churros were delicious - maybe could do with their own sauce, but not necessary - and THANK YOU for putting the corn in the bowl. I never like it when places serve it on the cob. read more

I was really excited to try Kickin Chicken after reading the reviews on Yelp. Unfortunately I was a bit disappointed. My boyfriend and I were visiting and had to drive a decent bit out of our way to get here. I was hoping for flavorful, spicy chicken, but it was pretty bland for my taste. My boyfriend liked the chicken katsu, but it wasn't anything special. The mac salad and Mexican street corn were also a bit underwhelming. It could just be my taste, but I wouldn't go back. read more

Great chicken with a really cool variety of choices. I got the chicken katsu (which is a heck of a deal as it comes with Mac salad, fried rice AND a side of your choice) and it was delicious! Can't wait to go back and try more items! As a bonus, the employees were super nice and welcoming too! Give this place a shot, you won't regret it! read more

Caught their truck at Sloans Lake during Colorado Dragon Boat Festival. I got their spicy chicken tenders with two options of sauce. I did not wait long, which is a plus- while theirs are one of the popular one at this event. Very good, is a big portion for 1 person, I guess more like shareable during event. Chicken breast were fried to perfection, still juicy not too dry and good amount of seasoning. I will go their restaurant next time and try to dine-in. read more

I visit Denver about every other month and I'm always looking for great food. A local recommended this place and a must try. Came in shortly after they opened at 10:30am and was surprised to see more than a few customers. I ordered the chicken sandwich with a side of fried rice. They fried chicken was crunchy and tasteful. The sauce, slaw, kickin sauce, and Texas Toast all complete this great chicken sandwich. The fried rice was alittle bland, could have used some soy sauce. read more

Fast food with a kick. Nothing fancy but worth the try Ate the rice bowl with chicken thighs. Oddly enough it comes with a side of Mac salad that surprisingly goes with the dish. Fried Rice was a tad salty. Don't recommend the slaw. read more

We stopped here after arriving in Denver. This place did not disappoint. The chicken tenders are very good, the corn was nothing to ride home about. The sandwich is really where it's at. If i were to come back I would get the chicken sandwich 100%. The fried rice as a side wasn't anything special either but the chicken is really good and worth trying. read more

My friend and I both agreed that the chicken was sooooo good. I got the chicken katsu, and the crunch was AMAZING. The flavor and sauce was great too. The fried rice was a softer variety, but I personally liked it and thought it was flavorful without being too salty. Personally, I didn't think the mac salad and Vietnamese slaw were the best, but that may just be personal preference for the mac salad and the fact that I don't like red onions munch, which were in the slaw. Preferences aside, I wouldn't say they were anything special, but there wasn't anything objectively bad about them necessarily. Also, the service went above and beyond my expectations! At an order-at-the-front place like this, you wouldn't expect great service, so I was pleasantly surprised. When I was standing inside, waiting for my friend to come in so we could order, one worker politely asked if I had been helped. The servers called numbers as if we needed to come pick up the orders, but when we raised our hands, they came to our table and gave us the food. They also checked on us twice during the meal and politely thanked and greeted us when we left. To be fair, it wasn't very busy when we were there, so I'm not sure how the service would be when it's busy. Nevertheless, the workers all had a very polite, calm attitude. Lastly, it was clean inside, and I liked how many of the tables were in a little inlet, set apart from the ordering counter and doors. The art on the walls is also super fun and comedic without being non-kid-friendly (as far as I noticed). read more

Are all of their chicken dishes spicy? I can't do any spices but their menu sounds like they have tasty chicken.
They all come non-spicy but you can request they make any dish spicy. Great flavor both ways!
