The spice levels were good and the sandwiches had a lot of filling, however the flavor of the Mac and cheese wasn't my favorite nor was the slaw- it made my sandwich a bit soggy. PRO: There's a variety of options that are all customizable in spice level to cater to your preference. CON: Like others have said, their hot isn't as hot as spice-lovers would like. I also noted that the hot really wasn't that hot. Perhaps the adjective "blazing" is a stretch here. Perhaps Seasoned Bird would be a more fitting name... PRO: Guy working at the register was nice enough to bring my order to my table. CON: This really didn't make up for the awkward experience ordering. Blazing Bird was a bust for me unfortunately and I hate giving poor reviews, but the food here was quite bland for a place that touts spiciness and I found a hair in the food as well. Aesthetically the food looked good but after taking the first bite it was not as flavorful than I expected. The chicken had some crunch to it but it was also a bit dry, the macaroni wasn't cheesy and didn't have much flavor either so it was quite disappointed. We have been to BlazingBird three times. The first time this past May the food was delicious; served on a buttered bun, three pickles and a heaping spoonful of coleslaw. The next time just the opposite on a hamburger bun and very, smaller piece of chicken and a slight amount of coleslaw. Yesterday we tried Blazing Bird again. I was told we 'no longer have the buttered bun' (the menu still says on buttered bun), smaller chicken, almost no coleslaw and three pickle slices. A total disappointment. Well a few of us nurses at the hospital across the street wanted to try this place and we are SO glad we did! Those fried pickles and ranch (thin, restaurant style ranch is to die for!) will be on my list to order again! We ordered a couple things to split so we could try a few items. They had a great flavor profile the breaded chicken strips topped with jalapeño, pickles, sauce was killer and the slaw for freshened it all up! My team at work has been chomping at the bit to hit up Blazing Bird since it opened. Today was the day. We got there at 11:15 and things were beginning to pick up, but the line was still inside the building--not so about 20 minutes later. Ordering was easy in part because they provide little copies of the menu for people stuck in the long line. This definitely enhances efficiency and keeps the line moving. At the counter and afterward, staff were as polite as I could hope. I was a little skeptical about three chicken tenders a la carte for $13, but added fries and a drink ("Make it a meal for $5") and we sat down. Food came quickly, considering how busy they were. My reservations about the tenders vanished when I saw how big they were. While it wasn't love at first bite, the tenders were delicious, providing huge, juicy mouthfuls of chicken with a crust that fit "medium" to a "T." Fries were cooked well and there were plenty. If you like fried pickles, make sure to try these--thin, crispy chips, not watery or greasy. I would deduct a star if they served spears.... My staff enjoyed the Mac and cheese and slaw as well.
