#51 The Big Unit

Delicious subs/sandwiches/hoagies and so many options!! Hot and cold and so fresh. I got the unit and it was great. Fresh avocado, Turkey, sprouts, cream cheese, and pickles (I added). It was delicious and staff was so great! We will be back.

I came in with zero expectations and a craving for a Reuben. Coming from the east coast with the best sandwiches I was pretty hesitant of the reviews but figured why not. And can I say.... I am so pleasantly surprised. The sandwich was THICK, delicious and fresh. The staff was friendly and fast and my pickup order was ready when it said it would be. Imagine that! The fries were just ok..I'm sure if they came hot off the press they'd be much better. Not that they were bad to be clear! Inside is really big with plenty of seating. I will say though, the sandwiches need more SAUCEEEE. Next time I know better...

Half of the Lazor Show

Went with my daughter and her husband the other day and it was fantastic! I had the Schmidt which was a Phili. Cheesesteak and it was great. My daughter had the Henry Aaron which is a crispy chicken sandwich with melted American cheese topped with pickles, crispy onions, romaine, tomatoes mayo on a grilled Brioche bun and she loved it. Her husband got the Lazor Show which is an Italian sub sandwich w/ pepperoni, ham, salami, capicola, &proscuitto and provolone cheese, lettuce, onions, banana peppers oil and red wine vinegar on an Italian hogie roll. It was full of people so you know it's great

We had the Reubens. Prepare for a line, it wasnt to bad it moved quicky. Customer service was good. Sandwhich photo online had little more meat but it was still good little sad it didnt come with a pickle. If you like it sauce you want to ask for more sauce or side. Still worth every penny we will be back. Prepare sometime they dont have any seating so we took ours to go.

Looks delicious!

I LOVE a good sandwich! I had the California pastrami and my husband had one that had chicken, bacon & avocado. He didn't realize it was a cold wrap, would have preferred as a sub, hot, but it was good. The menu is a little overwhelming.

Home Team Deli is amazing. My husband and I got take-out tonight, and we were both astounded when we opened our sandwich boxes. If you get a sandwich here, there is no way you will go to bed hungry! For my sandwich I chose #1-"The Wizard". This was Chicken Parmesan on an 8" Italian roll. The sandwich included breaded chicken cutlet, marinara, lots of fresh mozzarella, and it was topped with two fried ravioli. It was just SO GOOD. I would absolutely give this a 10/10! My husband chose #92-"The Vladdy Sr". This sandwich was a California Pastrami Dip. It included a ridiculous amount of pastrami, yellow mustard (my husband switched for brown mustard) melted Swiss cheese and pickles. It was served on a toasted Italian roll and was dipped in Au Jus. It was also served with a cup of Au Jus. My husband is a good eater, but he barely made it through half of the sandwich. He told me that the sandwich is on par with a pastrami sandwich he's had at Katz's Deli in New York. Definitely a 10/10! Obviously, I highly recommend Home Team Deli. I am already plotting which sandwich I will get next!

Saw the Vienna beef umbrellas driving by and crossed my fingers they would have hot Italian Chicago beef sandwiches here, and they do!! Ordered to-go, (the ryno) hot Italian beef with hot giardiniera and au jus, (the schmidty) Philly cheesesteak, and a bowl of green chili and two Rice Krispies. The inside of the restaurant is really cute, would love to dine in someday, and it smelled great inside. The order was completed quickly and on time, the staff was also really friendly. The sandwiches were amazing! I do wish we could have dined in, just because the bread did start to get a little soggy from the drive, but not too badly! It was wrapped well and seriously very tasty. I'm not FROM Chicago, but visit enough to crave an Italian beef sandwich from time to time and this hits the spot. The green chili is kind of a soup stew type chili, amazing flavor, super cozy, but not like Santiago's or tamale kitchen green chili (which makes sense, it's just a different style is all I'm saying, not like the kind you get smothered on a burrito).

The online order recieipt

Getting my order right! I had ordered a Caesar chicken spinach wrap. What I got when I unwrapped it was a small hoagie, no Caesar dressing, a hunk of chicken which was not grilled, with croutons. It was very dry, the chicken was not diced nor mixed in with Caesar dressing and it was not in a wrap. Back to Jersey Mikes for me.

Great outside look.

I was hungover AF!!! I needed some food that would cure this headache. The service here and food here was exactly what I needed. The bathrooms were very nice before I went in there, sorry about the aftermath... Highly Recommend!

#15 The Laser Show

Ok yup, just found our new local go-to sandwich spot. I've been on the hunt for a good quality/east coast sandwich and the Home Team Deli delivered. We ordered the Laser Show (Italian sub), the Awesome Dawson, and a side of fries. Everything was really tasty. The meats were all good quality and a nice variety of flavor. We opted to get the Italian spiced Mayo and add it which was a game-changer. (Can this be added as an add-on option pretty please? It's so good). The bread was decent and some of the better quality I've had in the area which is tough to find. The banana peppers were a nice touch. The Awesome Dawson was just that - awesome. We opted to get the bread toasted and retoasted a little at home because the bread was still a bit soft, but it was delicious. The meats are juicy and tender and that slaw is dynamite. This will for sure be heavy in the lunch rotation from now on. We also really liked the fries, which were thick and crispy shoestring style. For $3.50 it's a nice add on. All in all, a great experience. Was easy to place a pick-up order and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The place is roomy and clean. Will be back (very soon).

The Reuben was incredible. The fries left a lot to be desired. They were half cooked, limp and greasy when first served to me. I requested a new order, cooked well. When I received them, some were well cooked but, again, some were only half cooked, limp, white, and greasy. The photo is from the second order.

Pickles!

Can we talk delicious sandwiches for a minute? How about a sandwich shop in Colorado that has full pickles you can get for a dollar and have it quartered? If that sounds good to you then you should def get a sandwich here. I had the chicken pesto sandwich and it was pretty bad ass and flavorful. Really enjoyed it and the pesto was super tasty. They also didn't skimp on ingredients, which is nice in this day and age. Next up at bat, the chicken noodle soup! This was a great compliment to the sandwich! Really hit the spot in a cold day. It was actually better than I thought it would be! Pinch hitting for the food is the service and employees! Nothing but good vibes and super helpful asking my slightly boomered (is that a word) questions. Better than most sandwich places I've been too. The ambiance was nice too. Very spacious and if you're into baseball, well, then this is a no brainer place for you to go to. Great place for families, friends, and the solo diner. Check them out and let me n ow what you got!

All I could make it through on the Vladdy Sr.

Not bad, but it didn't knock my socks off like other little Italian deli's around town can and do. The big flop was the service. I was unsure where to wait to order my sandwich so I waited by the case. While there were numerous employees working behind the counter, and zero other customers in the store, nobody greeted me for an awkwardly long amount of time. Maybe 5 actual minutes passed with me standing there and multiple employees working and even looking at me and never saying anything. Finally someone asked if I needed help. Yes, I want to order a sandwich. I put in my order, and it took about 10 minutes to make the sandwich. Understandable as the meat was sliced to order, which was great. In that time, another person came into the store, grabbed a few items, and stood at the register for that same full ten minutes I waited for my sandwich. Numerous employees working around, one even said hi to her, and nobody asked to help her. I was then asked a second time if I needed help and said I was waiting for my food. The other customer, still ignored. It was awkward for both of us. Finally, when my sandwich was done, they rang me out before she was rung out, and a second employee came to ring her out, and employee who walked past her numerous times while we stood there. Just a very strange customer service experience. They have a lot of room to improve in this area. On the plus side, during my long wait I was able to get photos of the grocery area and their cases and fridges. Lots of selection on the grocery side.

Sandwich was the Tail Dragger sandwich (Black Forest ham, oven-roasted turkey, pastrami, salami, Swiss, provolone, and mayo on sourdough) along with Jalapeño Beer Cheese soup. The sandwich was spot on, well toasted with a satisfying crunch, melty cheese, and layers of flavor in every bite. The soup was equally impressive: rich, cheesy, and savory with just the right amount of jalapeño kick without being overpowering. There was a fairly large group of older / retired folks who had just ordered when I arrived. Whether they were waiting on a charter flight or this is a regular Wednesday gathering, the place had a fun atmosphere. Despite the crowd and several pending orders, my food came out faster than expected. As an added bonus, the Vegas Golden Knights' jet was parked on the tarmac, which was very cool to see. This place reinforces my theory that FBOs and semi-private airports often have some of the best hidden gem diners and bistros, places usually known only to flight crews and private pilots. I was working some OT at my job and they threw me a bone by expensing lunch. It was still pretty early when I had to make my decision so I went for some place that was open. I settled on Deli Zone. Open early and you can choose between breakfast or not all day. I have been to Deli Zone in the past and it has always been pretty decent. The Kong breakfast sandwich is, dare I say, a classic. I mean hash browns on a sandwich? Amazing. They also do classic deli sandwiches pretty good. A lot of places try to make them more fancy than they need to be. Deli Zone is slightly guilty of this but it seems like the best place to get some pastrami on rye in the area if you are feeling it. The speed of getting your order is always pretty slow. When I ordered my sandwich this most recent time it took a full hour or so to get to me and it was one sandwich and I live less than 5 minutes away from the location. I would have for sure just went myself to get the food but the delivery order was placed for me. This could be all on DoorDash but I have experienced that same issue when ordering in the store as well. They take their time...could depend on sandwich order too. Speaking of going inside. Deli zone is very basic on the inside. My daughter and I used to walk over and eat lunch there and it is the type of place that leaves cases of canned drinks around and has those plastic stand fans out. It kind of seems like maybe someone lives there but I have no proof of that. It isn't dirty though, so don't worry about that. Just seems...lived in. This most recent time of going I got the New Yorker sandwich on marble rye. This was a great sandwich and might be my go to when I order from Deli Zone again. I liked the slaw, cheese, and dijon mustard more than the Russian dressing and sauerkraut of a Reuben. I am a pastrami guy too so this was great. Overall, the sandwiches in the past at Deli Zone all feel a bit...dry. A lot of the time the moisture comes from cheese or a dab of mustard from the sandwiches I have ordered. The New Yorker did not have that problem. I also got a whole pickle (great deli pickle honestly) and a bottled Starbucks coffee. This was overall a perfect meal for me for lunch and it kept me going until dinner. This won't be the best deli style sandwich place in the world but it is pretty damn good for Broomfield, CO.
