We first had Slice House at the Yelp event in Boulder and were impressed by the pizza and the service. So we were in the Boulder area and decided to get a slice. We got a couple of different ones and each were really tasty and delicious. The pizza was huge so you get your moneys worth. I like that the crust is thin as well. Overall, we're a fan. This place was better than I expected. Clearly they have gotten the message to heat the slices sufficiently. Now I ask that they not put raw garlic on the tomato , cheese, basil which would stand as an excellent Margherita pizza without it. The slices were big enough for me and given the only place in Boulder I have regularly eaten slices, Audrey Jane's Pizza Garage in North Boulder, it's the easiest comparison though the ingredients there are really special. Neither of the places have the perfect dark char that I find at Avanti's New Yorkese up in the roof top. Slice is perfect for a quick meal at the Mall or easy pickup for take out. We have eaten takeout a lot in recent years but I really prefer eating in and Avanti has the space for that for dinner. Eating in at Slice House is more limited but still available . Boulder has had a lot of good pizza in recent years, even for someone like me looking always for NY first and foremost as that is what I grew up with being raised close to the city. They also carry Detroit and Chicago pizza here. I recently became a fan of Detroit and think that Jets there and Jets Boulder are really good. I've only had NY at Slice House but by looking at the selections in the case, I'll stick to their NY. So many pizzas so little time I now have to say, but I will go where I can, when I can and this will be in the rotation. The staff was friendly and efficient and I liked that they wiped down the tables between customer but the definitely are planned as a bus your own table establishment. As for being in the Twenty Ninth St Mall, as long as they keep their most reliable anchors like the Apple Store they will be fine. read more

Slice House is a newer pizza place on 28th mall and had not tried until this past wekeend. I picked up the traditional slice with pepporoni and sausage with a thick crust.The dough was tasty and cooked just right with a crusty outside and soft pillowy inside. Both of the meats were rich and tasted like quality toppings. It was a very satisfying slice of pie! The only drawback is a paid 9 bucks for the slice. So although delicious seemed a bit pricy for a single slice. read more

I've ordered from here a few times now and all in all, it's pretty good. Coming from NJ where NY style pizza is abundant, I am a bit particular about my pizza and I'll say that Slice House comes close to scratching that itch. The ingredients are solid and they have a ton of options (so much it's a bit overwhelming), but I prefer my pizza slightly less doughy & thinner. The crust is decent, but wish it had a little more flavor. The sweet & spicy honey sausage is absolutely delicious and I'd come back just for that (10/10). They also make a good Caesar salad. I just can't reason with the price. Most recently we ordered a plain cheese medium pizza for $25 and it was TINY. I'm talking personal pan small so that was disappointing because it wasn't enough food for 2 people. We've gotten their XL pies which are HUGE! Can we meet in the middle?? And why on earth is pizza so dang expensive these days? It used to be a quick, affordable meal but now it costs more than it's worth. Mixed feelings about this place. I am from New Jersey, lived for years in NYC, and have eaten at all the places Denver people say competes for best pizza in the area. I had a slice of pepperoni pizza. It was $7.75. Abundant cup n char pepperoni, nicely toasted crust, it folded up pretty well (more cracker-like than in NYC, but the humidity there is very different). I t was certainly a very good slice. It was like I told ChatGPT, "Hey ChatGPT, order me up a very good slice of New York pizza: technically very fine, but lacking a crave factor and maybe light on salt and gooeyness of the cheese and it won't keep me up at night thinking 'I can't wait to pay $7.75 for that again.' I've mentioned the price, and yeah it's higher than you'd pay at any other slice place (Audrey Jane's is comparable price, but bigger). But one's a meal, and there's worse ways to blow $8, so I'm OK with it. I'm irked by the marketing. This Tony Gemignani guy has the right to throw his name all over the place to market his business, and talk about being a 13-time world pizza champion or whatever... but pizza's not a frickin' UFC championship or something. Pizza is really good, the House Craft Salad is delicious. They use high end ingredients. My problem is, they have rewards program and the cashiers never ask for my phone number. Apparently management doesn't think it's important. CU Boulder and all the surrounding schools start in mid August please train your employees. I tried the Slice House after reading the reviews. I thought it was good. As one other reviewer mentioned, the crust is a little more cracker flavored than typical. I also prefer a more charred crust, but that's easy enough to fix. The slices are large and the flavor is on point. I liked the sauce which is really important to me. Would I mistake it for a NY slice? No. But it's a great pizza for this area. I would say this and Audrey Jane's are the best slices in town. Today (3/6) we went back to Slice with friends. We skipped the Gran slice and just had NY and Detroit. The Detroit was again fantastic. We had a repeat of the green chili - spicier than last time but still good flavors. The Third slice was BBQ chicken and also good. The people we went with ordered pepperoni -great little crispy pieces on top. The only comment from them was that the slices were not warm enough. They also ordered the spumoni - 3 scoops, delicious - you can taste the pistachio and the cherry. (Note the ones you get at the store now almost always replace pistachio with something else and do not use the cherries that taste like the old Italian restaurant cherries.) read more

Pizza by the slice with a variety of crust styles and toppings. The Detroit style called Motorhead was fantastic! We also loved the Sweet Gino on Grandma style crust and you can't go wrong with any of the NY style pizzas, but the hot honey with pepperoni was a bit hit with our group. We will be back! read more

It was fine - not bad not great. On a pizza scale it's 6.0/10 for me. It's a chain similar to ones found in airports and malls ie Sbarro, Famiglia. I'm originally from NYC. I was hopeful this would be a good edition to Boulder but there are much better options in Boulder area. read more
