I was at Don Orange today for lunch with a wonderful group of my students from the University of Redlands! It was FANTASTIC! The food was absolutely phenomenal and the service A-1! Everyone had an array of different dishes and everyone was thrilled. The server and chefs were also very kind to manage special requests as needed. For example, I wanted a watermelon juice with mint that was not specifically like that on the menu and they made it happen and it looked like a work of art - so refreshing! Such a beautiful, artistic atmosphere with lovely background music at a very reasonable level to allow for comfortable conversation. The manager was so nice and accommodating our large group of 10 and we were seated in a perfect place. It was exactly what i hoped for - roomy and still in the festive heart of this lovely restaurant! This was my first time there and I will definitely be back soon and will joyfully bring lots of friends again! I highly recommend it! It is perfect place for any occasion! Thank you, all, at Don Orange! You helped make this to be such a memorable experience! I can't wait to be back!
Finally found a spot in Redlands that I actually enjoy. Had such a great experience the food was honestly amazing highly recommend the short rib and the lobster enchiladas, both were packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. For drinks, I had the Jalisco Old Fashioned and a spicy cucumber margarita, and both were so good. What really made the night stand out though was the service. Our waiter, Julian, was amazing, attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was perfect the entire time. Definitely a spot I'd come back to and recommend to anyone looking for a great meal and drinks.
First time here and on Cinco de Mayo. I arrived around 5pm, it was busy and lively. I called ahead and they don't take reservations, and happy hour goes till 6pm. It was about a 10 min wait for a small table. The menu is LARGE. There was no happy hour menu, had to wait for the server to tell me what the happy hour menu was. I ordered the hibiscus and watermelon margaritas, both were good and not overly sweet. According to the server they make all their syrups in house. I ordered street corn and bean dip off the happy hour menu and a couple of $3 tacos which is all day on Tuesdays. I liked the asada and won't do the carnitas again. My friend liked her shrimp tacos so much so that she ordered it twice- entree, regular menu. I appreciated the vibe and the service was top notch! I would try this place again.
We went on a double date with my husband's twin and his wife, and they suggested Don Orange since it's one of their favorite spots. From the moment we walked in, I could see why. The place has such a great vibe--stylish and thoughtfully decorated with a really cool atmosphere. The huge mural on the wall immediately caught my eye and gives the whole space a unique, artistic feel. Service was top notch from start to finish. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and made the experience feel relaxed and fun rather than rushed. They also make excellent cocktails here--definitely worth trying if you visit. All four of us absolutely devoured our meals. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented, and it's clear they put a lot of care into the food. It's the kind of place where you find yourself talking about how good everything is while you're eating it. Between the atmosphere, great drinks, and delicious food, it made for such a fun night out. We all agreed this is definitely a spot we'll be coming back to again.
This past Friday, we made a quick stop. My experience overall was good! I would come back for dinner or lunch. The watermelon cocktail was delicious!! The only bad point was the host. My friend checked to ensure there were chairs available at the bar before we walked in. When we walked in, to be polite we asked the host if we could just sit at the bar. She said NO, all seats were taken...excuse me ma'am, you didn't bother checking. We told her we had seen empty chairs so then she quickly glanced and said "oh okay" with an attitude. That part wasn't pleasant and probably not the best to be the first interaction upon entering the restaurant.
AMAZING FLAUTAS! I don't usually go looking for Mexican food. So, if I happen to go looking, this is one of my go to locations. I prefer going to the restart during their lunch time because their lunch menu has more reasonably priced food for Mexican cuisine options... Regardless, aside from pricing, the food is often absolutely fabulous! I just wish I could get fabulous tacos everywhere and perhaps for a bit less. Their chicken flautas is something I recently tried and I was amazed! The service and ambiance here at the restaurant has not disappointed me once. It is one of the reasons why I find myself not resisting to go back.
Just had Company Xmas party here last Thursday. The service was great. Staff are friendly, attentive and helpful. I can only review base on my experience and my taste. I love the churros actually my first time having churros with milk and chocolate topping. The chicken enchiladas is good but I am used to the regular chicken enchiladas- my first time as well and a little too spicy not hot chili spicy... maybe my palate needs conditioning to this flavor... it's flavorful and tasty. The drinks are great not water down. The ambiance and decor are giving a cool vibe. Restrooms are clean and located outside still inside the building though. The Parking is a pain or unless you go straight to the parking structure about 7-10 minutes walk. Overall its a very nice Party and I had a good time. Shout out to Christine! you rock! First visit here today. We were supposed to visit Cedar Agave upstairs & even though we made a 5 pm reservation, they said they were closed. We are from Palm Springs area. Not close. We decided to just eat here as we were hungry. I had a Passion Mule. It was good. My husband had a pineapple margarita. He enjoyed it. My chicken enchiladas were supposed to have chicken Tinga in them. They didn't. I hate false advertising. I needed salsa for my rice & beans but nobody came back to check on us for quite some time. Service is slow. My husband enjoyed his birria tacos. The fries were good too. The crème brûlée was simply OK. I've had much better. Not sure if I'd return, maybe when in the area but I wouldn't go out of my way.
11/19/25 After an event a few doors down, we decided to continue the party at Don Orange Tacos-- a nifty place to hangout & get out drinks/grub on. Service quick& friendly with delicious food. I love the vibe here, good music playing. The bar set up is aesthetically pleasing. Our server Jimmy was attentive & efficient. Hubby ordered the Chingon Burrito while I opted for the nachos to share among friends. For some strange coincidence, they all ordered the taquitos. Our food & beverages arrived shortly & we all enjoyed our selection. The portion of the nachos was sizable that even as we shared it, there was still plenty to take home. Would definitely return if in the area. Street parking (free) is available & a parking structure about a block away. We got lucky as we found a spot right in front of the restaurant.
This restaurant has an inviting industrial-modern décor with a great bar and a spacious patio. The open-air seating in the front of the restaurant gives you the feeling of being outdoors while still having plenty of coverage. Inside, there are three clean, gender-neutral restrooms--just remember to ask for the door code. Toward the back, there's a charming oyster bar that feels a bit like a speakeasy. The staff is incredibly friendly. Not only did our main server take great care of us, but several other staff members--who weren't even assigned to our table--checked in on us and helped clear plates. The teamwork made the service stand out in the best way. I visited during brunch, but they also offer some lunch and dinner items, so you can get a good sense of the full menu. I highly recommend the filet mignon tacos, shrimp tacos, and the breakfast burrito. The burrito is large enough to split and is both delicious and filling. The tortilla soup and street corn are also must-tries, and you'll almost certainly leave with a to-go box. The Diablo sauce is available on the side; despite the name, it isn't too spicy. The chips and salsa are excellent as well, with a mild salsa that most people can comfortably enjoy. A couple of things to note: they serve only pinto beans (no black beans), and they do not take reservations. When we arrived at 11:30 a.m., we were seated quickly. They open at 11, and while a small crowd formed, the wait seemed only about 5-10 minutes. Drink-wise, I recommend the spicy cucumber margarita. And don't miss the shrimp ceviche--it's so fresh and flavorful that you can easily enjoy it with just a spoon rather than using tortilla chips. One small touch I appreciated is that they leave a pitcher of water at your table, which is simple but smart. There's also plenty of nearby street parking and parking lots within walking distance, making the location very convenient.

As I made my way home from a work conference in Los Angeles to La Quinta, I had already been in standstill traffic for 3 1/2 hours. I decided to pull off the road in Redlands searching for dinner so I could wait out the traffic. I went to yelp to see what was around and saw some great reviews of this little treasure. As I drove down State Street, something was calling me inside and I from the moment I stepped through the doors, I knew that I had found a great spot! When I got to the bar, I was greeted by one of the friendliest bartenders I've met in a long time. Her name is Cassie..she had an energy around her that was welcoming and kind. We struck up a great conversation, and although I was asking her questions, she was attentive to all of the other guests and orders coming in. She handled everything with ease and like a pro I kept thinking, how pleasantly surprised I was to have stumbled upon this amazing restaurant! The food was delicious and of course it's Taco Tuesday so I was excited to try their Carnitas and Carne Asada tacos... They were unbelievable! The artwork and the vibe in this place is unreal, and you feel instantly at home with incredible energy swirling around the entire spot. Then I was blessed to meet the general manager (Rafael) who was equally kind and welcoming. You can tell this is a place that takes good care of their people and that everyone is very happy working there. I can always tell when there's a good culture happening because the people are thriving, smiling and at ease. It should be effortless because that's when you know they love what they're doing, and they believe in the company. I'm not sure if I'll make it back through Redlands again soon but if I do, this will be my first stop and it should be yours. HH Mon-Fri 2pm-5pm with lunch specials 11am-2pm. Margarita Mondays and taco Tuesdays all day! Great tacos & good times. This spot has some curb appeal. Luv the layout of the space. The decor captures your attention at every angle. Service was awesome! There's traditional menu items elevated with their special touch. Wish there were some extra salsa options with more heat and a touch more seasoning on the chicken. Food looked great but was a bit bland. High and low top tables, half booths. Walls of tequila displayed. Right in downtown Redlands next to The State. Limited parking right in front or parking lots, garages within a block.

Came to Don Orange as a new restaurant to us, but was pleasantly surprised. We came for an early dinner, which was nice as we hit the happy hour from 3 to 5. We ordered some cocktails, were delicious so we ordered a second before happy hour ended and also had a few appetizers off the happy hour menu before we ate dinner. All of our food was delicious and plentiful, but we really enjoyed our cocktails as they were mixed perfectly and not watered down like other restaurants during a happy hour experience. The industrial interior, contemporary calavera wall mural, and selected renditions of traditional dishes create a modern relaxed mood perfect for any upbeat gathering or table discussions. . Very adequate food portions considering the price and oh-so-worth it. The burrito boasts a massive serving halved in 2 different sauces. The portobello mushroom tacos are stuffed in slices and fajita wrapped in a fried bean lined corn tortilla (it was loaded). Although their menu is limited, everything pictured was delicious! . So met with a dear friend for lunch to congratulate on her new home, and came here. Glad we did as it's a cool vibe brick walls, ornate bar , mixed seating options...bar regular dining , high tables with hooks for purses, and bench seating (communal) . So ordered the tacos (veg) and the keto bowl and an ice tea and a shot of Gran Corralejo Anejo. The shot was indulgence as a bottle can run a buck twenty five give or take. The asada steak in the keto bowl was cooked perfectly adding the flavor to all the avocado, corn, bell peppers, and lettuce bed making it very tasty. The tacos were flavorful with refried beans peppers, lettuce and cilantro. It also came with a side of rice and beans. The service was very attentive! The server was cheerful and quick. It makes the dining experience all the more pleasurable. This a part of Redlands that I would explore more of , if I were down this far. Great food overall! The nachos and shrimp tacos were especially tasty, and the aguachiles were good though $21 for just 5 shrimp felt a bit much. I had a mocktail and it was perfection, really well-balanced and refreshing. The location is on the smaller side, but cozy. A bit pricey but I would come back! read more

This was for the weekend right before Cinco de Mayo. I chose this place to get a bite after seeing the ambiance and the vibe seemed cool from the outside. We told the hostess for 2 and we were quickly seated, which I liked. Other places had 40 minute wait. Inside, the decor was luxurious that fit that theme of the restaurant. We looked over the menu and saw traditional Mexican dishes. Our server seemed in a hurry and a bit annoyed when we told her we weren't ready yet. Other severs came by to ask how everything was going and we were offered $5 shots since it was Cinco de Mayo weekend. I liked how attentive servers were and I decided to get a drink when asked. I got the hibiscus margarita. I really enjoyed it and looks pretty. Our sever finally came by again and we got the aguachile and I asked if there was carne asada fries. The sever let us know that the aguachile was small and she could switch out the nachos dish for fries. I was happy about that. Our food came quick and she was right. The aguachile was TINY. My boyfriend is an expert in aguachile and although was impressed by how it was made, he would not get it again. I enjoyed my food and shared with him, since it was a decent size. Once we were done, we took a box, and paid with the server. It was $65, which I was a little taken back by. The aguachile was $21, which I definitely think was a bit steep. Arriving on the weekend for dinner? I would say to come beforehand so that you can sign up on their waiting list. It took average 30 mins for 2 people to get in. Parking: There is no public parking lot, but if you go further down on E State St there will be more parking spaces available for a 2 hr limit. Dia de los Muertos Holiday Menu: Pear Margarita. You're going to actually taste and feel the spicy juice. Just didn't wish it was rimmed with pumpkin cinnamon spice, but I get the holiday creativity. Cheesy Birria Tacos (3 tacos): Comes with a side of birria dip. Cooked warm shredded meat and juice seeped out of every bite. You're going to need to wash your hands eating this dish. Steak, Caesar Salad: SO SO GOOD. If you're not the type of person to order salad, but would want to share an veggie dish with a group of 3 or 4. I would order this. It's PACKED with so many greens and the there is a good balance between the lime spritz, dressing and the thin tortilla chips. Highly recommend getting the steak to level up this salad bowl. Steak was so juicy and seasoned well. Aguachile (Comes with a BIG basket of chips): Taste was great, but not that great of a choice if you're choosing it as a chip and dip dish. It would be better and more manageable if the whole dish was chopped up into pieces so that you can scoop it up with the chip. read more

From the moment we walked in the ambiance was 10/10! It's dark, mysterious and the music was great. Checking in was fast and easy, the front host was a bit short. She clearly was just there to do her job and nothing more. However as soon as we got were seated, our waitress was the best. I really feel bad for not remembering her name but she was just so happy! So full of energy and life. She was attentive and fast. Food came out rather fast. We ordered the street corn starter, 7/10 Good flavor needed a bit more salt. (Don't forget to order the chips as well) I got the chipotle shrimp tacos 8.5/10 very tasty! My husband got the aguachile de camarón he graded it 7.5/10 (it did look very bland but it was tasty) For dessert we got the crème brûlée de coco. I was brought here for my birthday dinner. I absolutely loved it! Service was great. Our dinners were delicious and beautifully plated. I had a margarita flight. For some reason the mango one, I didn't like. The others were fire though. The definite show stopper here is the Fuego Shot. Get it nighttime , the lights are more dramatic than daytime. read more

Excellent, i was surprised how Redlands has change and the downtown is beautiful with so many choices to eat specially this place . Place has super cool Wall decorations customer service great , I went on a Sunday afternoon with a table of 3 . No waiting line! The drinks are great and cute presentation and food is delicious . I try the guacamole and tacos de papa for appetizers. Great choice! Ordered enchiladas and everything was delicious . I forgot to take pictures of the food lol I'm sorry but ... here's a pic of my dessert .. btw was delicious! I recommend this place and definitely come back !! read more

I've been to this place a couple of times--the atmosphere is beautiful and the vibe is definitely a plus. A friend and I recently came by for some drinks and appetizers. While the presentation was nice, the flight I ordered wasn't really my thing--it tasted pretty bland, and for the price, it didn't feel worth it. The service, on the other hand, was great. Our waiter checked in with us regularly and was super attentive. As for the food, it's okay. I wouldn't say it tastes like authentic Mexican food, especially by California standards where there's no shortage of amazing, traditional spots. It's more of a modern twist, but it misses that depth and flavor I look for in Mexican cuisine. read more

This place is located in the heart of downtown Redlands. Cute place to come eat for lunch, happy hour and dinner. First time coming here and staff gave a warm welcome. Street tacos - amazing carne asada meat! Well flavored and perfectly cooked! cheesy Birria tacos - this was an OK dish Taquitos de papa - WOW must try! They make the outside with purple tortilla that is lightly fried! Just amazing!!!!!! Parking can be challenging but plenty around the area. read more

So this is the first time I have been there, I tried to go before hand but for the longest time they were closed, and I'm not sure why. But my husband and I went for dinner... and it was okay... I believe it was super overpriced for what it was (you're paying for the ambiance/location). I got the street corn & birria tacos while my husband got ceviche & shrimp tacos. The corn had so many over-roasted kernels that I was almost inedible, & my husbands tacos came wrong the first time, (wrong protein) and then once they fixed it, it was so spicy it was like they dropped it in a volcano which made that almost inedible. The service was okay, there was no clear waiter/waitress everyone seems to tag team which is great, but I think it causes confusion though, like them messing up our order. (BTW: don't pay for a soda with meal... they give you a single can and charge you $3 for it). I'll probably try again, but not for dinner... maybe for brunch or something. read more

Went on a Monday for date night, and I was surprised to see how busy it was after we were seated. It felt like the seating was a little too close to the other people dining next to us. We had to endure a very obnoxious conversation between two women, they were laughing and hollering, and were extremely rude to the same server we had. We couldn't even hear our own thoughts sitting next to them. Our server did take a while to get to our drinks and appetizers, but serviced us very well, and very kindly. Food was exceptional, we were more than happy with what we got. I definitely recommend splurging a bit and getting the Barbacoa Short Rib dish, but when in doubt, get the birria tacos! Definitely LOVE the bar area and the entire look of the restaurant, it's a great atmosphere. read more
Before you read the rest, just try this spot. I was so pleasantly surprised! I work in the Ontario area and am used to really good Mexican food so for this to be a 10/10 for me, it's a big deal. Every item we had was very well seasoned especially the meat and fajita veggies. Normally I'm fairly picky about rice and beans because sometimes the rice is dry and doesn't really have much taste but Don Orange's rice and beans blew me away. The rice was soft, flavorful and the same for the beans. Also the drink menu was perfect , they had a little bit of everything and the drinks weren't watered down at all. My favorite part of course was the open windows and the decor. We were seated right away which is always a treat and our waitress was always accessible. I'll definitely be back here. read more

Came here today with my husband and toddler and I was incredibly happy with the service and food. They had a Monday margarita special and they were perfectly made! Really delicious and fresh. My son got the kids quesadilla and fries and my husband got the burrito. I loved the atmosphere and the guac was delicious! Our waitress was so sweet and patient. Definitely will be coming back!
