Dog Star Walkers is truly the best! I really needed a dog walker, but there was a lack of dog walking businesses that serviced my area (I live in Jefferson Park). I was also struggling with knowing if I could really trust someone to not only come into my home, but more importantly, to care for my two precious pups. Kristin came to my home, when I was there, for an initial meet & greet with the pups. They loved her right away, and I was sold. She played with the pooches and was very interested in everything I had to tell her about them, in order to get to know their personalities. The first day of walking, she stayed an hour -- the note she left said that my little girl pup, Penny, was a little apprehensive at first. Kristin cared enough to stay and make sure the pooches were totally comfortable and could trust her. I've been with Dog Star for about 3 weeks now, and I love working with them. The notes Kristin leaves each day are fun to read when I get home from work. And my pooches don't tackle me as soon as I walk in the door -- I miss that, but I know that it's because they've had some great exercise already. They're content and happy. In Kristin's note last week, she said that Penny (my apprehensive one) even greeted her with a big "toothy smile" when she'd arrived that day. I've been using Dog Star Walkers for almost two months now and I really can't say enough good things about them. I contacted them in desperation. Our dog walker suddenly got a job and we needed to find someone to take over, quick. Between the time I contacted them via their website and the time they called me back to set up an appointment to come over, less than 24 hours had passed. Marika, one of the owners, arranged to come by and meet the pups. She brought over Patrick, who would be our walker. They were both warm people and extremely friendly with the dogs. The dogs took to them immediately. Patrick started walking the dogs the day after our walker left. We expected him to take over for a few weeks while our walker was away. The weeks turned into months (our original walker never came back), and we couldn't be happier. Dog Star Walkers is not only extremely reliable, their prices are reasonable and they offer all kinds of services beyond dog walking. If you live on the north side, they should be your first call when looking for a walker. read more

Dogstar walkers are fantastic!!! I have 2 cats and 1 dog, and all but one have challenging personalities. I have a nervous, spastic dog and a 1 devil-cat. So i get pretty nervous leaving them in the hands of other people. But these 2 ladies are so warm and sweet and down to earth. They are great with animals and take special care to understand any special needs or directions you give them. Having all shelter animals, i love that their website has a section dedicated to helping place animals in need of homes. The rates are extremely reasonable and their scheduling is easy and convenient! This is an extremely trust-worthy small business and run by great people. read more

Kristin has been walking our beloved Westie (West Highland White Terrier) for 2 years now. She is the best walker we have ever hired. We never question Kristin's devotion to our dog. Our dog greets Kristin with enthusiasm for her walks. Kristin knows allot about dogs and when asked, she has offered great recommendations regarding dog friendly foods etc. that we have taken. Our neighborhood has challenges like stray dogs and sometimes strange characters walking around. Kristin always handles each situation as if our dog was her own. Kristin has a big heart and I highly recommend Kristin caring for your 4-legged child or managing your dogs walks and away care. We recently started working with Emmy on Kristin's team. I wanted to post an update after reading Michael M's review - I am still a happy client and now that their business has grown (yay for them!!), my walker is J*** and I still couldn't be happier. My dogs adore him and he takes extra special care of my special needs cats - even bringing in extra DSW backup one day to make sure one of my sick cats got their medicine in the least stressful manner possible. Above and beyond. Honestly, it sounds like Dog Star did all they could to accommodate Michael, the owner coming to meet with him and his dogs and the new walker, adjusting their bill etc - I guess there are some people you just can't please. ANYWAY - If you are looking for a dog walking, pet sitting service that is run by people that love animals - theirs and yours - and are careful with the environment, you cannot do better than Dog Star. I know one of their clients even had their walker walk their dog down the aisle for them in their wedding - if that's not testimony to how much people love Dog Star I don't know what is!!! read more

My roommate decided to go out of town for the holidays on short notice, which left me scrambling around to find a last minute dog walker for my beloved pit/mix. It seemed impossible, as most dog walkers wouldn't serve my neighborhood (Albany Park) and were filled up late December/Early January. Not Dog Star Walkers! These guys were able to schedule a meet-up the same day, and had no problems coming the times I needed! When my roommate had a death in the family and had to leave town the next day, Dog Star Walkers were totally willing to fill in last minute. These guys are awesome. read more

Dog Star Walkers are seriously the best! I didn't know what to do when my puppy was too young for walks at the park but I needed to go to work! Now Laura comes twice a day and is so great with my pup Hank. I love the notes and pictures, and my dog is doing really well at getting potty trained with the extra help. I used Dog Star Walkers for a few months, I hate to say that we were not happy. We were told that the owner would be walking our dogs daily, but within two weeks they gave them up and turned it over to a guy. My older dog was not really happy with a male walker and Dog Star Walkers when I called said they are too busy and J*** would have to be the walker. The owner came a few times to get j*** to get to know my dogs. My older dog was not really happy with J*** (not to say he was a nice guy he was) by my dog just did not like him. The owner did not want to change it, we were not happy with that. When we got some of the bill the price was a little off and had to contact them about it. They stated that it was a lack of communication with the walker and the office. We did have to cancel or service with them for the problems and concerns. I just would like to let everyone know if you are not happy with something you need to take action right away. I hope that they will improve in the future. read more
