We have been a client of Dogs Deserve It since 2018 and I could not be happier with their service and their love for my dogs. They treat them like their own :) the daily walk updates with pictures and cute notes is worth everything! I love that they assign a walker to your address long term, so you don't have someone new every day and they become part of the family. We've also been fortunate to have walkers that are willing and available for overnight care and stay at our house while we travel :) 5 stars! read more

My two little doggies have been with DDI for many years and the quality and care they have maintained throughout the years has been exemplary! Dogs Deserve It, is a professional service. They have back up plans when a walker is out and their website and technology is top notch - I get daily pictures of the pups, a summary of what they did on their walk! Highly recommend DDI! Thanks for taking such good care of my furbabies read more

Best dog walking and pet sitting service we have ever used. Always a great experience. The employees of Dog Deserve It treat our pup like their own. By far the best company we have ever partnered with! read more

I LOVE THEM. I get detailed updates about my dog's walk and a map of where they went. My dog walkers, Liam and Jack, are the best and they take better photos of my dog than I do. I'm a last minute person and they've gone out of their way to accommodate me. read more

We are so grateful to Rachel to have her walk our two dogs twice a week. She leaves the best updates when she is done! After the pandemic, it was hard to transition away from being home every day, but we feel better knowing someone is helping to take care of our dogs while we are away (even giving medications when needed!). read more

We are over the moon with our dog walker Logan and our dog sitter Lilly. I couldn't imagine life without these two. I was skeptical and very much a 'first time parent' when it came to entrusting these two with my dogs. Logan is wonderful with my girls, very patient and kind and adapts to their unique needs. Lilly has been a wonderful addition to my dogs circle of friends and she had become like family to us. She sends lots of pictures and I know my dogs are in good hands when I have to leave town. We are truly thankful for the DDI team and they've been a key part to our new adventure in Chicago. read more

Dogs Deserve It has been an amazing service for me and my partner to supplement our walks. They are very professional and all their walkers are well-trained, friendly, and seem to love what they do! We loved our walker, Yaz. Every walk without fail, they took meticulously well shot photos of our pup Lucy. I've attached one of these pictures. We were worried about giving Lucy off to a stranger, but they put as at ease very quickly and Lucy gets the zoomies even at the mention of their name. We've used DDI since we moved to Chicago in 2019 and have had nothing but positive experiences. We have a usual walker, although it has changed a few times over the years as their client base shifts. Every walker we've had is fantastic, but we especially love Rachel - Teddy really seems to connect with her and her end of walk notes are always good for a laugh! The service is super professional and reliable. I can only think of one time in 3 years that they've been running late (and they offered to comp that walk, we declined because it was like 20 mins late!), so you can definitely count on them and not worry that your fur baby won't be taken care of. Very thankful for our friends at DDI! read more

We've used DDI from the moment we got our (then) puppy 4.5 years ago. Since day 1, Patrick has been our dog's primary walker and he is the absolute best. Every walk, we receive pictures and updates on the walk. We've never had to worry about cancellations - Patrick and the whole team have been as reliable as they come. When we've recently needed emergency walks as we were in the hospital for the birth of our child, the team was able to respond quickly and accommodate us. We are moving, so unfortunately we need to part ways with DDI and for the first time since we got our dog, we have to think about his weekly care. If you're looking for a reliable, friendly, and affordable dog walking service, I couldn't recommend DDI any higher. read more

I was referred to DDI during the pandemic when my usual service (Chicago Urban Pets, also wonderful) was no longer available. DDI has gone above and beyond in helping me schedule coverage for my cat. They always promptly respond to my emails and, now that my cat is in her final days, they are beyond empathetic and helpful in dealing with my last minute changes and requests. Liam has been her most frequent catsitter/buddy and I am beyond grateful for the wonderful care that he has provided. Everyone we've interacted with has been wonderful. Thanks, DDI! read more

Dogs Deserve It and the team have been outstanding over the years they've taken care of our dogs, especially when we are out of town and need walks/feeding for however many days we're gone. This is a bit of a strange post, as I am not a actual client. However, I am a pet care expert and a dog trainer and I have been in a pet industry for 25+ years. I know what it takes to operate a reputable pet care business. So I want to take a moment and share my thoughts and opinions about Dogs Deserve It and the company's leadership, as I have been impressed since I first learned about DDI almost a decade ago. Lauren, the owner, goes out of her way to train and support her team of pet care providers. She has always done the right thing as far as insurance, licensing and employment structure is concerned. She's one of the people that I turn to if I have any questions about best practices or need advice around current industry trends. I am almost embarrassed that I've never thought to leave a review in the past, but I suppose better late than never! Selecting a Petcare provider is as important as any other decision you make, and I can promise you that this company does it right. If you are looking for a dog walker or anyone to take care of your beloved pets, it's with my whole heart I recommend Dogs Deserve It. - Jamie Migdal CEO FetchFind read more

We love DDI! Our 2 year old goldendoodle Charlie has been an active client since he was a tiny puppy! The absolute best part about DDI is the customer service and amazing staff. They are always ready to help and accommodate the craziest of dog parents (me). Charlie started with 2 walks a day when he was a puppy. Now he loves his office "field trips" every Wednesday with Danielle and the crew. Having one day a week where we don't have to worry about taking him to daycare or get home in time to give him an evening walk or feed him dinner is unbelievably helpful!! He also gets walks on Fridays so he gets some days off from the hum drum of normal daycare. We learned very quickly that dogs need variety rather than the same thing everyday. He now has a more structured schedule than most children, but we love it! Oh, and they also take care of our kitty friends when we are out of town! We trust every team member there and couldn't recommend them more to take the best care of your pets. read more

DDI is hands down the best dog walking and petsitting service! I was worried about finding a reliable and trustworthy dog walker when my husband and I moved to Chicago two years ago. We've used them for two years in both places we've lived (in Lincoln Park/Lakeview and in Lincoln Square) and have been blown away by their client service and animal knowledge. They do both daily dog walking and cat-sitting for us. My experiences with both are below: Dog Walking: I have an Australian shepherd that's wary of strangers and told Lauren (the owner of DDI) about this during my initial walk consult. She was very comfortable and knowledgeable with how to handle it and by the end of her visit, my dog was bringing her toys and begging for more attention. All of the walkers are also well-equipped to handle my dog and she's loved every single one of them. We get notes every day on how the walk went which really brighten up my day at the office and gives me peace of mind that my dog is well cared for. Administratively I wish I could give DDI 6 stars (Alli does most of the communication and she's amazing)! They are proactive communicators regarding any walker absences/changes and always make sure someone is able to take care of our dog within our scheduled timeframe (I request a 2-hr window in which our dog needs to be walked everyday) so I don't need to worry about anything. When weather is too bad for a regular walk (remember the winter of 2014?!?!) they'll send everyone a note explaining that walks will be shortened and replaced with indoor play/cuddle time. During the canine influenza outbreak this year they sent notes about what they were doing to limit the risk to our pets while they were in DDI's care and provided info for what we as owners could do too. Sometimes I'm stuck late at work and need a last minute evening walk for my dog, it's never an issue, I just email them and they work it out. I can rest easy and concentrate on what I need to get done everyday knowing DDI is taking care of my dog. We also did the 2014 PAWS Run for Their Lives 5k with DDI, they treat all their clients and their pets as part of their family! Catsitting: I use DDI for cat-sits during the holidays. The holidays are busy for DDI so I make reservations ahead of time. Our regular dog walker is usually able to cover these as well which is nice because she sees the cats everyday when she comes to take out our dog (they love her too... I usually get a comment in my daily walker note about my cats demanding attention from our walker as she's trying to get our dog leashed). We leave instructions with DDI and they communicate them to the person that's coming to care for the cats. They're fed and watered, litter is scooped and taken outside to the trash and then she pets and plays with them for the remaining time. We also get a note every time she comes (it gets emailed to us like the daily dog walk notes) telling us how they're doing. It helps us relax when we're out of town knowing they're in good hands! Other wonderful things about DDI: They've just started doing field trips on certain days for their client's dogs (eg, a walk to the lakefront and playing at the beach). I haven't taken advantage of this yet for our dog but it sounds pretty awesome. You have to sign up your dog ahead of time, there are additional fees and behavior requirements for the dogs (e.g. They can't be leash aggressive bc they'll be with other dogs) but if you want your dog to do something different from a normal walk one day this is it! The online system they use to keep track of pet profiles and billing information is easy to use. Their rates are competitive with other dog walking companies and individuals for equivalent amounts of walk time. Last winter one of their managers (Christy) did a photo shoot for clients and their dogs at DDI's office. It was a lot of fun and the proceeds went to an animal rescue organization. We got a few frame-worthy shots of our dog just in time for the holidays for an incredibly reasonable price that went to a great cause!!! read more

Imagine your perfect dog walking business. I will spare you the wait: this is it! There is nothing I don't love about dogs deserve it. The staff was responsive and nice about setting up an initial visit with us, and I really valued the fact that they come visit you and talk with you and meet your dog before signing a contract. They have a fantastic online system for scheduling and tracking appointments, and I have never had an issue booking one. Above all, the walkers are great. They send you a message when the walk begins and ends, and let you know how it went - if you love your dog, sign them up for dogs deserve it. They will thank you! read more

Picture this: nervous new puppy parent, never owned a dog before, with a work schedule that doesn't allow sneaking home to let the puppy out. Enter Dogs Deserve It. After rave reviews from my next door neighbor and her Pit-Boxer pup, I called Lauren the owner to set up a time to meet. I was desperate to get everything set up since I had a brain fart and didn't make arrangements BEFORE I brought home Maggie, my Yellow Lab-Beagle mix. Lauren worked quickly to help me get walking services arranged. I could breathe easy. Maggie LOVES her walker Suzanne. I love her walker, although I'm not around to meet her! DDI has a great system that puts your mind at ease. They check in via e-mail when the appointment starts and then again when the appointment is done, complete with a report on what happened during the visit (#1, #2, food, behavior, etc.). They have even helped me with Maggie's leash etiquette. I feel like she gets great reinforcement with Suzanne. Even when a sub had to step in, I was happy with the service. If you need additional appointments, with advanced notice you can book online. It has come in handy when I know that I have to work late or have a work outing to attend. The price and the service are just right! Overall, Maggie and I are happy customers! read more

DDI has been more than wonderful to me and my nearly 16 year old Shiba Inu and I honestly cannot say enough about how they are not just indispensable to us but have become part of our family. We've been using them for about 6 years and they have always taken amazing care of my very complicated dog and helped me navigate a couple of challenging travel situations. For anyone who knows Shibas, they can be difficult and confounding dogs. I travel frequently for work (for stretches between 2 - 18 days) and used to take my pup to a wonderful pet hotel for boarding. Once she turned 10, the stress of it took too much of a toll on her, so I tried DDI because they had a lot of home-based options. My pup wouldn't stand for having anyone in the house overnight, so we settled on "goodnight" and "good morning" walks, along with additional walks during the day to get her good coverage while I was away. As with many older dogs, she is on a special diet and takes several pills. The DDI walkers have been excellent about following the (often elaborate) feeding instructions I leave - including some with numerous steps required to be followed in a particular order. They are also very patient with my very shy pup as she can be a special challenge to leash. About 3 years ago, we added weekday walks (M-F), and it has made a huge difference to my pup's mental health. She'll be turning 16 in a few months and I credit DDI's care with part of the reason that she can still bounce and play despite her age and health issues. As with anything in life, nothing is perfect, but when there have been sanfus, DDI has been absolutely incredible - including making a 1:30 am visit when my pup didn't cooperate with the "goodnight" walk she was scheduled for several hours earlier. Knowing that DDI has someone on call for emergencies, even in the middle of the night, is an amazing safety net. I haven't had to use that net often, but when I have, DDI has been there. DDI also takes care of their employees, by offering them benefits, providing guaranteed hours and recognizing that DDI cannot exist without the walkers. Although this means that prices have increased since we've been using them, the additional cost has been returned tenfold by the individual commitment the walkers have to my pup. In the time that I've been with DDI, they've updated their technology to allow real time communication, as well as easy scheduling and account management. I absolutely love the communication feature as I can add last minute notes for that day's walker and message them in real time while they are with my pup. DDI has been indispensable to me and my older pup, but they also provide special programs for puppies and cats and have a multitude of other services that we have not used (including field trips!). I strongly encourage you to talk to Lauren and her team to see how they can become indispensable to you as well. read more

I have been a customer since October 2017 & I couldn't be happier with Dogs Deserve It. I have a German Shepherd named Leah & she is 9 years old. She suffers from arthritis. Here are all the reasons why I love DDI: - They take special care of Leah during her walks & keep an eye on her arthritis. - They have an app that makes scheduling so easy. You can personally message your walker. You can set-up, cancel, or reschedule your walks & they give you a full report of their walk which includes a map of their route, if they peed/pooped, if they fed/filled their water, & notes. They also take a photo of your pet before & after their walk. You can add notes to your account like specific feeding instructions. - They accommodate my last minute requests which helps me out so much. - They have excellent communication. Evertime I email or message them through the app I always get a quick response. I don't have to wait days to hear back. - Their offices has been so patient with me when it comes to any last minute changes & forget-fullness on my end. They have always been kind & professional in our communications. - I had no issues with them entering my home & have met our walkers a few times which was so nice. I do let them use our restroom in our apartment & they have always been courteous. - Leah loves them! I did have an issue where past walkers were not putting her harness on correctly. I notified DDI & they took care of it right away. They make sure their customers are heard which says a lot to me. They never blamed me or the walker for anything, they just made sure the issue was resolved. I appreciate that. Our walkers Nathan Chott & Kyle Meyers have always been so nice. They both go the extra mile to make sure Leah is taken care of. I'm so glad I was able to find a dog walking service that I can trust & count on! read more

I want to start by saying that I am an anxious mess when I go to work and leave my 7-month rescue puppy at home alone. Dogs Deserve It has relieved so much of my stress! They have done such an amazing job walking my little Rory! Rory gets a daily 25-minute walk from her Dogs Deserve It walker. She has the same walker every day and if her walker is off, then she has the same substitute walker. Everyone at DDI is super communicative. They always answer my emails right away and send a daily report about Rory's walk (including photos!) I feel as though they truly care about and love my pup! My puppy can be very nervous around new people and still has occasional accidents in the house. Her walkers have been extremely patient with her and always go out of their way to make sure my house is clean and Rory has water before they leave. Their reports are always so positive, even if she was a little naughty! Thank you so, so much DDI! Rory will continue loving her walks! read more

We've been using DDI for daily walks for about nine months now. For the most part, we've been absolutely thrilled. Our rescue pup is a sweetheart, but she's a bit anxious around and suspicious of new people. I think it says it all that she warmed up almost instantly to Kenzie and Julia, who have been her two full-time walkers (and who both deserve specific mention for taking such good care of our goofball). The daily reports are great: pictures, a quick status update about the walk, and GPS tracking to show us the walk route. The only reason this isn't a five-star rating (and honestly, I still debated whether it should be) is that there was a stretch of weeks in between Kenzie and Julia during which we didn't have a full-time walker, and instead had a rotating group of folks. That didn't work quite as well for us, but to DDI's credit, they proactively worked with us to help address our concerns (and refunded the cost of a couple of walks). Perhaps most important, they've redesigned their business model now to ensure that dogs see almost exclusively the same walkers every day. Props to Lauren et al for incorporating customer feedback and enacting change accordingly. read more

Dogs Deserve It is great! They take wonderful care of my dog who is shy and a little slow to warm up, but she has loved the walkers they have assigned to her. Super impressed with them so far. We adopted a dog, sort of unplanned, but I had spoken to DDI in anticipation of doing this, so they had a heads up that I may be reaching out soon. They were wonderful even when I only inquired about services, followed up to see how it was going and then made time to come meet our dog and see our place quickly after we adopted. The in-person meeting was great with Daniel, and everyone else I have interacted with has been super nice and helpful. Our dog gets his daily afternoon walk, and the walkers always come on time (two hour window), and a very nice with our dog. I haven't used other services but I have to say that I've been impressed with what a well run business it is. read more

I adopted my dog 3 years ago. He (Archie) is the love of my life...so when it came to having someone watch him (who I didn't know), I was scared to death. I was so thrilled to find Dogs Deserve It. I live in Old Town and the care I get is unbelievable. One time my dog was supposed to be picked up by a friend (who forgot to get him) and DDI saved the day! Another time I had a last minute medical emergency and again they helped me through it. DDI is so accommodating and wonderful. It is nice to get to know the walkers (for the most part you get the same walker not a random person so your dog gets to know him/her). The office staff is amazing too!!! There are a ton of other dog services but the difference is that I trust the people in my house AND with my dog (they do more background checks and interviewing than other dog walking services). I want to preface that I have waited a year to write this review because I was so seething from my experience: I started using DDI after a friend recommended them and I had read all the glowing reviews. My dog was 11 and starting to slow down but I still wanted her out and about while I was at work. They send you notes everyday and it's time stamped so it all seemed really legitimate. After the first week the walker explained that my dog was really slow so he couldn't go far because he was worried he wouldn't have time to get back so they were barely walking .2 miles per walk. Fast forward a month - I had the flu and was barely able to get out of bed so I just shut my door and had him come as usual as if I wasn't there. He came in & "started" the walk - at which time he proceeded to hang on my couch for 12 minutes and then quickly took her out for 2-3 minutes before leaving - my favorite part was the carefully crafted note about their "walk". I reached out to Lauren and she assured me this was not the norm - I mean what else was she going to say - he was warned but things didn't get better. I came home early once to witness him dragging my elderly dog while texting on his phone. I had already planned to be out of town so I couldn't cancel my service with DDI because I didn't have a back up and Lauren assured me someone else would be staying with my dog who was wonderful. I'll just fast forward to what I came home to - the sitter left multiple used condoms in my bed side trash and there was throw up in my bathroom when I arrived home. I was STUNNED to say the least - when I told Lauren she actually said to me "Ugh I can't believe this - now I have to find someone to replace her" - excuse me? You're complaining to me. At the heart of all of this I just want to say - our animals are family - the constant in all of these instances is that the individuals here don't seem to be led be a genuine interest in taking care of the animal you're paying them to assist with. The unfortunate part in all of this is our animals can't speak up for themselves so please stand up for your pets and do not use DDI. read more

Having a dog is big responsibility. Its like having a kid in some regards, and just as I'd carefully choose a caregiver for my child I place the same importance on finding one for my dog. Dogs Deserve It was a referral to me from a friend who'd been using the company. When I called Lauren, the owner, to set up dog walking services for my own pooch she came over to meet him and to explain her company's policies. "Yoshimi was acting a little weird on our walk today. She kept looking behind her and seemed scared. But there wasn't anything there. Maybe she's being haunted, haha. She was fine when we came back and ate the rest of her food." This is just one of my many favorite updates I've gotten at work while Cynthia comes to my house to take care of my mini-goldendoodle puppy, Yoshimi. I LOVE THESE UPDATES. I LOVE DDI. I strongly recommend DDI to anyone looking for dog walking services. I found Lauren's business after someone referred me on EveryBlock (a social media site that no longer exists). Lauren is the utmost professional and uses technology as it should be used. She has her walkers scan a QR code at the beginning and the end of each walk, so i know the duration and what happened during the walk (walker leaves comments). Cynthia my walker is quite funny. Here's more: "Looks like Yoshimi has figured out how to open the bedroom door. Everything in the apartment is fine but I still put her back in the bedroom again and tied the door up. Let me know if you just want to leave her free in the apartment from now on." "Yoshimi and I had a very nice walk. We got stopped a couple times by people that wanted to say hello to yoshimi. She was so amazing! She sat there quietly, she wasn't too crazy, and the jumping was very minimal and she stopped when I asked her to. She has to be the most behaved little puppy I've ever met." Did you hear that? The most behaved puppy she has ever met! I am such a proud mom. Thank you to Cynthia, Lauren and the rest of the DDI team that takes care of Yoshimi the way I would if I could from 9-5. read more
