Hillarie has been our main walker and our sweet girl Maeve is in love with her. I assure you this is not an easy ask. Maeve is picky and high maintenance, but that has not been an issue. Hillarie adores her and we could not be more pleased. The app is easy to manage, I can change the schedule as needed, communicate with my walker or the main office ---- truly we are beyond happy. We have multi-layered instructions for our girl when walking and Hillarie uses the training words just perfectly. I would recommend this company in a heart beat. Life Savers! We have been looking for a dog walker that was not too expensive and worked with our schedule. My husband travels during the week, and I can't always leave work right at 5pm. Our dog is also getting older so we wanted to make sure he was comfortable during the day with a third walk, which is when we decided to get him a dog walker. My husband found WCP on Google, and their prices were so much more reasonable than Baroo. We set up a meeting with one of the managers, Kendra and she was so kind! She paid so much attention to the pets and asked so many questions, I was not nervous at all to leave our furbaby with them. We were matched with Jake, who has done wonders for our Lou. I worked from home one day and saw their relationship, it melted my heart. Lou was so excited to see Jake, I was totally forgotten, and Jake was so sweet with him. They also do cat sitting! And the best part, it will be Jake. So Ricky (our cat) knows him, Jake knows our place and I am so happy to know that he will be take care of while we are gone. I was a client of Windy City Paws for about a year and a half. I found WCP through a neighbor referral - in fact, several of my neighbors recommended Windy City Paws. There are so many things that I loved about Windy City Paws. First, I appreciated that they did an initial home visit to meet me and my dog, Ace, and to learn more about Ace's needs. They took lots of notes about Ace's personality, temperament, likes/dislikes, and where they could find things like treats and cleaning supplies in the house. I also loved having one walker with a consistent schedule so that my dog did not have to walk with a stranger every time. Our walker, Isamar, was extremely dependable and always sent cute emails and photos updating us on how Ace's walk went! Several of my neighbors work from home and would sometimes see Ace with Isamar, and would always tell me that she seemed to be really good with him, which was great to hear! Any time I had to communicate with WCP's office staff about issues or changes in schedule, they were always super professional and easy to communicate with. The office staff would always give us a heads up when our regular walker had a scheduled vacation and someone else would be filling in. It was also super easy to cancel and/or request additional services on their website. I was almost always able to get a walker to fill in for an additional time slot when I needed it. I recently moved away from Chicago and honestly have to say that leaving WCP was one of the hardest parts of the move. As a client of WCP I always had great peace of mind knowing that Ace was in good hands, and I know Ace misses them as well! read more

I'm updating the old review I wrote because shortly after I wrote it we were paired with a new walker, Gavin. We cannot find enough great things to say about Gavin!! Gavin is so attentive with our pup and you can really tell they truly care about the well being of dogs. Gavin's notes are so thorough and HILARIOUS - my boyfriend and I text each other every day after Gavin leaves notes so that we could chuckle at what was written. They really take the time to share everything that happened on the walk and have a touch of humor that we love. I've worked from home a few times that Gavin has come and saw how my dog interacts with them. Safe to say that she loves Gavin. I used Windy City Paws last month to care for my cat Ruth while out of town. It was my first service so we did a virtual consult ahead of time and they took very detailed care notes for the sitter. I was apprehensive at first having never met them in person, but the virtual consult and thorough communication put me at ease. While I was away, Valerie did an amazing job caring for my cat Ruth. This dog walking company has been very loyal to me and my dog that I adopted over 2 years ago. He had serious behavioral challenges for over a year. I'm most impressed by our current walker, Veronica L., who has been with us for a year. She has dedicated herself to extensive dog behavioral training to help dogs like Spencer, who is a sensitive, goofy, nosey 4 year old bulldog mix. Spencer is doing so well now, in large part to the support of Veronica L.! We had a home visit where they went over where everything is located in our house and helped us set up the spare key lockbox. Hillarie S. is our walker and she's been great! While they are a pricier option for dog walking in the city, I feel like they are worth it because I completely trust their walkers and really like their scheduling system. Upon calling them frantically trying to get a new dog walker, they were warm, calming, and welcoming on the phone and got us in last minute for a meet & greet. Someone from WCP came to our apartment, and took very thorough notes while listening to us talk all about our dog, Ralph. They wanted to know literally everything about him. We are also very happy with our walker, Rolando. We have a camera and can see how sweet and gentle he is with Ralph, not to mention the nice messages and photos we get every single day after Ralph's walk. He also feeds him and gives him treats, and puts up with his weird quirks! Overall, we're very happy with the service we've received. We absolutely love Windy City Paws! We needed to find a dog walking company to take care of our two mini dachshunds and Windy City paws has been exceptional. We tried another company before Windy City and they weren't able to accommodate any of our non-standard requests (e.g., wiping the dogs' paws at the end of a walk, carrying them downstairs because stairs are bad for their long backs), but Windy City was happy to handle our requests. In particular, our walker Dave is outstanding. It's evident from his notes and photos of the dogs after walks that he cares about them a lot and treats them like they're his own. He even brought the dogs to meet us while we were having our wedding pictures taken - we never would have been able to have them in our pictures without Dave. While my regular dog walker(s) were super fantastic and very good with my little bean, the owner, Katie, showed signs of lacking Compassion, Customer Focus and capability to be flexible with unique, unforeseen issues. I WAS a reoccurring and loyal client of 5 years (I had used WCP for 5+ walks a week PLUS several overnights per year) is less than client-friendly. Over the last 5 years, WCP had made one very helpful change to their cancellation policy for daily walks (much more client-friendly), however when when it calls for compassion for last minute, out of the client's control, travel cancellations (those who travel know the pain of cancelled flights!), Katie is less than accommodating and lacks understanding. She called to, what I thought was going to be a cordial service call, and it ended up being filled with her being defensive as to why she needed to charge me the full $75.00, and accusatory towards things that had not occurred during my tenure as a client. While there certainly is understanding that the walker still needs to be paid (100% supportive of this - they gave up their evening to petsit) there certainly could have been a much more productive call towards a happy medium - one that both the walker and client, are happy. The only ones who now suffer are my pup and the walkers who also loved the little bean. read more

So grateful to Windy City Paws for taking care of my 70 pound fur-baby, Kevin! I've been a client since April 2017 and I wholeheartedly now understand that not all dog walking services are created equally. Some are simply that much better than the rest, and WCP is definitely the best. Wonderful! If you live near Lincoln Park or Lakeview - Windy City Paws is the dog walking service for you! We started using them over a year and a half ago for daily walks with our beloved German Shepherd. They have never failed to be consistent, kind, and accommodating. You can book or cancel walks online easily but they also provide direct email access. I had a baby recently and they were amazing through the process with any extra last minute changes we needed. They also sent a beautifully hand written note and sweet little onsie for our little one. I am not a "easily trusting person" so to hand over my house keys to a dog walker made me nervous. Going through a company with liability and vetted walkers put me at ease. Everyday I get a hand written note with the time walked and amount of potties that our GSD accomplished. Our walker has even brought in endless Amazon packages for us through the year. She also always wipes off his feet with a towel (that we provide) on rainy days. It's obvious that our walker is respectful of our home bc we never find muddy footprints or things out of place and she always notes if she had to do something out of the ordinary (place a muddy towel on top of the washing machine - for example). Overall I would just say that I will never use another dog walker and I hope you don't either. I was very comfortable with the meeting/consultation with Dakota, when she came to visit us a few months ago and decided to sign up with them. SO FAR SO GOOD... The #1 thing that I am pleased with is, the COMMUNICATION. You get a hand written note AND email sent after every visit to your pet. I'm a flight attendant and sometimes away for 3-4 days... I somedays AWAIT that message, knowing my babies were fed and cared for. Lastly, my pets are very finicky. They do not love just anyone and shy away from strangers, very quickly. I've made it a point in requesting the same pet sitter (Sarah) over and over, whenever possible because i know my pets and once they get used to a familiar face, they will come around, However, if a new sitter was constantly coming, they are shy and hide. I love receiving daily photos of my pup along with detailed reports on how she is doing....even if it's just a walk they let you know how many pees, poos, etc. If I have an emergency arise at work they are quick to respond and let me know if they can add a walk that day.
