If you have one dog! They are really good walking him. Two . . . . they have some challenges with dogs , 3 don't even try . I have 3 pups . The bark bark crew (dog-walkers) don't have the experience . I never put attention to them till , 2 of my neighbors told that one of the dog-walker was dragging my yorkie across the broadway ave . We ( my spouse and I sent emails complaining about it . They never responded . So I estate putting more attention on the walks with them . I started sending email mostly winter time , just to let them how to walk them, specially 3 pups . Left treats to make them easy to walk them . I did add a video cámara. Not to spy on them , but you never know . The same guy that was dragging my yorkie outside . He did it inside my condo to go out. I was mad again I requested to dismiss him. I was heard . The person stop coming in. But the new people with not experience of walking multiple dogs . Did not walk them . So they cancelled my walks because I was complying to much about that . We use them for dog walking and it's wonderful. My dog loves their walkers. But the front desk staff is not always friendly. I've seen them drag dogs to the back and also while shopping overheard them talking poorly about customers and their dogs. If we had other options and cute stores like that in our neighborhood we'd definitely switch. Also the groomers do not have afternoon hours. read more

Brought my cat for his first professional grooming service here earlier this week and needless to say he was spotless! With him being a DLH cat and a cat who goes hiking with us, we want to make sure we keep up with keeping him nice and clean and comfortable for the years to come. I can tell he was in good hands since he was as calm as he usually is when I picked him up and he was extra soft and shiny ! 10/10 kitty grooming service! I should add that to reduce kitty anxiety they only groom one cat a day and don't blow dry them to not stress them out which was good peace of mind! Last night, I had to take myself to the emergency room around 9 o'clock at night and we have been to bark Park club before and my dog loves it, but I also know the hours. They are always there 24/7,but they have specific drop off and pick up times. They made an exception for me and my condition. Over the past 1.5 years my dog has been groomed here about 6 times and went to daycare twice. I stopped bringing her to daycare here because there was clearly an incident with a larger dog. She went in one day best friends with the big dogs on our street and left being terrified of them. If you plan on grooming your dog here be prepared to have them here for FIVE OR MORE HOURS sitting in a kennel. Three groomings ago I told them this was not okay- my dog is nervous and can't be in this environment all day. The last time we were here she was here they tried to switch out the groomers when she is only comfortable with one women and if I hadn't caught it they would have happily let her be traumatized and assured me it would never happen again. Unfortunately, because we're about to move I needed to get her in for one more grooming and by hour five I called only to be told she hadn't been groomed yet. She was bathed at TEN AM and was sitting in a kennel until 345. They speed cut her terribly and I'll have to trim her myself and I didn't pick her up until 430. NEVER AGAIN. read more

If you have a golden doodle, specifically an "f1b", you probably shouldn't get your dog groomed there like we did. It was a disaster. A horror show. An OMG I can't believe you did this to my dog reaction. We told the groomer NOT to do a poodle cut. (I mean why would anyone ever give even a poodle a ridiculous poodle cut?) We asked for a "teddy bear" cut. Now our pretty, playful, lovable pup is a shorn sheep with a half bushy tail. Yup, the top tail part is shaved and the end half is long and bushy. We asked the groomer to leave the face round and now our cute canine has a rectangular poodle mouth/nose. So please beware- the groomers at Bark Bark Club either do not listen to what the customer wants or they do listen and don't care or they aren't capable of doing a teddy bear cut on a doodle. My DOODLE was POODLED and I am super mad and very disappointed. We actually paid $100 + a tip to ruin our beautiful dog's cuteness and playful personality. Don't risk it. When we moved into Edgewater/Andersonville Bark Bark was highly recommended because of their open boarding and they did not disappoint! Our dog loved going there so much even when we moved to Irving Park we would still take her over to Bark Bark because of their service and attention to detail. Incredible groomers that would even paint her nails depending on the holiday. One time she came home with candy corn nails for Halloween! We also used their training courses as we rescued a 6 month old puppy and it was a lifesaver at home. read more

Wish I could give them 0 stars. A former neighbor moved to a care facility with her dog. The neighbor had used Bark Bark for prob 10 yrs for grooming and dog walking. Given the new living situation my neighbor couldn't take her dog in for grooming so I offered to help. I scheduled the appt. Confirmed the day before. Called twice the morning of to say I would be a little late bc I drove an hr to get the dog and an hr to bark bark in morning traffic. When I arrived I was told there was a mix up w the appt and they couldn't take the dog who clearly was in desperate need of grooming. No effort was made to accommodate us. They really couldn't care less! I called the groomer I use for my dog, Cheri @ Krisers on Belmont. Cheri is always booked wks in advanced but she could hear the desperation in my voice and told me to just come and and she'd work the dog into her schedule. That's a true animal lover! This place is actually pretty great. But read through the end! When my husband and I checked out their facility, it was spacious and clean. The people were really nice and warm. They actually helped us out a lot whenever we had last-minute needs. For example, it was more than 6 months since our dog attended daycare and we needed to put her in daycare last minute because our building was going to do a fire alarm test and we didn't want her home by herself. We called them with only a day notice and the lady helped me out by letting me email the latest visit and shots to make sure she can join daycare. We were able to coordinate the key situation since it's also the first time they will be doing pick-up and drop-off. They also updated us during the day with a picture of her. We fell in love with the face. Ever since then we bought their package which I thought was reasonably priced and our dog loved going in and out of their truck! Sometimes it was hard to know the schedule they will be picking her up and dropping her off, which we let pass because we understood some days our busier than others. We also let it pass that after the one time update, they never updated us again how she was doing. We figured it would be difficult to keep track of every dog and send updates (although I know some places do it). I also loved they had $5 daycare on weekends, which helped us a lot and we kept recommending it to every dog owner we saw on the street! So, why the 1 star after all that? My dog came home one day with a cough. It was the first time she got sick. She stopped eating, coughed anytime she got up, was vomiting and gagging nonstop. We thought she ate something funny but it turns out she got the kennel cough after taking her to the vet. Our dog was MISERABLE for weeks! Her whole schedule was thrown off and it broke our hearts. As good dog parents, we decided to keep her home from daycare until she gets better AND we wanted to inform them in case other dogs starts showing symptoms. So, much to my surprise, the lady I spoke with said, "Oh, thanks for letting us know.. Yah, we had an outbreak last week." WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK! They knew kennel cough was going around the dogs in their care and didn't tell us?!? So, now my dog suffered! This is why. No matter how great everything was, I will NOT put my dog's health and life in danger by bringing them here. Thankfully, my dog's condition didn't get worse. Be warned. read more

I have a beautiful five month old whoodle that HAD a gorgeous coat. I took her in for a full grooming and was very specific before I left that I did not want my dog shaved. One of the reasons I bought this dog is because of its beautiful long hair. I told them that and they told me that they would just cut off the puppy coat that was darker than the rest of the coat. They also told me she wasn't matted and so there would be no problem with just a nice trim. I was mostly interested in the grooming more so than any sort of cut. I made them very aware that I did not want her hair cut. When my husband picked her up this evening and brought her home, I barely recognized her. She doesn't even look like the dog I brought in this morning and I am so upset because I know there's nothing I can do about it. Of course, I realize this is not a a life or death issue as her hair will grow back, but the fact that they didn't listen to what I requested is upsetting. It was very expensive as well. I will not be going back there. It's too bad because it's a neighborhood spot for me and I love to support our neighborhood businesses. The only reason I'm even writing this review is to make you aware that you must be more than clear with them about your expectations. I feel like even if she was matted, they should have called to let me know that they were going to take away all of her beautiful hair. The reason I'm giving a two star review is that the people were all lovely and the shop is clearly a neighborhood Favorite. Maybe I just had a groomer who was new and didn't understand what I requested I won't be there to let it happen again. read more

We just love this place for daycare and to board our pups. We have an 11lb dog and a 50lb dog and both absolutely love coming here. The tell tale positive sign was the 3rd time we dropped them off, our 11lb dog, who normally acts sad when we would drop her off at the place she went to for over a year, acted excited to be there. She didn't even notice us leaving. They are also happy & very tired when we pick them up, so we know how they must've had fun playing all day. The place doesn't smell bad like a lot of the other places we toured before deciding to go with this one. The people who work here are very nice and normal. FYI- They do offer specials a couple of times per year where you can stock up on boarding & daycare at a discount. There are also specials for daycare if you buy in bulk. It truly pains me to write this review but I feel that it is important that share our experience with others. I am a cat owner - my boyfriend and I own two furry feline friends and we found Bark Bark about 6 years ago and fell instantly in love with them. Whenever we went out of town, we would come home to clean litter, full food bowls, and happy kitties. Our pet sitters would often leave us detailed notes about the adventures they had with the animals and it made us feel like they were in good hands while we were way. About a year ago, things started to change. We started to notice little things, like the absence of a note, or perhaps the food bowl wasn't as full as perhaps it should have been. We shrugged it off as no big deal because they seemed to be isolated incidents. This past weekend, however, we went out of town for about four days and we requested a pet sitter to come to check on the cats. When we got home late Monday evening, we discovered the water dishes were bone dry, the litter hadn't been scooped since Friday morning when we left, the toys hadn't been touched, and the food dishes were almost empty. In fact, the only way we knew for certain that our sitter even came was that their tip and check for service was gone. I cannot tell you how disappointed we are. While Jack, the owner, was very kind when we called to offer our feedback, we cannot, in good faith trust these folks to come into our home and check on our cats while we are gone. As a non-dog owner, I cannot attest to their dog sitting services, but if you own a cat, I highly recommend you go elsewhere for your services. read more

Such great, trustworthy dog walkers! I have a petcube that records my pup when I'm gone. Whenever the walker comes they spend time giving him snuggles before they take him to the rooftop dog run and they spend a good amount of time with him! If he has accidents they clean it up which in my opinion is above and beyond! AMAZING EXPERIENCE! I explained to the ladies there that I have had some bad grooming experiences. They took both my dog Oreo and I in and asked a lot of questions to figure out what was best for him. I had a picture of what I would like him to look like and they made him look exactly like the picture. Due to the bad experiences I've had I will admit I was still very nervous when I left but they sent me a video of my Oreo playing with the other dogs and enjoying his time there. This reassured me that he was doing great and even forgot all about me haha. This will be our new grooming spot from now on. Amazing customer service! I dropped my dog off for overnight boarding, and was told by the owner that 6:30PM the following day is the last pickup. I went to pick her up around 2 the next afternoon and was told that the price would be $15 extra due to the "late" pickup. I repeated what I was told by the owner the day before and was told by a blonde, pudgy very short-haired woman behind the counter the following, "it's like a hotel. If you don't leave by a certain time, we charge extra". I stated that I understood, but adding that hotels explicitly state the additional fees, unlike this place. After some back and forth, she agreed to waive the additional $15, mumbling that she would be putting a note in my dogs profile documenting the exchange -- as if to safeguard against a scam I planned to run again in the future. While completing my transaction, she then shot me a dirty look and asked in a unnecessarily condescending tone if was ok? And that I "seem to be in a bad mood." Failing to see how my personal well-being was any of her concern or had anything to do with picking up my dog, I simply said yes and asked whether she was ok back. If you want to be spoken to rudely by a staff with loose pricing policies, by all means, bring your business here! They also do not offer visibility into what your dogs are doing; while most other boarding facilities offer webcam viewings. I will not be back to this shady place. read more

I am so disappointed in Bark Bark. I've been taking one of my dogs there for grooming for years and thought it would be great to also use them for daycare for my other dog. It wasn't. They gave her TEN MINUTES before deciding she was too panic-stricken to stay. TEN. MINUTES. Unfortunately, I won't be returning for grooming or daycare. What a shame. This is a dog who LIVES for running in the beach or at a dog park with other dogs, but within minutes Bark Bark determined her unsuitable for doing just that in their facility. read more

I got a tip that Amber was the person to see about doodle grooming, what a great recommendation! She took great care of Maddie, our 9 month old Bernedoodle. Maddie got a summer cut and her hair was blended extremely well! I mentioned that we anticipate a very active and outdoorsy summer, Amber suggested that we shave in-between the webs and she took the paw hair down tight to a cat cut. I'm very pleased with the cut!!
