I used Out U Go for two solid months of daily walks with my 'girls' recently and couldn't have been happier! The entire process from the familiarization virtual meet through the daily communications on each walk was easy and comforting. Lindsay really took the time to get to know me, the dogs' routines and preferences, my preferences, and everything in between. Jessica was our walker most visits and very clearly took excellent care of Beatrice and Violet. I looked forward to the daily updates that were not only thorough but thoughtfully wonderful each time. She was so considerate of being in our home which you'd never know anyone had even been in if she hadn't left the detailed notes about after visiting. She even brought in packages several times! Over the past 6 months, I have used Out-u-Go South Loop services for my cat twice while out of town for several days. Both times I scheduled for a once daily 45 minute visit. Both times problems arose. On one trip, one of the sitters gave him double doses of his two prescribed meds which were to be given only once daily. On the other trip, two of the cat sitters did not fill the cat mate feeder for his evening meal resulting in missed meals. Both of these incidents occurred despite detailed and available instructions both with the service and on my kitchen counter. Additionally, went thru an appointment with one of the sitting service staff reviewing the instructions, etc. and received assurances by the supervisory staff that the instructions are also reviewed thoroughly with the sitters who come to visit. I would have given one star but a couple of the sitters (multiple ones btw) did a decent job. Fortunately, my cat is ok. read more

Vacation for a week with a 12 year old kitty who lost his companion in May. Normally he was fine at home with his pal but this was the first time he would be alone at length and in a new condo as well. I didn't want to take him to a boarding facility (which could confuse / scare him at his age) so after seeing Out U Go's rave reviews I signed up for a meet and greet. The website was extremely thorough in asking about his mood, medications, where he hangs out, can he receive treats, etc. I was pleased with the level of detail. The group is extremely responsive via email and the sitters leave really cute notes each day. Bonus: they scooped his litter and checked my mail. After reading the really cute reports upon my return I could tell he was in great hands while I was away. I will definitely use Out-U-Go again when I have to leave town. Special shoutout to Paul who was our M-F sitter and left some sweet notes about playing with my kitty while I was away. Much appreciated. I used to be a fan of Out-U-Go, but as the business expanded, the service unfortunately degraded. I came home from a trip where Out-U-Go had been hired to care for my pets. I returned to BONE DRY water bowl and EMPTY food bowl. I was so upset, yet Out-U-Go happily charged my credit card without my authorization for services NOT performed. After this, I ran a test to see how many days it would take to have the food and water bowls get to the point of what I came home to. It was 4.5 days.... I had contracted Out-U-Go for an every-other-day visit throughout my trip. I strongly suggest that if you choose to use this business, leverage a nanny-cam or your buildings security cameras to ensure your pets are receiving the type of care you wish and are paying for. I myself, will NEVER use this service again. I love my pets too much to place them in the hands of these uncaring, unskilled and frankly neglectful people. read more

Lindsay and Lauren are absolutely adored in my household. I have used a number of pet-sitters, and until I found Out-U-Go recently, I thought the separation-anxiety issues were insolvable...I would come home from even short trips to find a listless dog, a manic cat who noticeably had not groomed, and a few well-placed pools of cat urine, generally on my pillows. I now come home to a happy, twirling dog and a cat who can't even be bothered to come greet me, he is so content. (And, I have not had the particular pleasure of cat urine in my hair for some time now). I don't know what kind of magic this is, but I'm happy about it. They have been fantastic for short trips, long trips, daytime walks, and they even accommodated me a couple of times when I had last-minute schedule changes. We have been using OUG for over a year now and we couldn't be happier with the services and the affordability. We have an adorable super energetic Pembroke Welsh Corgi. We absolutely adore our little man Phinneas and we had a lot of issues handing over the leash to someone else. I've been using Out U Go's services for about a year now and think it's about time I wrote a review. It was also interesting to read reviews from others, because the proof is in the pudding. First, I live in the South Loop area & I have 2 large dogs, so I can't speak for other locations or people with smaller dogs, but that's my background. I live in a secure building and they have a few pet rules you have to follow. My schedule is hectic when I have to travel, so sometimes calling the little brother to walk the dogs or having a neighbor help out isn't possible. So Hire Out-U-Go if: - You have a schedule that is constant or sporadic. They're reliable and will at least show up. (If you've tried other services, I've had things taken from my home, folks no-show or just college kids who don't know how to actually handle dogs); that's not Out U Go. You may get a different person from time to time, but they're ALL great. -If you want to know who to hold accountable if things go wrong. Lindsay always meets you and makes sure to understand your pets when trying to match walkers. It's not like pulling out a name with her, she actually reviews schedules, talks to her walkers and understands what they are good at, etc. So you may get some swap outs, but they're always solid. -If you want AYA, move to the South Loop....Aya has walked my dogs on & off for over a year and is a testament to Lindsay knowing how to screen the right people. Thanks again Aya....the notes were great, Houdini & Sophie love you and I appreciate you bringing in the air filter. If you want a dog walking service, there's a few things you have to remember. Not all are created equal. It's never going to be SUPER cheap. People make mistakes and I know our dogs are our babies, so it seems unacceptable...but ahem, there are days when you leave left overs out, or come home late, etc. The dog walkers are people too and they change their days to make sure your pups are ok when you're not there. I moved to Chicago two weeks ago, with my cat joining me a few days later. It didn't occur to me until a few days before leaving for a weekend trip that I'd need to get a pet sitter - so I was extremely relieved to find Out U Go, who were able to make arrangements at the very last minute so that I could go away without worrying. Out-U-Go has been absolutely wonderful for us and our Rottweiler puppy, Thor. When we brought the puppy home, my boyfriend and I were working opposite shifts, so being there for him wasn't an issue. However, a few days after Thor came home, my boyfriend starting working during the day. So here we were, left with the problem of who was going to take care of our brand new pup. Enter Out-U-Go. We live in the Pilsen/Little Village neighborhood (more on the Little Village side) and there are not very many dog walking services that come over here. Out-U-Go was pretty much the only service that would cross Western, and I'm so grateful they did. I spoke with Lindsey, who came for a meet and greet with Thor, and we started services the very next day. I've had two gals (whom I've never actually met) come and walk Thor, and they both always leave little sweet update notes to let me know how Thor was during the day. Thor is always happy and well taken care of when I arrive home from work, and that makes me really happy! Scheduling is SUPER easy (either call or e-mail) and I've never had a problem getting a walker scheduled. Oftentimes, I'll e-mail that we need a walker the morning of, and they always accommodate me. We are so impressed... Knowing that Murphy would not be willing to let a new person into his house while we were out, Lindsay arranged to have Lena (Murph's walker) meet him at the meet & greet. All seemed to go OK... until his first walk. Apparently Murphy hid in his crate and growled at her... I got a call at work that afternoon from Lindsay with the (not surprising) news. She assured me that she had ideas to make Murph comfortable and that they would work through his fear/nervousness. She came with Lena the next day, and told us to leave his favorite treat out... for him that is peanut butter. Apparently it took half a teaspoon of the nutty deliciousness to convince him to let them put his harness/leash on. Since that day, we are getting such wonderful notes from Lena. Today's was: "When we got back in he dragged me down the hallway, went into the kitchen, an sat down. Looked at the PB and said I want! I adore this little dude, plus he was an awesome walker!" I cannot put into words how wonderful Out-u-go has been... they could have quit when he was growling at them from his crate four walks ago, but Lena was committed to winning him over and she has! We've been using Out-U-Go for almost 6 months now, most regularly for our dog but we've also used it for check ins on our cat while we're away. We gave them 5 stars before and we still think they're great! This update is to give special commendations to our regular walker, Chris. Although I've never met Chris, I can tell from his notes that he takes his job seriously and genuinely enjoys the company of dogs. In addition to the standard checklist, he'll let us know if our dog was feeling playful, restless, and how well behaved she was on leash. On a few occasions when the weather has been bad in addition to a walk our dog has gotten indoor playtime. It's great to know that when we can't walk our dog she at least gets to see a familiar face and get attention, affection, and exercise, all of which make her one happy dog. read more

LIFE SAVERS.... LITERALLY! I know that term is thrown around pretty loosely, but Lindsay and her meticulously hand picked team (with a special shout out to Nate!) are literally just that... life savers - both human and canine! No one ever imagines as a young person that they will get sick -but it happened. I have two beautiful, BIG dogs that mean more than anything in the world to me. Making sure they are well cared for is literally as important, okay, if I'm being honest... even more important than my own care. Lindsay is not only able to get my babies to leave my side - which no other dog walker was able to do (one of my girls notoriously peed in the house - at the feet of every past dog walker, so that she didn't have to leave me) But not with Lindsay!! They are soooo excited to start their day with her, feeling secure they are coming back to Mom after a good walk, (always with sunscreen on their noses and plenty of water for their journey) and breakfast served when they get back home - of course only after having their feet cleaned :-) Lindsay even checks on me to make sure I'm okay, and on more than one occasion brought something she notices I need - just to save me a trip out. That's a special human being; clearly going above and beyond the role of dog walker. This simply speaks to Lindsay's character and the heart of the person I entrust to care for my pups. My girls are also somewhat scared of men... but not with Nate!! They LOVE him!! He leaves me detailed notes, and has saved me when in an unexpected bind on more than one occasion. Lindsay of course introduced the girls to Nate before feeling comfortable that THEY would feel comfortable. We love their service! We have 2 large dogs that have a ton of energy, and knowing that someone is going to come a play with them and give them attention is rad, and it's totally reasonably priced. We set the time frame when the walker comes and we have a cute "report card" left in our house when we get home so we know how they did/what they did. Before moving to Chicago from suburban southwest Ohio, I had never used a dog-walking service because I never had a need for one. I could simply run home from work during lunch to check on my Corgi, Phinneas, and make sure he had water and a bathroom break, and I arrived home from work about 5 minutes after I left my office. I was very hesitant to hire a stranger to come into my home while I was away, but the moment I met Lindsay, all of my apprehension went away. She came to our home for a "meet and greet" with Phinneas, and he immediately loved her. She took detailed notes, not just about his needs for his daily midday walks (location of treats, leash, poop bags, bowls, etc.) but also any additional needs he might have for using their service when we went out of town. Lots of my neighbors in University use OUG as well, so I've gotten the chance to meet his most regular walker, Katie, who leaves the best notes for us to read when we get home from work. I know Phinneas loves her, and I feel so much less guilty leaving for work in the morning knowing that he has a friend coming by to keep him company. Some other highlights: They are SUPER flexible. On days when I'm working from home or coming home early, it's so easy to cancel a visit on pretty short notice. And when we left him in their care while out of town for a long weekend, I left a note letting his sitters know I wouldn't hate getting some pictures texted or emailed to me. So far, we're very happy with Out-U-Go. I purchased the Yelp deal at $29 for $70 of services. We were going to Wisconsin to ski all day and needed a walker for our pup. Getting set up as a client of OUG was very easy-- Alison, the office manager for South Loop got in touch right away and provided great detail on costs and services via email and by phone. We set up a meet-and-greet a couple days later, when she provided me with a folder of all the info I would need. Super helpful! After our pup was walked on Saturday afternoon, our walker, Rachel, left a report card about how it went AND we received a follow up email from Alison. A couple days later, one of our neighbors told us she recognized our walker and also sang OUG's praises. We will definitely be using them again for future walks! read more

In January 2019, I had two out of town trips. When my flight home was canceled, I was in a panic. I used the on-call email to ask for additional visits for my cats. They called me right away and I was so thankful that my cats would be ok. I just returned from another trip and missed the polar vortex - I appreciated them working with me to ensure my kitties were taken care of and that we could work out a schedule that didn't jeopardize the safety of the cat sitter. I do not typically write reviews, but after this weekend, I am absolutely compelled to! OUG literally saved my dogs lives and my apartment. My sitter from Rover was absolutely horrifying (please people be cautious). She wasn't taking care of the dogs - spent only 1 hour out of 24 hours with them tops on a Saturday. I put in a last minute request for a weekend walk and walks/meals on Sunday, Lindsay called me and she assured me that they would be taken care of. And they absolutely were, per usual! The notes from the walkers were fantastic and so courteous. I have used OUG for 2.5 years now. They walk both of my dogs at least 3x a times a week and I do not have a complaint, which is quite an accomplishment! Kudos to such an amazing staff! LOVE Out-U-Go! Can't believe I haven't reviewed them yet actually. I was referred to them by a good friend who has been using them for 3-4 years. I recently moved back to the South Loop and was nervous about having someone I didn't know come into my home every day. I called Out-U-Go and the owner Lindsay came by for the initial meeting. She was great and made me feel really comfortable with the process. Because I do a regular M-F schedule I tend to get the same walker every day which is nice. I've been using them for 5 months and only have good things to say. I've forgotten to cancel them before and been WFH a time or two and they've come so I've gotten to meet some of the walkers which is actually really nice. My dog was absolutely in love with her walker - glad I got to see them interact. They're super flexible with timing. They really care about your pup too. One day my poor little one got sick while I was home. They immediately called and cleaned up the mess. I was so thankful that they took care of her and made sure there was no mess for her to get dirty in. They truly care about your pet. I highly recommend them!! read more

I cannot say enough positive things about Lindsay and her team! As any dog owner knows, it is a HUGE relief to have someone you can trust to stay with your pet while you are away from home. And, Lindsay is VERY flexible and accomodating with last minute requests and visits as I often surprise her with! We have a 10 year old yellow lab named Farley...any time we left town or had to travel for work, we would rely on family or friends to let him out, stay at the house, etc., and it became increasingly difficult to coordinate that... I would definitely not describe us as over-protective parents - I got Farley in college and he lived in my fraternity house with me and loves people...But, he is part of our family and we love him and of course, worry about him while we are away from the house for an extended period of time. My wife and I had talked for a while about finding a dog sitter to come visit Farley during the day or stay with him while we are out of town. We did plenty of research online, talked to a few different companies that offer this service, and Out-U-Go was an absolute no brainer! From the first meeting, you could see how passionate Lindsay is about her business and how she makes sure that everyone on her team genuinely loves and cares about her clients (the animals, of course!). And, our house sitter Sarah, is awesome! She gives Farley plenty of love and attention when she is here. We absolutely trust her with Farley and know that he is well taken care of while we are away from home. Farley is a big dog and can be a lot to handle (attention hog), but she does a great job with him and can tell he is happy just by the way he acts when we get home. Sarah is great! We will absolutely use Out-U-Go for as long as we have dogs in our family. I contacted OUG on very short notice needing my first walk the next day. Lindsay was so accommodating and friendly. She worked around my schedule and came to meet me and Rudi, my dog, early in the morning before I went to work. She was thorough in the questions she asked (which is great because my dog has bad allergies) and I could tell she genuinely enjoys taking care of animals. She sent me an email and left notes for when I got home, which was really appreciated. When I got home he was calm and I could tell he got a good amount of exercise but not too much.
