Prior to our trip, someone came out to meet us and Iris (our 1-year old tabby) and to take notes on her care needs- they even noted descriptions of her favorite toys. Each time a cat sitter came to hang out with Iris, they would scan in using a magnet on our fridge, write a large paragraph summary of the visit and snapped about 10-12 photos of Iris for us. Ray is always on time and professional, and I can tell our puppy loves him. Each walk also includes 3 pictures, so I can see him having fun exploring, playing, or having his mid-day snack. I've been using Majestic Paws for almost two months now and I have to say that I love working with them for several reasons. The 1st reason is that when I met with Nancy the owner for the initial house visit she seemed to be very interested in making sure that she matched me with the right walker. I like the fact that she was more interested in finding the right match than in just picking up another customer. She matched me with Celeste who has been an excellent fit and who I can tell really cares about my pets. The next reason is that they GPS track all of their walks and send me an email letting me know when the walk starts and when the walk ends. This takes a load off my mind because if I'm out of town I don't have to worry if someone has been by to take care of the pets. I get emails telling me when they came by and when they leave with written updates and pictures. I love getting those updates. I also like the fact that they background check their employees and it seems that they don't have a high amount of employee turnover which is very critical to consider when giving someone a key to your home. Also, Majestic Pets is VERY easy to work with. I haven't had any problems so far with scheduling with them (and I travel a lot). They've also been very good with handling last minute emergencies like the time I got held over for an extra night due to flight delays. Their billing and payment is seamless and I like this. They bill me like clockwork and automatically run my credit card for my balance at that time. Their website interface is easy to use and they make it really easy for me to do business with them. Lastly, I know my pets are very well cared for. When I come home they are happy and content. They like Celeste and they obviously feel comfortable with her as I don't get many reports of misbehavior or accidents. I've used different Dog Walking services across the country and this one definitely is at the top of the list in terms of overall service. We have been using Majestic Paws for a couple of years to look after our two cats when we are out of town, and were previously very happy with them. There is a pet check service that emails us when the pet sitter arrives and leaves, and they usually send a note a pictures of the pets. However, we started to notice that they didn't show up at the time that we had scheduled them for, and a couple of instances where we arrived home hours after they were scheduled to feed our cats, only to find that they still hadn't shown up yet. When they did eventually show up, to find they weren't needed, we were still charged for the visit. (You are unable to cancel an appointment day of on the website) We spoke to the owner about the most recent instance of this, partially to get a refund, but also to understand why there is such a difference between the time the we scheduled and the time the pet sitter arrived. One thing we learned was that the schedule times are for dogs only. This is not something that is at all clear on the website. Instead, cats are grouped into either morning or night. So if you have a cat, do not expect the sitter to arrive in anything under two hours of when you have scheduled the appointment on their website. Their website needs a lot more transparency when it comes to the nuances of their scheduling. Additionally, while the pet check feature is used to let owners know when the sitter has arrived and left, this is not what Majestic Paws uses to guarantee that their employees are where they are scheduled to be. The pet check is considered to be used for the "peace of mind" of the owner. But the sitter simply has to text back to the office to report that the visit is complete. Which is how we were able to be charged for visits that never took place when the sitter arrived after we had already come home. None of these things are made clear, so I want to make sure other pet owners are aware of this, as it has been very upsetting for us to come home and find our cats desperate for both attention and food on a few occasions. Edit on 11/25/2017: Based on the unapologetic response we have gotten from the business owner, I have decided to decrease the rating to two-stars. In fact, the situation mentioned above was not an isolated event, but happened at least two time earlier. I can only specify the most recent time before yesterday being on June 23, 2017, as I did not save the earliest text message exchange. Both those times, we decided to believe that they were isolated events related that caused the pet sitter to be late and did not push back. However, this final time was when we decided to ask for an explanation, which was when we learned about the scheduling limitations for cats. We were NOT made aware of this when we first became customers, otherwise we would never have scheduled cat visits on the days that we were planning to return. In conclusion, we will be finding a different pet sitter with more transparent policies and consistent communication (and who do not move area rugs to cover hairball messes, instead of cleaning them up). And we have also informed our friends and fellow cat owners, who we had originally recommended Majestic Paws to, about these policies. They were as surprised as we were, having not heard of this previously, but have also complained that their cat visits were also never on time. read more

I have never had a better experience with a dog walking company! My fiancé and I have used 3 other dog walking services in Chicago and each disappointed us for different reasons. The main issue we ran into was that we would be paying for a certain amount of time for our dogs to be walked and it was always 5-10 minutes shorter than the promised time. Secondly, our most recent experience was rather unsettling as both of my dogs ran to me when the dog walker came which they NEVER do! They always greet strangers/friends/family with happy tails and jumps. My cleaning person even told me that the dogs ran towards her when the walker came. Very unsettling as a pet owner when we are away from home. Anyways, my sister in law and her husband recommended Majestic Paws to us and I could not be more pleased. They are above and beyond amazing. Not only is every single walk the length that it is meant to be, but we get updated pics of our pups and a note each day. Our specific walker Ashley is nothing short of amazing. The pups run towards her and you can tell she genuinely cares for them. I will absolutely be using them when we travel and am very confident that whoever they have stay at our house will treat our dogs the way they should be treated.
