I have been coming to this facility for a little under a year and I have had nothing but amazing service. This past time that I boarded my dog a minor incident happened where she had an allergic reaction while playing outside this caused on of her eyes to become extremely irritated and red. I was out of town and had nobody to come get her but the DoGone Fun team took SUCH good care of my baby. Vida the owner personally texted me when she was notified of what happened to my dog and from there she took my dog to the vet and was with her every step of the way until I was able to come and get her. On top of that Vida and I spoke when I came to get my dog and she made sure to take great care of me and reassured me on why I bring my dog there. I wouldn't rate the new ownership as terrible. There were some mishaps in the changeover which required new paperwork. Which the outgoing desk person asked me to complete when I picked up my pet. However the old front desk staff stated they were remaining. Which I was comfortable with, but, such wasn't the case and it caught the new owner totally off guard when the old front desk mgr didn't show up and the system was down, no records for the pets, etc. previous I'll try them again. read more

I was there today for a bath and grooming and I was pleased the job. They had my paperwork from my last visit. I gave them four stars instead of five because I wasn't wild about the payment system. A service charge is added whether you pay with a debit or credit card and they don't take cash or checks. I should ask them next time if they would think of taking Venmo or Zelle which maybe could avoid the service charge.... read more

Wow! I was really impressed by every aspect of this place. We brought our Westies there for nail grinding and they were greeting with warmth and friendliness, responded really well for a new environment where everything seemed calm and welcoming. The desk staff was great and I just felt very much at home and confident. The appointment setting is easy and phone and email contacts work like a charm. We dropped our dog off here for the 3rd time in about 6 months here. she is now 11months. we have spent a little over 500 here is boarding costs to date. First time cameras were down. never saw her on camera during travels. second time, just a lot of dogs. third time over this past christmas-- we received a call from our vet that her paw was severely injured and she needed to be sedated immediately to remove the nail. we never received a call from the Dogone Fun. the vet told us DoGone Fun had called them to bring her in at 9am. they dropped her off around 330, the earliest time the vet could see her and we were not contacted until they needed our verbal ok to sedate her. the vet contacted us. not DoGone Fun. in addition to not being able to walk, she was put on pain meds and antibiotics. we returned home early from our road trip and picked her up from the vet after I spoke with the owner, beverly, and she had no answers, couldn't explain what happened, and just had nothing to say, I had no choice but to rush to pick her up myself because I no longer trusted our dog there with no one knowing what happened and not being contacted ever by them to report the incident. since then, the only thing I received from the owner/facility is an invoice after we were being billed separately by the vet as well. which we won't be paying for obvious reasons. it is so hard to find a safe and enjoyable place for our furry friends while away and as much as I was hoping we would find a location near our home in the south loop, this is not the place. and beware, the owner will play dumb in review responses, blame employees that no longer work there or pretend that customers never have had appointments or are leaving reviews from fake accounts. it's a game they play. pics attached. read more

I want to like this dog daycare more. It is conveniently located, the staff is friendly, and Otis seems to like it just fine. They have convenient hours and a decent play to rest schedule. My lower rating is because it is more on the expensive side, but I am not sure why. I called 8 times today (once because I wanted to ask about the cameras not being on, and then again because I was curious how many times I would have to call to speak to somebody.) Nobody ever picked up. When I mentioned the cameras, they said management was working on it, but it would have been good to let clients know by word or just a note on the website. We really like DoGone Fun and use their doggie daycare services about 2x per week in addition to occasional overnight boarding. The staff is so nice and accommodating and care about the wellbeing of their doggie guests. Our chubby Chihuahua is very sassy and temperamental (slow to trust people) but the staff is able to work with her quirks. She's not a social butterfly and is much more inclined to "observe" the action, but I've seen an improvement in her behavior around other dogs and people since she's been coming here for almost a year. I don't hand out 5 stars very often but this place definitely deserves it. I have a 15-year old (Sam) and a 5-year (Bobby) cocker spaniels, both are sweet dogs but they each present their own set of challenges. Both of my dogs have been going to DoGone Fun for almost a year now (mostly for 5+ days at a time) and this place has taken care of both of my dogs as if they were their own. This place has excelled from the screening process, to the facility tour, knowledgeable staff, quality of care (both of my dogs come back relaxed and well exercised) and accurately reporting how my dogs did during their stay. This place also prefers having the dogs running around (aptly supervised) in the play lots as much as possible instead of being locked in the kennels. Unlike other places I've tried, DoGone is always open and honest about what really happened during my dogs' stay - including who got an appropriately given time out for misbehaving. They also have live video streaming of the play areas where you can check on your pets remotely. DoGone Fun also handled the canine influenza virus epidemic EXTREMELY well - giving me a courtesy call to let me know that they do not advise boarding my dogs during the height of the epidemic and sacrificing revenue to protect their clients. DGF definitely showed that they not only provide a service to their client, but they also are a proactive and vigilant community member! And don't forget the grooming services. Shout out to Jackie who has done everything she can to make grooming as comfortable as possible for my 15 year old blind dog. I can't be any happier and proud to support this business. **STAY AWAY** I made a grooming appointment for my dog and I thought I was good to go. Two days before my Saturday appointment I was called and told that my appointment needed to be rescheduled because my dog was not a regular customer. Mind you, my dog previously was boarded by this facility over a year ago regularly. I was told the only option for grooming was was an appointment during the work week, which was less than ideal. Before hanging up, I confirmed why my appointment was being rescheduled and was told again it was because I wasn't a regular customer. Not that the current amount of time was booked incorrectly, they accidentally overbooked me or it was a mistake and the groomer wasn't available. It didn't seem to matter AT ALL that I had an appointment already on the books. I was so angry and knew with it being so close to the holidays it would be very hard to get an appointment somewhere else, so I secured the reschedule that was being offered to me. After thinking about this situation I decided to talk call back and speak with a manager. Upon speaking with the owner Beverly, it was unbelievable to me how unapologetic and unbothered she was. She NEVER apologized and said she was totally fine with my appointment being rescheduled. I eventually ended the call telling her this appears to be in line with her business standards, so there was no need to continue with my feedback. I was clear in saying I would NEVER patronize her business EVER and I would be writing a review and yelp. The only thing she had to say was Okay! I took my mixed breed 72 pound dog here for a bath. Good thing he is still young otherwise he might be dead. As soon as I got home they called and said come get him. I could have waited. He seemed quiet not like himself at all. When I got home he threw up some yellow stuff. Seemed very inactive not like him at all. For the next few days as I walked him he seemed really scared of males walking by even ducking or cowering down. To me he behaved like a dog who had been beat and his stomach was upset for several days after. Strangely when younger children approached he was fine but when men walked by or toward him he almost rolled up in a ball. OMG were my thoughts what did they do to him. I did report this to the owner who denied it happened or couldn't believe it happened. I have never ever left him anywhere poor thing already mis-treated as he is a rescue. Even today I took the small wicker trash can to empty holding it over his head as I returned it he ducked guarding himself from what he thought was an impact coming. When I first started taking my dog here back in 2017, it was a joy for her and for me as the staff were truly experienced, well-trained and friendly. However, in the spate of 2 years, ALL of the staff that were experienced and caring have since left to do their own stints or to work somewhere else. After talking to several of them, I couldn't blame them one bit. Recently, I just started using my trustworthy dog-walker instead. I just didn't see the value in paying $40 a day for daycare for declining quality and standards. Why not pay your staff better and train them better so that they WANT to stay on and be an asset to Dogone Fun instead of just having a turnover like a revolving door? Because of the love I have for my pup, I wanted to give negative stars but it wouldn't be fair because there are some great things about this place: The Pros 1. The owner is very kind. If you have the opportunity to talk to her, she really puts your mind about leaving your pup at ease. (The downfall...she isn't there full time.) 2. All dogs go through an evaluation and spend a day at the facility prior to being approved. During this time, you also get a full tour, including the boarding rooms. This was a huge plus for us because many boarding and day care facilities don't do this. The Cons 1. The staff is nothing like the owner. They make it very clear they are just there for a paycheck. They made me feel like me and my dog were burdening them and wasting their time. 2. When we arrived for our stay, they didn't have our reservation. They also had no idea who we were or whether our dog had gone through his assessment. After about 10 minutes of confusion, the woman behind the desk wrote info on a post-it and told us he'd be fine. This is where we went wrong - we should have left then. 3. We called numerous times requesting our puppy be moved out of the large dog area. While he is 45 pounds, he is a small bulldog and was 12-20" shorter than the other dogs. Often times, we saw him in the back corner of the camera trying to catch a minute to himself only to have a larger dog come jump on him and want to him play. We shouldn't have had to request that more than once...if the staff felt like he wasn't suitable for the other areas, they should have informed us and seen if we could have another play/exercise option. 4. We got a call that our dog was in an accident but "he was alright." We didn't know what it meant and instantly went into panic mode. We heard that a larger dog bit his ear but the vet was closed so they didn't take him in. When we arrived the office lady told us our dog attacked another dog and the dog was retaliating HOWEVER the gentleman who brought our dog to us, said that wasn't the case and instead the dog was trying to take a ball from our dog - one one had an answer. 5. The thing that was most disappointing when we picked up our pup, wasn't his torn ear (which did need stitches but he couldn't get them because of the lapsed time), instead it was the numerous bite marks on his face and neck, he had half a nail broken off, and had a leg wound that was probably 2 or 3 days old - it was infected and there was dried blood down his leg. Our poor guy literally had puncture wounds all around his face. Ultimately, our stay for 3 nights was $250ish and then another $317 for our visit to the vet - which required antibiotics to fight the infection in his leg. You have an amazing space with so much potential. You need a staff that cares...pets are not an extension of family but they ARE family and should be treated that way. read more

Nearly every employee that works with your dog will say that this job is "just a paycheck". Play lots are overcrowded whenever they feel like it and dogs get hurt all the time. TONS of unsanitary conditions present daily, I would not leave my dog to board there or for daycare, although grooming department is amazing. Kennels are not cleaned properly. Many dogs get sick at this facility or need vet care due to poor management. Owner and supervisors lie left and right. "Ain't no fun at DoGone Fun!" I took my 5 month old puppy to DoGone Fun one morning for daycare and received a call at work, within an hour of dropping him off, from one of the staff members telling me that my dog was bitten in the face by another dog and could possibly need stitches! I left work as soon as I got the call to meet a member of their staff at the vet with my dog to find my dog with a cone around his head and a nasty bite on the side of his face. When I asked her what happened she started by saying my dog initiated it by barking at the other dog. HUH?! Sooo dogs can't bark at each other? And if my dog was barking at the other dog why wouldn't you separate them before anything escalated? To top it off, I eventually found out (after talking to the owner) that the dog that bit my puppy was a 6 year old dog! Why would they place a 5 month old puppy to play with a 6 year old dog?! According to them they place the dogs together based on activity level, well clearly the activity level of these two was NOT a match. Of course DoGone Fun refused to pay or help with any medical bills due to the waiver they have you sign releasing all liability. However, when there is negligence on the end of the facility that waiver can be thrown out. They also refuse to provide me with any information so that I can file a dog bite police report. So it will not go on the record of this other dog biting another dog. As far as I know, the owners of the other dog may not even know what happened. I also received a lecture about how my puppy probably had behavior issues because he was taken from his mother too early (I adopted him when he was 4 months) and a bunch of other crap. But remind you, he passed their temperament test. Wonder how thorough that is if another dog there bites. Anyway, I am consulting an attorney about this issue and will continue to "bite back" for my dog in whatever way I can. If all else fails, I have a voice and will let anyone who will listen know about my experience with DoGone Fun. I've actually spoken to a few neighbors who have also had bad experiences here. I can only imagine how many more there are who just didn't take the time to go online to tell their story. The only good thing about this place is one of their trainers, Judit. But I would recommend seeing if she does private in-house training or something because I definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND taking your dog to DoGone Fun for any services. read more

My dog loved to go, unfortunately he wasn't loved once he got there. As other Yelpers have stated, they are very breed-discriminative. My pittie mix has been to daycare at our previous home for over a year without incident and was raised in a home with other dogs and cats and is not dog or people agressive at all. He does play rough at times, however when corrected he backs down immediately. Therefore, the biggest problem I see with Dogone Fun is no9t only the breed discriminatory attitude but also mismanagement of the dogs and possibly poorly trained staff. Perhaps it was my fault, I should have sensed that from day one he was unwanted at Dogone Fun...there were many signs that he was not welcomed on his "report card"...however when I would actually speak to the staffers in the pens with the dogs they had nothing but positive feedback for Frank. I am very sad to write this review of DoGone Fun, as my dog loved going there semi-regularly for over a year. Unfortunately - as you can see from about 10% of the other reviews here - we fell victim to their callous, about-face attitude several months ago, and we have been banned from daycare and boarding since. We noticed, once, early on after a weekend boarding, that our dog (a 40-lb Lab/Boxer mix) came home with clear scratches and marks on her face. The staff didn't mention anything about them, and we (sadly) shrugged it off as dogs being dogs, assuming that staff had handled the situation and things were fine. She clearly still loved going to daycare about once every 2 weeks, so we thought things were good. Then, after another boarding, we started receiving report cards about fence guarding and needing time outs. We always asked what happened, and were given a standard answer of "sometimes dogs just need some time". I asked after several visits if there was anything we needed to do to help our dog - training provided by DoGone Fun? other outside training? more regular daycare? - and was told each time "No, some dogs are just like this. We can handle it." And then one day I received a phone call from the head trainer asking me to pick my dog up as soon as possible, and that we were no longer welcome at DoGone Fun. It was explained to me that my dog and one other dog had gotten into "it" - I was never specifically told what exactly happened - and that my dog was taken into the back room for some time out. When she was brought back into the playlot, the "it" happened again, and that is what apparently got my dog dismissed from the establishment. As further explanation, I was told that "Some dogs just appear to like people better than other dogs" and "Being with other dogs clearly stresses your dog and we don't want to put her in that position again." What?! Again, let me be clear that DoGone Fun told me time and again that my dog's behavior was natural, not a problem, and nothing that she needed training for. And then this - banned from the playlot and boarding with little to no explanation and a warning that perhaps my dog just doesn't get a long with other dogs. I called around to various daycares and trainers, honestly considering that perhaps my dog needed remedial training to help calm her. So we enrolled her in training for "problem" dogs (I'm cringing writing that), and on our first day were told that she was not a problem dog at all. We continued to go to training, just in case, to reinforce skills she'd previously learned, and were told that something must have happened at daycare that spooked her, but that overall her socialization skills and behavior were exemplary. I'm writing this review months after our dismissal, still angry but more baffled how people who are supposed to know dogs could have summarily dismissed mine as having no hope, especially after two altercations with just one dog. I'm still so confused by the whole experience, but feel I have to share it with other Yelpers just to warn you that this could happen to you. Finally, there are several reviews here about breed discrimination, and while my dog has no pit bull in her at all, her head and build can appear pit-like. Perhaps that's part of the reason for the snap judgment that she was beyond training and hope. Who really knows. As I said this was about a year ago, so maybe your procedures have changed but there was no 4 pg review when we were there. I assure that the issue was not a frightened dog but an employee who didn't know how to handle animals. Asia has gone to a few different day cares till we found one that is reasonably priced and provides adequate care but each assessment began with just one or two dogs and then she was introduced to the group. The owners are amazing and friendly, I think they need to train their staff properly. we had a dog walker house sit when we were out of town and it was a nightmare. I won't go into details about it, just make sure you interview the person. I really enjoyed this place for our dog and it pains me to give them two stars, but the house sitting ordeal just put us over the edge. They also increased their day care rates all the time. you would think they would have a grandfather clause for pets that have been there forever. read more

DoGone Fun is a dog owner's dream! My wife and I recently got a new puppy (Pearson). Before Pearson arrived, My wife and I bought a few books and did a ton of online reading about housebreaking, beginner and intermediate training, and other good habits that puppy owners can have. Our thought was that by doing all of our homework, we would never need a resource for training. We were wrong. While Pearson is a very good puppy, he has a ton of puppy energy and no matter how much we played with him and trained him during the day, he still had a ton of puppy energy every night. We contacted DoGone Fun and started personal training with Judit. She is wonderful and Pearson loves her. We have only had a few training sessions, but see a ton of improvement with our pup and look forward to seeing Judit a few times a month for the next year or so! Additionally, we have been bringing Pearson for doggy day care once a week. He has a lot of fun and we love the service. We are very lucky to know DoGone Fun! read more

Like many others, I really dont know where to start about what a phenomenal place this is. Let me just say I have been to quite a few daycares and I am extensively trained in animal care. Dogone Fun is one of the best (if not the best) place for dogs! Their staff is educated on dog behavior upon hire. They truly respect the animals here and take such good care of them. Their mentality for animal welfare is unlike any other boarding facility I have ever known. The dogs are always happy and well cared for. They have a big outdoor play area where the dogs are separated by size and temperament. There are toys and play equipment set up here for the dogs to play on and they love it! They clean these yards and play equipment every day. When the weather is bad, they have huge inside play yards for the dogs! Another great thing about this place is the fact they have webcams. You can always assure your pet is having the time of his/her life! Their animal welfare standards trump any other facility by far. It is nothing but positive. They let the dogs be dogs and know when to step in to keep play from escalating to something bad. The groomer will not over stress any dog. They will take as much time as needed to groom a dog. They dont want grooming or play to become a negative experience for a dog, nor do they want to cause unnecessary stress any dog. If you go to many other places, they have a "they're just a dog" mentality. You will NOT find this with Dogone Fun. They truly and deeply care about the animals in their care. They care about their mental and physical wellbeing. I know they are strict about their rules of requirements of enrollment and pet behavior which is why the place is such a success. This is NOT a bad thing, people. I know it may seem frustrating that you cant get a reservation or grooming appointment because of an expired fecal test or vaccine, but it really is for the safety of your dog and the others. Also, they offer in home pet sitting and dog walking for the dogs who are more comfortable being cared for at home. I have absolutely nothing but positive things to say about DoGone Fun. They care unlike any other and will treat your pets like their own child. (Yes, child, because that's how amazing they really are.) I live too far from the South Loop now, otherwise my dogs would be here every day and I would know they were in the best care possible! Definitely give this place a chance. If you dog has any kind of special needs, stay away from DogGoneFun at all costs. I boarded my 5 year dog who lost her right eye vision 8 months ago, and has glaucoma in the left eye for 4 days. I discussed the eye drop regimen when I checked her in, and they assured me that they can take care of her. I got a phone call 40 hours later from Anna (the manager) stating the dog is no longer welcome there, and although they will keep her until Fri as agreed, they will not give her her eye drops. Anna's explanation for this drastic reaction was that my dog is very anxious, tries to escape anytime someone tries to leave the playground, and she gets aggressive and bit her when Anna gave her eye drops. Now, here are my concerns with this scenario: 1) My dog was at this daycare twice, and was boarded for 2 days once in the last 3 months. There was never any indication of staff difficulty with drops, or aggressive behavior. Before I decided to board her for 4 days, I spoke with both day and night managers to make sure it was appropriate. 2) The manager seems to have a complete lack of understanding of glaucoma. Offering to keep the dog, but not giving her the drops, is putting an animal in danger, since one spike in intraoccular pressure is enough for the dog to loose her vision in her only remaining eye. Also, uncontrolled intraoccular pressure leads to headaches in dogs. It's hard for me to comprehend that someone would think it's OK not to give medications to a dog for 3 days. 3) Not understanding dog's behavior is the next concern. As it turned out Anna was giving the drops, while keeping my dog in her crate. The dog is already feeling trapped, now she has someone forcing the drops on her. Of course she bit her; she had not other option - there was no space for her to escape. I never have any challenges giving her drops (neither do my dog walker, another dog walker who covers for her sometimes, my mom, or dad). And that is because we give her plenty of space (she knows she can run away if she wants to), and use treats, and slow gentle touch to give a blind dog time to adjust and trust. 4) Lack of commitment. In this case the DogGoneFun committed to take care of the dog while boarding her for 4 days, and changed their mind 1 day into it, while leaving the dog in a very unsafe situation, and vulnerable situation. I am sorry, but this is the same as if the owner (or the manager) brought their mom to a nursing home, and I called them a day later saying that she is no longer welcome here, and btw I will not give her her medicine. I believe this would be called neglect, mistreatment, and malpractice. I did ask to speak with the owner when Anna called, but was not given that option. Later the owner told me she was there when I called back, and heard the conversation. So, why did not she step in? I tried to reason with them and explain the danger of not giving dog the drops, and asked to at least give one drop twice a day (my dog is normally on 3 different medications x3/ day). Anna said they will do that. I asked my mom to watch the webcam, as I was concerned about my dog. On Wed, my dog was on the playground for 2.5 hours, and on Thursday for 4.5 hours. I can only assume that she was in a crate for the rest of the time. Well, If the dog is in a crate for 20 or more hours a day, how can she not be anxious, or aggressive! When I took the pup home, her left eye was squinting (a sign of elevated intraoccular pressure), and she had bold spots on her thighs. I took her to the vet the same day, and her pressure was in fact elevated in the left eye, and according to my vet the bold spots were due to her biting and licking herself as a result of stress (literally pulling her hair out). Although, the owner apologized after I expressed my concerns to her in person, I would never trust the DogGoneFun with my dog again. In this particular case, they showed definite lack of commitment, compassion, competence, and professionalism, and placed my dog in danger. read more

My dog absolutely loves this place. She really came alive with the other dogs especially outside and my favorite things are the doggie cam that I can always view online easily to check in on her and the report cards you get at the end of the day to let you know how your dog's day went. It's the most precious thing ever and I'm always impressed with the comments left on the report card. Yes it is a little pricey but other day cares don't have the cameras or report cards. We've been using Dogone Fun for a little over a year, and still use it for the occasional daycare for our younger dog, Evie, even though we moved out of the 'hood. The staff has always been friendly and helpful, and Evie has a blast when she's there. She starts wiggling like a Wiggle Giggle ball when we pull into the parking lot. The best part about a day at Dogone Fun: she is completely wiped out by the time we pick her up, and a sleepy Evie is a good thing. The only bad experience we had was this past summer when I bought a bag of treats, got them home, and opened the bag to find the treats CRAWLING with bugs (skeeve!!!). I went right back and they gave me a refund and apologize profusely. Other than that, we've had nothing but positive experiences with them. read more

I am very happy to update and upgrade. My previous experience here, as indicated in the prior review, was absolutely abysmal. I really had no intention of ever returning. Then I started talking to dog friends in the neighborhood who testified to how much things had changed. Then I got myself in a pickle and needed to board the dogs overnight quickly and took a deep breath and decided to give Dogone Fun another chance. I'm grateful that I did. The owners have completely cleaned house from 2007. New staff, new attitude, substantive additions, like the webcams, etc. I've actually been going back to Dogone Fun since April, but decided to wait to review them again until after multiple visits. Slowly but surely, they have earned all of the stars I've given them. My two terriers have had multiple overnight stays since April. Also, late pickups, early drop-offs and playgroup -- and they love it! Before, my older dog was so traumatized that he couldn't wait to get out of there. He would cry when I'd bring him for playgroup. Now, my dogs pull me down State Street when we're heading to Dogone Fun. They really enjoy it, and that puts my mind at ease. This generation of staffers is incredibly warm and friendly, and knowledgeable. Recently, a guy on the street yelled out my dogs' names and the dogs were so happy to see him. I didn't know who he was and he told me that he worked at Dogone Fun and knew my furbabies! That's the kind of response you want the dogs to have, and the kind of rapport you want the workers to have with your animals. What pushed me over and finally helped me decide that it was time to update and upgrade was my grooming appointment yesterday. My dogs came back to me looking brand, spanking new. So handsome! I don't know what kind of products they use, but their coats have never been softer or shinier, and unlike my horrendous experience at Soggy Paws, Dogone Fun actually listened to and followed my directions for exactly how I wanted the dogs to be groomed. My hat is off to the owners for making all the necessary changes to make Dogone Fun the best experience that it possibly could be for the dogs and the owners. I actually believe it's worth the money I spend for them to be there now, and I'm thinking of getting a package -- which was not even an option before. Very disappointed with the customer service!!! I called to obtain some information bc I will be going away for a week for the holidays in December and need to make arrangements for my dog. Spoke to some guy named Chris and he was very short and seemed aggravated at my questions. I asked if there was someone else that I can speak to and he replied, no I am the only one that can help you. Unreal!!! This is a great South Loop place for dogs! Our pug, Dora, gets her nails done by Dan once a month. He has a gentle way of getting the job done with out scaring our little girl to pieces. We enrolled in the puppy training classes with Laura Monaco and she is fantastic! The training experience was invaluable and Laura is always interested in how our little girl is doing. read more

Psss...I have a very embarrassing secret that I probably shouldn't share with most people. But, I just HAVE to tell fellow Yelpers! After taking my dog, Jackson, to Dogone Fun for a temperament assessment and several short daycare sessions, I was ready to do the unthinkable. I was ready to have total strangers (even though every staff member knew his name by the second time there and each one truly loves dogs) watch my baby for the whole day. Despite my crazy pet parent tendencies, I felt completely comfortable with him staying here for daycare and boarding because of every staff member's upbeat attitude and knowledge of all dogs, the clean and welcoming facility, and the fact that every dog here seemed to be having the time of their lives. So, as for my secret: I teared up (well, maybe shed a few silent tears) after dropping him off at his first daycare session. Separation anxiety much? Not for Jackson! Even though it took him a few sessions to warm up to other dogs (mainly because of his shyer breed), he begs every morning to be taken to DoGone Fun. While entering the parking lot, his tail wags the most I have ever seen (besides when he sees me of cooooourse)! read more

Honestly, I cannot say enough good things about DoGone Fun. I truly love it and appreciate that this great daycare is located so close to my house. I started taking my dog to daycare a few months ago and more recently started boarding him for business trips. I'm a nervous first-time dog momma and my dog shared a little bit of my anxiety around other dogs. I've been hesitant for many years to take him to boarding because I wasn't sure he'd fit in well - I didn't really socialize him enough when he was younger. This year I decided to take him in for an assessment test because I wanted him to get more interaction with other dogs. He was timid, but did well! Since then, he's gone in about twice a week and comes back happy and tail wagging. Why do I love this place so much? - The staff truly cares - They seem genuinely enthusiastic when I drop him off in the morning and seem to really love playing with the dogs. Everyone I've interacted with has been nothing short of really nice + helpful. They always greet my dog and give him extra cuddles (because he loves attention). On a few occasions they have noticed my dog shivering (he's a small chihuahua that gets cold easily) and put a sweater on him so he could warm up and run around with his pals comfortably. This really speaks volumes to me about what kind of place this is. They also put dog's health above making money. When the dog flu was going on DogGone shut down for awhile to help stop the spread and do a really deep clean. Unfortunately, I boarded my dog at another place in Chicago right when the virus spread was being announced. My dog caught it while I was gone and it was a really tough situation to come home to. Although that not-named other boarding place "said" they had procedures in place to stop the spread, I noticed they broke their own rules and transported my sick dog with a bunch of other dogs back to my home. This was also the second time this place gave my dog kennel cough / the dog flu. NEVER AGAIN! That's why I switched to DoGone. - They are accommodating to your schedule - there are some places in the city which force you to book daycare in advance. If you're like me, your schedule can change at the drop of a hat. I'm able to drop him off Monday-Saturday pretty much anytime for as long as needed. They also have a after-hours schedule where you pay $5 an hour for late pick-up. Super convenient as I have business events that go until 7-8pm. They are also are pretty accommodating with last-minute bookings for boarding. Just give them a call and they will try to fit you in! - They have webcams - I haven't heard of too many places that offer this but I truly appreciate being able to tune in every once in awhile to see what my pooch is doing. - They are clean - Every day when I walk home from work I see them power cleaning their outdoor play lots and outdoor gym sets. So in short, I love this place. They love my dog. I'm truly appreciative that I have a business that I trust with my dog. read more

We already posted one review for our dog-walkers, Leah and Carmen (from Dog Gone Fun) a few weeks ago, but I feel compelled to post another one because they are both so awesome. Note: Yelp actually flagged/filtered out this review I guess because they thought it was too positive, and I thought about toning it down a bit but I'm going to try my chances again and re-post it because they are just that amazing. A few specific examples on why we thank our lucky stars each day for having met them: 1. Of late, our puppy has been having loose stools/vomit (vet seems to think it's a bacterial thing), and there have certainly been occasions when he's had an accident in the time that we leave for work and when either Leah or Carmen come in the afternoon for his walk. Now, I never expected either of them to clean up because (a) it's not part of our contract with them and (b) afternoon is a busy time for them and they only have 15 mins for our puppy. But each and every time that he's had an accident, they cleaned, deodorized and sanitized. Just today, Carmen took extra care to stick around and take our dog's e-collar off so he could eat/drink something before leaving for her next appointment, because our pup just got neutered yesterday and he's been having a tough time with the cone on. Truly amazing! 2. Leah has been amazing at communicating with us (through email/texts) about things she notices with our puppy. For instance, when he was going through his diarrhea, she spent a half hour exchanging over 20 texts with me, giving me advice on what diets might works for him, what infections he may have caught (based on her knowledge from spending time with other dogs in the area) and what over-the-counter medication might work (to avoid the vet bills). I honestly don't know how she's able to dedicate as much time to Bailey/us as she does, given that she has a lot of other dogs to care for, but it really is very comforting to know that Bailey isn't just another number in her afternoon queue. And the same goes for Carmen! 3. When I got into the elevator the other day, one of the other ladies asked for my dog-walker info. When I asked how she knew about our dog-walker, she said that she shared the elevator with Leah and Bailey earlier in the day and noticed that Leah was training Bailey to sit in the elevator - apparently, she was very patient and caring. I couldn't ask for more - I was afraid that we'd find a dog-walker who would be absorbed in a phone conversation as he/she walked our puppy, but Leah and Carmen are as far from that as can be. 4. Finally, Leah and Carmen take an active role in training our puppy. Leah has sent us an email explaining loose-leash training, and how she's been practicing it with Bailey. She also asked us to continue that training when we walk him so it would get reinforced. A puppy class will charge you between $100-200 to give you that kind of advice. I hope that paints a picture for you guys - Leah and Carmen really do treat our puppy like he's their own! Could NOT have asked for a better dog-walker. Anyone considering a dog-walker would be remiss for not thinking about Leah, Carmen and the rest of Dog Gone Fun crew. read more

I just recently moved to Chicago from Atlanta and was a little worried about finding a nice doggy day care big enough for my hyper little guy close to my apartment in the city. We decided to walk in and check it out while getting our cars washed next door and fell in love immediately. They were really helpful with us finding a VET close by. The assessment appointment was very professional and FREE! The staff is helpful and friendly. The doggy daycare hours are great. Every now and then I go to the website and check him out on their live streaming web cam. I paid for 3 days up front so I can test this place out. During one of them 3 days, I came to pick up my dog and they were all outside playing...all the little dogs were wearing little jackets ! I was SOLD! I was relieved that the staff understands that these dogs are like family to us so they treat them as such. read more
