This is a startup brand new to the game in the oldest city in America. Must have a great realtor!! The set break stout on nitro is amazing and right on time to help with our rain delay. We got there just before it ripped and nice sept shower. Bryt immediately started conversation with the elderly couple next to us.( typical Bryt move) She got good vibes from the lady and I end up in my happy place; unbothered AirPods in my ears and enjoying my beer without engaging in idle banter. They have a nice big space with wooden tables but everyone is standing around. Talking and drinking; it's loud in here. Great brewery! I've been to many wonderful breweries in hotspot areas (Asheville, NC & San Diego, CA) for example, and Dog Rose is right there with them. Great atmosphere, staff and (lets not kid ourselves) great beer! My girlfriend and I walked over from downtown St Aug and chose to rock a flight of all their beers. We took our time and truly enjoyed each style for what they are. Their efforts at maintaining safety due to COVID is also respectful. We went on a Friday afternoon and was nice and quiet. Went again Saturday evening even before dinner and was just as good. Had a food truck though we did not indulge. Def recommend. Dog Rose Brewing happened because A1A Ale Works is no longer a brewery. This is because when they stopped brewing their former brewmaster of 15 years, Doug Murr, opened his own brewery. Now, without the limitations of what corporate wanted in their beers, the first results of Doug's creativity are available. The entire lineup is solid. I have already developed an infatuation with Palace Pale Ale and Speedball Stout. While mostly staying clear of adjuncts, I can't wait to see what else Doug comes up with when he steps out of his comfort zone. With a distillery a stone's throw away I can only hope that a big bourbon barrel aged imperial stout will eventually show up in the future. From Saint George Street head south and cross over King Street (I recommend taking Aviles Street because it is so pretty). Keep going south to Bridge Street. Make a right and you a very short walk away (or like I do make a quick detour to the left first to see the most photographed door in St. Augustine at 15 Bridge first, then head back to the right) During our weekend stay we made multiple stops here. I finally got to give this place a try last night and was not disappointed. The first thing I noticed is how big the space was! It's an open layout with high ceilings, plenty of tables and seats at the bar, as well as several games like darts and shuffleboard. There were a ton of people there when we arrived around 4:45. I was pleased to see that they were so busy (I love when new, local places get a lot of love) but even still we were able to find three seats at the bar right away. The bartenders were attentive and friendly and got us situated right away with drink orders. I always get a flight when visiting a new brewery. Each five-ounce pour is $1.50 and you can build your own. Right now they have seven beers on tap with the addition of their seasonal ale. I absolutely loved the Speedball Stout, Oatmeal Stout, and Pumpkin Ale. I noticed they had a rack of wine glasses behind the bar, so for those that don't like beer: they've got you covered, too. One of the best parts is its location: we left to go to Night of Lights and only had to walk about two blocks to do so! read more

We stumbled upon Dog Rose Brewing Company after visiting the Lightner Museum in St.Augustine. Just a block away. The brewery was packed and awfully loud. Service was a little slow and their beer list wasnt huge. They offer a wine list for non beer drinkers which I always admire. We tried the poke your eye out IPA, it was bold and hoppy. Hit the notes you want of an IPA. When we were there they were serving chicken wings from a outside vendor, I imagine like other breweries they have a rotating list of food vendors/trucks coming by on any given night. read more

First time here, we heard about this place from the guys over at St. Augustine Distillery. Awesome welcoming atmosphere with plenty to do (multiple shuffleboard tables and darts). The people both regulars and employees were incredibly welcoming with a really laid back vibe. Pretty big place and a bonus to be able to see all of their brewing equipment up close. Beers were solid....high quality flavorful craft beers with a few unique brews thrown in at a very reasonable price point. $5/pint is a steal!
