New favorite Espresso Martini! So happy hubby and I found this little gem on our trip to St. Augustine! Can't wait to go back! Great place to hang and enjoy locally made spirits!

Sailbird Distillery has opened a small bar, that serves drinks and sells their bottles. Stopped by to get a few bottles for friends and myself. Needed more datil pepper vodka and Coffee liquor. Tried 2 drinks while we were there a smoked hot (make with habanero whiskey) old fashioned and a coffee martini. Both were very good.. .

My husband and I stopped in for a quick cocktail for the 2nd day in a row. Yet again we are so lucky for an amazing cocktail, music, and the family atmosphere the moment you walk in the door.

We were here last year, and wanted to come back to check out the new tasting room! Last year Brian was our guide, this year his spouse Susan was in charge. We had a great tasting-and the new space is amazing. They now offer cocktails as well as tasting the different blends. Very awesome!

Oh how I love small businesses! Especially when the owners are right there doing the hard work and selling you on their dream/product. And that's how I felt talking to the owners- like this was a hobby turned dream and they are fulfilling other dreams through this business. Another thing I love is businesses who give back to their community- community is everything! Small but mighty comes to mind. I met the owner/distiller at the garage door of the industrial building and he invited us in for a tour. I had some time restraints, but enjoyed listening to him tell me how he started distilling at home and how it was horrible at first and he slowly turned his chemist knowledge into a business, inspired by watching a moonshiners show to boot! This really did make me chuckle. They opened during a pandemic, ended up making hand sanitizer for a spell and are expanding by adding a tasting room "in town"! Tastings- tiny closet of a tasting room- there were two people already in there finishing up their tasting. My son and I stood back and waited till they were done their purchases and happily stepped up to the bar for tastings. They have rum (naturally), vodka, gin, whiskey & cellos. I liked several of their spirits and bought their whiskey and their lemon-cello. The whiskey was smooth, just my taste. If I didn't have 2 orange cellos at home, I would have bought the orange! And I did enjoy the rums and vodkas. Some bottle purchases give a kickback to local non-profits too. I can't wait until their new tasting room opens! They are still a baby in the business and I am excited to see them grow! Thanks to the Florida Distillery Tour for cluing me in on this budding business!

Each time we've visited we have had wonderful experiences. Everyone is always a joy to interact with. Lexi had a large group during our first visit and then just the two of us the second time. Both times we walked out with our favorite spirits and some new ones. The peanut butter whiskey is always a staple and this one is my favorite. We now have a new addition to our must-have collection, mango datil whiskey. I dont even mix these with anything as they are incredibly smooth. Can you? Sure. But why? The spirits also change out and I'm a little sad that the cookie dough whiskey will become seasonal (that one did mix well with the peanut butter and caramel). But the new key lime pie rum was delicious and the coconut rum is another favorite. Was there anything we didn't like? I am not a fan of the roasted pecan whiskey but I can appreciate why others will enjoy it. In our tasting, Lexi swapped that one out for me so I didn't miss out. The care and joy the team has is palpable and a must stop when visiting the St Augustine area. Big fan and we now stop by multiple times each visit to sample and take home our favorites. Im excited to try the new rye whiskey on a future visit. One thing to keep in mind is that the tasting used to be free and now costs $5. Personally, I don't mind since there is a $5 coupon to use in the store that can be stacked so it becomes essentially free but it's a relatively recent change (the same applies to the nearby St Augustine Distillery and San Sebastian Winery). Do I wish that this one was still free? Of course. Will it stop me from visiting? Nope. It just breaks up my purchases so I can apply the cost each time. (And it's much better than the winery which gives you a plastic cup...nice but not really repeatable.) Overall, City Gate continues to be my favorite Distillery for flavored spirits. Thanks for always providing a great experience and product! And thank you to Lexi for being awesome!

They have fudge, popcorns, brittles & even a variety of chocolate based wine & liqueur. While the delectable scent of fresh chocolate draws you in, the loaded displays around you are sure to keep you there. They've recently undergone some renovations which are finally done & the new store looks great. The floor has really been opened up & they did a great job at utilizing the space. Everything is organized nicely, prices are listed clearly & the store itself is spotless. While it may not be the biggest, it's easy to get carried away here as you look at the deliciousness surrounding you. I haven't personally tried them yet but their hot chocolates definitely caught my eye, they offer a nice handful of varieties. Even the coffee lovers, like myself, are recognized. They have a chocolate-flavored coffee that sounds interesting so I'm thinking about grabbing a bag on my next visit. The chocolate covered espresso beans are also delicious, although I like the milk chocolate ones way more than the dark. Every time I've visited this location the employees are so friendly. They acknowledge you as soon as you enter, they almost always offer help & they're efficient at handling crowds. Customer service goes a long way & they do a great job here. If you're just passing through or staying in St. Augustine then you need to give them a visit. In a world full of mass produced chocolate, it's a breath of fresh air to find a company that cares about serving amazing products. You can even do a factory tour at this location to find out all about their process!

There were about 5 couples all together on the tour. We stopped at three different bars and explored some different areas all within walking distance. The first place was beer only, so my significant other got a free drink since the tour guide bought everyone's first round. The next place we ordered shots and the third place, Stogies, we didn't drink. The first distillery, was very large and you were able to see the machines in the back. The restroom was clean but had minimal waiting space. We only had a few hecklers outside the tour, but we ignored them and made jokes about it since they were pretty wasted. We learned different stories in the area including burial spots. The bars were pretty packed so we did what we could to avoid others and be too close. I happened to catch some orbs in some photos I took which was really cool. Stogies was the most interesting. The guide told us about Annie, who used to own the building. He explained townspeople didn't like her and she was found murdered on her own door step. So she's been called a malevolent spirit. That the bar staff close in pairs and she's injured other staff before. We also took pictures upstairs too. All in all it was a good trip and good price. Only 25 per person. Would definitely do again.

The stops were interesting, especially the wax museum and the old jail. My wife got a bit freaked out at those parts, but nothing was over-the-top scary. If you're looking for something entertaining with a spooky twist--but not too intense--this is definitely worth doing. We're glad we went and would recommend it to anyone visiting St. Augustine!

After our meal, we returned for the tour and spent over an hour riding around the city in a trolley guided by Shamus and Slick, who were fantastic hosts. They were entertaining, knowledgeable, and made the entire experience feel immersive and fun. The tour took us to several fascinating spots, including the Old Jail and Potter's Wax Museum, which was especially exciting because I had already wanted to visit those places. Along the way, we heard eerie ghost stories, learned some local history, and even visited a cemetery, which added to the whole atmosphere of the night. It ended up being such a unique and memorable experience--definitely not what we expected when we walked into what we thought was just a gift shop. It was the perfect, slightly spooky way to end our evening. Highly recommend if you're looking for something fun and different to do!
