Jessica and Tanner Went in for a tasting- $5 for 10 different shots. Jessica was really sweet she was feeding our dog treats and held our purchases until we could pick them up later. Tanner did the tasting- his description of each was spot on. We ended up getting the salted caramel (tastes like butter beer)

SO and I made a quick stop for a bourbon tasting. It's $10 for the bourbon tasting and if you pay an extra $5, then you can top it off with their 1565 rye whiskey. The bourbons were a bit sweet for me, but the 1565 rye whiskey for me stood out. TIP: If you do the $15, you get to keep the shot glass.

We enjoyed our visit today. For the price we thought it was certainly worth it. They provided about 10 different options for tasting. I will say that their flavored options are incredibly sweet so if that's not your thing you might was skip this. Collin was hilarious and definitely kept the vibe and laughter up. His pours were on point and was a pleasure to meet. I didn't like trust they throw away the liquor you don't drink. I was with my partner who is not a big drinker. Instead of sharing, they'd come by and throw away any liquor that wasn't drank. I don't understand the thought process behind this.

Whiskey , rum and moonshine will have you dancing under the lights lol ! This was the best stop of our trip and your next adventure when you head to St.augustine if you can handle good liquor. $5.00 gets you a little buzz, good times and a coupon to purchase once the tour is over. We had rum , moonshine and whiskey and 98% of them were really good. Moonshine : the apple pie was the best ! Whiskey : good toss between salted caramel and maple old fashioned. Rum - definitely the coconut ! They had great specials and have lots of gift ideas. We ended up buying several bottles and planning to come back with our men for a couple date day during the holidays !

Today my mom and I stopped at Citigate spirits off of Saint George Street in Saint Augustine. I did The five dollar tasting which included at 10 tastings of whiskey rum or moonshine. I could not do four of the whiskeys due to my dairy and nut allergies. However Christine was our tasting guide she was superb, kind, and just an overall joy to be around!! Christine was our testing coordinator I guess you would say. I tasted 2 of the Rums the coconut and pineapple, the peach whiskey with my is my absolute favorite and then two of the moonshines the blue raspberry and the sweet tea. For doing the tasting I did get a five dollars off coupon that I could use towards any of the merchandise or any of the bottles of liquor will definitely be stopping by tomorrow. The ambience is a little bit more towards the older inside it is a location in an old building up but it has the charms of a newer building with the tasting and merchandise inside and outside seating as well. 10/10

City Gate Spirits is one of our most favorite places to visit each time we go to St. Aug.! The staff here is amicable, the spirits are pure, the prices of the small-batch spirits are affordable, and the memorabilia is unique! Great place to get out of the scorching heat! The entry fee is now $5 pp.

I haven't been to St. Augustine in over 15 years but I was told I must come here when I visited. It's located in the heart of downtown so it's very easy to find & conveniently located near the other touristy areas. Although I was under the impression they did free tastings, I think that's changed recently because they charged $5 at the door. With that said, it's well worth it & I had a great time trying some of their delicious, locally-crafted spirits. The tasting consists of 10 varieties including different flavored rum, whiskey & moonshine. Count me in! You really can't beat it because the $5 entry fee gets given back to you in the form of a gift card to use in their shop afterward. I also like that they allow you to stack them if someone in your party doesn't use theirs. Everyone working here was incredibly friendly & the bar tender who ran our tasting had a good attitude. The staff were very welcoming & they seemed happy to be there. They kept the crowds moving but it didn't feel we were being rushed to get out of there. I took home a bottle of orange n cream moonshine which I sampled during the tasting. I'll definitely be back again next time I'm around & I highly suggest others to visit if they never have. I hope they have different spirits they rotate during the tasting because I'd love to try something new next time.

$5 tastings for some really good moonshine/whiskey? Count me in! Marissa was amazing and we got to taste some of the best whiskey in town. We've been coming annually to City Gate Spirits and every year gets better. Don't pass up this place!

Three of us went in today for the full spectrum of tastings. Morgan took us through most of the flight and Vera topped it off with the 1565 whiskey. It was a fantastic time. We liked a few of the flavored whiskeys that we didn't expect to and the premium 1565 whiskey was tasty too. A very memorable experience and we highly suggest asking for Morgan and Vera. They were awesome!

Ended up buying a bottle of this. When rum.. I mean Rome‍

Great vibe- if you like flavored booze you can't go wrong We did a free tasting 10 mini shots! It's definitely a good way to start the night. Service was great it was like a little boozey show and tell. Our host Miranda?... was awesome and made it fun and light hearted . Ended up getting a bottle of coconut rum $27 not bad... definitely recommend!

This is a fun little stop in Saint Augustine, here you get to sample a variety of spirit. It was once free to do, but now there is a five dollar charge per person which can go towards a purchase, so, you get it back I highly recommended adding this to your itinerary if you are visiting the historic District of Saint Augustine, the servers are fun and animated and not to mention well-versed in the products they offer. These two in particular were a lot of fun!

City Gate Spirits was me and my sister's last stop before heading back to Jacksonville. Several friends told me about this spot, so I had to check it out. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted and asked for our ID. Christine was our spirits guide (liquid spirits lol). She was fabulous! This was my first time trying the distillery and me and my sister were impressed! We tried 10 small samples. Some of my favorites were the Smoked Maple, Peach and Salted Carmel whiskeys. My least favorite was the Sweet Tea Moonshine. Keep in mind, I'm typically not a whiskey fan, but I'm now a fan of City Gate. If you buy three bottles, the third is half off. My sister bought two, and I purchased the seasonal Limoncello, which we did not sample. But I tried it when I got home and I loved it! They had other deals which I can not remember. But I'm sure if you stop in, they will let you know.

The combination of imaginative cocktails, exceptional food, and a unique atmosphere makes every visit memorable. The cocktail program is outstanding. We enjoy trying a variety of their exotic and inventive drinks, and they never disappoint. The flavors are bold, creative, and unlike anything you'll find at a typical restaurant bar. The Yellow Submarine cocktail is quite possibly the best drink I have ever consumed. Made with curry-infused Bermuda black rum, lime, ginger, and Asian five-spice brown sugar syrup, it sounded unusual on paper but came together beautifully. I enjoyed it so much that I ordered four of them that evening, something I rarely do. That was three years ago, and despite returning several times since then, I have never seen it on the menu again. The food is equally impressive. Two years ago, I ordered the Skillet Roasted New York Strip served with Yukon Gold potato-anna, roasted asparagus and spring onions, watercress, and black truffle hollandaise. To this day, it remains one of the top five restaurant meals I have ever eaten. Every component on the plate was exceptional. The steak was perfectly prepared, the crispy potato galette was irresistible, and the black truffle hollandaise elevated the entire dish to another level. It was the kind of meal that stays with you long after the plate is cleared. I would gladly drive 300 miles just to eat it again. Most recently, I had the wild mushroom bisque, and it was the best soup I have ever consumed. Rich, creamy, buttery, intensely mushroomy, and perfectly balanced, it was everything a mushroom soup should be. The addition of crispy pickled onions and crème fraîche added texture and contrast that made an already outstanding soup even better. My wife and I enjoyed it so much that we returned the very next day hoping to order it again, only to discover it had already rotated off the menu. My only complaint about The Ice Plant is that some of their greatest creations seem to disappear as quickly as they arrive. While I appreciate the constantly evolving menu and understand that seasonal changes are part of what makes the restaurant special, there are certain items that deserve a permanent home. The Yellow Submarine cocktail, the wild mushroom bisque, and the Skillet Roasted New York Strip with black truffle hollandaise are three of the finest things I have experienced there. The fact that I can vividly remember one of these items from three years ago and another from two years ago says everything. Great restaurants serve good food. Truly special restaurants create dishes and drinks that stay with you for years. The Ice Plant has done that for me more than once, and that is why we continue to return whenever we visit St. Augustine.

Antique, rustic, comfortable, and full of enough character that you almost feel like you've stepped 200 years back in time. Then the drinks arrive, and suddenly you realize you've been transported into the future of cocktails. I wish I could remember the name of the drink I ordered because it was spectacular. Whiskey, a little sweetness, mint, and crushed ice. That's about all I can tell you. What I can tell you is that I could have happily consumed about 30 of them, tumbled down the stairs, and been perfectly happy about the whole experience. My wife went with the Mojito, and it was brilliantly constructed. The crushed ice and layered mint made it look almost too good to drink. Almost. The drinks absolutely deserve five stars. Then came the blue crab beignets, and they were spectacular. That's the kind of appetizer that makes you stop talking for a minute because everyone at the table is too busy enjoying what's happening. Unfortunately, the rest of the food didn't quite live up to the cocktails. The fish dip was very average and lacked much flavor, and the menu itself felt pretty limited. So here's the deal: if you're coming to The Ice Plant for drinks, I would have no problem giving it five stars. The cocktails are that good. This is a highly recommended stop for a drink in St. Augustine. But I have to review the entire experience, and the limited menu and average fish dip bring the overall experience down a notch. Four stars. Come for the drinks. Stay for the atmosphere. Definitely order the blue crab beignets. And if you happen to find yourself three cocktails deep, admiring the antique decor while contemplating the stairs, maybe just take your time.

Love visiting this location!…read more I've always made sure to make a stop here when I'm visiting St. Augustine. This last visit was no different! Inside is spacious, clean and what's really interesting is that they have informative areas that showcase the distillation process and other fun facts about the distillery! I enjoy coming for their tasting that they offer. While it use to be free of charge local businesses in the area that also had tastings started charging so that makes sense especially with the amount of visitors they get! Luckily it's only $5 dollars and you get a chance to enjoy a variety of their products. There are employees are different stations that give you information on the spirits and mixers they offer while they craft drinks for you to try. Such as a mule with their vodka, a sweet tasting drink with their crafted rum, another with gin and the final stopping point is an old fashioned! If you end up loving any of the drinks, you're able to purchase a bottle there in their gift shop. They also offer to hold any of your purchases for a later pickup time if you don't want to be holding onto your purchase if you're busy visiting and exploring the city. They also provide different paid experiences involving their whiskey. I have yet to try them out but maybe one day I'll make sure to!

We stopped in unexpectedly, signed in without any trouble, and were done in under a half hour. It helped that it wasn't crowded at all and our group of 5 were the only ones on the tasting tour at the time. You get to taste 4 different cocktails made with their various products. The first two were decent, with the second being a step up from the first. The third was our favorite by far, a tiki rum cocktail that actually had a really nice flavor to it. The fourth and final one was a straight vodka pour from an older woman at the last station. She told us that good vodka shouldn't taste like nail polish, which is a bold thing to say right before handing someone a sample that tasted pretty much exactly like acetone. A couple of us couldn't even finish it. The staff overall were super friendly though, and it was genuinely cool getting to go behind the scenes and see all the big machinery in the distillery. Now the gift shop at the end is a different story. Everything was overpriced, and their clearance section was almost insulting, with maybe $2 knocked off the regular prices. We won't be buying any of their products, but for $5 the tasting itself was a fun little experience worth checking out if you're in the area.

Shout out especially to Jersey, she did nothing but make us feel welcome and a priority with our son. Jersey went out of her way to make sure we were picked up and assisted quickly and kindly. Her attitude is fantastic and our whole family was in love. The dispatcher, Cajun, was another amazing person of assistance. We also encountered Summer as someone who assisted us getting him off a lift and then also was fantastic later on as a driver of ours. Hilary was another great help as she coordinated a shuttle to pick us up at one point to get us to a stop faster.

The trams pass by every 15 minutes, so little time is spent waiting. There is a lot of history in this little town so it is well worth the visit. Our tram guide was very knowledgeable but I was somewhat overwhelmed by her presentation because it was absolutely non-stop. I was wishing she wouldd take a breath now and then. Be aware that there are two persons per seat. You cannot commandeer a whole seat for backpacks etc.

We did the Spirit and Spirits ghost tour Valentine's weekend. It was a lot of fun and our your…read moreguide was very knowledgeable and funny. There were about 5 couples all together on the tour. We stopped at three different bars and explored some different areas all within walking distance. The first place was beer only, so my significant other got a free drink since the tour guide bought everyone's first round. The next place we ordered shots and the third place, Stogies, we didn't drink. The first distillery, was very large and you were able to see the machines in the back. The restroom was clean but had minimal waiting space. We only had a few hecklers outside the tour, but we ignored them and made jokes about it since they were pretty wasted. We learned different stories in the area including burial spots. The bars were pretty packed so we did what we could to avoid others and be too close. I happened to catch some orbs in some photos I took which was really cool. Stogies was the most interesting. The guide told us about Annie, who used to own the building. He explained townspeople didn't like her and she was found murdered on her own door step. So she's been called a malevolent spirit. That the bar staff close in pairs and she's injured other staff before. We also took pictures upstairs too. All in all it was a good trip and good price. Only 25 per person. Would definitely do again.
