Needing a quick salad since my last entry had meat on it. Saw the restaurant name many times but never stopped in. But they had a sweet or garlicky kale salad and price was right. They gave out free sample, I was hooked . Garlicky kale and the chickpea cold salad was a packed takeout container of both. Especially even I'm about to jump on an 16hr flight, have something to nibble on. Service was easy and helpful, lot of soy ingredients in most of their protein dishes, I avoid. But the salad were great. Something vegan Mediterranean, that wasn't bad and has ability to move into more pea plant based proteins for better nutrition value. But the ambience and space usage is brilliantly orchestrated

Great visit! Great service! Amazing options! I visited w a gggf after my Yelp Community manager (Anna) raved about their Garlic Kale Salad. Let's just say... SHE WAS RIGHT!! This place was absolutely delish !! Easy to locate from Charles Street. Plenty of metered street parking. Entrée, side and dessert options galore!! It took my gf and I at least 25 minutes to select, sample and discuss choices. We decided on Peppersteak, Man N' Cheese, General Tso's Cauliflower, Garlic Kale Salad, Cabbage, and Fresh Ginger Lemonade. Everything was so so yum!! I think the gentleman who assisted us name was ... Dre? I hope that's it. He was so patient, kind, and made great recommendations. My gf and I are certainly looking forward to returning back asap!! I have a list of folks to return here w to capture this great vegan experience!!

    Vegan Drummies

Dodah's offers a flavorful take on vegan cuisine, delivering a variety of plant-based alternatives to classic comfort foods. The seasoning and textures of the vegan ribs and drummies were okay. I have ordered them on two different days over the spring break and I could tell that the drummies weren't cooked fresh. The collard greens had a rich, savory taste especially when you add the hot sauce to them. However, the presentation of the meal could use some refinement. The juices from the collard greens spilled over onto the other items, affecting the balance of flavors, saturating the drummies, and overall appeal of the dish. A little more attention to plating and separation would elevate the dining experience. That said, if you're looking for hearty, soulful vegan eats, Dodah's can still deliver...

This is my second time here, walking in, it's quiet and nice to sit and eat in. The service was very nice although the gentleman who helped me had trouble understanding me - do to a language barrier. I got plantain chips and fried oysters. The food tasted so bland. The plantain tasted like the "oysters" and vice versa. Zero flavor. The oysters came with no dipping sauce.. the best thing was the Colada Moss juice I got. The restaurant is super expensive compared to other vegan places that actually have good food. I spent abt $30. The juice alone was 11! I won't be back. Idk how these reviews are what they are in terms of taste with this place. Save your money. Sorry I threw away the oysters but just picture the darker than the plantains.

My friends told me about this place, so came here for lunch one day. As soon as you walk in, you enter an amazing vibe. The space is gorgeous with great decor and ambience. All the food is already made, so you don't have to wait for your food. Super fast! You can see all the options available and then place your order. The food was unreal! Everything is vegan, but like the chicken drumsticks and BBQ ribs tastes so realistic. It's actually mind blowing. My only "complaint" is that the day I went, the music was blasting. It was hard to have a conversation with others in the table. I know they're going for an awesome vibe, but it says something when the staff can't even hear me when placing my order. Just needs the volume decreased a little bit.

Lemon cupcake - some icing came off in the packaging

Oh, Miss. Dodah! How I have missed your cooking. I was craving something healthy yet filling for lunch and Dodah's Kitchen did not disappoint. I ordered my normal entree with two sides and chose garlic kale salad, sweet potato fries, and "chicken" drummies for my selections. What I got was a beautiful heaping pile of fresh kale, gorgeously crispy sweet potatoes of an equally generous serving size, and three thick and crispy fried "chicken" drummies. I also ordered the lemon cake which surprisingly came in cupcake form this time around! It was a little awkward to eat because this cupcake was so dang plump, especially with the layer of thick icing on top, but I was still very very happy with it. Vegans, non-vegans, whoever you are and whatever you like - try Dodah's. You will not regret it!

Rice and beans , garlic kale and General Tso's Cauliflower

Visited for lunch today. Service was very pleasant and space beautiful. Only one person in when I visited. Waited about 10 minutes for fresh Gen Tso's Cauliflower and got rice and beans and garlic kale to go with it. Garlic kale is AMAZING. Beans and rice ok. Not really any taste to it. The cauliflower was good and kinda crispy. Could have had more sauce. Everything all together was verrrry good. The portions were large enough for lunch and dinner and then some. I would def revisit but ask for crispier cauliflower with more sauce. The place is set up as a buffet so you can see everything prior to ordering. They had a lot of offerings but it was not clear what anything was except the kale because it wasn't labeled. Menu large and displayed overhead and ginger lemonade was amazing. Def worth a revisit.

Peppersteak w/ Collard Greens & Chickpea Salad + Cassava Coconut Cake

Vegan soul food! Soul food and especially vegetarian soul food is a little hard to find where I'm from so I was really excited to have the chance to try some in Baltimore and I feel like my eyes have been opened to how good this food can be! This is a no-frills operation: counter service and takeout containers only, with a small amount of seating if you want to dine in. The food was more expensive than I was expecting but also higher quality than I was expecting, and they do give you a generous serving. The guy working the front was super nice! I tried the peppersteak over rice with the collard greens and chickpea salad sides. I was pleasantly surprised by how flavourful everything was! The vegan "steak" had a really nice texture, and for me struck the right balance of being tender and having the right flavour for the dish but not so meat-like that you would mistake it for actual steak. The collard greens were simple but prepared well. I loved the hot peppers in the chickpea salad - the slight kick set it apart from other versions of chickpea salad I've tried. Even the rice and beans that accompanied the entree were really tasty. The fact that the food is ready-made doesn't take away from the quality since a lot of it is stuff that benefits from being allowed to sit to let flavour develop, and as a bonus this means service is very fast! They also have a wide selection of cakes, cupcakes, and (vegan) cheesecakes for dessert. I had a piece of cassava coconut cake. The texture of the cake was really nice with lots of big coconut shreds and I liked that it was flavourful but not super sweet. All in all this was a very good introduction to soul food!

Fried shrimp, kale salad, seafood mac and cheese.

This place is a vegan dream come true! I'm only in town for a couple days and everything looked good, so I was pleased they offer free samples of the prepared foods on the line. I loved the carrot tuna and the Kung pao cauliflower. The pepper steak had a taste and texture that surprised me by how much it's like beef. Ultimately I settled on the fried "shrimp" with two sides: seafood mac and cheese and the garlic kale salad. The shrimp were prepared fresh and were formed into shrimp-looking pieces, down to the little orange/pink band on natural shrimp. The texture was shockingly like shrimp. I got 3 sauces to dip into, all house-made: hot sauce, "honey" mustard (made with agave), and a sweet and spicy BBQ sauce. The seafood mac and cheese had a great flavor of seafood and a creamy, dreamy texture everyone loves in mac and cheese. For my second side I went with the kale salad at the suggestion of one of the employees even though I don't always love kale salad. This was prepared perfectly, with the kale not woody at all. The dressing had the perfect garlic bite to it, and although to my taste the dressing was a little on the oily side, I don't make my dressings with oil at home or in my cookbooks, so that's more of my personal preference. Finally I decided to buy a dessert and bring it back to my hotel to enjoy. As another employee told me, the restaurant started out as a bakery, so dessert was a must, right?! I went with the strawberry cheesecake, again at the suggestion of the staff. And WOW! Delicious! It was the perfect ending to a perfect vegan meal. I only wish I could visit this city more often to eat here again aha again!

Oleum can best be described as vegan, chef inspired, fine dining. I was absolutely floored by how…read moregood everything was. To start with, the menu is very creative. You aren't going to find black bean burgers and cauliflower wings here (not that there is anything wrong with those). Instead, you will find small plates like Cannellini and Pan (bread with white beans) and Batata Harra (spicy Lebanese potatoes). Soups like Roasted Pumpkin. Mains like Steak, roasted veggies and Polenta in gravy. Pizzas like Meat Lovers with vegan bacon, pepperoni, sausage and spicy Italian sausage. There is plenty more dishes I just named the ones we ended up ordering. My wife started with a mocktail that included coconut and was meant to taste like a Creamsicle popsicle. Incredibly, it did. I was intrigued by a number of lattes but considering it was night and I had already reached my coffee quota for the day, I abstained. After that, we ordered and received our small plates and soup. The Cannellini and Pan was incredible. I don't know how to describe the bread. It looked like pita but it didn't taste or feel like any pita I've had before. The beans were flavorful, with a hint of spice. Speaking of spice, the Batata Harra was very spicy. Good, but definitely not for someone who can't handle spice. The soup was good but didn't really blow me away like everything else. Next came our mains, Steak and Polenta and the Meat Lovers Pizza. A lot of the pizza meats and cheeses are made in house at Oleum giving this pizza a unique taste all to itself. The crust was great, the meats were good with a hint of spiciness and the cheese was not too much and flowed with the rest of the pizza. The steak was a locally made vegan steak that cut and looked like real steak (I didn't quite have the same texture as I remember actual steak). Paired with polenta, mushrooms and Brussels and topped with gravy, this dish was incredible. To end it all, I took a carrot cake to go. Also excellent. The wait staff was incredible. Two different servers and the owner stopped at our table to check on us. Oleum is not cheap. This meal, with tip, was close to $150 dollars. But the quality and taste (and amount of leftovers) made the price more palatable. Will definitely be back!

I'm happy I got a chance to try the food at Oleum. These pics are from two visits. Upon my first…read morevisit, I ordered the kale ceasar salad and a butternut squash soup. 2nd visit was the breakfast burrito. Both times, the service was impeccable at the bar, and while being formally seated. As I'm not a vegan, I do frequent vegan places in hopes of finally transitioning, so I understand flavor profiles and what to expect/not expect. The salad dressing was a bit skimpy and the croutons were extremely hard. I asked for some honey to add to the sauciness of the dressing, which in hindsight, I should have just asked for more dressing. I've had vegan ceasar salad dressing before that somehow mimicked that anchovie-taste, which is what I expected here. For the soup, I had my mouth ready for a sweet savory taste, but instead it was salty savory which altogether changed my viewpoint on how this soup can be made. I asked for chili oil to give it a little pop. Onto the breakfast burrito - a sight to see! I'm not a breakfast burrito girl, but a friend let me taste her leftovers and I thought I HAD to have my own. At first bite, I can say it was a whole YES. My only ask was more seasoning, and to have cooked the tofu down just a bit more so it didn't give the consistency of a runny egg. I asked for sriracha, chili oil and ketchup to seal the deal. I highly suggest offering at least one of these sauces/oil as a free accoutrement, instead of charging per oz. Ambiance is always warm and inviting. The dark wood gives a homelike vibe and the music is on point. I will definitely be back for the breakfast burrito in hopes of more fun sauces on the side!

Pre order was easy, I did it all via my phone a couple of weeks in advance. Pickup was also super easy, I found parking right on the street, went in, and had my food all in my hands in less than ten minutes. The slider tray consisted of 10 Sliders. There were two each of Meatball Parm, French Onion Melt, Cheeseburger Cheesesteak, BBQ Jackfruit and Oyster Chick'n. All of them were well done, held up in transit and tasted good as leftovers. That being said, the BBQ Jackfruit were my favorite. If you ever have the chance to get your hands on her BBQ Jackfruit, definitely do it! The sliders came with three sides: a container of Bourbon Baked Beans, Traditional Mac Salad and Chips and Chili Queso These were also well done. Price wise, My Mamas Vegan seemed comparable to other vegan places in the area. I think the slider tray cost about 40 dollars and I, eating everything myself, had leftovers for days. The location is everything! Right in downtown Baltimore's up and coming Peninsula area, directly across from the Sagamore Rye Distillery. It's a fresh, developing spot that's definitely on the rise. The exterior is sleek and minimal, but once you step inside, boom!!! It's loud, lively, and unapologetically bold. Think vibrant colors, massive wall graphics, and a staff that greets you with energy and personality. They literally call you out as you walk in and it's hilarious and welcoming. Special shoutout to Zaneka (hope I'm spelling that right!) she was amazing. Patient, fun, and super helpful with all our first-timer questions. We were the first ones at the door when they opened, so we had the place to ourselves for a bit! We wanted to try EVERYTHING, but settled on: - The infamous One Night Stand - The Slutty Chicken Caesar Wrap - Both with Slutty Fries - And of course, the Oreo Cookie Milkshake to top it off Everything was flavorful and fun, definitely a unique twist on plant-based comfort food. My only drawback on my One Night Stand was that the Baltimore locations menu indicates that they add in chili on the burger which is not indicated on the online versions of the menu. I'm not a spicy food eater and I THINK that's what put the spice in this burger, I'll have it removed when I come back, but overall everything was pretty good. We ate in so our fries were hot and extra crispy. The milkshake was on point as well. I tried the pomegranate slutty ORGANIC lemonade on the go out and I have no regrets, very robust in flavor and really good. I am definitely a fan. Will be back to try other items on the menu. Drinks: Baltimore Vice -- strawberry-forward with a Don Q rum float, coconut foam, and freeze-dried strawberries. Light, refreshing, and very easy to drink. Piñata Riot -- a tequila twist on a jungle bird. Slightly bitter, tropical, and well-balanced. Both cocktails were solid and worth ordering again. Food: Green Chili Burger -- while it didn't quite hit true Albuquerque green chile standards, it was still flavorful and satisfying. A strong menu option. Zucchini Brie Pancake -- the standout dish. Unexpectedly balanced between sweet and savory, rich without being too heavy, and something I'd absolutely reorder. Overall: Great first impression. We sampled a variety of dishes, including the Caesar salad, Hangover Burger, bacon egg and cheese biscuit, Elvis pancakes, and a quesadilla--and overall, the experience was a solid 4/5. The Caesar salad stood out with its fresh ingredients and what tasted like homemade croutons. The Hangover Burger was cooked perfectly to order and packed with flavor, though the garlic fries it comes with are very garlicky--something to keep in mind if you prefer a milder side (you may want to request plain fries). The bacon egg and cheese biscuit was simple but delicious, while the Elvis pancakes--topped with bacon and peanut butter--were a standout and a must-try if you're feeling indulgent. The quesadilla was also very good, paired with an impressively flavorful broth that elevated the dish. To top it off, the iced coffee was bold and strong, but still smooth and refreshing. One thing to note: street parking is limited in the area, so plan accordingly when visiting. Overall, Golden Key West offers great food, solid portions, and a cool atmosphere that's definitely worth checking out.
