Salon was not very packed, thank God. They seemed to have a very structured system. They were kind, offered water, gave me a pillow for my back. I ordered the milk and honey pedicure. First let me just say that my nails are thin and weirdly shaped and I have been looking for a salon that can make my nails pretty for a very long time. And then I found Diva Nails!!!!! Everyone there is so nice and accommodating and welcoming. I leave very happy every time I get my nails done. I have always had trouble with acrylic nails staying on. They usually will start lifting within a week. Now I can go up to 3 weeks before a fill in. For my nails, that's insane. I always see Jenny for my nails. She's literally amazing. I was out of town and attended my event with a broken nail :( I returned 2 days later for a repair - after the repair, 2 more nails broke off and the top gel coat began to peel on every finger. Read this review. Ok so I went to this place 4 times. That's it, they had their last chance and didn't meet my expectations. I'm new in the city and I was looking for something closer to my house. The first time my nails lasted a lot. The second time too, I went with the same nail technician. The third time I went she was out so I decided to do it with another one who was ALL THE TIME on her phone, my wedding was that week so I decided to do french with dip powder, THE NEXT DAY my nails were all messed up!! I went with 3 friends today and we called before to ask for prices. When we arrived I sat down and asked the price for full set with French tip she told me $75 I thought that was a big jump from the intial price I was given so I asked her what the price for a normal full set and she told me $65. My friend sat next to me and got two different designs on her hand for $65. I knew at that point I was being scammed. Another one of my friends went earlier and paid $55 for a full set with French tip. I get my nails done monthly, this full set is painful and poorly done. read more

It is very difficult to photograph however this less than 5 day old brand new set has a crack in it. That however is the least of my worries as my index finger is completely missing. The entire top half of the nail ripped off. The pain is intense and it is so tender it needed a bandage for most of the day. So I was already in the salon when I began skimming yelp reviews and instantly got nervous. The salon was not busy at all around 3 pm on a Tuesday and I went for a pedi and full set gel mani. I have to review as two separate experiences: Pedicure Deluxe: Wendy was amazing - seriously on of the best pedicures I have received in a long time. The foot and leg massage was insanely good and she was meticulous in ensuring my short nails were painted perfectly. Pedicure: 5 stars. Manicure: Anne was really nice and my gel manicure was okay. I did more redirect on this, but what woman isn't picky about the shape of her nails. What made me nervous was when she started reading the shellac polish bottle, as if to look for directions...that made me and my friend who was me, both nervous. Overall okay, I give it 3 stars just because I had to do a lot of redirect on length and nail shape. I would recommend this place- sorry to see so many others had a bad experience. Everyone understood my English perfectly and I understood them. I wasn't uncomfortable at any point and everyone was very friendly and open to my expectations on services. I have gotten my nails done 3 times here now (acrylic French mani). The first time was great. They were upfront about pricing and did a phenomenal job. I think it was 3 weeks before I needed a fill. Second time, they quoted me one price at the door and another at the end (I think it was only like $7 more) but she did a great job so didn't really mind. Third time, I went they quoted me $30 at the door (AFTER inspecting my nails) and after I sat down and she filed all the polish off so I really had no choice but to proceed, she quoted me at $45. Every step I had to check my nails and there was something wrong up until the end when she had to completely redo one. I was there for over an hour and a half when it was all said and done, several of my nails burning from being filed down too much and most didn't even come all the way to the cuticle. I didn't catch any of their names unfortunately but my friend had the last woman when she went and had a similar experience. It's 4 days later and they're already beginning to come up. I'm being generous with two stars because I appreciate the fact that they were able to get me in when it was busy. I did read reviews first but I wanted to give it a chance. I got a basic gel manicure. Not even without leaving I could tell I was not please. My nails were not smooth and when I was done they just said that's it. Only a few days later did my nails crack. I came here with my sister on Sat 5/12 in a last minute pit stop to get a mani pedi before my sister's graduation party. We were told 5 min wait which turned into 20 mins. My sister had been wearing heels and had achy feet her water was cold and she had asked 3 times to have the water made hotter. And the response was later!!!?!?! I asked the same thing twice and would not accept nonfor an answer so finally they made our water warmer. Me and my sister both had aching and sore cuticles for about 3 days after. My pinky cuticle was cut to the point of bleeding and the lady told me it was my fault for not sitting up straight. My manicure/pedicure cracked and chipped the same day. It was very dull and needed a second layer of top coat. We were so pressed for time and if it was not an absolute necessity I would have gotten up and left. I would give this place 0 stars if possible. I went in for a mani/pedi, the pedicure was great even though I felt like the massage should have been longer for the price she was a little lazy. Lastly my manicure was a horrible experience. The lady did not know how to file my real nails, I guess because I didn't get false nails she didn't know how to file them correctly. I got my nails done because I had an appointment and didn't want to be rude, but their tools are filthy they use. On top of that, their customer service SUCKS! This place is wonderful! I've been going there for about 2 months now and absolutely love it! The atmosphere is chic, friendly, warm and inviting! They have a divider between client/nail tech and hand sanitizer at every station to prevent the spread of Covid. Jenny is my personal favorite but all of them do great work! I highly recommend them!! *BEWARE* Unlawfully held my daughter against her will. I brought my 14 year old daughter to get her nails done here. I went to pay the bill and they tell me they don't take American Express. No signs are posted whatsoever in their store about their credit card policy. They told me I could go to the ATM to get cash or customer service to get a gift card. I started to leave the store to go get a gift card and the lady grabs my daughter's arm and says she's not going anywhere and would have to stay until I got back. Well, that was absolutely not going to happen so I objected. They told me I had to leave either my daughter or something else worth $38 as collateral until I returned with the gift card. I was about to throw up right there as my daughter was being unlawfully held against her will. I was being forced to come up with collateral so that I could go get the gift card that they suggested I use to pay the bill. I was traumatized. A good patron from the nail salon flags down Security. I asked the security guard to walk with me to get the gift card because I wasn't leaving my daughter there with them and I was not going to give them my cell phone as collateral. I was disgusted. The security guard graciously walked with me to get the gift card. We had an interesting conversation. Bottom line, I'll never go back. They should be in jail. read more

Staff is rude and look unhappy to be there. I had an ok experience when getting my gel nails done on my toes, but the massage hurts. I've been to other salons, and I've liked all their massages much better. I got acrylic nails and the lady yelled at me because she thought I messed up nail. She became extremely rude and yelled. I asked her to show me where exactly I hit it and she was struggling to find an imperfection. Also, this place is overpriced. I've been to more expensive areas and they do much more for a cheaper price. The only reason I'm giving two stars is because the nails were done well. However, the experience was terrible. I used to come to this salon regularly, mostly because if it's easy location. I also used to think that I was receiving above average service ... that is, until I went somewhere else and figured out what above average service really was. i went to this salon looking to get a set of powder gel nails. the technician talked me up into getting a liquid gel set instead. the service was okay, the technician was rough, ended up making two of my fingers bleed. she talked to her friends 90% of the session, in another language, making it a little awkward for me. I didn't think much of it because my nails looked much better than they did when I had walked in. a week and a half later, I was in wilmington at my cousin's regular nail place and immediately after glancing at my nails the nail tech asked me if I had done them myself. come to find out, the woman at diva nails did not give me the "liquid gel" nail set which I had purchased, apparently skipped a few steps in the process causing them to yellow, did not sand/even the tops of the nails out, and didn't press the gel correctly near my cuticles causing them to lift after about three or four days. in conclusion ... pros: -pretty fast service -easily location (in the food court at Crabtree) cons: -services not worth the prices -dishonest employees -unprofessional employees -employees do not speak/understand much English -services are rushed rather than relaxed I will not be returning, ever. I think the worst thing that a business or an employee of a business can do is knowingly scam and lie to a paying customer. there is a reason this salon has so many bad reviews. read more

I am currently typing this review slowly and painfully because a nail tech at Diva Nail and Spa gouged and cut my cuticles out on THREE separate fingers, one of which is clearly scabbed over. I am still in pain on Saturday after my Tuesday visit. I will never ever return. My colleagues and I visited this establishment because we were in the area for a work function and had limited access to transportation. I love to give people the benefit and went in prepared for a positive outcome, but I can now understand why the yelp ratings are as they are and why that is completely accurate. To make a long story short, there was lots of barking and gestures of where we should sit and what to do. I tried to chat up my nail tech but she pretty much ignored me. She was pretty rough and squeezed each of my fingers especially hard while working on each nail, which made me wonder: what happened to these people to make them so mean? When I winced from pain after she cut my finger, she mumbled something about my skin being very dry and never even apologized. Needless to say, she didn't even offer a discount after injuring me, much less any apology. To add insult to injury, my nail broke the next day... I don't understand how that happens on a (30 dollar) gel manicure. read more

I should have looked at these reviews before going here. I went with three other people and they got pedicures and I got a manicure. The man who did my nails had the roughest hands and the manicure was horrible. It looked like I did it. There was nail polish on the sides and they are already chipping after one day. One other girl got the deluxe pedicure with a 10 minute massage. She never got the extra massage because she was finished at the same time as the others. When she tried to dispute it they just walked away and charged her card the full amount. I will never go back here or send any of my friends here. I recommend Cameron nails in Cameron Village. Wow! These reviews are cover both ends of the spectrum. I was recommended by a resident at a community I manage. My tech's name was Kelly. At first glance, it appeared she wasn't approachable but she warmed up in minutes. Our conversation was great too. There was 2% language barrier but we understood each other mostly. My fill in cost more than where I normally go to but the quality of service was better. She was honest and told me that I need to soak off the acrylic from time to time, and let my nails air out. Sometimes, people don't think of the labor these technicians go through and the personalities they may come across. I give this establishment two thumbs up so far. read more

So unlike some of the other reviews, I haven't had problems with the actual nail results (I've been twice for gel nails and pedicures). I went 2 days ago to get a fill for my gel nails, though, and had a really bad experience. When the nail tech was painting my filled nails with gel polish, during the second coat I bumped the tip of my nail against the UV light. She actually yelled at me that "it's messed up already!" and that I need to "MOVE SLOWLY." She started to wipe the smudged polish off my fingertip, then shook her head angrily, got up without saying anything, and walked away to the back room. A few minutes later she returned, talked to another tech, and continued ignoring me. The other woman came over, finished my nails, and rang me up, with my original tech refusing to acknowledge me after that. It was really off-putting, and disappointing since this is the most convenient salon for me, but I'll be looking elsewhere. read more

I've been here 3xs. First time mani:pedi, it wen't well. Nothing spectacular but worth the cost. What do you expect for a mall salon Second time: manicure. I was horrified. They butchered my cuticles and despite my protests, cut my nails way to short. I came one lunch break and didn't have time to wait for my nails to dry so I asked if I could come back after 5. "no problem" he said and took my 15.00 bucks and 4. Dollar tip. I arrive later, the man who worked on me before asked another person to paint my nails. She commented on my butchered cuticles. Thanks! After I'm done drying and about to leave, the young lady follows me out the door asking me to pay. I go back in, the original manicurist was gone and I explain . No Dice. I pay 6 more dollars for a color change and leave swearing never to go back. Third Time: a co worker who swears by this salon begs me to return . She told me she told the owner about my experience and he'd like to make it up to me. I should have never gone in but I really wanted to like this place bc it's so convenient to work. I make and appointment along with my co-worker. I let the girl know we are on a lunch break and only have an hour. They take my co-worker first (she did not have an appointment ) and I sit there for 25 minuets while 2 employees stand in the pedicure area. I get up to leave and one of them approaches me and said he was ready to do my nails. I assumed the best. I only has time for a color change.What a mess. He rushed and painted my cuticles. My 4 year could have done a better job. I asked to speak with the owner . He said he was it. I explained the ordeal from last time an everything that had happened until that point. He answered his phone while I was in mid sentence . With 6 minuets left, I handed over my card and explained again I had to run. Went there for a manicure and pedicure. The pedicure was nice and relaxing. It felt good an looks good. The manicure not so much. I got a gel French tip manicure and it doesn't look even. It also looks to be chipping at the corners and came off of one nail after 3 days. I've had a better manicure for a cheaper price.
