I haven't any services since April 2020 due to Covid. Today I came for the second time since February for my regular mani/pedi. They require masks for everyone and the employees sometimes wear two of them They have put up plastic dividers everywhere, which were thought to be helpful in the beginning. Now that we know the virus is aerosolized, the barriers are merely 'decorative'. They do show that this business has taken the virus seriously since the beginning. I've had my nails done by two techs other than Yallee or Bailey. I couldn't really get their names due to multiple masks. They both did the same meticulous job as the others. Sadly, I have taken them down a star. One of the main reasons I became a customer when I moved to NC was because they did NOT have televisions in the salon. That is no longer true. I will concede that the volume is very low and the peaceful music prevails, except for occasional bursts of startling sounds from a random show. Additionally, it is their policy to refrain from putting on news stations, which is refreshing. I've added a couple of pics of the new set-up. I'm super happy they have good service and a variety of colors.They also are nice and fast.

$36.00!! to remove gel and do regular manicure, took nearly 2.5 hours! ( I had appt. so no wait) And although I tipped $10. the techs must of been new bc he can barely get the acetone on my nails and she could barely cut and file......not happy with the outcome at all. I wouldn't recommend at this time, unless you ask for an experienced tech. Nice, clean place thou. read more

Since my coworkers nails looked great, I was excited to try them out Let me just say this place has extremely Great customer service. Everyone was pleasant and welcoming. Very attentive. Tina, the manager did my pedicure and Andy did my daughter's pedicure and Gel set. Terry did my full set ombre nails. They did a Fantastic job. Terrible job and they don't care. Can't expect another tech IN THE SAME SHOP to fix the next person's work. This came from the owner who was involved start to finish translating my complaints. Never go here unless you already identified who really does nails here. Only 2 stars because while she can't do a full set or speak English I can tell she tried her best. I had an appointment today at 12 and I was greeted upon walking in and they started service quickly. My usual tech is going to be out of town for sometime and I went to the salon she works at and they destroyed my nails. I saw all the wonderful reviews and pics on Facebook for Wakefield Nails and decided to give them a try. I was able to text for an appointment and that alone was great. I went to Wakefield Nails for a 2pm Scheduled Appointment for a full-se with designs on my nails. After 3.5 hrs later my nails were still not complete, shape incorrectly and design on only 2 nails because I had to leave because I had to pick up child. Also the air conditioner was broke and it was 83 degrees in the salon and they charged me $80 for a poor job full-set. I know they are trying to recover from the pandemic but these prices are way too high and especially for 3.5 hours of nail tech working on 1 customer in the heat. NEVER AGAIN read more

I've been going to Wakefield nails and been serviced by Yahlee now for over a year. Service is still as great as it was over a year ago even throughout Covid. Everyone is friendly and professional and since going there I haven't had a broken or chipped nail, ever! Yesterday, I got a gel fill-in by Yahlee and my daughter got her nails painted with gel polishes by Terri. Both Yahlee and Terri did a great job on our nails. This is the worst pedicure I ever received The woman who did my pedicure could have cared less about what she was doing. The water was luke warm and I asked her to add more hot water and she ignored me. There was no leg scrubbing and the towel she kept putting my feet up on was wet and cold. The polish on every one of my toes is not on the sides and it's driving me crazy. The worst part of the whole experience is that they are not sanitary at all. They do not line the tubs with plastic and I watched as 3 people came and went. All they did was empty the tubs and spray it a little with the water hose and it was filled back up for the next guest. I had a wonderful experience. I took a day off work to have a "me" day (I work 2 jobs and have 4 other people at home). I had read reviews of many salons and decided to come here although reviews were a little iffy, because I knew someone who came here for years and always had wonderful looking nails. I opted for the pedi where you get everything (I think it was $42), and a regular mani with gel polish. I had a young woman who said her name was Bailey and she took her time and did a great job! I also had my eyebrows waxed (I'm middle aged and mine are pretty thin because of that) and the wax lady did a great job. She did try to convince me that at some point I should get permanent brows, but due to not liking pain, that isn't happening! We all have different experiences at places. My bill for the gel polish mani, longer pedi, and brow wax was $79, which I felt was fair. I was there for about 2 and a half hours and NEVER felt like they were rushing me. They had other people coming and going and were nice to all. The ONLY negative wasn't on them, it was a woman who came in and berated them for being slow when she was the one trying to make them do 30 or more minutes of work in 10. I won't mention where she works, but just because of her bad attitude, I won't be going there for my cell phone business! read more

Been going to Wakefield Nails for awhile now.Its been a few times that I've had to complain about the polish. Weather it was not polished good or chipped etc... So this time i went on Wednesday before going on vacation and i promise by the next day it was already chipping. Then later peel. So of course im on vacation so what can i do then once I returned i was busy with work. Anyway I called first chance i got which still was only a little over a week. She telling me its been too long. Its no way after a week my nails should look a mess!!! Telling me I would have to pay if i come to get my nails re-polished. When they already charged you for every little thing on your nail then its not done correctly!!! I will not be going back!!! The two nails that i got whit tip that she charged extra for was chipping the very next day!!! Its definitely a rip off!!! read more

So.... about 3 weeks ago I decided to stop into this little place after another nail salon totally messed up my nails. They are Under New Management, and the new manager is superb. Extremely nice, extremely clean and friendly Place. They give you the nail file and buffer that they used on your nails so you can bring it with you the next time for sanitation purposes. Very relaxing atmosphere. They corrected my nails and I am only leaving this review because it is about two and a half to three weeks later. My nails have grown out and I have to get a fill-in, but absolutely no chips in the Polish. Today I got my first pedicure by a gentleman named Tony. Excellent! My gel fill-in service was provided by "Terri" both times. I am absolutely in love with my service and have found my new go-to place. read more

Visited this nail salon for first time and received an excellent pedicure done by Joe. He communicated very clearly with me through the entire process and took his time. This is one of the best pedicures I have ever gotten. Prices are reasonable. They even gave me a complimentary nail care kit to keep!!! read other reviews and someone was concerned with cleanliness of pedicure bowls. I feel the same way and that is why I am only giving 4 stars. I saw two people get pedicures back to back and the staff simply emptied the foot bath and quickly rinsed. For my first time going to this place, it was great. i went to get in a fill in and my eyelashes extensions. Terrie did a great job doing my nails. She took her time and saved me from getting a full set because i had a bubbles in my nails. Unlike other places I have been before, she stopped to ask me if i liked it multiple times. the fill-in came up to $35 and was more than i paid in the past, but was worth ever penny. My eyelashes extensions came out perfect too. She(Tina) constantly asked how i would like them and took her time even though i were about to close and i really appreciated it. They do a wonderful job on nails when you can actually get in. The last few times I've made an appointment I've had to wait at least 30 minutes to be seen. So scheduling an appointment with them is kind of pointless. The last time I went in without an appointment it took over 2 1/2 hours for them to complete a basic full sad because they over booked like usual. read more

I went in there and I get the pedicure that was $35 with the regular polish and I got a full set with gel polish which was $45, together that is $80. Not to forget I was the last person in the salon and the lady who rung me up said it was $80, so I handed her my card, after that she turned that tablet around with the option to tip and I made sure I pressed no tip because I already paid $80 which is not cheap, and I had plenty other things that needed to be paid for this week. So fast forward to the next day, I check my bank statement to see that I was charged an extra $16. I arrived at 5.25pm they close at 6pm. Another customer arrived after me. She was seen manicure pedicure was requested. I sat for 20 mins and in walks a late customer who had an appts an hour ago. The nail technician ask her why was she late she gave him an excuse. They asked me to come back in 30 minutes. Then they wanted me to come back the next day. The lady who was late should not have been seen! I set there all that time; no apology nothing. They just asked me to come back. No words to describe how upset and disappointed i was after visiting this place. The nail polish on my toes was running to the sides, the gel nail fill was just horrible... the girl filed my natural nail almost to the meat but left the old gel parts that were cracked and just dabbed some more gel on top, barely shaped them at all. My nails now look like badly formed shovels... terrible... ruined my day. Can't paint toe nails decently, do terrible job with gel nails... wouldn't call it a nail salon. Wakefield d Nails. Recent remodel, (12/11) look really nice and clean. Pedicure chair are new and comfy. I visit this location at least once a month for Pedi and wax. Prices are good $25 for a regular Pedicure and wax start at $10. They offer a full menu of Manicure and Pedicure spa, like paraffin and scrubs! The staff is Asian and they are nice! The friendlier is the Wax girl! (Sorry I don't know her name). So far so good! And sometimes in the Valpak mail come offers. read more

Was in the area, so decided to give them a try for a pedicure and a gel fill & polish. The technician didn't ask what pedicure I wanted and just went with the basic. Not sure if it's because I had on my distressed jeans so perhaps didn't look as if I would want the deluxe spa or because I was of color, and the rest of their clientele was not. In any case, the technician did a good job (didn't ask if I wanted a cut down, but okay) and the foot massage was lovely. When it was time to do my nails, the first technician started and I asked him to cut my nails down, he had to ask another what to do. Then, as he was filing, says you need a fill...um, yeah, that's what I asked for. So then, he hands me off to someone else, who is busy putting color streamers in another customers hair..sigh. When she finishes, she gruffly took my hands and proceeded with the drill. I explained to her that I wanted regular polish, with clear gel on top. Without even touching the builder gel, she put the regular polish on my naked nail and put me under an old school UV light (portable) that had seen it's better days. I told her, I asked for a fill..she says yes, this is it. Then she put builder gel on top of the regular polish and put me back under the light..all the while laughing at my color choice which had heart shaped pieces in a glittery pink polish. "This is Easter, not Valentine's Day" she repeated ad nauseum. Sigh. Now, I get fills every 2-3 weeks for the last 10 years, so I knew that was not right, but I didn't make a fuss because surely she wouldn't charge for a fill when she didn't do one. Wrong.. total $64. I paid without flinching and promptly came to my regular salon in Knightdale to have it corrected and get my toes t9 match. So.. $110 later, I have a fresh look for my hands and feet. Needless to say I won't patronize Wakefield Nails again. read more
