Absolutely horrible. I originally went in to get a pedicure and jail feel when I went into the business. The person that did my nails was very hands were shaking intensely. She continued tell me that she had a date while the two employees set and discuss the intensely hostile work environment. They are working in where the employee that was doing. My nails was being ridiculed for having mental health problems. She tried her best, but she did not do what was expected for my jail feel. I came back the next day. Another lady did my jail what she did absolutely perfect job, but I also received a pedicure so now we are two days in on our sixth hour of just the jail . I pedicure on the second day because on the first day I didn't want to upset the lady mental health concerns due to not being quite satisfied with the she was and also with it being such a long appointment. The pedicure did not include any type of scrub exfoliation. No exaggeration the person that did my pedicure took off my polish, my feet my nails and me $65. When I brought this to the attention of the salon owner, she offered to give me back dollars. This is absolutely unacceptable. During my time during my second appointment encountering the owner she is very rude very hostile. She talks to her employees with absolutely no respect. She talks about the or customers of the business after they leave about how crazy they are or talks badly about how they dress or how they look I just would not recommend going to this establishment I see why they were empty whenever I walked in on both I wouldn't I give one out of five stars, and I hate that the young lady that did my nails. The second day has to be included in this because as I told her, she definitely doesn't get the credit she deserves. She's a shining star in a very hostile environment with this overall business is horrible. I do have the video of me asking the person that did my pedicure if any kind of or exfoliation or scrubbing is included in the pedicure and she told me that it was not it was an additional service is published to my personal social media page. I went in to get a pamper pedicure because I specifically wanted the callous treatment. I did schedule an appt for the pamper pedicure and was also asked among arrival what I was getting. I'm sat next to my friend getting the same pedicure and the lady with blueish/silver hair streaks goes about my pedicure. I notice as soon as my friend gets the callous treatment that I did not get it. But my nail tech had already started polish, so I felt it was too late to say something, so I figured I could just ask at checkout to pay for the classic pedi. At checkout, it was a different tech, and I said I'm pretty sure I did not get my callous treatment, she said yes you did she scrubbed your feet with the yellow block, I said no she didn't use that on me. She called my tech over and asked if she used it on me and she said yes. I said I really don't think so because I usually react to the scrubbing and they both teamed up and went with their word, so I had to pay for the pamper. Looking at my toes now (20 min after leaving the appt), my callouses are untouched. I've gotten plenty of pedicures and know that if they even used the slightest bit of effort in that treatment, the callouses would practically be gone. They just told me that I had big callouses and didn't even bother to look. They claim to argue using security footage excuses with their other bad reviews, so I'd love for them to send over the footage of her scrubbing my callouses. If I'm wrong, I'll delete the review. Otherwise, I just got gaslit and scammed. Don't go here! read more

I showed her an inspiration photo for the holiday season with Valentine's Day coming up, and she was so patient and thoughtful--she gave me several red options to choose from and really took her time with the details. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. My friend and I booked pedicures at the same time after our work days and relax but in the middle of my work day I received a call asking me to come earlier. I work a corporate job where I can't just leave whenever I want and they seemed confused about what I had booked even though it was through their system. Once we arrived, they asked us to sign in and what we wanted (again booked through their system so they should know) even though we were the only ones in the facility. Our pedicures began and my tub overflowed with water due to the negligence of my nail tech causing a minor flood in the salon and detracting from the relaxing experience we were hoping to have. As we were finally being treated I was chatting with my friend and my nail tech continued to butt into our conversation providing unwelcome comments and her tech got so distracted that she neglected to give my friend the full treatment she paid for and claimed she did once we arrived at the register to pay. The pedicure felt hurried, especially given a lot of my tech's time was spent cleaning up the water. Overall an unpleasant experience and won't be coming back. read more

I've gone here twice now and have had good experiences both times. The staff is generally welcoming and attentive, asking if you'd like anything to drink and making sure your visit is going well. I had a great pedicure and wish I got the name of the staff member who did it. He was awesome. I've also gotten Gel-X done twice, both by Jackie. I think she's hit or miss. The first time felt like she was rushing and it was a bit sloppy. The second time was much more relaxing and the result was better. The salon itself is clean enough and looks pretty modern. They have a lot of different color options too. The prices are a bit high in my opinion. Overall, a solid salon that I will likely go back to. read more

JoJa Nails on the outside looks great and you can get a great service if you come on the right day and dont run into John or Jackie. This is the kind of place doesnt care about customer service and about getting the most out of you no matter what. Damages natural nails and only wants to get the most amount of money they can from you. Example- made an appointment for a fill in and design. I had naturally long nails and then in order to charge me for a full set decided to cut my natural nail down to the bone and then blames me for having no nail and requiring to charge me for tips. Unprofessional, not worth it and disappointing ownership/management. There are great technicians (Yumi and Blia) but Jackie has on multiple occasions been unnecessarily rude, blamed me for her mistake by being careless and not asking before just hacking my nails down to nothing. I came back an hour later, and had to wait 20 min to get my nails done. I asked for a broken nail to be fixed, gel builder and a gel manicure. My nails were rushed to get done (finished within 20 minutes). I've been here 3x's without complaint. I originally found them on IG and saw the designs they could give so I was on board. I booked with Quinn and she's my go-to. From what I've seen others are capable and super nice too! I'm a simple design girl who has been getting gel-builder for over 10 years but had a horrible experience at another shop in Wake Forest that caused my nails to break so I had to start over with my overlays. Quinn asked me about trying the dip powder and it's been amazing. My nails are almost the length I want them in about 1 month (they were low as you can imagine and brittle). I also love their policy on not putting your phone on speaker to talk to whoever is calling you. Wear your earpiece because it's rude and I don't want to hear your entire convo! This is probably thee most beautiful nail salon in RDU, however you are paying a very steep price for that alone, and not the quality of their services. I wanted my nails to be gorgeous & durable for my upcoming vacation so I decided to give this place a try. My flawed assumption was that I paying significantly more for better products & more experienced nail techs. My logic was incorrect. They nickel and dime you here. A basic pedicure ($32) is actually only an expensive polish change. If you would like an actual pedicure the price goes up to ($39). Annoyed, I consented to the up charge. I also received a full set with dip powder. I was the only person in the salon & the entire process took over 3 hours. The end result was nice, but I didn't feel like it met the price tag. 1 week later while on vacation my nails started popping off. I was pretty furious as this has never happened to me before. My daughter and I met here for some "mother-daughter time" Friday evening. A series of event unfolded that made the experience less than awesome, unfortunately. My daughter was late coming from her job. I went ahead and started my pedicure without her, as she was only doing a manicure. My pedicure looks great! The manicure technician did my entire manicure while sitting in the pedicure chair. I never had a fan put on my nails. The polish - specifically the top coat - seemed thick. As it dried, the polish on every finger developed tiny bumps in the coat. My daughter arrived, and while the process was efficient, I would say her experience was less than relaxing. There was no "official" drying table, her nails were painted quickly, and she was told to sit because "she was not in a hurry" and keep her fingers in front of a small fan. Even the checkout process felt rushed and like we were an afterthought. I believe that Joja Nails has very talented and friendly technicians. I just wish they had taken a bit more time, or - especially since my daughter was late (entirely my child's fault) that they had told us to reschedule to a slower time. I trust people way too much and expect that its actually for a good reason and not to put 50+ in their pockets. Then they proceeded to ask me about my pedicure. I said a CLASSIC GEL PEDICURE. you wanna know what blew my mind, it was $37.. NORMAL for gel. I would pay that no problem. I got to the front and he proceeds to tell me my whole appointment costed me $188 . W/O tip!???! Im a bartender, i literally cannot leave any establishment w/o a tip. So of course i tipped for their time n my nails. But are you insane? It was my fault i never asked how much gel x was and i also got french with design, so granted, my nails were going to cost me. But i asked for the break down of how much each was and the guy had like no sort of knowledge as to why, he almost seemed embarrassed to break it down for me because he knew i got finessed. He told me my classic gel pedi was $56/$58 which leaves my nails being $130ish !??!!! Like dude, lets be real. I would of rather got my hair done. They told me my gel was 37 plus extra 10/15 to SOAK MY GEL PEDI OFF? Where do they tell customers these upcharges and what establishment actually charges people to soak toes off ??? Only took them a matter of 2 mins to do that. i hate to leave a bad review, but honestly, dont play with people's pockets like that. Over $200 for nails and toes. Ill never come here again. They're also mega rude and unaccommodating. They promote a 7 day nail guarantee but won't schedule you a time for fix. They'll assign you something random mid day. Been looking for a salon for me and my best friend's nail dates and I'm so glad we chose this one! Amazing comfortable and super CLEAN atmosphere. I feel alseep during my pedi twice. I was provided a cozy wam towel and offered a beverage. She took her time with everything and made sure throughout my nap I was still getting what I wanted! I went 2 weeks ago and 3 days later my dip started chipping terribly- I paid $75 (tip included) this time so I was pretty upset. The past 3 times I've gone my nails chipped within a week. I won't be going back because I'm scared the price will be even more next time and my nails won't last. I have given it multiple tries to give benefit of the doubt but last time I went, both stations they tried to sit me at were so visibly filthy that there was nowhere to even rest my hands. It's one thing not to sanitize but to not even wipe the dust away from the last person? It make me think ... if that's how dirty the visible areas of the business are, what about their cleaning methods? Are they properly storing and cleaning their tools? Are they washing their hands? Also, all three times I got dip nails there, the shape was great, but the topcoat started peeling within a single day. I switched to regular polish and they chipped within one day. I said ok. They ran cold water and I asked three times to turn on jets, but she had to play on her phone and take phone calls, I guess, before turning on the jets, I took my feet out the cold water and left.. The staff was very nice and took care of me as soon as I got there. A couple colors were missing from their dip selection, but I was able to find a beautiful color for my nails. I was super excited to try Joja nails out for the very first time recently a day before my birthday. Upon my arrival my excitement quickly shifted. I'm one that's all about the "experience" and the customer service, I mean because if I'm treated well what's the problem right? Soon as I got there the person I booked with wasn't there and there was no follow up from management letting me know there's been a change in my scheduled service request. In fact I was barely greeted, and still wasn't provided courtesy with how my FIRST TIME APPOINTMENT was handled. They actually just stuck me with who was available without asking me first, so imagine traveling 20 plus miles for a first time ever app. with someone specific, to arrive and that person's not there... I was able to get past that simply because my birthday was the next day and I had already invested time and energy traveling awayssss away from home to be disappointed so I went ahead with Jackie and let her service me. The problem for me is lack of communication, no regard for my time. I actually felt horrible about having to still let them do my nails because the service was piss poor. Jackie's attitude is disgusting and having that been my first encounter with her I was utterly displeased. She obviously wasn't too thrilled about me asking her questions seeing how I wasn't originally booked with her and her response to me was "have you seen my work" I mean that alone legit made me want to walk out. The fact that this is my first time in your salon and I spent literally $174 that day and just because you're what you consider "good" with such a trash attitude for no reason is distasteful. I thought I'd be receiving better treatment than that from what I thought was an upscale salon but let warn you please do not spend a dime there. Yea her work was actually good but again the whole time I'm uncomfortable because my piss poor attitude tech was having a bad day and failed to consider how her attitude, communication and demeanor came across to me so rudely and I legit bared through it because my birthday was the next day and I didn't have time to find another place to do my nails and feet. The lesson for me was if it goes against my morals no matter what's going on, LEAVE!!! And because I'm who I am I still tipped her but cried soon as I hit outside because the uncomfortable feeling overtook me. As a business owner it's always about t what's in the best interest of my clients/customers who pay me to provide outstanding service with a spirit of excellence. Sadly this was my experience there and it may not be yours but I did hear that Jackie ALWAYSSS has an attitude and it makes me sick to the stomach that ppl will be treated like trash just because you're a horrible example of a leader within your business. I'd never recommend a soul to come sit in your chair because of your nasty disposition and arrogant behavior just because you do "good nails"... to me doing good nails isn't enough if I'm experiencing your projected emotions that was very unwarranted. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!!! it's always about how you treat people, I would've and could've spent more money but the $174 regret was enough damage to leave me scared and never step foot in that direction again! And let's be clear anyone spending ANY amount of money in your salon should receive nothing short of an amazing experience, no we're not perfect but this experience was horrific and all because of your terrible attitude and condescending behavior the entire time. To me it's never worth being treated poorly just because sis can do nails, I'll always pay for quality but not at the expense of me being made to feel like you're doing me a favor. Learn how to be a servant leader, teach your staff customer service etiquette it all starts from the top down. Definitely not worth the price that was paid or the time.
