Oh my gosh this place is so yummy! It's definitely way different then any other restaurant I've been to so it was a little adjustment. It seemed a little disorganized but I guess that's just how its set up. We went when it was busy, it's probably more ideal for when it's slower. You order food and pay for it and then you sit and the food runners walk around to find where you sat. The staff was super amazing and sweet though and helped us figure everything out. The owner of the place was helping out his employees and was very involved which was nice to see. They have amazing fruity beer. The grapefruit hef was my favorite. We got to sit outside in the sun. They have a really good set up to sit outside. Food wise the nachos were my favorite! They were covered in beer cheese and other yummy ingredients, it was also quite a large amount and very filling. Did Pizza and wings. Top gun pizza was amazing. Good size for two people. Wings were good quality, but the Sriracha Ranch was lacking in flavor. Also had the teriyaki ones which were really good. Overall would definitely go back. read more

Was our first time eating there and brought another couple. Overall experience not particularly great. We all had pizza. Would have liked to order the large for each couple and have our favorite ingredients on each half. Well no, can't do that with some kind of reason given about their computer system can't process it. But we could order the smalls each and get each for the same price as the one large. Whatever - that's what we did. So, two small pizzas and two soft drinks was $40. We sat outside and had to set up own table and chairs ourselves. We never had any service as you have to come and pick up your own order when it's done. Our pizzas were nothing special - hot, average dough, kind of thin on the toppings, and not particularly flavorful. Disappointed and won't be going back. They were not busy either so may be a clue. Came here on a very sunny Tuesday afternoon for lunch. We came after the typical lunch rush hour and sat outside. There's plenty of tables and it's a beautiful spot on the renovated revetment. Their beer selection is really nice, and I liked all the variety, especially the sour options. Our Moon Priestess Sour was amazing, loved it, and so happy to find it on the menu. We opted for a couple pizzas as well and found them really delicious. Without knowing the specifics, their pizza reminds me of Detroit style the most, a thicker crust pan pizza. It wasn't too heavy though and found it delicious. The edges get super crispy from the cheese baking against the tray, and it comes out piping hot. My millionairess with white sauce, mozzarella, pesto, fresh tomato and basil was delicious, will definitely be back. First and foremost it's a brewery. The beer is excellent and they've got a good variety. Not all IPAs. Plenty of good IPAs but a stout, red, brown, pilsner, as well as a few ciders. Even the names are fun and reflect the facts that the location used to be a movie theater. Then you get to the pizza, the highlight is the crust and the crispy cheese edges. There are 15 or so recipes as well a the Build-Your-Own option. They also offer a gluten free crust option. Lastly, they have wings. Both bone-in and boneless. I prefer bone-in. There are 18 different sauces although three of them are just heat levels for the Hell's Fire. If you brave the Hell's Fire *** I suggest you either put on some gloves or be very careful not to touch your eyes for a while. I know a guy. read more

The not so good: Stopped for a beverage and bit after a nice day out on a hike. Everything seemed good, friendly staff, decent beer selection but when our food order--a pizza came and we started to eat, there was a nice hair bake into the cheese. I showed it to one of the servers and he said he would tell the kitchen. Thinking that was great, I left it at that and tossed the food in the garbage. Done, I am out $19 for a pizza but it was a teaching moment. When we went to leave I asked the server how they reacted to the hair and he told me that since I didn't make a big deal about it that they just let it go as one of those things that happens.. REALLY? Do I need to make a scene to have a business understand that this is not OK? My son and his friends go here often but after sharing this with them they are looking at the many options in town to take their business. Sad when customers don't matter anymore to business owners. The good: View from upstairs was amazing, the servers and staff are all super friendly and try to be helpful. The variety of beer styles is good and the pilsner was smooth and enjoyable. The pizza was very good, nice flavors and the style was not something you get everywhere. If it hadn't come with a hair baked into the cheese it may have been great. read more

This place had mediocre food and environment was chaotic Unfortunately this review gets one star because of the food service. We waited OVER an hour for wings when the pizza line took 5 minutes. Our friends their ordered their pizza after us and we're able to get their food and finish it well before we even got our wings. The wing/salad station is not up to speed either the rest of the kitchen and is not being managed well. When approaching staff to ask about our food they replied with "you're next" and proceeded to wait another 20 minutes...would not recommend because of the wait. Done with places asking for a tip on top of their raping prices and you bus your own table!!? here's a tip District, don't tell me you can make a pepp. pizza when you can't. The Lyric Light by District Brewing is my new FAVORITE beer. It's an absolutely incredible, crisp, refreshing light beer. My boyfriend and I come here everytime we're in Mount Vernon since it opened, and very grateful that it did. Great location if you want to sit outside and enjoy the water! The atmosphere is great, we have been there several times and no issues, the last time we ordered the District sized Top Gun Pizza and the Korean spiced wings. It was a home run. The wings are Outstanding, as is the pizza. They have the $15.00 special that is outstanding for the pizza and either a 4 or 6 pack of beer. Beer. Nice selection! Always seem to have something we like (double ipa, nice hard ciders selections). We come for beer quite often- love the outdoor seating on the river. Hope this stays in the fall and winter with a tent and heat source. We will keep coming if we can have our beer outside. However, the pizza is underwhelming at best. Tried it twice just to make sure. The only good thing was the crust. Marinara sauce is bland, pepperoni on the low end of mediocre. I heard one person say "my kids love it". Well, cheesy bland pizzas are a kids's fave. Not mine. Terrible. Absolutely no service. Too expensive, dirty tables, food is just OK, you do everything but heat up your meal. Order, get your own beer, get your own food, bus your own table and they still want a tip when you check yourself out. Also, fix your tippy tables. The beer spills all over the place because the tables are so tippy. Unfortunate for such a nice location on the river. Hope they improve their service at some point to justify the food prices. The tables are extremely tippy. Before we even got a sip of our drink we tried to wipe off the table as the staff member had used a wet cloth on it and the drink spilled. None was left after it spilled on the table. We went right back in after we had purchased it and explained the situation. They then charged us for a second cider. We went back in to speak with another employee as we thought they should have compensated for the spilled drink as most places do. They said they would speak with another employee and come back to let us know. The employee we spoke with agreed the tables are bad and recalled a situation where she set something on a table and everyone's drink spilled. No one ever came back. After sitting with our empty plates for 10 minutes we spoke with the waitress who asked us if we needed a box. She then said they never compensate anyone who spills their drinks. We explained their tables suck and she said they wouldn't do anything. Sorry not coming back and not recommending. Too many great places in Bellingham for awful service in Skagit with lackluster pizza. **update: the waitress came back and said she would comp us for the alcohol but NEVER does that for customers and normally would not. When these guys say they close at 8:00, the goal seems to be to have the floors mopped and the staff out by eight. It's definitely a different business model for a restaurant. We were asked to leave before we finished eating or drinking the beers we ordered at "last call." The pizza and beer were delicious, but fortunately there are lots of good places to eat and drink these days where you won't be summarily rushed out the door. I have been here twice now. I was not impressed by the pizza or pasta we had the first time. The best way I can describe it is "freezer or can". All of the ingredients tasted very generic and low quality. Not what we had expected. However the beer and cider was good. I went ahead and gave them a second chance knowing it could have been a hiccup the first go around. I was even more wrong the second time. Food was still low quality. They wouldn't serve "crowlers" unless you were leaving even though it is a better buy. You are forced to buy a more expensive pint or pitcher of the same product. They nickle and dime the customers by charging for condiments. My advice, if you want good food great staff and a good beer selection hit Skagit River Brewery or Pacioni's both have superior quality pizza. read more
