There are so many new breweries in the Mount Vernon area, and District Brewing is lucky to have the best location, and they sure took advantage of it, I was very impressed with the atmosphere. We had lunch upstairs and it was really nice to have a little more privacy, as they were very busy down on the main floor. We all ordered small 7x9" pizzas, and they all came out at different times. My pizza was great, although thick crust pizza really isn't my preference, so I probably wouldn't return for the pizza only because I prefer a thin crust. The crust was awesome burned around the edges, what was a nice touch. I will probably return in warmer weather to try eating outside, and I'll order the nachos on the appetizer menu, which sounded really yummy. The beer was above average. If I was looking for a nice place downtown to have lunch I would put District Brewing near the top of my list. The building is the old historic Lyric Theater, I remember seeing a couple of movies there when I was very young, so it was really nice to see the building renovated. read more

Meh. Great location and we were hopeful this place would be a good post-camping stop on the route home, but they disappointed with their food, their beer and their order flow. Order came out at different times, the wings were so over salted/spiced I couldn't finish the order, my daughter got sick from her super greasy pizza and my wife's salad was pretty unremarkable. The beer was, at best, average. Its more like a fast food version of a brewpub. I will give them points for a decent effort at COVID restrictions with a good outdoor seating area. The best part of the trip was hearing the local farmers trading stories about what crops they planted and how they had to drive to Ferndale for replacement tractor parts. A different, and welcome, cultural vibe in the Skagit for sure. The staff was nice, but we'd skip this place next time. read more

Amazing pizza and baked wings! The cheese sticks are good too. We've been here probably a dozen times now since they opened and they are consistently delicious! We've visited when service had been amazing and other times when it was less than pleasant. In the worst of times, we have witnessed them being overwhelmed with the high volume of guests, this wasn't something we could get upset with. Most of the times, they offer a clean setting, caring service and seating to choose from. You have an option of sitting on ground floor, upstairs or outside- the last two offer views of the river! Came here tonight with my wife for maybe the third or fourth time. It will be the last and we didn't even get a chance to order. My wife forgot to put her mask on and was rudely greeted in line by, presumably, the owner, based on the way he was referring to the place as "his restaurant ". Rather than politely asking her to put her mask on or asking her if she had one he very impolitely told her that he doesn't want people without masks in his restaurant. And so we left and will not be back. We are big supporters of our local breweries but I don't want to support a business that treats the customers so poorly. It's too bad because they do have good wings and they keep some good beer on tap. I recommend checking out Temperate Habits up the street. read more

Great new Mount Vernon brewery in a fabulous riverfront location. Located in a fantastically revamped historical building in old downtown, it has great views of the Skagit River and downtown promenade walking area. Go for a stroll along the river then grab a beer. Large beer selection, and you can get them to go in fresh sealed cans from the taps. Every beer I have tried of theirs has been excellent. Juice Almighty is a hit for a great hazy IPA. My husband is a glutard and they actually have a very good gluten-free pizza that even I will tolerate eating (which I never do). The manager Mel is the friendliest, hard working guy around. Nice new fire pit tables on the patio for safe Covid sitting. read more

Ordered the Never Ending Story pizza and it was delicious; crust was perfect. Very glad we ordered the 13x9 for two people and have leftovers. Have to pick up food at downstairs counter, incase you have restrictions getting up and down stairs. Will definitely come back here the next time we're passing through the area. Looks like a cool place to hang out, but for takeout, it's pretty underwhelming. The pizza dough is pretty bready, almost like focaccia bread. The edges are burnt, and they skimp on toppings, cheese, and sauce. The ingredients were pretty fresh, though. I'd go back, after COVID, to hang out, but won't be ordering takeout from them again. I was very impressed by this establishment! We arrived on a Saturday for lunch and were able to order quickly. The menu was very descriptive for the the food items and offered drinks. I liked the pretzels that were offered while we waited. We sat on the upper balcony with a view of the river. The ciders were delicious! read more

First off - since this is a brewery, let's talk BEER! If you enjoy a fresh IPA or really any other number of beers, this is a great place to start. I am gluten intolerant and over the years have battled with various problems when I have a beer. Not here! Not sure why but haven't had any intestinal issues drinking District brews. That aside, I like a citrusy IPA that has good bitterness but doesn't punch you in the face and District really nails that. Second - food! We have dined in 5-6 times so far. Since this is a new place they have been trying out some new ideas. Their first gluten-free pizza crust was only so-so, but they quickly caught on and swapped over to a GF cauliflower crust. Delicious! My wife who isn't GF loved the pesto pasta and the flatbread appetizers. Third - service! We have been treated well every time we have been in. COVID is a huge challenge for all restaurants but the team has been responsive and accommodating. One day we stopped by for beers but didn't want to sit inside. We asked the manager and he immediately set up a table outside just so we could have a beer. Now they have tents with some regular tables and some heater tables outside all the time. The sum up? Love this place, would recommend to others and yes, I'll be back. :) read more

Have tried 3 pizzas here, The Blue Hawaiian, The Godfather and The Tombstone.(all the food and beer is named after movies, Fun!) All 3 pizzas were great and filling! The pretzel bites are a nice appitieizer, with a choice of different sauces, and the Caesar salad is also a very tasty starter. The Flux Capacitor Hazy beer is a favorite. Very nice and flavorful, not to heavy and nice finish. The German Pilsner is also deep flavored and very refreshing. Girlfriend likes the kambucha beers and says The June shine hard kambucha is awesome!! All the Covid guards are in place, outdoor or indoor seating, social distances, masks, gloves, etc... Love these crispy pizzas, but would love it if they could offer a smallish range of healthy food for those who can't eat gluten or dairy (or sweet sticky sauces). Amazing pizza! Omg - SO many options. I got the pepperoni, goat cheese, arugula and truffle oil pizza (the Goodfellas without prosciutto) and it was incredible. Wish I got the bigger size. Beer was great too. I got the #6 lite beer and it was the best beer I've had in a while. District had a great outdoor seating area and the staff is great. The Caesar salad was quite tasty and fresh and the pizza topping --tried one with truffle oil and arugula--was pretty darn yummy. However, pizza crust, to my way of thinking, is supposed to be crust, not a thick wad of half-baked dough, particularly considering how long it took to get to the table.
