The Wheel House is the bar side of Village Pizza and offers a full menu of pizza, sandwiches, salads and appetizers in addition to having a full bar. Pizzas offer a wide variety of toppings. The crust is delicious and just the right thickness. I can't talk about the appetizers or salad because I always get pizza. The bar is great - lots of table seating and a dozen or so bar stools. Awesome combination of restaurant and bar. You can order from the restaurant side and they'll deliver to your table but we ate in the bar. Great service. Super friendly and welcoming. The pizza was just what we wanted. Medium thick crust, tons of cheese and toppings on toppings. We also got the mozzarella sticks which are baked and not fried. The food was fine. When we walked in, we were a party of six. None of the tables seated six easily. We asked if we could push a table up to one of the booths and I'll sit together there. They wouldn't let us do it. They wouldn't let us push two freestanding tables together. They forced us to sit at a very long table that was set up for over 25 people I think. It was awkward. Another large group came in after us and sat at the table with us. It made for a noisy and not very comfortable conversation for our meal. They didn't seem very welcoming to people who were coming in either. It seemed like all the locals knew to just walk up to the counter, order their thing and go sit down somewhere. But we weren't local, and we didn't know that. I ordered their mushroom chicken Alfredo pasta, and it was very good. My husband didn't order it the right way though, and I ended up not having a salad with it. That was sad. read more

Great food again, the village idiot pizza is the best! Lots of meat, good Italian seasoning and while it isn't thin crust, the crust is light and crispy. Absolutely the best pizza in Anacortes! The everything salad is covered with bay shrimp, mushrooms, cucumbers and black olives. It comes with onions and green peppers which I omit. It is delicious! The ambiance is loud and usually full of people, staff is friendly and quick to serve. They have been here for years one side is bar with full service the other is dining for families. For approximately 56 years I have rarely missed a month of ordering food and beverages from Village Pizza. It started as a Junior High School discovery and turned into most Friday nights in High School after the Football or Basketball Game. The little place at 711 Commercial (the Original location) was so popular after games that you could barely navigate to the restrooms. It was standing room only, the seats were like picnic benches. The tables covered with red checkered oil cloth, and the small cheese pizza was 99 cents. My husband supposedly told his friend Rob Nickerson, after seeing me there one Saturday afternoon "I'm going to ask her out and I think we're getting married someday". It was 1974. By 1977 the moved to their new spacious location at 807 Commercial Ave; site of Bryson's Mortuary up until John moved in with that famous dough, sauce, and toppings. There were plenty of jokes about what the ovens had been previously used for!!! The crowds got bigger and the food stayed the same, delicious, with a very complete menu and sides, desserts and beverages. There was a room to the side for Birthday parties, awards ceremonies, and Youth Sports Banquets. The room became a game room a couple different times, and then the newer owners created "The Wheelhouse" a classy pub with a terrific beer menu (though they stopped serving Manny's, quite a long time back) the salads got even more delicious ( I don't know how they do it; it is always so fresh and crisp with the World's best Ranch Dressing). Some people swear by the baked spaghetti, some the garlic meat balls, or Calzones. There are more choices than ever with gluten free now available.You can get your food delivered, you can pick up or for the most fun of all you can take your family and dine in. There is nothing better than a mushroom pizza with extra mushrooms, an Everything Salad with Ranch and a beverage of your choice; unless your choice is Manny's, like me you'll settle for a Diet Pepsi. The service is phenomenal, the atmosphere couldn't be better, and every once in a while on a rainy fall evening the Pub side is so packed, the windows are dripping sweat and if you close your eyes for just a moment or two, it is Friday Night in 1973 again and all our friends are there, and life holds endless possibilities. read more

Good draft selection and price at happy hour, had an IPA and talked to bartender for a minute. The family and I came back in the afternoon and had pizza at village pizza. All was great. read more

It was time for another wing hit and after reading Yelp reviews, I dragged hubby here. And I am so glad I did. Ordered the regular Hot Wings and they arrived promptly and wafting Buffalo Sauce. Ten wings, too. Not just some wimpy 6 or so. Good division between flats and drumettes and nice and moist. We almost got a second ordered but opted to try a small pizza instead. Ordered the Garden pizza but hubby wanted sausage and I wanted meatballs. So we compromised and ordered both! Super yum...and ample. I had a small sliver this morning because you know...pizza for breakfast is a thing! We will be back in the neighborhood in about a week. Will be hitting up the Wheelhouse for another round of wings. I've always wanted to try The Wheelhouse in Anacortes. We have been to Village Pizza many times and the Wheelhouse is connected to the Pizzeria. Their menu is the same and you can order a pie to be brought into the bar. We were fortunate in that we happened to choose a Saturday when the town was not jammed with people. It was very casual in there without the crowd which I liked. I've seen that place with standing room only. I liked the dark wood and the nautical atmosphere. We only had wings and drinks and the wings were just spicy enough but were cooked in the pizza oven and not deep fried. I thought the skin was too sticky but otherwise they were good. The Barman was efficient and friendly. We love Village Pizza and you can negate the kid factor by going into The Wheelhouse. We will be back. read more

They seem to have the same menu as Village Pizza- but with a full bar! My boyfriend had a Melvin beer on tap and I had a screwdriver. while our drinks choice were basic, I saw the bartender make some fancier cocktails as well. First of all, the servers, bartenders etc are so friendly and cool! They are fast and can multi task like crazy! The pizza is the best pizza around. They also have garlic balls (bread) that are so yummy! A favorite of mine are the meatballs. Fantastic bar, right behind a pizza place that you can order your pizza and carry down the hall to the bar to sit down and have a beverage while you enjoy some good food. They will also bring it to your table. The bar is very pleasant with lots of pictures of early american period pictures about the life of old Anacortes. The bar is full service and strictly 21 or over so please leave your kids at home, this is a location strictly for the big kids. The pizza establishment that is connected by a hallway is kid friendly, the last time I was there it was a group of folks gathering for a bingo night.
