I love that they are super dog friendly, and in my opinion, because of this, I rather spent my dollars here than in mammoth brewing. I hope they never changed. We are finishing a week's vacation in Mammoth, and ate here three times! Great beer and ciders, friendly service, and tasty food: we had the flatbreads and sandwiches. Serving sizes are not enormous but we were satisfied and have normal-sized appetites (one 28 year-old man, and 4 of us in our late 50s). First off, the Owner and I did not share any Direct Messages. He sent one message which is nearly a direct copy/paste of the statements he made here. It was obvious he going to outright deny everything, regardless of the situation, so I did not respond. He stated in his message that he was at the restaurant at the time I visited, which is false. I asked to speak with the owner at that time and was told he was not at the restaurant. The only server that was wearing a face covering that evening was the waitress with the blond hair. The waitress with brown hair and the guy that was working the outside tables were not wearing face coverings the entire time we were there. The owner also made a snarky comment about how contacting me would be "fruitless based on my other reviews." He's missing the significance of my limited, but overtly negative reviews. There are only three, in total. I visit dozens of restaurants, businesses, parks, breweries, hotels, etc. every year. Hundreds or even thousands throughout my lifetime. Many times I've received service that is subpar, food that is not good, customer service that is in serious need of improvement, but I don't complain, leave adverse feedback or complain to management. In fact, I usually tip generously, regardless. I worked as a server through college and I understand the environment. To my point, only twice prior to my visit to your establishment, Distant Brewing, have I left negative reviews on Yelp. Only two times in history was the service so poor that I felt the need to take personal time out of my day to respond and comment on the experience. Distant Brewing was #3. read more

We sat outside but asked for the heater to be turned on, by the time the staff turned on the heater for us we had already finished our meal. Service was a bit slow but due to Covid and probably the adjustment they have to make I will give them a pass on that. Stopped here for some lunch. I ordered a glass of their stout. It tasted very fresh and clean with a little hoppy aftertaste. I ordered the tri tip sandwich which came on a roll and looked great. Unfortunately the tri tip was very tough and had too much pepper on it. I did eat it but it was not the quality I was expecting. Picked two beers somewhat at random and loved them both, Basic Batch cream ale and Vastness of Darkness (?) nitro stout. At the beginning of COVID my husband and i joined a virtual beer tasting class with LA Beer Hop which has now become a club/community. Their IPAs are amazing, though be sure to try their other styles like their aged sours, gose, ales, stouts, and more. Everything is exceptional.
