    Poblano Artichoke Dip $16
    Cyn K.

Overview: not much real service, cool place for sharing appetizers, expensive mixed drinks ---- How it works: - scan a QR code at the table and everyone can individually order and close out their own checks - at first I wasn't a big fan of this way of ordering but if you're with a group of people it makes it really convenient to pay instead of having to split the bill and calculate different totals ---- Our favorite dishes were the shishito peppers, the artichoke dip, and the volcano roll Blistered Sesame Shishito Peppers $11: - the flavor of the ginger soy sauce was so good, nice tang and savoriness - the peppers were seasoned well and the char added a smoky depth of flavor - I also enjoyed the nuttiness of the sesame seeds Poblano Artichoke Dip $16: - dip is made of artichoke, poblano chile, corn, cheddar, colby jack, parmesan, garlic, mayo, sour cream, and cream cheese - very creamy and rich, good amount of seasoning and salty enough - very comforting dish, served warmed and with slices of pita - my favorite part is the layer of caramelized cheese on the top Volcano Roll $23: - california roll topped with scallops, red and green tobiko, topped with sriracha, spicy mayo, eel sauce, and chives - I love sauce so this roll was perfect with the 3 sauces loaded on it - it's a basic california roll, but elevated with the scallops and fish eggs ---- Shelter Nachos $15: - not enough avocado - pretty basic, I'd order something more unique if you come here Hummus Plate $18: - probably one of the healthier options - also pretty basic - 3 different hummuses: roasted red pepper hummus, basil hummus, and traditional hummus - comes with slices of pita, cucumber, carrots, cherry tomatoes, and olives - I'd like more tomatoes and cucumber ---- Minus one star for service - they weren't that friendly or welcoming - it was basically self service for everything like water, utensils, extra plates, and napkins - the only interactions were them bringing what we ordered to the table ---- Notes: - not really any street parking, especially when it's busy so we parked in paid lot walking distance away - more brewery ambiance than a restaurant ambiance - I liked the dimmer, warm lighting and seeing the machinery behind the bar ---- Overall: Nice place for appetizers and mixed drinks (a little expensive, but so is the rest of mammoth haha) it's a great if you're with a group of people and want to try out different dishes. My recommendations are the blistered shishito peppers and the artichoke dip!

Beautiful distillery! Very efficient ordering process and helpful staff. You can order directly at the counter or by scanning the QR code at the tables. Plenty of seating! The ahi tostadas were delicious and had a little kick to them. The Pepperoncini martini was okay. It was very spirit forward (which I know is expected from a martini), but left me wanting more pepperoncini and pickle flavor based on the name. Overall, good food at a reasonable price.

We visited Shelter Distilling for dinner and found it very busy. Seating was self-serve and we were able to snag a table just as another party was leaving. The vibe inside was industrial but still cozy, with a large chandelier and nice live music. We ordered right from the table (Toast QR Code), which was convenient. All three of us got Hot Chocolates to warm up, which were actually delicious. I was especially impressed by the house-made whipped cream. For food, we shared an order of Fried Cheese Curds, which were awesome. I wish they had come with ranch too, not just ketchup. I was starving, so I ordered both the Beet Salad and Spicy Tuna Hand-roll. Both were just fine. The beets were the best part of the salad, but it wasn't anything memorable. The Hand-roll was filling, but they went pretty heavy on the spicy mayo. My friends also said their food was good, but nothing mind-blowing. Overall, this place was just solid for dinner and service was quick.

The Phillie cheesesteak Gordo taco! Delicious.

A really fun place to check out, right in the heart of Mammoth Lakes Village. Urban hipster vibe, with a view of the working side of the distillery operation. I've always admired the complex labyrinth of water lines, fermentation tanks, etc, required for brewing and distilling. It's beautiful in a steampunk sort of way! Although I didn't sample any of the spirits (this time!) I did try a flight of their craft beers, which included a hard cider that I found truly delightful. They have a host of innovative food offerings, and a happy hour menu that won't leave you disappointed. I'll be back for a tasting of their whiskeys for sure!

So surprised with how good this place is. Not a fan of the restaurants at The Village but we were in need of place where we could bring in a stroller. The nachos with chicken were very flavorful and well packed with protein. Specialty pizza was really good too. Seasonal drinks were fun! So glad we stopped here. Ambiance was fun, would love to come back!

Service is non existent, not because it's bad but because you order through your phone and pay through your phone. Place is your typical gastropub brewery set up with tons of tables and spacious seating. I liked the food, just found it to be expensive for literally no reason. Also I HAAAAAATE that you can order whatever on the menu and it will cancel items for you (after you confirmed the order) without notice. My families dinner came out but my partner was missing their dish. I was able to flag someone down and asked about it and their lousy response was "oh the online order came through but we cancelled the French dip because we sold out". I asked them when we would be notified and the server said it doesn't...... so my family waited for my partners dish to come out and everything was cold by then... very unpleasant experience. 2.5/5

The food is so good here, we tried a pork belly taco and OMG the best, so tasty and juicy We also had a pepperoni pizza, a rajas dip, and a cheesecake for dessert. Everything tasted delicious. We had a sampler of beer and it came with a cider, the beers were good, but I'm not a fan of the ciders. It's a nice location and they have outside seating for furry babies so that's a plus for me. The service was good, you order with your phone and they bring the food to you.

Only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is a few of the drinks we wanted to try were out. Otherwise we were able to walk in and get a seat, we were staying near by so lucky enough to walk, not sure how parking would be otherwise, scan a QR code and order your own food. It was pretty easy and straight forward. The food was absolutely amazing and fresh. Good portions as well. Very friendly staff. Clean restaurant. Good atmosphere. Would recommend and return. Good for all party sizes. Lots of couples, but also had a large birthday party:

Atmosphere: 5/5 - This distillery was a great place to go after a long day of snowboarding. It's conveniently located at one of the lodges near our stay, and had plenty of indoor seating and some outdoor seating. Service: 5/5 - They had a QR code on the table where you can order your food. I really liked this feature because it was user-friendly and efficient. Upon ordering, the food came relatively quick thereafter. Food: 4/5 - I got the seared ahi dish which was good. I wish it came with some sort of nuts or wonton chips to give it a crunch. The seared ahi was seasoned with zesty sesame sauce which tasted great, but it was a bit overpowering after a few bites. I loved that it came with avocados and that the portion was big. It was a filling, delicious, refreshing meal. I recommend checking this place out if you are in Mammoth. I also tried my bf's pork belly taco and it was really good, so I'd definitely come back to try their other items on the menu.

This is the seared ahi just if your interested

It's a very nice place quite busy though so I don't recommend if you have a big group and there foods really good. Also for a person like me ordering on your phone is the best no social interactions. And the service there was quite nice

Beautiful place where you seat yourself and they give you a QR code and you order through the toast app. No server, just food runners. So if you want a night out and great service this is not your spot. But drinks in a loud environment with solid food, this is your jam. For appetizers we started with the Serrano and artichoke dip. I loved the Serrano which cut through the richness. We also had the hummus trio which was a huge amount of hummus, I especially loved the pesto flavor. They barely give you enough pita so you have half the hummus left on the plate when you run out of things to dip into it. For the mains I had a sad shrimp taco and a chewy carne asada taco. Being from SoCal and eating good Mexican all the time, I would skip these. The Ahi salad was excellent! And so was the Beet Salad with goat cheese. My daughter had a steak sandwich, which i had a bite and thought it was solid and the pizza looked good. I asked for an extra dressing for the beet salad and the guy said no problem and never came back. Cool concept, I get the do it yourself concept, but I wouldn't say I would seek it out. But the food was solid sans the tacos and I would eat here again.

Tucked into the Village right next to Gomez's Mexican Restaurant (which is no slouch itself), this place pulls off that rare trick: it actually feels like a legit Italian escape...just with better snow outside. Let's start where all good decisions begin: pizza as an appetizer. Yes, you heard that right. Their authentic pizza oven isn't just for show--it's the real deal. Thin crust, blistered just enough, and gone in about 90 seconds at our table. No regrets. The tricolore salad is a solid opener--fresh, simple, and a nice way to pretend you're pacing yourself. You're not. Because then comes the main event: Voltaggi-O's. Imagine your childhood love affair with Chef Boyardee's Spaghetti-O's...then imagine it went to culinary school, studied abroad in Naples, and came back with confidence, depth, and a killer wine list. That's this dish. It's nostalgic, elevated, and borderline dangerous in how easy it is to keep eating. And honestly? The staff might be the real MVPs. Servers and bartenders here are five-star across the board--attentive without hovering, smiling like they actually enjoy being there, and full of spot-on recommendations (which, let's be honest, we happily followed). Bottom line: If you're in Mammoth and craving Italian that goes beyond the usual ski-town fare, Vulcania is the move. Come hungry, order the pizza "appetizer" (don't overthink it), and don't you dare skip the Voltaggi-O's. You'll leave full, happy... and already planning your next visit.

I highly recommend waiting in their waiting area or downstairs for your table as they will come to find to if something opens up quicker. Everything we ordered was tasty. We were very hesitant to try the Asian sticky ribs but it actually ended up being really good. I can't remember what the vegetable dish (4th pic) was called but it was also very good if you got a bite with everything in it. It had sweet potato, beet, candied walnuts and pomegranate seeds! We also ordered some drinks. The curry drink (forgot the name) was surprisingly good despite the odd list of ingredients that went in. Their local black cherry soda was also very nice. Service is great and very helpful when it came to recommendations. The space is small and doesn't allow dogs which was a bummer but still a spot I would come back to try more of their seasonal items!

This was particularly true of the 25/26 season, and I found myself there in what was likely one of the last powder days of the season. I stayed in the Mammoth Creek Inn, a short walk away from Mammoth Bowl, but this is not the first time I've been there. Mammoth Rock Brasserie is somewhat hidden as it exists above a bowling alley, but it is undeniably one of the rare gems in Mammoth Lakes. I walked in at about 5:30pm without a reservation on a Saturday, and everything was great. I got seated quickly near the window with a great view, and was given the rundown of the specials of the day, which I'll be grading individually. - Hamachi Special "Hamachi Crudo" (5/5) - done to absolute perfection, the choice of sauces and a small amount of ginger and seaweed salad made for a perfect tasing experience. The sashimi is fresh of course, but what sauces you pair with it matters - and Brasserie did it perfectly - Seabass special "Loup de Mer au Beurre Blanc" (5/5) - done to perfection! The skin was perfectly crispy, and the fillet done amazingly well and combined with the Beurre Blanc made for an incredible pairing. The mashed potato side and asparagus was also great, although I wasn't really a fan of the root vegetables. There was also the complementary bread and salted butter which were a great way to start. The bread I believe comes from Shea Schat's bakery in the same town. Overall everything was amazing, and you're overlooking some of the best views of Mammoth Lake's mountain range. It's difficult to not recommend the experience, except maybe it being a somewhat pricey fine dining experience, but I think everyone should try it at least once!
