I called ahead before coming to confirm that the UFC fight would be showing, and they assured us it was already on and that we could watch it there. Based on that, our group made the drive over and even paid for parking. When we arrived, none of the TVs were showing the fight, and the staff seemed completely unaware of what we were talking about. It was pretty frustrating considering we had specifically called ahead to avoid exactly that situation. From the moment we walked in, our party was met with a pretty negative attitude from the staff. Since we had already made the trip out and paid for parking, we decided to stay for a bit and order some food and drinks rather than immediately leave. Unfortunately, both were mid, and the servers came across as rude and uninterested the entire time. At that point we decided it wasn't worth sticking around. We left and ended up watching the fight back at our cabin instead. Overall, a disappointing experience and definitely not somewhere I'd go out of my way to visit again. read more

A lot of Tiki inspired drinks, which tasted pretty good. Everything was quickly made and well made. I wasn't a fan of the vibe. It felt like it was a tiki bar in terms of decor but just a regular sports bar in terms of music and vibe. The music was a bit random, I think they need a new DJ. I thought I could power through it but honestly I couldn't. Had two drinks and then left. There's not many options in the area that stay open this late so I can see why it would get packed lol. It's a tiki bar that's open late which is rare for mammoth. At least from what I researched there weren't many places open late. The drinks are tasty and strong lol. Came in on a Saturday night and around 10 pm they have a dj and open space for dancing. The menu also has a good variety of items to choose from. read more

Great food, great drinks. Service was nice even when it was busy -- you just have to be understanding....even when there's a blizzard outside. It can get a little crowded, but if you're patient I think it's an amazing spot. Interior is hip, slightly loud, but can put you in a good mood. Food: Fries are a little lackluster. Oh yes, "Lakanuki". One of the oldest businesses in Mammoth with a history. This place is definitely "home team" vibes as locals and visitors come here for drinks and karaoke The vibes are friendly and festive. Obviously, there's instances where fights do occur but that's more rare and if it does happen, it's mostly on Friday or Saturday nights. Rumor has it that owner is stakeholder in community, cameras are everywhere, and when things get too ugly, that evidence can seemingly vanish bc of ties to the local PD. Ya know, home team type of stuff. That said, it's still a tremendously fun place to go. If you bring good vibes and are respectful, you get the same vibes back. It's that simple. Point is to not let any negative reviews get in the way of having fun. The home team is fun, festive, and full of knowledge. "Quirky" is how I would describe this tiki bar in The Village. It has a little outdoor seating area which is nice when the weather is good. They played music to include Garth Brooks, Beach Boys, Toby Keith, etc. Started to feel more like a country bar than a tiki bar. Ordered a few items. The best item was guacamole and chips. The loco moco was average and the Yellow Curry with a chicken katsu topping was sour and it tasted as if the curry was a bit off. Servers were nice and gave leis to the kids. read more

Been to this place multiple times over the years when visiting mammoth. As a tiki bar enthusiast I'm always excited to visit tiki bars. The tiki drinks are great and their food is better than expected for a bar. The ambiance has the tiki Polynesian vibes. Depending on the time and day you visit the service might be slow but that's because as soon as you place your entire order in the server/ bartender starts making your drinks. This place sure was something. We first walked in around 8pm and it was pretty dead/empty (to be fair, it was also a Sunday haha). Saw that it was open until 2am though so figured it was more of a late night spot. We ended up coming back in a group of 14(!) around 10pm, and it slowly started to fill up after us. The main thing here is the karaoke, and between our group and the other groups that trickled in, we had a nonstop lineup of songs. Slightly unhinged at times :), we ran through every vibe of music. I can't comment much on their drinks, as at this point I was drinking mostly soda water and lime, then a Coors. Overall it was fun though! The decor and ambiance were unique and fun. The DJ working the karaoke was super fun and even participated with the groups. We got "last call" (last 30min) for karaoke around midnight. We were able to take the Night Trolley from the Village back to where we were staying at Juniper Springs at this time of night. It runs every half hour and the ride was about 25min long. read more

They always have a slushy on happy hour too, the last time, it was a margarita style slush. They have a mammoth brewery beer that's cheaper than going to the brewery. Most places were closed for lunch, but Lakanuki was open. It is a kind of bar that you want to drink in. The drills were fantastic. We ordered appetizers and they were all right. We subscribed avocado instead of pork. They should have put guacamole instead of sliced avocado. Also, the cheese seemed like the kind you pump. The tenders and fries were good. I ordered a fried rice and chicken. It was okay. There was a white mayonnaise type sauce that was tasteless. I added soy sauce and lemon juice in an attempt to create a taste. My don's burger was good. Over all the food was above average. I highly recommend for the staff to wipe down the salt shakers. Will I go here again, yes, definitely for drinks. read more

I really do not enjoy leaving negative reviews for places. But I do want to inform people to make the best choices of their hard earned dollars when the go out for some fun. Unfortunately this is a one star place for me. I do not expect fine dining when getting tiki drinks and bar food but I do expect that it is edible. These are the single worst poutine fries that I've ever had. The fries tasted stale, cold and flavorless . The white gravy tasted like it came from powder and was very processed. The cheese was bland. Unfortunately there were no redeeming qualities. For a 15 dollar margarita I expect this to be a hand crafted drink. It tasted like super market mix over ice with nothing fresh. However the worst part was the service. They were rude and condescending. When on the mountain I asked some people on the lift about this place. All that I asked had a similar experience. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this establishment. read more
