If you love BBQ like I do, you must check out Smokehouse 41 if you are in the Oakhurst area! This is another favorite spot which I have visited many times whenever I'm in the area. Plenty of parking although this place gets busy during peak times. This spot is not big inside although there are 2 separate dining areas with several dining tables. There is also outside patio seating with a bar/counter table. Went in for lunch a lil after 11am and there was already a line. Ordered the following for to-go: ***3 Meat Plate 5/5 - $28 Tri-tip, sausage, chicken with bbq beans and baked potato casserole - sooo good and tender! ***Half-rack pork rib plate 5/5 - $25 With bbq beans - super delish! We stopped by Smokehouse 41 after hearing great things, and it didn't disappoint. The brisket and tri-tip were tender, tasty, and just the right amount to leave us satisfied. We arrived around 6:00 pm, though by then the smoked ribs were already sold out. The staff were genuinely friendly and made the experience easy. There are two lines--one outside to look over the menu and another inside to pick your meats, sides, and drinks. The only challenge was seating. Gosh I really wanted to give this a 4 or 5 star review, I just can't based on our experience from Saturday June 6th 2026, at about 7:15 ish , the service here is excellent the location is great the look inside is promising, the restaurant is awesome you can see the huge smoker outside, I almost went back on Sunday June 7th when they opened just to see if there was a difference in the taste and quality of the Brisket. We Came up to Bass Lake for a wedding and was told about Smokehouse 41 from the groom. We ordered a lot of food the 1/2 rack of ribs were awesome, the jalapeño cheddar sausage was excellent unfortunately I'm hoping because of the time we ordered our food, the Brisket, though it looked very promising it was even taken out of the wrap and was not sliced yet looked a little smaller than the one the worker was already cutting, it was unfortunately dry, we ordered 1lb of the point, out of the 1lb basically only 3 slices weren't very dry, and we ordered the Brontosaurus Beef Rib , I saw it on the counter where the young man who was cutting the meat was while we were in line, when I ordered it I asked if he had another one he just put it on the scale and told me the weight, I just drove a few hours and didn't want to hold up the line or argue , because I believe they were soon to close for the night, that was my mistake! looking at the bark on the Beef Rib , I knew the Bark looked a little dehydrated and the result was it made the muscle fibers turn more like shredded & stringy instead of tender, when you order a Beef Rib like that you know you're about to have one of the best bites in BBQ, unfortunately it didn't happen, I knew better & the beans they maybe needed a fresh rotation brought out, but again they were going to close soon so perhaps that wasn't an option. I will say the Tri-Tip looked very good it actually looked better than most other BBQ restaurants I've been to, unfortunately I cooked so many Tri-Tips the previous weekend , i was tri- Tipped out! but When I am ever in the area agin I do hope to try it. The workers all seemed exceptionally nice, I was asking questions that unfortunately they couldn't give me an answer to, I should've asked for a manager or someone else with the knowledge of the questions I was asking the workers just said oh, I'm sorry. We spent $138 or $148 for the food plus thew a generous tip in the tip jar. So perhaps my expectations were hoping for a better result, I do know that proteins can be tricky on occasion there are many variables while proteins are being smoked for many hours. I just wish that end of the house, had quality control of the product they are selling, someone should have noticed that Beef Rib long before it was on the counter, And when they are slicing brisket especially the point perhaps eat the cost of a few briskets that might be sold to the public when the person slicing the brisket can tell it's dry & not juicy, add it too the beans so it's not a total loss. After we exited the restaurant, we saw the young man who was slicing the meat taking perhaps his last break of his shift, We chatted a little bit and as I was telling him about the brisket, he nodded, " was it dry" I told him unfortunately it was but it most certainly wasn't his fault, I'm sure he wasn't the pit master, I tipped him a 10 for disturbing his break! If I ever come back to the area like I mentioned earlier in this post I will come back much earlier in the day hoping for a much more pleasing experience. There were about 11-15 people working, 1 person was on the meat station, 1 cashier, 2 on the sides (if they decided to do anything or just stand there), 2 people standing on either side of the lobby. We went there at 5 PM and there was already a line to get in. It is cafeteria style, where you order, they make it for you right then and then you take it to the table. They play kind of old rock 'n' roll music in there, which my wife wasn't too happy about. But I liked it. Everything is served directly on the tray with plastic utensils and paper cups. We were excited to get the brisket because we had heard how moist it was, but it was not that moist. Another issue I had was that everything just came warm, not hot. Smokehouse 41 is fast-casual, counter service for ordering and assembly, popular California-style BBQ restaurant. Known for its oak wood smoked meats like brisket, tri-tip, and ribs, served with house-made sides, it will soon be you fav too..as it's now one of mine. Eating dinner at 7 pm, since we had a late filling lunch ~ not wanting to overdo it, my daughter & I shared a 2 meat plate. A lot of the cut meats were sold out by this time, but it was fine cuz we wanted the brisket & tri-tip beef anyways (which were both still available). The meat plate comes w/ 2 regular sides, a dinner roll & pickles (which oops..now I realize we didn't get lol, but it's fine). You can opt for a premium side instead for an upcharge. We ended choosing the jalapeño mac & cheese topped with bacon and it was DEELISH & a mixed green salad with an vinegarette dressing to balance all the protein, which was refreshing & good. The tri-tip was chef's kiss. Cooked to perfection ~ medium-rare, how I like it. It literally melted in your mouth. The brisket was flavorful as well and super juicy. My hubs got the same plate, just with a coleslaw side, instead of the mac & cheese. My son veered away from the fam consensus and got a chopped beef brisket sandwich with add-on grilled onions and a side of the mac & cheese. He liked it. All in all, such a good vibe. I went for a brisket, tri-tip and the cheddar jalapeño sausage, which came highly recommended. They were not lying, that sausage was fire! Also a little spicy. We were looking for a place to eat and found this place and it was delicious! Nothing like good meat to eat when you are hungry! When we arrived around 4:30pm, there was a line out the door. They had a worker standing outside to assist guests with questions they had about the menu. I asked the girl some questions and she recommended the premium potato salad upgrade so I got it and did not regret it! She was very passionate about the food there and she said it was the best food on the mountain! It's a good sign when your workers are happy to eat there! I asked for a beer similar to a blue moon and the manager grabbed the Wiesn beer without hesitation and I loved it!
