    Thee most perfect Guinness!
    Gladys A.

It was my first time making a trip to Mammoth Lakes and my friend and I stumbled upon this pub gem! We got there at about 6pm on a Saturday so it wasn't so busy yet (which I personally enjoy more), super cozy atmosphere, our bartender Possum (I hope I got that correct) was super welcoming and awesome, and they had a nice selection of draft beers & spirits. I ordered my first ever Guinness (have tried it before but never actually ordered one, been heavy into Guinness series on Netflix so was excited about that) and it was thee most perfect Guinness! I appreciate that they had touch tunes around the time we were there so was able to enjoy my dranks to some of my fav jams. Eventually as the night progressed more people started arriving and it did get much livelier and packed so it'd be mindful of that depending on what kind of experience you're trying to have. Overall, I definitely look forward to visiting again in the future and recommend checking this sweet pub out :-)

Great ambience, I don't know what the other reviews we're talking about the bartenders were amazing. That said the website and Facebook are wrong, happy hour ends at 6 not 6:30 or 7. They were also out of the cider and Irish coffee. Good time overall though.

Totchos with cheese on the side and extra jalapenos
    Kelly D.

Updated take-out review. Food take-out took about 10 min to prepare. Not a surprise, but the Totchos were still a WINNER! If you're getting the Totchos to-go, get the cheese on the side and ask for extra crispy tots. Everything will stay crispier this way. I always ask for extra jalapenos as well. The jalapenos at Clocktower really pack a punch. Totchos have a nice crisp and are topped with bacon, sour cream, cheese sauce, and jalapenos. It's great finger food with a cold beer after a day in the mountains. I branched off from my usual tots and also tried the Mac and Cheese and Schnitzel Sandwich during my last trip to Mammoth. Mac and Cheese uses the same sauce as the totchos and was not worth getting. It was bland and not cheesy at all. Throwing some shredded cheese on top to give it that ooey gooey goodness and a tad more salt would have saved the dish. The Schnitzel Sandwich and fries were good and held up well as a take-out option. Sharing a Schnitzel Sandwich and Totchos is the way to go if you're feeling hungry.

Service was great, ambiance was a cool vibe, but the food was terrible. This is a great place to grab a drink. Eat somewhere else.

Even though the food tasted alright and the staff were wonderful, we got food poisoning from the dinner we had there.

Is phone that requires you to pay with tip when ordering. When did a tip stop being for service? How do you give someone a tip for service before they provide the service? Unfortunately, I've seen this at other places too, just over how ridiculous tipping has become and will avoid these places in the future. Sorry for the rant. Anyway, I was giving 3 stars initially and then the food came out. Both my buddy and I got the hot chicken sandwich, which I had here over a year ago and was good. This time it was over cooked and dry. So dry it was hard to swallow even with slaw in it. The waffle fries were stale, and both the sandwiches and fries were room temperature even though it came out within minutes of ordering. I appreciate fast food delivery, but this seemed like a it was just reheated. The server was friendly and came back and checked in us, so that was good, but we'll be going back to our regular brewery in the future.

She was very friendly and we were thankful she informed us that they were shorthanded so we lowered our expectations on the service. We've come so often that we know what is normal. There were three of us this time and my girlfriend and I want to split a meal. We simply asked if they would cut the ribs and the meatloaf in half. Erin went above and beyond and brought out two complete splits for us. It was very kind. My husband ordered the pork chops and said they were excellent. Everything was really good that night, but we sat outside, near the end where they used to have a yoga studio, but now it's a bar of some sort. The competing music was annoying. My husband and I returned again and everything was back to normal. We did sit closer to the front door, but the music seemed to be just fine. Eric was our server with assistance from Em and Brian. Everybody was so attentive and on top of things. The minute my water glass was half empty, Brian had it filled up. The owner, Matt, even came out to say hello. We told him that we have been following him since he was chef at the gas station My husband and I are older and don't eat as much as we used to. So this time we split a dinner Caesar and split the ribs. They are so kind to give us separate plates and no split charge. The food and our experience was excellent. We had a couple of options to pick from but thought to try this place. So glad we did. It felt very homey and the vibes were so nice. When we arrived the restaurant was fairly empty. Around 5:30. That should have been a clue.... When we requested them to put tables together they were so rude and acted like we were severely inconveniencing them. We're out to dinner with friends on vacation so excuse us for wanting to all sit together in your empty restaurant! When it was time to order I nicely asked if it was easier for the server to divide the checks by our 3 families as we ordered or wait until they brought us the bill. Server says neither could be done. Their "system" wouldn't allow it. It would be impossible.. So I said that was odd because I eat out at least 3 or 4 times a week and usually it's not a problem.. So I offer what I thought was a reasonable solution ... They seemed so put out that they had to put together 3 small tables for our group so I suggested entering the order as 3 separate tables .. Nope! Couldn't be done. Food wouldn't come out at the same time. I said we didn't mind that. I even pulled our table a little away from the other 2 and said ... Ok, now we're our own table.. Nope! Couldn't be done.. best they could do is put everything on one check and we'd have to figure out how to divide it up ourselves and they could run separate cards. Now here's the thing if you're reading this thinking I'm just whining and being unreasonable.... I'm giving them my business.. it ended up being over $300 of business for them. I own my own business so I know the value of customer service. If I make a reasonable request for something that is done all the time at other places and they flatly refuse and do that with attitude,,, that is a horrible customer service. They do realize they're in a service industry, right??. When they tell me that my request isn't possible thats a lie because I do it all the time. What they are really saying is that they don't WANT to do it or are refusing to try to figure out a way to accommodate our request. Normally I tell the server that if they can't figure out a way to fulfill my simple request and we have to do it ourselves I'll just deduct some from their tip since I have to do their job and it seems they don't want to be inconvenienced. But since we were a larger group they automatically hit us with a service charge. So instead, next time we'll take our large group to Gomez's which I hear is better and hope the servers are more friendly and more accommodating.

We were very hesitant to try the Asian sticky ribs but it actually ended up being really good. I can't remember what the vegetable dish (4th pic) was called but it was also very good if you got a bite with everything in it. It had sweet potato, beet, candied walnuts and pomegranate seeds! We also ordered some drinks. The curry drink (forgot the name) was surprisingly good despite the odd list of ingredients that went in. Their local black cherry soda was also very nice. The space is small and doesn't allow dogs which was a bummer but still a spot I would come back to try more of their seasonal items!
