    vegetarian fajita burrito made vegan
    Athonia C.

Happy Hour here is from 2 PM-5PM and offers discounts on the TJ Margarita, the House wines such as the CK Mondovi and an assortment of other items that were too many for me to track when my sever told me about 'em! The vegetarian fajita burrito is delicious when made vegan (hold the cheese & sour cream). Don't forget to ask for jalapeños! See photo for the yummy insides of that fajita burrito!! They are huge. I took the 2nd 1/2 of that burrito with me for day two on the mountain. The cantina is upstairs and it's generally hopping in the late afternoon for aprés. It has a nice wooden ceiling & floor plus a palm tree decor that makes the ambiance cozy

This is our second visit to Roberto's Cafe after our friend's introduced us to Roberto's last year. The food was just as delicious as our last visit. We walked in and were seated immediately upstairs in the bar area. Our server Anna greeted us and brought us water, chips and salsa. Anna was very friendly and attentive throughout the evening. The chips are delicious. You can tell they are home made. The salsa was super fresh and tasty as well. We ordered a dirty martini and a regular margarita. My husband really liked the margarita but something was off with the martini. Possibly too much vermouth or bad olive juice. I ordered the enchiladas rancheras. Two carne asada cheese enchiladas covered with sour cream sauce. Topped with guacamole, olives, and tomatoes served with rice and beans. $23.45. Really gooey delicious enchiladas. My husband ordered the polo asada burrito. Marinated chicken and refried beans wrapped in a flour tortilla, then covered with Roberto's sauce and cheese. Served with guacamole and sour cream - 18.95. My husband loved it. We both said we will always come back to Roberto's each time we visit Mammoth.

Food portions are very generous. Indoor and outdoor seating. Bar on the second floor has many tvs for sports games. Staff is mostly friendly a few staff maybe should consider something not in the hospitality industry and also consider that Mammoth is a tourist destination and not be treated as if the customer is doing you a favor talking specifically about the male host who is the primary greeter. Happy hour specials are great. Bar drinks were good and strong! One negative for a Mexican restaurant maybe play some Spanish music in the background just saying.

Yummy mexican spot in mammoth with generous portions! We were seated right away & given water & chips & salsa. They have happy hour 2-5PM. Getting the attention of the workers can be hard, possibly because they are busy & understaffed? But the time between ordering & getting our foods on the table is pretty quick. I enjoyed my carne asada plate, it was really filling. Bathrooms are clean. Parking plaza is spacious. Overall I would come back if i'm snowboarding & craving mexican food!

Great for a casual sit down spot in town. Has a few games playing and good food. Large quantities for a good price. Service was great as well, amazingly nice server and overall chill vibe. I will definitely be returning when I'm in town!

I've been here quite a few times. Maybe like 5? And every time I think it's mid... UNTIL I FINALLY ORDERED THE DUCK BURRITO. Before, 3/5. Now? 5/5. Amazing. Grand. Fabulous. Crispy duck, even inside of the burrito. Multiple friends who tried it off of my plate have even likened it to Peking duck with the crisp. Totally blown away. Also the chips and salsa are quite good here -- big fan. Also prefer dining upstairs; it's more of a vibe.

We came here with a large group on a Friday night. We waited about 10 mins then We were sat in the bar area. Service was fast after that. Yummy chips, salsa, and guacamole came out. Our pitchers of beer and margaritas were always full. The food came out fast as well. I loved my cheese enchiladas and my husband enjoyed his tostada. The whole table was happy with everything. Great way to treat a large party!

We are not from Mammoth. We were just here visiting the week of October 19, 2025. We actually ate at Roberto's twice while we were here. Pretty acceptable Mexican food for such a tourist area. No complaints at all. Not quite the kind of Mexican food you get in Southern California where we live but again no complaints.

We had (1) chicken enchiladas with rice and beans and (2) carnitas burritos. They were both delicious. However I thought the chips were a bit too thick. I also think they could have done a better job with plating. The plates should have been wiped clean on the edges so it doesn't look so messy with the food in it. The salsa was good. Service was good. Prices were good. We would come back to try other dishes.

We love this restaurant! Perfect chips and salsa and the margaritas are amazing! We enjoyed their lunch specials and the Grande burrito this time. Service with a smile and the upstairs ambiance is an even better experience (open for dinner).

While visiting mammoth, decided to go and have lunch with family. This restaurant is 40 years old and owned by the same family from day one. Met the owner, who was walking around bussing tables and checking in with the guests which I thought was pretty cool. The food portions are big, but also a little on the higher price though I believe firmly it's worth it. We ordered their chicken fajitas, steak fajitas, enchiladas plate. Everything was delicious. Service by the server was also good except they could not split our Check so we just end up paying all on one check and did split ourselves

First time in mammoth and Roberto's was highly recommended. We were seated pretty quick. I ordered the albondigas and carne asada taco. The albondigas were more of a stew consistency but I like it and it was very flavorful. The taco was a good size and very flavorful as well. My husband had the taco plate, I tried his beans and rice and they were both really good. I always say you will know if the restaurant is good but the taste of their salsa which was also good. We both ordered a Cadillac Margarita and it was ok. Service was good so was the ambience. It's a little pricey for what we ordered. But overall good.

I enjoyed my dinner here. We were seated quickly despite it being pretty busy inside. There were chips and salsa already at the table when we sat down! I ordered the fish burrito which was massive and really good! There were some nice murals and the upstairs had a bit of an island theme with surf boards and palm tree decor. The service could be improved though as my water was never refilled.

Are their beans vegetarian, no lard? How about rice and red sauce enchiladas etc? Do they use chicken broth or any animal products in these dishes that can be vegetarian?

Hey. I'm not sure of all those items, but their Spanish Rice is cooked in Chicken broth.

Are there gluten-free options? I mean, beyond standard corn tortillas, like is there a dedicated fryer, what about pinto beans and rice? Thank you.

Michael, No I do not know about gluten-free foods. I would suggest that you just give them a call. They would be more then happy to answer your Questions. I would bet that they do have special menu. Hope this is helpful. Kathryn

Are they open as they don't answer the phone?

They are open. Like many restaurants, they are trying to find their way through the Covid restrictions. They need to figure out their outdoor seating, telephone orders and staffing. The food is great though.

Is it pet friendly? the pictures show an outdoor dining area

Yes they do have outdoor dining that I'm sure allow pets. Oh yea, great Mexican food too. 👍

This was particularly true of the 25/26 season, and I found myself there in what was likely one of the last powder days of the season. I stayed in the Mammoth Creek Inn, a short walk away from Mammoth Bowl, but this is not the first time I've been there. Mammoth Rock Brasserie is somewhat hidden as it exists above a bowling alley, but it is undeniably one of the rare gems in Mammoth Lakes. I walked in at about 5:30pm without a reservation on a Saturday, and everything was great. I got seated quickly near the window with a great view, and was given the rundown of the specials of the day, which I'll be grading individually. - Hamachi Special "Hamachi Crudo" (5/5) - done to absolute perfection, the choice of sauces and a small amount of ginger and seaweed salad made for a perfect tasing experience. The sashimi is fresh of course, but what sauces you pair with it matters - and Brasserie did it perfectly - Seabass special "Loup de Mer au Beurre Blanc" (5/5) - done to perfection! The skin was perfectly crispy, and the fillet done amazingly well and combined with the Beurre Blanc made for an incredible pairing. The mashed potato side and asparagus was also great, although I wasn't really a fan of the root vegetables. There was also the complementary bread and salted butter which were a great way to start. The bread I believe comes from Shea Schat's bakery in the same town. Overall everything was amazing, and you're overlooking some of the best views of Mammoth Lake's mountain range. It's difficult to not recommend the experience, except maybe it being a somewhat pricey fine dining experience, but I think everyone should try it at least once!

This was our first time staying for the weekend at the lodge, and we were genuinely excited about the experience. On our second night we decided to have a special dinner at the Lakefront Restaurant, which we had been looking forward to. Unfortunately, the meal was very disappointing--especially given the price point. Our starter salad was mostly iceberg lettuce, the lamb starter was undercooked, and while the scallops were very good, $8 per scallop felt excessive. The beef Wellington, which we were particularly excited about, was bland and the pastry was doughy. For a dinner that totaled over $300 for two people, we expected a much higher level of quality and creativity. Compared to our previous visits, the food felt like it had gone noticeably downhill. It's genuinely sad to write this because we've always loved coming here. Sadly, this experience left us feeling disappointed enough that we likely won't return.

We tried to snag a late New Year's Eve reservation and struck out, but the staff was super accommodating and fit us in on a following night. Very glad they did. The space itself is small, cozy, and intimate in the best way. It feels warm and inviting, especially after a long day in the cold, and sets the tone for a relaxed, linger-over-wine kind of dinner. The food was excellent across the board. We ordered elk, cod, and scallops and the scallops were the clear mic drop. Perfectly cooked, rich, and memorable. Our server recommended a bottle of wine that paired beautifully with everything and felt like someone actually listened instead of just pointing at the most expensive option. Service all around was warm, attentive, and unpretentious, which is not always a given in resort towns. Dessert was sorbet, simple but refreshing, and my girlfriend ordered a port she really enjoyed. After dinner we took the rest of the wine, grabbed a seat by the fireplace, and played chess, which felt like the most civilized way possible to end a night in the snow. Logistics wise, getting here can be a little annoying, especially if you are staying up at Mammoth Mountain Inn. You will want to call a taxi and plan ahead. That said, the extra effort was completely worth it. This is easily one of the best restaurants in Mammoth and the kind of place that makes you forget about the drive once the first plate hits the table.

We were very hesitant to try the Asian sticky ribs but it actually ended up being really good. I can't remember what the vegetable dish (4th pic) was called but it was also very good if you got a bite with everything in it. It had sweet potato, beet, candied walnuts and pomegranate seeds! Tucked into the Village right next to Gomez's Mexican Restaurant (which is no slouch itself), this place pulls off that rare trick: it actually feels like a legit Italian escape...just with better snow outside. Let's start where all good decisions begin: pizza as an appetizer. Yes, you heard that right. Their authentic pizza oven isn't just for show--it's the real deal. Thin crust, blistered just enough, and gone in about 90 seconds at our table. No regrets. The tricolore salad is a solid opener--fresh, simple, and a nice way to pretend you're pacing yourself. You're not. Because then comes the main event: Voltaggi-O's. Imagine your childhood love affair with Chef Boyardee's Spaghetti-O's...then imagine it went to culinary school, studied abroad in Naples, and came back with confidence, depth, and a killer wine list. That's this dish. It's nostalgic, elevated, and borderline dangerous in how easy it is to keep eating. And honestly? The staff might be the real MVPs. Servers and bartenders here are five-star across the board--attentive without hovering, smiling like they actually enjoy being there, and full of spot-on recommendations (which, let's be honest, we happily followed). Bottom line: If you're in Mammoth and craving Italian that goes beyond the usual ski-town fare, Vulcania is the move. Come hungry, order the pizza "appetizer" (don't overthink it), and don't you dare skip the Voltaggi-O's. You'll leave full, happy... and already planning your next visit.

There's currently a lighting hold on the mountains so instead of waiting in the active snow, it's nice and warm inside. ---- We ordered: Mammoth Mocha $14: - Very strong alcohol - brandy, baileys with Ghirardelli hot chocolate, La Colombe coffee, whipped cream Praline Coffee $14: - nice butterscotch aroma - baileys, frangelico, butterscotch schnapps, la Colombe coffee ---- Notes: - lots of seating (inside and outside) - a little bit dim lighting wise at the bar area, more bright at the dining area - bathrooms located upstairs and downstairs - sometimes a local band plays outside ---- Overall: a pretty cool place for drinks to warm up your belly before heading back out on the slopes, strong drinks and nice atmosphere to rest

Get the Bloody Mary and start your Bloody Mary tour!…read more This drink is filling! A classic Bloody Mary with a delicious twist. In addition to a lime, lemon, celery, and a peppercini this bloody also includes two pimiento cheese balls and a mini donut, thus making it my favorite bloody ever. The purchase of this Bloody Mary starts your Mammoth Resort Bloody Mary tour where if you get a bloody at each bar on the mountain you get a free Yeti tumbler. This will definitely be the most expensive tumbler you'll ever buy, but it'll be worth it!
